Tobias figurerido from Sporting in Portugal is to be first signing on loan with a 2.3mil option in the summer.

Oh dear.
If that's the best we can do, we're in trouble.
We have a 21 year old with a bid of 10 million he's 23 and played Mickey mouse football in b sides.

2.) 30 Jan 2018 07:22:20
As usual, if this is true can we at least try to give the guy a chance?
Who knows what Karanka can do with him, to get the best out of him?
Our fan base seem intent on destroying people before they’ve even kicked a ball in our colours. The manager must see some potential, so roll with it.
Just remember, Sir Brian built a side of misfits in to Champions of Europe.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 08:24:35
We need experience centre back not a kid from sporting B side who they want rid of to replace him with someone out of their academy.

4.) 30 Jan 2018 08:58:11
No offence, FF79, but I'm going to trust the former Real Madrid defender over you on this one. I just feel that maybe he has a little more knowledge on the subject of Portuguese centre halves.

5.) 30 Jan 2018 11:55:41
FF79 - Karanka knows better than you and will see this as an improvement to Mills. No brainer.

6.) 30 Jan 2018 12:02:07
Of course he knows more than me and you and everyone else on here.
I'm just stating this guy has no pedigree as a player and we will have to pay 2.5 million at the end of the loan wether he's good or not.
Just a gamble to me.

7.) 30 Jan 2018 12:33:15
everything is a gamble but hopefully AK is a better more knowledgeable gambler than us and previous managers/owners. or shall we just stick with an experienced defender - MattMills has got a few years behind him lol

8.) 30 Jan 2018 12:53:03
FF79 what do you mean we will have to pay 2.5 million for him at the end of the loan?

This is a win-win situation for Forest with a 'try before you buy' player and if any good then pay the money. If not thank him for his services whilst on loan and ship him back.

9.) 30 Jan 2018 12:57:13
FF79 We are not buying from Crufts so what's all this pedigree nonsense? You must be on the stellar!

There are very few British defenders that can play the ball out from the back which is why we end up with spares like Mills?

Leeds and Huddersfield have done very well signing 2nd tier but hungry defenders who have hit the ground running and I seem to recall Ayala came from BarcaB and slotted straight in.

AK brought a host of unknowns to Boro and did the business!

10.) 30 Jan 2018 13:14:43
We have to buy him even if he flops.lts not try before you buy.
Ayala went to Liverpool from sevilla first then Norwich then us hull the sheep all on loan then Boro.
I just don't think he'll be right for what we need right now that's all.

11.) 30 Jan 2018 13:47:51
FF79 where have you seen that we are having to buy however he gets on with us, or are you making assumptions?

12.) 30 Jan 2018 13:52:44
Telegraph and a paper in Portugal saying we have to buy him.
Sporting have been trying to sell him all season but wanted nearer 4 million and didn't want a loan deal.

13.) 30 Jan 2018 14:37:42
ff79 - so we've got a bargain??

14.) 30 Jan 2018 14:47:53
We'll see 2 tone,time will tell.
Only other interest was Leeds, but they cooled over the deal.
Like I say hope he turns out to be a great player for us,just got my doubts about him coming from Portugal b league to the champioship and hitting the ground running.

15.) 30 Jan 2018 16:23:13
Is FF79 still being pessimistic about players he has never seen play. God you must be depressed mate.

It will be a good signing based on what my Portuguese mate has told me. Apparently their Academy is even better than ours.

16.) 30 Jan 2018 16:50:51
Well cyclist you said it academy player.
My mate lives in albufeira and I go regular over there and the league is not a strong one.
Hope your right and he turns out great,we should find out soon enough.
Think I'm entitled to be pessimistic about a 23 year old whose only played 4 games for sporting and was at nacional last season when they were relegated.
All about opinions mate and that's mine

17.) 30 Jan 2018 17:21:35
the trouble is you're pessimistic about everything. Unfortunately the club are not in the market for expensive Premiers league quality central defenders with Champiionship experience because we don't wish to return to a transfer embargo under FFP.

The only way we can finance that kind of player is to sell Worrall? Brereton perhaps? Or would that be stupid based on the fact that they will be worth at least £20M in a couple of years?

