I was at the games at Chelsea and Reading, have 2 season tickets, despite living in London. Watched Forest since, 1963. We were totally dominated at Chelsea and were totally appalling at Reading, with several players out of their depth.

I can accept not having ability/ skill, but can never accept lack of attitude or desire, which several players have in this current " team ".
The appointment of MON, hopefully with RK, will shake the tree.
The great Forest teams, had masses of attitude, desire and will to win, as a minimum MON will install this, we have a chance to move forward, we have a chance to get promotion, by making this speedy appointment.

Sadly i can't see RK coming as his assistant this time :-(

2.) 14 Jan 2019 13:41:53
Apparently we are in talks with Roy Keane

3.) 14 Jan 2019 15:03:54
New on here lads ,,living in Ireland last ten years . the whole country was delighted when the 2 boys left the national post ,,there football was dire and turgid . no imagination and constantly falling out with players. I think this will turn out to be another poor appointment for us .

4.) 14 Jan 2019 15:47:59
Welcome Ryan. International football management is not suitable for a lot of managers as time spent coaching and getting ideas across is limited. Am also hoping he comes without RK as I think that man management is not his forte.YOU REDS!

5.) 14 Jan 2019 16:01:45
Would prefer him to come with John Robertson! All his most successful jobs were with Robbo as his assistant! Robbo is O’Neill’s Peter Taylor! Even better would be both Keane and Robbo.

6.) 14 Jan 2019 17:32:32
Bringing John Robertson with him would be amazing. That would be the best appointment possible if that happened. 2 bonafide legends with proven management success. COYR

7.) 14 Jan 2019 17:36:13
Hodgson was awful at international.

8.) 14 Jan 2019 17:55:40
Keegan too.

9.) 14 Jan 2019 18:20:13
I won’t be happy if RK comes as part of the package - the only good thing about that is we wouldn’t see the arrogant Richard on tv as much

10.) 14 Jan 2019 18:46:22
Hodgson got a little footballing country to achieve something special for that country.

11.) 14 Jan 2019 19:42:13
2tone we'd have to stop selling prawn sandwiches too!!

12.) 14 Jan 2019 19:48:46
Robbo has not been well last 6 years or so and will not be with mon. As to the irish chap. That wascthe wirst bunch of players mom has ever worked with.

13.) 14 Jan 2019 20:18:55
Mick McCarthy is trying to get Daryl Murphy to come out of retirement. I think that says it all.

The level of championship football, in general is poor, very poor, it is so disappointing that our club, with all the resources available to us, cannot find a formula to get into the PL.
The truth is, if we ever get there, at least 90% of the players will not be good enough, and we will have to build a new team.

We have become a "comfortable" club for players to come to.

Players like, Murphy, Watson, Robinson, Cash are just not good enough, and are happy to collect there wages.

We need flair, pace, we need winners, we need some new blood, with new attitudes.
Lee Gregory, Forestieri, Appiah, Johnson, we need to play our youngsters. Tyler Walker needs and deserves a chance.

We need people who bang on the managers door, if they are not playing, not players who are happy to collect their money.

Sounds simple eh? Then there is the question of who is going to be the conductor?

MN and RK, I wish, but they have got there timing wrong, it was 10 years or so ago

The Cowleys of Lincoln? Sol Campbell?

Or an young up and coming manager from Italy, France or Germany.

We keep doing the same thing and we keep getting the same result. Time for a change.

As I've posted before, this team is not good enough for promotion.

The weaknesses are obvious and I am sure MON will resolve them.

Last night we were hindered by our lack of creativity, which was on the shoulders of JC and JL.

JL was mostly crowded out when he had the ball, as he was recognised as the main threat.

JC simply cannot be effective in this type of football, it is too physical for him and a yard faster than he would like.
In my opinion, he has been a passenger for most of the season.

He may be skillful, but he is not productive at this level. He should come on with 20 minutes left, when defenders are tired and the game's pace has slowed.

MON and RK will get it right, but not this season.

After his gud 20 minute cameo at the weekend he had a chance to show his worth. Can't take it past players and gets knocked off the ball too easily. Unfortunately we have the foundations for a gud squad but there's a few missing links, when villa passed they played it forward with confidence, when we played it was sideways and back to the keeper who for a big man was shocking for their first 2 goals. Can't wait for This season to be over at least we can stop talking about the playoffs which for 37 games we haven't been gud enuff for. I'd sell carvalho for all his nice flicks and tricks isn't gud enuff unless he can prove me wrong I won't lose any sleep if he's sold. MON has a shed load of players to clear out including players brought in from 3 or 4 managers ago, time to finally clear the decks and move forward. There is a lot of fantastic stuff going on behind the scenes but on the football pitch we are better than last season so a top 10 finish would be a decent season but much improvement needed I mean not to have won 2 or 3 games on the bounce all season is poor and the prem would rip us apart if we got there. We need a season to breed confidence of winning consistently then wevmsy be okay. Last night 1 0 up early doors at home we should have gone for it, instead villa looked like the home team. Too many times at home we've looked second best in my eyes. The players know when they go on The pitch wats at stake but whether it's a mentality, confidence, or just not gud enuff can't produce consistent performances. Again thought Osbourn gave everything as usual luv his workrate we just need players to be on The same wavelength instead of being scared to pass or shoot.

