Outgoings absolutely inevitable to fund the incomings.
Osborn, Worrall, clough, Walker grant, McKay, vellios, Cummings will all be sacrificed - maybe more.

I think we will keep Brereton and Yates

1.) 14 Jun 2018 07:22:12
All be sacrificed?? 😂 I don’t generally like to knock players but that’s no great loss??? I would like to have seen more of Clough though

2.) 14 Jun 2018 08:11:57
Keep Worrall to learn from Dawson and AK,sell the rest imo

3.) 14 Jun 2018 08:50:59
Want to see more of Cummings and why get rid of Grant? He was brilliant at Notts and hasn't had a chance yet!

4.) 14 Jun 2018 09:52:03
I would like to keep Osborn and Worrall as well as Brereton and Yates. The others can go as soon as!!

5.) 14 Jun 2018 12:37:26
Worrall is a must keep!

Everything a C half should be and a future England captain. No brainer because he can step in at any point and do a very solid job.He always puts his body on the line and fights for the team.

How many of our young homegrown players can you say that about?

Osbourne, Worrall, cash and that's about it currently.

Certainly not BB! If we got a 10 million offer for BB I'd take it in a heartbeat. Don't think there is much chance of that happening after squandering his chances last season and learning the art of playing at swan lake.

I'd try to hang on to those three and strip the rest to bare bones to pay for the incoming new first team.

Be ruthless and get rid of the young players who have been out on loan perhaps with the exception of Walker who looks lively and has great ties to the club.
Grant not good enough! Would think about keeping Yates if he shows massive progress in pre season.
This season is about getting to the Prem and we need to go all out with all resources or we will fail!

We know who the good players are!

Smith (back up)

Watson (just about)

Guediora if he can recapture his form because let's not forget he'd been out for about 2 years prior to rejoining.
Looked nothing like the player of old but I think he deserves a chance because of his passion and physicality. He knows how to control a game late on.

And that's about it apart from a few squad players.

That's 11 players so we need another 11 to be top three material.

We need two strikers!
Two wingers
A left back
Two centre midfield
A first choice goalkeeper

As far as I'm concerned the rest of the players can leave or be prepared to fight for a chance on the bench.

Sell Mance, Murphy, Darikwa, Mckay, Brereton, Traore, Vellios, Clough, Cummings.

I make that about 18 million if you get 10M for Brereton.

Loan out or release Ward, Kapino, Evtimov, Henderson, Fuentes, Bouch, Lam, Ariyibi.
With the exception of Ward (who I really like) they have been proven not good enough.

6.) 14 Jun 2018 13:18:24
And before I get called out for saying Lichaj is good please remember that "good" does not mean skilful?

Good, to me, is a player who consistently performs to a high level everytime he is picked, no matter if they have been playing regularly or not.

If they are a good pro and fabulous ambassador then they should be cherished not shown the door.

Tomlin is a good player but I wouldn't sign him. Why? Because you just don't know what you're going to get. Level of performance should not depend on the mood he turns up in or how many pies got smashed in the pub with the lads.

All I know is that there is nothing wrong with the clubs money on wage day! Why should the players performance be any less consistent?

7.) 14 Jun 2018 13:45:05
Anything else you'd like to add no22😦

8.) 14 Jun 2018 14:14:43
Agree with that no 22 tomlin has got an attitude problem.
Plus a pie and chips one

9.) 14 Jun 2018 17:11:57
How do we know what any players attitude is like?

10.) 14 Jun 2018 17:12:30
Hope we don't sign any more players with an altitude problem😲

11.) 14 Jun 2018 18:57:22
His attitude is I'm great and don't need to work on fitness???
It shows if you watch.

12.) 14 Jun 2018 19:42:44
10 million for brereton?? Ha ha what, rupees?

13.) 14 Jun 2018 21:41:42
Karanka rates him so get used to watching him.

14.) 14 Jun 2018 23:04:02
Our best players were fat lads who had no issues with their fitness despite their build. As for attitude they all had a winning attitude which raised everyone else's game!

10 Mar 2018 18:42:29
Armand Traore injured, Tyler walker not in squad at Bolton, clough warning the bench at Bolton and Mills not in the Barnsley team . Two words to say to AK. well done!

