Fawaz is trying to buy Charlton

2star

1.) 12 Sep 2018 22:47:46
Knowing our luck he'll be succesfull and get them to the prem,🙄🙄

2.) 12 Sep 2018 23:26:25
Which one, bobby or jackie?

3.) 13 Sep 2018 00:08:29
I hope this isn’t true

4.) 13 Sep 2018 00:23:54
He shouldn’t be allowed to buy a bag of crisps in this country let alone another football club

5.) 13 Sep 2018 01:04:18
Why are you getting worried?
Lol🙄🙄🙄

6.) 13 Sep 2018 07:36:11
For footballs sake (ffs) and would you want another set of fans to go through that?

7.) 13 Sep 2018 09:09:37
Usmanov-think that's how it's spell it is apparently interested in Charlton, can't see fawaw passing another fit and proper owner test.

8.) 13 Sep 2018 09:22:37
New job for King Billy on the cards😆

9.) 13 Sep 2018 13:21:59
Why is he coming back ,3rd time lucky!
CARLO

10.) 13 Sep 2018 16:17:54
The Forest club shop has just had a major sales windfall. Fawaz and his Bank Balance were spotted sneaking out the service bay with boxes of Fawaz sponsored Forest shirts bound for The Valley as part payment for the club!

Hopefully Karanka has seen that Darikwa and Benny are the weak links at full back in the first two outings. If we are to improve them it is surely ta ta benny and ta ta darikwa

2star

1.) 11 Aug 2018 01:01:15
Weak link if any has been not been capatilising on our chances and dominance. Darikwa i agree has been our worst player, hesitant and gives the ball away. But benny is solid as he is always. Say ta ta to our player of the season last season have a word.

2.) 11 Aug 2018 04:38:14
Dont get why you are so down on Osborn. Terrific little player wherever he plays.

3.) 11 Aug 2018 07:51:32
Benny is no leftback. Always gives it his all but falls over too much and makes poor decisions. He was runing back to the goal line instead of attacking the danger when wba scored. Darikwa just not a rightback either. When you play 3 5 2 you might get away with these 2 but in a back four not a chance. Why is Robinson not playing???.

4.) 11 Aug 2018 08:15:37
Spot on Rutland, Osborn puts in a shift but he isn't a left back, he runs round like a little terrier snapping at people's heals but all to often gets found out of position. Is the old debate around, what position is his position? Most people will say attacking mid but as you will see as the season goes on when the Portuguese lads start to gel, he ain't much good at that either. Work rate 110%, substance very much lacking.

5.) 11 Aug 2018 08:46:47
Shows how dreadful we were last season for Osborn to win player of the season. Excellent point made about not taking chances. however , all successful teams need to also defend narrow leads which we are incapable of doing. I’m not sure what game you are watching if you can’t see That Osborn and darikwa are the weak links at full back, which doesn’t make Osborn a bad player by the way , it just means he’s no fullback. Whether there is a place for hi. In the team elsewhere nowadays is a seperate debate altogether. Like Brereton and Worral we may find benny is only going to be third choice this season.

6.) 11 Aug 2018 11:24:23
Not sure all the criticism of the full backs is warranted to be honest after just two games against two sides that have the potential to finish in the top 6 all players need a number of games under their belt before they hit top form

7.) 11 Aug 2018 12:09:28
Redmarsh - he played at lb for much of last season and he hasn't adapted to the position through the summer, still the same frailties.

8.) 11 Aug 2018 14:05:56
Far too much nonsense has been going on over the last 2-3 years regarding Benny. He's one of our best players, but I guess these people just don't want to give up.

9.) 11 Aug 2018 14:46:15
Well bsered this will be the season where both veiws are put to the sword - we really will find out if Osborn is the player we think he is now we have some better ones than before .

07 Aug 2018 22:29:49
Get rid of lolley, darikwa and Osborn and we’ve got a team. Shows how far we’ve come for lolley to look so poor. Some of the old frailties still there.

2star

1.) 08 Aug 2018 00:34:31
What are you talking about lol that was a fantastic performance from everyone

2.) 08 Aug 2018 06:18:05
Lolly one of our better players, find it strange you would say that and Osborne has linked up very well with the Portuguese lads. In fact everybody seems to have raised their game. I wanted to get rid of Guedioura last season, look at him now!

3.) 08 Aug 2018 06:36:50
Lolley was fantastic, he just looked like he was lacking confidence in front of goal. I can understand however why AK wants another right back, he gave the ball away a lot. He's good on the counter attack but that's about it.

