Early signs not good this season. Can't score. Mid table at best I'm afraid. See you next year.

DevonianRed

1.) 14 Aug 2018 22:53:57
🤣👍 thanks for coming

2.) 14 Aug 2018 23:54:55
id rather get the jittery performances out the way 1st up as the last 2 seasons we've started really well.

3.) 15 Aug 2018 07:05:47
Blooming hell. .11 changes. Never played together before. Down to 10 men. Hey we won 👋

4.) 15 Aug 2018 09:58:29
Spot on Red_Dog, apart from our normal early goal gift and Smith's red card, what else were the 10 men expected to do? Somehow we've snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat. Some of our fans need to lower their expectations and take a chill pill. 43 games to go and still in both cups. FTID.

5.) 15 Aug 2018 10:28:34
I agree Scouse. It's the early stages of the league cup and lots of managers treat it with contempt. It's not for me to say whether that is right or wrong and I certainly will not be hyper analytical about last night's performance. The result went out way it really is that simple.

6.) 15 Aug 2018 10:42:39
Our way!

7.) 15 Aug 2018 10:56:26
Quick, Panic. Our B Team who had never played together before just got through to the second round of the League Cup! OMG! Quick, let's give up on the first team now even though we won with 10 men.

Really, get a grip mate. :)

8.) 15 Aug 2018 13:26:47
Well said rc

9.) 15 Aug 2018 13:50:28
You lot are like Corbyns momentum, the slightest hint of criticism and your on having a go .have a look at that ‘b’ team again and tell me how many championship clubs would like it,let alone bury, even before we went down to 10 there was very little happening, I think we will be ok , but you spend the money this blokes spent and pressure and expectation will naturally follow. And don’t think the owner won’t get twitchy if it doesn’t come together quickly either, the Devon lad was only having his say ,so why not just let him have it without taking the mick or trying to be clever?

10.) 15 Aug 2018 14:00:53
Agreed!!!

11.) 15 Aug 2018 15:30:10
To be clear, I completely disagree with the first sentance in this thread. The early signs are positive!

12.) 15 Aug 2018 15:34:37
I'd also add that we are still in both cups, undefeated and in the play-off places. We have the strongest squad in ages and there are goals in this team. Great news!

13.) 15 Aug 2018 16:04:21
We are not going to win against every team we are expected to beat but we will win more than we lose or draw and we will make progress.

Whether that progress is good enough for some remains to be seen but starting a "feeding frenzy" on the team, manager and individual players every time we concede a goal or miss a chance or lose a game is not going to get us to where we all want to be.

We are not going to be the best team in the league but we are going to be better than most. So sit back and enjoy the ride instead of undermining all the hard work and progress off the pitch by demanding/predicting change of personnel at every twist and turn!

May 2019 is the time to vent the spleen if the collective expectation is not met. Feeding a baying mob never got us anywhere?

14.) 15 Aug 2018 16:47:37
I totally agree Redinexile.Knee-jerk reactions are very counterproductive and sometimes even dangerous! Just to remind those of you spouting negativity we've played four games in ten days with virtually a new squad!

15.) 15 Aug 2018 16:48:13
How many times have we had an unbelievable start to the season and ended up nowhere? I remember Andy Reids last game for us, getting injured against Derby. Pretty sure we were top of the table before that game and some of us had already assumed we were going up - season then went downhill from there. Just because we start a certain way doesn't mean we play like that all season. Anyway, 4 games in a week and a half and unbeaten in 90 mins (just!), it's a long old season and we're only just getting started. And we look far more solid at the back than when relying on Matt Mills!

16.) 15 Aug 2018 17:38:24
Woah there Stevie boy - calm down 😳 he was implying that he’d given up on the season already (see you next season) whichever way you look at it that isn’t coming from a fan whose anything but a knee jerker and look where that’s got us over the last few years. Surely we’ve got to give everyone more than 3-4 games to prove themselves??

17.) 15 Aug 2018 18:07:58
2tone please point out anywhere in any of my above posts where I said anything overly critical of the team or manager but there seems a lynch mob mentality with some on here with any one who doesn’t agree with them, you can disagree without taking p***

18.) 15 Aug 2018 18:12:12
3 league games and 1 cup match without defeat and the panic button hasn't just been pressed it's been smashed to bits. 13 new players in would take time for any manager to find his best 11 especially when you throw into the mix the 20 or so players that were already at the club with a big percentage of that 20 all vying for a first team place. Give the team chance to get to know each other. Unfortunately they won't gel as quick as Figgy and Foxy did.

19.) 15 Aug 2018 18:12:40
Spot on 2tone!