1.) 10 Mar 2018 21:38:58
The amazing thing is that there are Forest fans who still rate them? But then they are still in the Warbo camp?
I still think Wing Nut will come good for the money we paid once we have a competitive team next season?
Agreed well done AK

2.) 10 Mar 2018 22:16:13
Ear Ear !

3.) 10 Mar 2018 22:26:24
I with you on that Red. Still think Clough is a good player but never given a run of games under Warbo especially in the Tomlin/Dowell role.Another player Warbo used to like playing out of position.

4.) 10 Mar 2018 22:33:04
By wing nut you mean ZC ?

5.) 10 Mar 2018 22:57:09
Big ears will look better alongside a big noddy?😉

6.) 11 Mar 2018 01:08:28
Agree on Clough like many players he was played out of position dropped after times he played well and lost confidence under MW. Last season he was quality when he came in and scored some important goals if he can get come back in summer to a confident squad with better and wiser players and a good captain like Watson to help guide him he can still come good as is still young and if Tomlin doesn’t join us once Dowell leaves he could get his chance to shine next season in the number 10 role.
Still think Walker may have a future if he can put some muscle on as looked ok in the odd games but every season he has failed to improve since he first stepped up to first team it looks more like his level may be league 1/2 but still think we could give him another few seasons to see before writing him off completely. Mills was well past it and Traoure was inconsistent and trouble. Glad they are gone. Hope AK shifts a few more (Hobbs, Vaughan, Bouchalakis, Ward and Traoure permanently and even maybe McKay and Manchienne) in summer.

7.) 11 Mar 2018 01:49:52
Murphy 79?

8.) 11 Mar 2018 08:51:16
Bouchalakis ! I forgot about him! Yes bye mancienne for me too.

9.) 11 Mar 2018 12:36:27
Tyler Walker is the best finisher we have and would even be a good option today in my opinion (better than Murphy on current form).

If we can get £2M back for Clough great. Clough is decent but we need players capable of staying with us and growing if we are promoted and I doubt he is that level.

10.) 11 Mar 2018 17:42:40
Shame we didn't have sometrhing extra in attack. Vellios is NOT the answer. Sorry but it is the truth

10 Jan 2018 20:33:58
Dowell staying.
Good news ?

1.) 10 Jan 2018 20:49:03
If true yeah, could do with the extra talent and firepower for the remainder of the season if possible

2.) 10 Jan 2018 20:51:55
I'd say so yes. The few posters that complained He's keeping Clough out of the team may disagree but Sunday proved they can both start even though Clough looked lost on the left.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 20:58:49
What's the question?

4.) 10 Jan 2018 21:05:27
Imo great news but if he's not performing Clough and Osbourne can do his role as attacking midfielder probably Cashy as well. That,in my book,is good competition and should the lad on his toes!

5.) 10 Jan 2018 21:05:45
My question is Gazza does everyone think this is good news ? I know some think KD has limited progression of clough etc.

6.) 10 Jan 2018 21:45:41
As long as he learns that his team mates tend to play in the same colour as he does and not the oppositions colours.

7.) 10 Jan 2018 21:59:21
Clough not good enough at the mo.
Not seen him have a good game since he’s been here. Was the star at Bolton but out of his depth at Forest.

8.) 11 Jan 2018 01:43:36
Clough did ok on Sunday on left but he hasn’t played enough so his touch was heavy, give him some more game time to sharpen up. I think him and Dowell behind a striker (Brereton being my choice though Murphy too) can work but can always push Osbourn up to left attack and bring Bridcutt in. Good news we have Dowell for rest of season as he has movement and vision others don’t, Cash, Oz and Bridcutt are all work horses and rely on energy but Dowell pulls defends, creates space and plays clever balls that split defence and we don’t really have others who can do that as consistently or as well.

9.) 11 Jan 2018 07:38:40
Clough is an odd one, when I used to see him play for Bolton I was very impressed and believed he belonged at a higher level. However I've not got that opinion of him since he's been at Forest. He has had a good crack at the whip pre KD and didn't show too much. Hopefully he'll kick on under AK. I think it's a confidence thing with him, he really needs to back himself more.