4.) 08 Aug 2018 06:55:52
Lolley played well. Agree about the right back though.

5.) 08 Aug 2018 07:37:30
Seriously need new right back! Why we let lichaj go and keep him is beyond me, good overall performance let down by darikwa. Gave the ball away to many times and can't make a decision when on the ball also afraid to take players on

6.) 08 Aug 2018 08:12:25
Our full backs looked like our weakest areas but we covered well. Darikwa just seemed to lose his head and composure.

7.) 08 Aug 2018 08:48:57
To me Darikwa just looks really nervous when the ball comes to him, and it makes me nervous watching him. I feel like he's going to give the ball away every time he gets it.

8.) 08 Aug 2018 09:01:20
I have to say I was very impressed with the performance last night, the result was unfair on us.
When was the last time forest played football with intent?
The results will come if we continue to play like that :)

9.) 08 Aug 2018 11:17:59
Spot on 2star. Those 2 as fullbacks simply woefull

10.) 08 Aug 2018 14:26:16
We showed signs of improvement over last season nice to see players able to dribble the ball movement looked after only problem is same problem as last year can't defend crosses and scoring goals we had enough chance to be 3 up by half him

11.) 08 Aug 2018 15:05:09
Byram will be our right back soon and Robinson will be left back if karanka continues with 4 at back. If not then back 3 of Dawson fig fox

12.) 08 Aug 2018 20:55:36
Lolley lacked the ability to be effective in the final third four times last night . Caught in 3 minds and failed to make the right call in very strong positions.

13 Jun 2018 23:11:54
Outgoings absolutely inevitable to fund the incomings.
Osborn, Worrall, clough, Walker grant, McKay, vellios, Cummings will all be sacrificed - maybe more.

I think we will keep Brereton and Yates

2star

1.) 14 Jun 2018 07:22:12
All be sacrificed?? 😂 I don’t generally like to knock players but that’s no great loss??? I would like to have seen more of Clough though

2.) 14 Jun 2018 08:11:57
Keep Worrall to learn from Dawson and AK,sell the rest imo

3.) 14 Jun 2018 08:50:59
Want to see more of Cummings and why get rid of Grant? He was brilliant at Notts and hasn't had a chance yet!

4.) 14 Jun 2018 09:52:03
I would like to keep Osborn and Worrall as well as Brereton and Yates. The others can go as soon as!!

5.) 14 Jun 2018 12:37:26
Worrall is a must keep!

Everything a C half should be and a future England captain. No brainer because he can step in at any point and do a very solid job.He always puts his body on the line and fights for the team.

How many of our young homegrown players can you say that about?

Osbourne, Worrall, cash and that's about it currently.

Certainly not BB! If we got a 10 million offer for BB I'd take it in a heartbeat. Don't think there is much chance of that happening after squandering his chances last season and learning the art of playing at swan lake.

I'd try to hang on to those three and strip the rest to bare bones to pay for the incoming new first team.

Be ruthless and get rid of the young players who have been out on loan perhaps with the exception of Walker who looks lively and has great ties to the club.
Grant not good enough! Would think about keeping Yates if he shows massive progress in pre season.
This season is about getting to the Prem and we need to go all out with all resources or we will fail!

We know who the good players are!

Smith (back up)

Lichaj
Figs
Dawson
Worrall
Lolley
Cash
Watson (just about)
Osbourne
Bridcutt

Guediora if he can recapture his form because let's not forget he'd been out for about 2 years prior to rejoining.
Looked nothing like the player of old but I think he deserves a chance because of his passion and physicality. He knows how to control a game late on.

And that's about it apart from a few squad players.

That's 11 players so we need another 11 to be top three material.

We need two strikers!
Two wingers
A left back
Two centre midfield
A first choice goalkeeper

As far as I'm concerned the rest of the players can leave or be prepared to fight for a chance on the bench.

Sell Mance, Murphy, Darikwa, Mckay, Brereton, Traore, Vellios, Clough, Cummings.

I make that about 18 million if you get 10M for Brereton.

Loan out or release Ward, Kapino, Evtimov, Henderson, Fuentes, Bouch, Lam, Ariyibi.
With the exception of Ward (who I really like) they have been proven not good enough.

6.) 14 Jun 2018 13:18:24
And before I get called out for saying Lichaj is good please remember that "good" does not mean skilful?

Good, to me, is a player who consistently performs to a high level everytime he is picked, no matter if they have been playing regularly or not.

If they are a good pro and fabulous ambassador then they should be cherished not shown the door.