20.) 15 Aug 2018 18:27:35
Stevie I wasn’t talking about any of your posts relating directly to the team - I was talking about you appearing to back someone who is prepared to throw the towel in after less than 6 games - sorry but as far as I’m concerned that wouldn’t come from a supporter. Disagree with team selection, tactics etc and offer alternatives but to just throw the towel in??? Not my idea of support

21.) 15 Aug 2018 18:33:23
Taking the pi** on this site is legit buddy. Your comments were about as knee jerk as they get so expect more of it if you keep having a fit whenever someone takes the Mickey.

22.) 15 Aug 2018 20:00:56
Red cyclist well I won’t sleep tonight worrying about that,my life doesn’t revolve on how many thumbs up or down I get on here unlike some it seems, enjoy being leader of the happy clappers must make you feel really important, don’t waste your time trying to wind me up ,

23.) 15 Aug 2018 22:19:45
Yeah Pack it in red biker, there’s no way you’ll wind up Stevie 😳

24.) 15 Aug 2018 22:58:04
Don’t you start 😊

25.) 16 Aug 2018 11:35:14
Yep 2tone, I'll try my hardest to continue failing to wind Stevie up. :)

26.) 16 Aug 2018 13:12:44
Red cyclist fire away mate am chilled relaxed and looking forward to a good day of cheap beer in and around Wigan , nothing in the world you could say could wind me up ,could it??🤬

Leeds on another planet in every department. Forest just a lightweight tippy tappy mess i'm afraid.

DevonianRed

1.) 26 Aug 2017 19:48:14
Disappointing yes mate. however our "Tippy tappy" football, has served us well thus far,yes like all on here I'm frustrated.Hopefully we'll finally sign a decent CB.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 19:58:17
Ref fell fall all of Leeds gamesmanship aswell. We seemed tentative in running at them, then by trying to play safe at times we just played ourselves into trouble.

3.) 26 Aug 2017 20:04:08
Tippy tippy fans and lightweight at that some of them

4.) 26 Aug 2017 20:31:17
Sometimes you have to accept that a team does a job.
Leeds did that today and even for two defenders making mistakes we didn't create anything.
The most you could have got was nil nil.
But that's not the Warburton way.
We'll either win or lose ,no inbetweens.
But I'm all for it,but

15 Aug 2017 22:22:54
I remain astonished that we have not strengthened the defence this summer. It is an unforgivable error. It's no good buying a load of attacking players and hoping to outscore the opposition. It all begins with the defence. It's not sexy. But that is the springboard.
McKenna + Morgan + Wilson + Camp = 3rd place finish. Not a coincidence.

DevonianRed

12 Aug 2017 18:55:23
It's montanier all over again. Bags of goals scored, hopeless defence. We will be found out.

DevonianRed

1.) 12 Aug 2017 19:15:15
If we are found out you will really have something to moan about Mr Meldrew. l.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 19:31:24
When we went 3-1 up, seconds later we nearly made it four. never been so relaxed Listening to a forest match, then Brentford make it 3-2.alarm bells start to ring, then we score again! So I'm sunning myself on my decking, with the headphones on thinking "surely that's it, relax Rogie" then we get suckered, tell you one thing, we are one good CB away from being a real force, if we don't manage to get one in, all I'm saying is I'm glad my wife's a nurse! 🚑🚑🚑.

21 Jul 2017 12:28:29
I am beyond astonished that we are not concentrating on strengthening our hopeless defence in this transfer window.
#relegation dogfight.

DevonianRed

1.) 21 Jul 2017 12:37:38
The transfer window is not shut yet, calm down.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 12:43:20
How do u no we are not after any defenders just because we're not linked to any doesn't mean we're not looking at any let mw and fm do there jobs keep the faith and let's stop with the doom and gloom you redssss.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 15:50:48
Bridgford lower, it's not doom and gloom it's very worrying that as soon as we are linked to a striker it is all over the rumour sites, but nothing is being rumoured about defenders, all we have heard is a perhaps, maybe, about the Aussie geezer from Burton, MW might be thinking 💭 he can manage with what we have I bl--dy hope not, he saw the shambles it was last season, so i hope you are right and there is activity behind the scenes to bring in a couple of good defenders or the starting 11 will be goalies and strikers 😎😀.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 17:19:57
When you think about it individually our defenders are ok: Smith a more than decent keeper, Lichaj - Mr consistent, Mancienne (when fit) quick with good anticipation, Worrall - a huge talent in the making. We now need a reliable left back. Do we think poor defensive team play rather than back 5 mistakes were responsible for our terrible record last time?

