Daryl Murphy not too bad. Clearly given his age he has the experience to pass down. His fitness can't be an issue, if he's passed medical. So MW looking not to spend too much (which DM's age dictates) but to find a striker with a slightly different style to BA. A box presence to draw defenders and make gaps. Youth is the future but BB still needs a bit more time. DM will permit this, so MW knows what he's doing imo. As an aside, DM is a humble chap. bumped into him at Bolton (a) season before last.

Great signing, he will be good for this season. The 3 year contract is questionable but his agent will have dictated that.

Massive praise to GB and all the lads. GB does wonders with the academy set-up and clearly is priceless in this role; and imo his best value is here whilst always being available in times like these. Vellios on the bench and back to being in contention (good), game time for clough and cashy outstanding again. So many positives. Eric needs a new deal asap.
Bring on the Villa - back to business!

Thought Brazil came over very well in the post match interview. spoke a lot of sense.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 19:17:26
"Pat Rice,!!!David O'Leary!!,Robert Pires!!!,Tony Adams!! Are you watching??!! Are you watching??!!" "Your boys took one helluva beating!!!"

{Ed007's Note - You forgot Terry Henry. I've hated him for so long (20 years) and with a passion I usually reserve for Rangers players!}

3.) 07 Jan 2018 19:43:48
Like I've said before, this is a very good squad, players playing in the right positions and tactics were spot on from Gary Brazil, it's a shame Vellios didn't get a cameo if Worrall didn't see red I'm sure he would have.
Brereton was on fire today playing to his strengths and Lichaj second goal should be goal of the round, get him signed up ASAP.
Any prospective Manager watching that must be excited, whoever it is keep the unity and keep it simple.

Ed007

Yes Henry was a handy player. 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁.

{Ed007's Note - It's his smug wee peanut headed face man! I'd love to punch him - and more than once!}

Cheers Ed, not words I would've used but made me chuckle.😂👍

{Ed007's Note - :)

I for one just hope today that we keep a clean sheet. DW as a ex pro defender should have been able to nail this down but he didnt. If MW hadn't been sacked then i would of at least fired his #2 - & looked for a turnaround. But they came & left as a pair! It's vital to not ship goals as at least you've got a chance - look at what big Sam resolved asap at Everton & DF before. Switch cap to Eric, MM is like a quiet little mouse & Eric has shown he will address things when reqd (PM).Give MW his due, we play better (excl Sunderland) thann before, just need to be more direct in the final third & LESS PREDICTABLE - formation/goalie rollouts etc.

What a result! Another clean sheet with Eric in play & best of all against chipper chappy Mr Holloway. I bet our 'crisp' play upset him - good.

A win & a clean sheet. just. Still in the top half, so all to play for. PLUS finally the MotM per the scoreboard was the right choice.

In trying to be positive, great to have Eric back & for some time i have been impressed with Bennys' corner ball deliveries into the box (Sheff U incld). Otherwise. best I change the subject.

Osborn was quality today.he ran all game and was always wanting the ball which helped the team out massively.having a player that makes space and is always showing for the ball takes huge pressure of if those players are happy to play a short simple ball.

2.) 16 Oct 2017 08:15:16
Osbourne was buzy but gave the ball away too easy and his corners were woefull.

Spot on & he was capt too. Lead from the front, no.
I just hope he finds the sights of Burnley pleasing to the eye.

Imo benny Osborne for Lansbury.
I gather he was good today but disappointing that the Villa come to town,for him to re-awaken.
I would be glad to be wrong if he can now give performances like this week on week. Last yr he was better known for cards.
Either push on or push off (for good fee/player swap), either way for the better of the reds midfield.

Clayton to replace Vaughn, simply due to his Vaughn's age. But at the right price.

Imo Fox deserves more praise than criticism. At times he was woeful (like others - Kasami etc) but then got frozen out of the team completely; like a leper. He got back in, got switched to CB & put in some outstanding (yes) efforts.He has been professional throughout with no dummy spitting & interviews well. A clean sheet vs Burton & Fox played. Imo he is first 11.

i agree. I feel no one dares jump on Worrall's case and it is Mills, Mills, Mills fault. DF conceded v few with Mills, so what's changed?
When Mills is switched out we still concede a plenty. Imo Worrall does a lot of good work but is too often caught out over-committing when he need not. He gets caught flat footed or pulled to help a team mate, when he should hold back & then leaves wide open holes - too eager through inexperience.
Mills & Hobbs may not be the quickest, & Fox not too keen to push up, but maybe this is good as when any 2 of these 3 play CB at least they 'stay' & don't get caught out. Sorry for me Worrall needs time out.

Tshibola was dire imo. He was only making safe 6 yrd passes or falling over looking for the fouls because he was inept. For a big lad, i see why GB gave him a run out against Norwichs established midfield but Matty would have given better cover to the defence. It was the lack of cover as to why Foxy started playing more upfield as he was constantly under the cosh. Hobbsy can't push up as he is too slow getting back. DF cross field passes were to push Norwich back and get us attacking as we had no midfield. that's why Norwich were firing spectacular shots away from the midfield. Tshi bull rubbish was my impression of him after one game. GB left him on as the game had gone and tuesday is another chance for someone else imo.

LC had his time with us and went under a bit of a cloud. Move on, Worrall and co is the future.