Tomlin is a good player but I wouldn't sign him. Why? Because you just don't know what you're going to get. Level of performance should not depend on the mood he turns up in or how many pies got smashed in the pub with the lads.

All I know is that there is nothing wrong with the clubs money on wage day! Why should the players performance be any less consistent?

7.) 14 Jun 2018 13:45:05
Anything else you'd like to add no22😦

8.) 14 Jun 2018 14:14:43
Agree with that no 22 tomlin has got an attitude problem.
Plus a pie and chips one

9.) 14 Jun 2018 17:11:57
How do we know what any players attitude is like?

10.) 14 Jun 2018 17:12:30
Hope we don't sign any more players with an altitude problem😲

11.) 14 Jun 2018 18:57:22
His attitude is I'm great and don't need to work on fitness???
It shows if you watch.

12.) 14 Jun 2018 19:42:44
10 million for brereton?? Ha ha what, rupees?

13.) 14 Jun 2018 21:41:42
Billybong
Karanka rates him so get used to watching him.

14.) 14 Jun 2018 23:04:02
Our best players were fat lads who had no issues with their fitness despite their build. As for attitude they all had a winning attitude which raised everyone else's game!

10 Mar 2018 18:42:29
Armand Traore injured, Tyler walker not in squad at Bolton, clough warning the bench at Bolton and Mills not in the Barnsley team . Two words to say to AK. well done!

2star

1.) 10 Mar 2018 21:38:58
The amazing thing is that there are Forest fans who still rate them? But then they are still in the Warbo camp?
I still think Wing Nut will come good for the money we paid once we have a competitive team next season?
Agreed well done AK

2.) 10 Mar 2018 22:16:13
Ear Ear !
CARLO

3.) 10 Mar 2018 22:26:24
I with you on that Red. Still think Clough is a good player but never given a run of games under Warbo especially in the Tomlin/Dowell role.Another player Warbo used to like playing out of position.

4.) 10 Mar 2018 22:33:04
By wing nut you mean ZC ?

5.) 10 Mar 2018 22:57:09
Big ears will look better alongside a big noddy?😉

6.) 11 Mar 2018 01:08:28
Agree on Clough like many players he was played out of position dropped after times he played well and lost confidence under MW. Last season he was quality when he came in and scored some important goals if he can get come back in summer to a confident squad with better and wiser players and a good captain like Watson to help guide him he can still come good as is still young and if Tomlin doesn’t join us once Dowell leaves he could get his chance to shine next season in the number 10 role.
Still think Walker may have a future if he can put some muscle on as looked ok in the odd games but every season he has failed to improve since he first stepped up to first team it looks more like his level may be league 1/2 but still think we could give him another few seasons to see before writing him off completely. Mills was well past it and Traoure was inconsistent and trouble. Glad they are gone. Hope AK shifts a few more (Hobbs, Vaughan, Bouchalakis, Ward and Traoure permanently and even maybe McKay and Manchienne) in summer.

7.) 11 Mar 2018 01:49:52
Murphy 79?

8.) 11 Mar 2018 08:51:16
Bouchalakis ! I forgot about him! Yes bye mancienne for me too.

9.) 11 Mar 2018 12:36:27
Tyler Walker is the best finisher we have and would even be a good option today in my opinion (better than Murphy on current form).

If we can get £2M back for Clough great. Clough is decent but we need players capable of staying with us and growing if we are promoted and I doubt he is that level.

10.) 11 Mar 2018 17:42:40
Shame we didn't have sometrhing extra in attack. Vellios is NOT the answer. Sorry but it is the truth

Btw - Brentford cruised to another home win today - not much being given away at GP this season. Perhaps only a special team like Brentford would have beaten us two weeks ago?

2star

1.) 15 Sep 2018 20:55:46
I thought we aren't supposed to mention what other teams are doing or what happened in previous seasons

2.) 15 Sep 2018 21:56:23
Mention what you want for me other clubs, last season this season, next season if you feel it relevant.