5.) 21 Jul 2017 17:47:52
If Warburton can get Mills, Hobbs, Manchienne and Traoure all fit and playing to their best then we would be ok I think (even if he can get Lam to up his game) but against County there were gaps still as there were last season. We chopped and changed the defence too much last season. For me right now we need a quick, strong centre back who is vocal and experienced and cover/ competition at full backs. Justin James (if signed) would provide cover at both left and right back. but the only rumour I have heard about a experienced centre back was Hector on loan which has gone quiet. Someone like him or Grant Hadley is what we need. unless MW thinks he can get Mills playing like he did in his Reading days or Hobbs did in his Hull and early Forest days. If we can keep the ball better in midfield it will help. We looked better for that last season under MW when Cohen and Vaughan were fit and playing if they can play more games and if we sign a few new midfielders (Irvine, Bouchalakis, Perry- Ruddock) or if kids like Cash or Edser push on or if Manchienne or Lam start playing in more forward role (I think both are more suited to Defensive Midfield than CB personally) who knows.

6.) 21 Jul 2017 18:50:45
Correct me if I am wrong but these were the same defenders under douggie freedman who were excellent the season before last we just couldn't score that year
Then the chopping and changing happened with a different defence every game
So hopefully MW can do something with them.

7.) 21 Jul 2017 19:34:48
Its all part of MW jigsaw its taking time but its slowly coming together in Hobbs if he can stay fit and healthy there ain't many better in the championship a couple more significant signing, s we'll be OK next season top half hopefully better one never know, s its going to be a tough old league I think we'll do OK.

8.) 21 Jul 2017 19:41:41
Where you have gone wrong is those defenders also had our midfield right in front of them rather than in midfield. If you can organise them properly having 8 in defence is easier not to concede.

9.) 21 Jul 2017 19:51:44
Typical season not started its already doom and gloom maybe certain people on here would have been happier if we'd had been relegated then we'd all have something to moan about.

10.) 21 Jul 2017 20:55:12
66. It amazes me is how some posters love to use the term doom and gloomers every time someone shows some concern. Yes the are some that come out and talk about relegation before a ball is kicked, which i feel is over reacting, but those that are stating a sensible concern are not doom and gloomers. As for my post is concerned about DF it is factal in that he did have 8 in defence and expected the midfielders to do too much as they were sat just in front of our defence.

11.) 21 Jul 2017 21:50:37
Well if we play 1,8,2 formation and win promotion I for one will be happy I was just stating that we are pre assuming what will happen only time will tell after fawaz I personally believe its time to back what ever MW does if its successful only time will tell not presumption in my humble opinion.

12.) 22 Jul 2017 06:24:25
The last game of the season sums it up for me. First half lacked confidence, sat too deep and ipswich ran midfield. The pen changed everything. Second half we played 20 yrds higher up the pitch with more confidence. Vaugn and Worral started hitting them with hard tackles and we played them off the park. Confidence is key. Push up the pitch we look good. Sit deep we are a shambles.

29 Aug 2016 13:06:30
To those people moaning about the sale of Oliver Burke. Forest have been in this position many times - FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE. I. E Approaching a club smaller than us, waving a large wad of cash, and stealing their best players. Were you moaning when we stole Collymore from Southend? How about when we stole Cohen and Davies from Yeovil? Or more recently Paterson from Walsall? No you weren't moaning.
This is football. Forest are a medium sized club who will never ever be able to hold onto their best players for any length of time. £13 million for a player who has barely played in the first team and remains completely unproven is a fabulous piece of business. We should be laughing all the way to the bank.

DevonianRed

1.) 29 Aug 2016 13:19:51
Clough even took Keane from a little Irish club, and he did not look out of place in a Manchester United side.

2.) 29 Aug 2016 13:35:11
Burke would have been pivitol this season. His pace and versatility immense. To sell makes little sense as any replcement will have a fee and bigger wages. This is a player that will be worth £60 mill very soon.

3.) 29 Aug 2016 13:38:28
Trouble is you don't win games by having money in the bank. Would any player with any ambition want to join Forest at this stage of the season?

4.) 29 Aug 2016 13:43:01
It's not the selling of Burke that matters it is the way it was done by Al-Hawasi, saying he is staying then flogging him, like smilling at you whilst stabbing you in t back, he did it with Antonio he will do it with Britt he can't be trusted to keep his word, find a decent buyer and just go. The latest is that DoF has not resigned so some good news😎.

5.) 29 Aug 2016 14:06:18
Antionio wanted to talk to West Ham you'll find.
It's football and the nature of the business. 13m for unproven championship teenager is serious money.
He is not currently worth that money to be honest. It's all about potential and he needs to prove it over the coming years.

Osborn only has one foot. He must play left side or not all.