10.) 11 Jan 2018 07:54:54
I don’t doubt that Kieran Dowell is a fantastic player with great technical ability but we have Zach Clough. Clough showed glimpses of what he could do on Sunday, drifting in from the wing and carrying the ball up the pitch. I’d say karanka needs to give clough a chance and if he doesn’t perform then we have Dowell to fall back on.

11.) 11 Jan 2018 10:38:32
Clough needs to do an Osborn: put on muscle, don't get pushed off the ball, increase pace and learn to tackle, and get back to help defenders. Then he might get into the starting XI.

12.) 11 Jan 2018 11:55:21
Osborn muscle?
You wouldn't want to bump into him down a dark alley? He could get trod on.
Seen more muscle on a chicken leg.😀😀😀

13.) 11 Jan 2018 11:53:35
Friends who are Everton fans want him back, I've told them he's not ready for the Prem. Finishing the season for us will give him a good grounding, getting on the bench and first team minutes at Everton is up to him. Looks like he is still 'growing up' to me and hopefully he plays even better for Forest, for the rest of the season.

14.) 11 Jan 2018 21:41:47
The simple reason for Clough not playing is in fact Kieron Dowell. He’s so good that he’s keeping another good player out of the team.

Clough scored four goals in about 12 appearances last season, assisted with a few too.

Great that we’ve got Dowelll unto the end of the season though. Lucky to have him.

21 Dec 2017 08:19:18
Is it definitely correct that we spent a combined 4m on Murphy and Darikwa?

1.) 21 Dec 2017 08:40:19
I thought it was 2m for Murphy and 1m for Darikwa 2star.

2.) 21 Dec 2017 11:05:40
must admit I thought they were both 2 mil

3.) 21 Dec 2017 11:22:18
More to the point was it money well spent ?
Is Darikwa better than Lichaj ?
Is Murphy 2m better than Vellios ,these are the players they were bought in to replace .
Personaly I think the fees plus no doubt top championship wagers could have been spent better !

4.) 21 Dec 2017 11:32:25
Red Fred is right, Darikwa was 1 mil.

5.) 21 Dec 2017 11:39:56
Thanks all.

6.) 21 Dec 2017 22:00:15
Only one of them is worth two pints of lager and a packet of crisps?

23 Jul 2017 20:47:10
So there is a chance others outwith of vald, Lica and perquis may leave the club? Any thoughts on who? I reckon Lam could still be dispensed with as could ward . I like ward but I'm not sure warbs is too bothered. I have a feeling we might still cash in on another - Osborn would generate a tidy enough sum.

1.) 23 Jul 2017 20:56:48
I think it will be at least January before we lose anymore star players.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 21:10:59
Not so sure about Ward because he is playing better than ever since the arrival of MW.
Osborne is a definite maybe but you might see an exit of a goalkeeper or two.

3.) 23 Jul 2017 22:45:23
Hope it's not BB. If it has to be one of the young stars I'd sooner see Osborn or cash go before worrall and BB. I think Grear strikers and centre halves are very valuable. I'm not under rating BO and MC but feel sure they'd be easy to replace.

4.) 24 Jul 2017 00:58:41
2star. You say you are not under rating them, but feel sure they would be easy to replace. I hate to see your feelings if you actually were under rating them then.

5.) 24 Jul 2017 06:57:33
I wouldn't mind losing Osbourn for the right price, he hasn't really developed like we expected I don't believe. I know people will point me to the stats of last season but stats aren't everything, he does more wrong than right.

6.) 24 Jul 2017 07:24:35
Easier than worrrel and Brereton it doesn't mean they aren't good players it just means in the hierarchy of preference of who I'd keep they aren't in the top two. I hope no one else goes but suspect they might if the noise about more incomings gets louder.

7.) 24 Jul 2017 09:18:52
2star. According to MW there more incomings, i'm hoping the current incumbents have more nouse than to listen to fans wanting more, and more signings or so called stella signings.

8.) 24 Jul 2017 09:20:41
Lam, Perquis, Luca, Stojkovic all need to go, sooner the better. Keep Ward, he's a good front utility player. If we get the Greek bloke, Bouchaklis. ? Then I reckon a CB and a LB will about sort us out.