3.) 16 Sep 2018 12:17:43
I always respect the opinions of all the posts on here even if I disagree with some of them ..Football is all about opinions isn't it ??
Well here's mine.
23 million spent this season
17 new players
Our youth players road to the 1st team now blocked as we have a ridiculously massive squad.
A manager who does not know his best starting 11.
Are we really saying as a team we have progressed at all in the last few years ??
In my opinion we haven't.
We stand 15th in the league today.
I am all in favour of progresion no matter how small...but I just don't see a clear plan going forward .
This league is tough but money alone won't get us promotion
A good team structure and some consistency in team selection will

4.) 16 Sep 2018 13:48:00
In fairness I think we have improved, the squad looks stronger in paper. And given a couple more games I think the team will click, AK will know his best 11 and matchday squad. People have the expectations of promotion because of the money spent. For me this season we must finish top 10. Then in summer add say 3 quality players and we’ll be there or there abouts next season. Our squad is capable of a top 6 push this season but in reality I expect top 10 and that is definitely achieveavle.
Overall I’d say there has been an improvement. It takes time for players to gel and once they have we’ll be a top team. But no promotion this season but next season we’ll have a real chance.

15 Sep 2018 18:18:51
Hope we sign the Iranian chap , sooner we dispense with Lewis Grabnone the better. Hopefully someone will take him on loan in January.

Some decent work in the transfer market but we are about the same as were last season aren’t we. Trouble is parity has cost 20+ million hasn’t it?

Tomlin would have been a better shout as he does make things happen.

2star

1.) 15 Sep 2018 18:51:30
One good game and you want him signed, if by some chance he plays in the next game and has a mediocre game then what.

Grabban has come back from injury and has not yet adjusted to the isolated player position.

Tomlin did not want to come as he is daft as a brush and thought the same manager (Warnock) that sent him on loan to us would play him in the PL,that idea really work out well for him.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 18:54:51
Does grabban play for forest 2star I didn't know that great forward scored plenty last season for a poor Sunderland should do well for us when does he start for us🤔😁

3.) 16 Sep 2018 00:59:56
grabban cannot play as a lone striker he needs a strike partner, wonder how many collymore would of got without roy and van hooijdonk without Campbell and Johnson without harewood, we are not a top team blessed with loads of creative forwards ie Liverpool, mancity etc we need to play 4/4/2 or at least 3/5/2 got to get more going forward, for me its boring football hoping to nick a 1-0

15 Sep 2018 17:23:36
When we look so ineffective in the final third 19 million spent on two attacking players really worries me, well done on the clean sheet though. A good team selection from the manager. It’s not his fault we have no bottle in the final third.

2star

1.) 15 Sep 2018 17:32:02
2 star of course it’s Karankas fault we have no bottle in the final third- it’s his team and he’s had the time and funds to put it right!
Sounds like we had slightly the better of it today but 1 league win so far this season about says it all really.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 17:34:02
2 star it is his fault as the lone ranger doesn't suit the players we have.
Good pressing game today ,but we simply don't create much whoever plays.

3.) 15 Sep 2018 17:57:28
Managers tactics and team choice. krankies fault.
Grabban can score but with Krankies style his confidence will take a beating.
Sort it senor karanka.

4.) 15 Sep 2018 18:12:00
I have to bow to your knowledge having Been at the game mate, that said I do implicitly trust Steve Hodges opinion and he said we had more than enough chances to win the game today.

15 Sep 2018 09:19:00
Cjay, what is the definition of class , his price tag, his potential, his output? He doesn’t influence games and he should for 13 million. As for Dias and Goncalves - I can’t see them being here past January to be honest, a whole bunch of players we could have signed who are much better.
Soon enough Something will give, a new manager will arrive and these players will be what you say they are or Aitor will see the three amigos are digging his grave .

2star

1.) 15 Sep 2018 10:54:06
We went very direct since Guediouras injury, even without any effective supply from the back & Murphy struggling to compete for him in front. Carvalho has still shown touches of class that suggest its us that needs to get it right for him not the other way round.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 11:10:30
Calvalho does look in flashes class.
Also Dias as. But until we start picking the right formation and defence and midfield. Not both Watson and colback.
We will struggle to see or get the best out of calvalho Dias.
Karanka as a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal but insists on setting his teams up to not lose and pinch odd winning goal. This clearly isn't working.
If karanka doesn't alter his mind set. He will be gone.
With the players we've got we should be letting the opposition worry bout us.

3.) 15 Sep 2018 11:20:59
Setting up not to lose is a myth, that said, why would a side in transition go for it anyway, didn't we learn nowt under MW.

Until we get the basics right, we'll set up to compete for 90 mins.

Think there's an inference here we've got the best side in the league so we roll teams over. Takes a bit more planning than that.

4.) 15 Sep 2018 11:22:48
Dias roams all over the place, is lightweight and very little end product. Rarely gets a shot on target. His goal agaknst newcastle tho well taken is a rarety. Carvalaho again comes too deep and leaves murphy stranded. He is also slight and just fades. If any of the 3 amigo's had the tenacity and finishing qualities of cash then things might be different.

