2star hoff ball is hoff ball. Given the choice would you want our next manager to be Wenger or Pullis? Who would you rather watch Barcelona or Stoke.

I cringed when we were linked with Mick McCarthy. Megson is number 2 at West Brom.

Forest are known for playing football the way it should be played. Even before Clough, Carey's side in the mid 60's was a passing side.

I know my posts are like Marmite, you either like or you hate them, but all I ever call for is for us to stick to a few basic principles. Top of that list is we play the ball on the ground.

We got beat last night, but we played good football at times and when we did it was good to watch.

One word on Cummings, who is a Cloughie type. A bit of a misfit with talent. Clough would have ripped him a new hole last night had he been there, not because he missed a couple of good chances, but because he never attacked the near post once. Clough was a prolific striker and he knew better than anyone centre halves and goalkeepers hate it when strikers attack the near post.

Wishey, I'm not sure what your asking me to be honest ? What's the context? Is your question related to a previous post of mine?

Hear hear Wishey. Let's get the old boots on and show these wallflowers how to shake up the opposition?

I guess all I am saying is, there is a Forest way and Warburton is trying to play it.
If we were winning playing the Forest way, everyone would be happy.
Even if it guaranteed more consistent results I would not want to watch a Pullis side, or a McCarthy side, I was glad McLeish did not stay long too, for the same reason.

No nonsense defending is one thing, sticking it in row Z is still a good option in the right circumstances. But when a defender or our keeper has the time, I want them to play out from the back, on the floor.

Johnny Carey's 60s side was solid in defence with an excellent keeper who was unlucky to be born in the era of Banks, Bonnetti etc or he would have played for England. It had two great centre backs and reliable full backs. Clough and Taylor built their team around clean sheets which is why BC 'wanted two hard b------- at the middle of the defence' (his words not mine) and one of the best goalies ever to draw breath. Neither would have accepted shipping two goals a game.

Since when was the forest way getting players who aren't comfortable knocking the ball around to play out from the back and I don't want to be too harsh on our gk as he has got potential but getting him playing with his feet is a bit like asking Shaun Ryder not to swear on live tv. Get the ball to the right people asap and let them play with it-play to your strengths not weaknesses

Honestly? After seasons of pain I couldn't care less who the manager is, how many academy players we have, who plays or how we play. All I want is a few seasons of being competitive in the 2nd tier - especially at home. Perpetual seasons of struggle in any division normally ends in one way and our struggle is definitely perpetual

Rome wasn't built in a day it will take time the football seems really good sometimes it just needs to click Into place and we're still missing a few good signings

Definitely missing a full line up of defenders and a goalkeeper it's been like this for a few seasons just hope it gets sorted in January.

Forest have got the players, I just think they lack the fight and motivation, and they don't seem to fear MW if they lose, in Clough's day if they made that many mistakes he would have torn them a new one, and they be dropped,
I don't think there's harmony in the camp and it's been MW doing, there was much hope in pre season so what's happened. Lichaj Hobbs and Fox are experienced defenders and Mancienne/Bridcutt in front of them to protect them, build from the back, then MW might get some success.
Murphy and Cummings did well, but Murphy looked tired in the second half, but subbed Cummings, then Vellios should be coming on, not Brereton, that's what he was doing in pre season. His stubbornness will get him sacked.