It is good mamnagement to use the rest of this season to test players who won't cost the Earth. If it turns out they are good enough we might go up without breaking the bbank. If they are not then we won't ruin next seasons promotion bid finding out.

Simple really

18.) 30 Jan 2018 17:30:13
Oh, and he isn't just an "academy player". He has played in their top division 22 times with National and also played for Sporting in the top division.

19.) 30 Jan 2018 17:35:44
Who said anything about signing premiership players?
I'm quite happy to see the season out with no signings and get players in in the summer when the deadwood gone a much better window to buy in.
So on yer bike

20.) 30 Jan 2018 18:11:42
And miss out on potential great signings and the chance to try and buy if they are good.

Sometimes you just need to be positive. Right, I have a match to play in.

21.) 30 Jan 2018 21:38:03
Seen him play both in Olympics and for Portugal under 23s and he looks decent just hope he isn’t replacement for Worral!

22.) 31 Jan 2018 07:09:10
FF79 I will apologise now re my try before you buy post.

Are we going for a new starting eleven,
Good after last nights performance.

30 Jan 2018 21:55:44
Just got back from freezing my bottom for that, the worst performance for many a year I've seen at the city ground, there should have been an award for the worst man of the match, get some new signings in quick.

Marinakis will be smashing some plates tonight. OPA uuureds
Like I've said this is a good squad, it was just poorly managed.

1.) 20 Jan 2018 17:07:56
here here, been saying that all season MW was
trying to be clever and it blew up in
his face but like i and many others have
said in this division all you
need is a man who can get you promoted
and good players, not rocket science
really,if to late for the playoffs this season
then hopefully a good season next.

20 Jan 2018 15:49:47
Well who would of expected that,
Like I said, keep the faith.

Demis
I had a feeling the chilly winter would put the wind up those Sunshine boys in gold.

Great performance even better than I thought it might be?

20 Jan 2018 14:12:01
It's a different line up and not what you would expect, Fox at left back, shows Traore isn't first choice, and wasn't impressed with his performance against villa, Vellios on the bench and should come on at some point, hopefully gets the winner.

Demisroussosred

1.) 20 Jan 2018 14:29:51
Fox at left back shows he hasn't seen him play there,he's total pants.

2.) 20 Jan 2018 14:35:02
It also has Bricutt and Bouchalakis in midfield, so already he seems to be looking at strengthening the cover for the fullbacks. Looks like a good line-up to me.

3.) 20 Jan 2018 14:57:03
It’s about the best he has at his disposal tbh. Apart from starting with Velios, AK has seen the squad this week and obviously feels the players he’s picked are most likely to achieve a result. Fox is not the best as we all know but Traore was awful last week so no surprise he doesn’t start. Bit worried we might get a good beating though.

Not great today, poor linesman decisions didn't help, surely AKs luck will change, there's a lot of players that have come into the squad and will need time to gel, and get to know there team mates, the same happened at boro,
I'd expect some changes against Burton, Fox Manc Osborne and Dowell on the bench.

He's assembled a formidable midfield one that protects the defensive but can also create, and for me that's been our problem all season and no matter how good a striker is, if we don't create we are not going to score many.
Come Saturday we are going to see a new forest era and not dire football that we've been used to.

For Fulham this will be a tricky game,
How do you prepare not knowing the line up, I haven't got a clue who's going to start today, come 5:45 we all might be surprised, I'd be happy with a draw, if we win I might have a few beers tonight.

10mil for worrall, the worlds gone mad, looks like its been rejected, he is a prospect and says he wants to stay, but he is prone to mistakes, if decent replacements are found in three or four positions with the money and a bit more experience, this is what the side needs, I'm all for nurturing young players but we ain't going to be consistent and challenge with kids, and before you spit your dummies out look at the average age of the teams in the top four.

Brereton isn't a winger, he is still very young and needs to time learn his trade, there's to much pressure put on the poor kid, Murphy will be back soon and hopefully Vellios will finally get his chance, that's actually a nice balance. It's not all doom and gloom Aitor and his new team will improve these players and I'm sure who ever they bring in will improve the balance of the team. Disappointed about the result but I did say Vellios given a chance will score so I'm very happy for him, hopefully Tuesday he'll get a longer run out and score.