The first and most pressing issue is the goalkeeper. When you make mistakes defensively you need a keeper who can occasionally bail you out not contribute to the failings. The reason teams like Sheffield United are doing well is that their GK is playing out of his skin and bails them out when he can. The big gelute in our goal has to be the worse keeper we have ever had. Beaten at near post for first goal. Allowed an average shot to beat him from outside box and rooted to his line for the third scored from about 3 yards out.Not to mention the disallowed goal that he came for and missed leaving an empty net. For all Villas good play the goals were all stoppable and that's why we aren't in top 6. Most other GK in this league would have prevented at least 2 of them. Need a proper GK for next season.

3.) 14 Mar 2019 09:37:57
You are spot on pal. His kicking is woeful and he's like a jenga tower collapsing when he dives for the ball. One gud game in 3 or 4 is garbage last decent keeper was devries so yes the giant needs to go. The players must know this and baffles me why on so many occasions we pass back to him. Typical play for us seems to be, pass sideways, pass back, pass sideways, pass back, pass back to the giant, defender chases the ball, the giant panics, hoofs it upfield it goes the oppisition they come at us again.

4.) 14 Mar 2019 10:18:59
Of course there are games we have shown are capabilities just not as much as we all hoped. Like I said before flooded with too many players we need a tight knit squad. The players can say everyone in it together but there must be a few pissed off especially when we bring them in and they don't make the squad. Cut down the size add a few quality players and hopefully next season we can have a go at it.

5.) 14 Mar 2019 12:46:11
I am loving the jenga analogy.

Now that it is proven beyond reasonable doubt, that the salmon leaper cheated, rightly getting a ban, the even more ridiculous decision is not giving the JL penalty. This confirms the absolute incompetence of this referee.

I also find it amazing that not one of the commentators, who had all the camera angles instantly, did not have the testicles to call, the salmon leaper, a cheat, although DG came close.

All in all a competitive performance, which is the essential first step in any evolution, we looked organised and professional, that has happened infrequently in recent years. well done boys.

All this talk about formations, by our fans is crazy, players win matches, desire wins matches, will to win, wins matches. The formula is straight forward, defenders defend, challenge and do not give up space, midfielders win the ball, and sometimes join the strikers in the box, when the ball is out wide, but mostly give the ball to the better players. The " flair " players do their bit of magic, through skill, pace and knowledge, and finally we score more than the opposition! Watch MON and RK adopt this model. PS you might have seen this before!

Forest Italians

1.) 11 Feb 2019 14:30:40
I used to agree with that but Saturday showed how quickly Brentford moved the ball through the midfield . Seemed like they had 12 men and always seemed to have a man over in midfield . This must be due to the formation

2.) 11 Feb 2019 22:20:52
Brentford have a very settled side, tight squad and have developed a style of play over a few seasons.

It's not rocket science if owners are not success greedy and put in a structure that allows the club ethos to grow .

Unfortunately while we have made great strides as a club we do not seem to have quite got there on the recruitment/ethos/management front as we are still in our press panic button default mode at the first sign of a hiccup!

EM clearly has a different agenda so the jury is still out on whether his Greek model will work?

3.) 12 Feb 2019 02:07:08
RIE, How many managers will accept a job where they are told, I do not care what success you have had with your style of football, i expect this style of football because it it is what i expect to see how my players play.

What a player SVC was, at his very best he was world class, had everything, pace, power, desire, left and right feet.
I remember when we had just come up and played against Bruce and Pallister, he frightened them to death, even though they were dropping off to nullify his pace, he was so dangerous.!
Oh but for a player like that. although he came from the lower leagues, they must be around. We need to find them and take some chances.

Forest Italians

1.) 23 Jan 2019 11:55:23
Best no9 we've ever had or possibly ever will have.

Two footed good in the air and pace to burn should have stayed at Forest Liverpool ruined him playing him out wide.

Could have been as good for England as Shearer but wrong club wrong position finished him

2.) 23 Jan 2019 12:38:43
Managers dream all you had to do was kick up to Stanley and he'd do the rest,