9.) 24 Jul 2017 10:45:22
I think Hobbs has been told he can also find another club.

10.) 24 Jul 2017 11:09:23
What does that mean.? Have you seen it somewhere, or it is just what your opinion is. If you have seen it, where?

11.) 24 Jul 2017 22:41:35
I'm in utter disbelief there are people out there who don't see Osborne as one of our best players.

He's far superior technically that a lot of the squad and has such a high football IQ for a young player.

It's no accident that every manager we've had since he broke through has wanted to play him every game.

10 Jun 2018 07:46:19
Just watched jack Marriott goal compilation on YouTube, very impressive! However he looks like he operates in a very similar way to Cummings who has struggled here. Will Marriott prosper as a lone striker? Cummings is one thing but this guy is going to be very expensive!

1.) 10 Jun 2018 09:51:40
I’d put a bid in for Vydra.
If Marriott was 3 Million instead of 6 that would be more realistic.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 10:06:40
2star, due to the way Peterborough have attempted a bidding war, I don't think we'll sign him anyway. I imagine a Mendes client would offer better value to the club.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 10:17:03
Nobody knows if Marriott can cut it in championship.
For less or same money we could buy someone who as done it in championship.
I would not be offering 6m cash for him.
We should offer posh 3m plus some of our deadwood
Likes of walker grant clough Murphy ect

4.) 10 Jun 2018 10:40:04
Defo mate - that’s a good deal for them.

5.) 10 Jun 2018 11:07:54
2 star, said same a while back.Unless Karanka has a change of formation in mind it won't work with him up top on his own.

6.) 10 Jun 2018 14:46:48
I can’t see us changing Perks, can you? That said though there were a few games where we made the chances but couldn’t score - plenty in fact !

7.) 10 Jun 2018 18:01:32
No I can't. Someone like Sam Vokes would do me with Lolley and the 2 Portuguese lads around him.Goalkeeper, left back/right back need quality in there.Neither Darikwa or Lichaj are good enough, only as back up.

8.) 10 Jun 2018 23:39:13
We will be playing 3 at the back which means we have the option of 2 up front or 3-4-3 wich is why Ericwill be moved on!

9.) 11 Jun 2018 02:14:40
It will amaze me RIE if Karanka goes with 3 at the back.I really can't see this happening.

09 Jun 2018 10:41:18
I hope a left back is on the cards

1.) 09 Jun 2018 12:04:55
What about a striker?hope there not over 30

2.) 09 Jun 2018 14:52:11
No we just need more midfielders to go with the ten we already have🤔🤔

3.) 09 Jun 2018 15:08:45
Can any of them play left back?😁

4.) 09 Jun 2018 18:40:42
Some of them need "left back" to their former clubs!!! 😂😂😂

04 Jun 2018 10:35:43
Well hopefully the amount of speculation around strikers confirms that it’s right at the top of the list ! We need at least two additions, maybe three. Karanka needs to decide what he does with Walker, Murphy, Cummings, clough (as an attack minded midfielder) and Brereton. None of them looked like the answer last season and there is some really poor goals to games stats in there as well. I think we’d have got another nine points under Karanka with a decent striker. His style of play won’t work if the strikers aren’t clinical.

1.) 04 Jun 2018 11:00:57
It's looking good who were getting linked to 2star just hope the sig ings come off

2.) 04 Jun 2018 11:17:06
Yes some names in there who would make a different. I reckon

3.) 04 Jun 2018 16:31:48
The 2 Portuguese lads soudanI were half way there

4.) 04 Jun 2018 16:42:30
Having signed lolley on a perm is excellent. Tomlin made the difference in creativity and appears on the wanted list. So like 2star says a clinical striker is key. Getting goals takes the pressure off and that as we know was sadly missing again last season.

5.) 05 Jun 2018 13:50:12
I personally don't see the hype surrounding soudani.
Yes he bangs in goals for fun but surely a proven striker in a tougher league would be better?
The league he's in is now better than the Scottish Premier league.
Just look at MCkay and Cummings as an example.... Not fit for purpose.

03 Jun 2018 16:16:54
I’d be petrified if we spent 50 mil. Surely we shouldn’t need to spend that quantity of money.

1.) 03 Jun 2018 17:27:36
I agree. Shocked me when I saw it if I’m being honest. I’d be happy if we spent 10 million!