5.) 15 Sep 2018 11:26:23
Spot on red always, you reap way you sow

6.) 15 Sep 2018 11:47:53
Is Carvalho not coming deep to get the ball? Wouldn't be too quick to offer that as a negative on the player.

7.) 15 Sep 2018 12:04:24
Cj your hearts in the right place.👍

8.) 15 Sep 2018 12:12:32
Cjay carvalaho comes deep because he cannot stay where he should be and support tge big man up front. He should be the link, like tomlin was last season. He also plays too many balls backwards as does Dias. Cash and osbourne are much much better and effective at present. No doubt carvalaho has nice touches but as the old saying goes you have to earn the right to play the fancy football.

9.) 15 Sep 2018 11:55:26
Setting up not to lose is a myth?
If that's so tell Manuel that?
His teams are defensively set up relying on attacks built up from the defence.
Krankie is scared to attack.
This to me shows a lack of footballing knowledge and tactical ability.
He's had more than enough time to find the right combination with his team but he adds more players to the squad?
It doesn't take a genius to see he failing.

10.) 15 Sep 2018 12:36:26
Touches of brilliance doesn’t justify 13 million outlay. He has scored any goals , is he many assists ? Karanka is a good manager but he’s made bad signings or perhaps it’s true that he hasn’t signed them and he’s trying his best as a right handed man to write with his left hand. Something isn’t right here and it’s difficult to defend the manager and the players in the same breath. 13 million badly spent at the minute making us a bit of a laughing stock again at the moment .

11.) 15 Sep 2018 12:45:39
"His teams are defensively set up relying on attacks built up from defence"

Show me a team that aint, but your conveniently ignoring the fact Murphy, Carvalho, Lolley, Cash all press the opposition high to win posession back.

You sure you understand what your watching?

6 games to nail your best eleven lol, with your best man at the base & striker injured. Your breaking my ribs mate.

12.) 15 Sep 2018 12:53:03
Karankas too defensive or Carvalhos not doing it offensively? can't be both, which is it?

13.) 15 Sep 2018 13:41:05
Karanka

Osborn generally takes good dead balls. Last night he proved what a cracking player he is. I wish he’d have buried his chances Saturday and last night , he got in some excellent positions and his flick was the brilliance behind the second goal. Time we all gave him he respect he deserves, I felt player of the season last season perhaps reflected how poor we’d been but that takes nothing away from Osborn and his exemplar performances consistently - glad we’ve not sold him.

Stevie, this whole thread is totally irrelevant, I guarantee you Marinakis will pull the trigger if results don’t improve. I like Karanka so I hope they do, I think i we’ve made some random signings that aren’t ‘his type’ and lament we have a 34 year old Murphy rather than 30 year old Murphy. A 30 year old Murphy would smash it in this system. All that said though - wow 😮 that is a really poor win % isn’t it? I assume we a high draw % rather than an extremely high defeat %? In any case Karanka will know he needs to secure more victories in the next few weeks is the rarity of victories is a fact that can’t be ignored and certainly not what I thought we’d expect when we made the appointment - which was the best we could have made at the time.

One less than Grabnone has had red. Not even looked like scoring. I’m sure there are other strikers who would have slotted into our style much more than he does. Gestede suigs our style better. Even you have to concede the signings suggested a certain type of football that got us all excited in the summer. We are not playing the style that the signings suggested so why didn’t we sign players to suit the chosen formation / style. That’s my gripe with Forwar at the moment why spend a bomb on the wrong type of players ? It just doesn’t make any sense .

Hence the reason why those early concession of goals had to stop for the plan to work - heff has been the differentiator in stopping us conceding early goals - it really was holding us back.
Regarding Carvalho he didn’t run the game at all Cjay, what you want to happen or foresee could happen is different to what actually happened. As I said last night he grew into the game and gave glimpses of his talent I think it’s very possible he could dictate games - it’s inaccuraye to say he did that last night but he did do 100% better than he has since the WBA game. A thumbs up from me for carvalho for making the improvements necessary for a player with whom we’ve put a lot of faith in by spending a club. Record 13 million on.

Agree Fred- Dias looks loads better with Janko behind him - 10 decent mins isn’t enough to sell him to me in one hit but I felt there was promise tonight. I was cursing carvalho but he really grew into the game late in the first half and I had a feeling he’d have a good second half. Still seems like we have another couple of gears that we don’t know we have !