2.) 03 Jun 2018 17:55:40
With some of the other clubs having to restrict their spending due to FFP, we should take advantage.

3.) 03 Jun 2018 18:14:46
Recipe for disaster

4.) 03 Jun 2018 18:27:30
I don’t think we know enough about Karanka. 10 million this season, if he proves he’s got what it takes more the year after. I want to give him my full support but I think k it’s too big a risk to back him to that degree. Thoughts anyone?

5.) 03 Jun 2018 18:34:07
Weve had a shocking couple of years. Time to roll the dice and mix it with the big boys.

6.) 03 Jun 2018 20:27:36
The people saying it’s time to gamble or roll the dice need to remember that we have had an embargo for doing such things and everyone moaned about we really want to go back to a club flirting with embargo’s?How many of you would go out and gamble all your wages on one bet?you wouldn’t as that is YOUR money and you know what happens if the bet doesn’t come in.

7.) 03 Jun 2018 20:53:01
The difference now is we have experienced football people running the club who know what it's all about not Fawaz and his 'friends'.

8.) 03 Jun 2018 22:12:58
Huge gamble that could end in tears.....give him £15mill then see how ak fairs.
£13mill for the benfica player is alot.

9.) 03 Jun 2018 22:15:07
Come on Sutton you should be happy surely your man the chosen ☝ can bring us straight to the premiership with this backing mind you 10 games to get it right with this backing 😆

03 Jun 2018 10:24:54
I’ve just read an article about Oliver Burke. An interesting perspective and highlights 28m in transfers for someone that has only started 22 games. It also highlights how OB is back where he was 3 years ago, in the championship, playing youth football at international level. This story perhaps uncovers some of the things that are wrong with the great game. I wonder how he’s have faired if he’d have stayed with us?

1.) 03 Jun 2018 11:21:54
If his form dipped they would of been giving him abuse like they do with Osborn.hes had injuries since he’s left so it’s always been stop start for him.if he had stayed he may of picked up some injuries as well.nobody has a crystal ball to predict.he left and that’s that in My eyes.

2.) 03 Jun 2018 12:24:16
2 star he won't be complaining he's a millionaire.
He's fared quite well compared to most lads his age and for doing very little.
Wingers are often just a flash in the pan ,Franz Carr the perfect example.
All it shows is how overpaid footballers are.

3.) 03 Jun 2018 13:08:27
13 million looks good money at the minute.Clubs pay big money for potential. It's a gamble for both parties.

4.) 03 Jun 2018 14:02:06
13 million for Burke was a master stroke of business for a lad that is little more than quick and strong, sadly the only person to benefit from it was fawaz who it appears took the money out of the club

5.) 03 Jun 2018 18:36:24
I think there was more to him than just quick and strong.

6.) 03 Jun 2018 20:13:27
Billy as the great philosopher Clint Eastwood said
Opinions are like a** holes every body”s got one. That’s just mine hope he proves me wrong m

7.) 03 Jun 2018 20:38:02
Ha ha, quality retort! I did think he had enormous potential but doesn’t seem to have done much lately.

{Ed001's Note - he got nicknamed blank hard drive at RBL, as they would give him instructions but, unless they were incredibly simple he would struggle to follow them. Football intelligence seems to be his issue judging by that, rather than ability.}

One bad game? I agree though I’d prefer to see him loaned out for half a season and see what happens. There are defo players I’d sell before him.

Unless we change how we play I think we’d be wasting our money pal. I can’t see how he’d fit in Karanka style. Looks a cracking little player but so did Cummings. Do you see him playing the loan striker role ?

My word so sterling is still in the squad? I remember a few years ago watching a tournament and vowing not to watch one again if sterling and I think it was Welbeck were the best we have to offer ! Dreadful players and stunned either are anywhere near the team.

He was cack in my opinion. I’d take any of the names touted over him. He’s commanded ridiculous transfer fees and scored about 16 goals in 3 seasons. It’s a big fat no ya from me. That said I’ll support whoever we get but I’ll be disappointed if this is he striker we get after so many ineffective years in front of goal. I suppose it’s better than being subjected to Brereton every week
