Apparently Todd Kane a done deal, also two other young Chelsea players being considered, Frankaty Dabo and Christiensen, Also heard Charlie Adams, Robert Huth, and Stephen Ireland being mentioned, make of that what you will.

GawdenBennett

1.) 06 Jan 2015 17:36:15
Huth would be a tremendous addition in defence. Solid as a rock.

Look at him

http://www.transfermarkt.de/robert-huth/profil/spieler/2998

2.) How can the club afford Robert Huth. It's about time we got real, and realise that we can at the present time get in decent players because of FFP. I wonder who got us into this mess.

3.) Would love hutch, but can't see it. Unless Stoke pay his wages

4.) Robert Huth would be a lot more than 10K a week, times it by 3.

5.) Can he bring Harry Kane with him?

6.) If we get rid of a abdoun we can use 75%of his wage on a new signing and at 35k a week that's enough for s decent signing

7.) That would be a BIG if, Who on earth will buy Abdoun, Fawaz really had one pulled over him with this one, at least Debjfour had the decency to sort it out and move on.

Apparentley Spurs are preparing to bid 6mil for Lascelles, it says they are meeting our valuation but I haven't heard that figure mentioned before.

GawdenBennett

{Ed034's Note - I've seen the report and £6m is a good offer. If they could throw Harry Kane in as part of the deal, I'd be very tempted.

1.) Or maybe Danny Rose

2.) If that's TRUE you have to take it. yes he's a good young player but 6million is a lot of money to just sit on. there will be a sell on clause as well so we could get even more later down the line.

3.) Danny rose why do we need another left back? We already have cohen and fox kane and carrol yes on season long loans and £6m

{Ed034's Note - he can also play as a winger

4.) 5m to Arsenal without a game, now 6m to Spuds with 4 odd years remaining on his contract?

Didn't Curtis Davies go for 10 million?

I say no deal, unless Lascelles pushes for the deal himself.

5.) We shouldn't be selling our best players end of. Been down that particular road too many times. It gets you nowhere. If we are serious about getting up to the premier league then we need to add to the very talented core of our squad and not weaken it.

{Ed034's Note - the 'if you are serious....' live is ridiculous. Selling a player for that amount and then spending that money on new talent is serious. All clubs are selling clubs, including us. I wouldn't fault the club one but for selling him for £6m plus

6.) I have to agree 6M is too good to refuse, regardless of his potential if we reach the Prem. With that kind of money we could purchase the 4 additions SP wants to complete the squad. One player won't make or break promotion! A strong squad will.

7.) £6 million is a realistic price and not the ridiculous amount some fans think he is worth. Harry Maguire for £2 million as his replacement and get a Spurs player, Kane or Carroll on loan for the season represents a good deal.

8.) 6 million is not a bad offer as long as we get a player with the deal and maybe a 15% sell on clause. Maybe a deal can be worked that we can have him back for the season as I can't see him starting at spurs but who knows

9.) 6 million sounds about right, we need cover at centre half though, I don't trust hobbs or wilsons fitness. any news on a sell on clause regarding dawson ed.

{Ed034's Note - there was on added when he went but these things often get bought off by the buying club

10.) £6 million isn't enough £10 million is more realistic plus add ons and loan players

{Ed034's Note - I don't understand how anyone can think £10m is realistic

11.) In response to Gazza2969-Fox is not good enough cover for Cohen IMO and like ED said Rose can also play left wing, and Ed I don't think 10 mil is too far off, ok maybe a little but 8/9m wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility if a bidding war starts, there are after all 4 or 5 Prem clubs who are interested. i'm not saying that's a fair price but you know what the player market is like nowadays especially for British players.

{Ed034's Note - I think fox will be a big player this season and will show his class. If rose came, which of be shocked at, is be happy him coming as a winger. If he was coming as a left back, I wouldn't see the point

12.) I hope so ed, I really do but i'm still a bit concerned about LB role if Cohens not playing for what ever reason, It does look like the powers that be have some faith in Fox ie the length of his contract, I just hope he improves on last seasons performances, I suppose it was as part of a makeshift side so let's wait and see, ill reserve judgement for a while.

{Ed034's Note - he came into a side with no confidence, who was going through a lot to stuff behind the scenes and a side which was changing each game.
To have someone like fox as back up just gives me so much confidence

13.) 6 million is a realistic price I would say, plus 15% of any future transfer plus a Spurs player in on loan for the season like has already been said. While we are at it get JL back on loan for the season. That should see how serious Spurs are.

14.) 06 Jul 2014 16:46:15
I would hope its 6m plus add ons for playing for England, maybe a percentage of next sale too.

But I'd still be reluctant, unless he really wants to go.

15.) Still not enough for him he will be worth a lot more in a season or two We don't need to steel so should keep him

16.) For me, forgetting any potential (however likely) injuries to Hobbs and Wilson, 6m for our 3rd choice centre back is a decent offer which would have to be looked at.

17.) 06 Jul 2014 18:12:46
Taking my forest hat off for a moment, this would be another classic case of youngsters getting shafted. This would be bad news for the player himself ( and his development ). Further down the line it would be a bad move for our national team as this lad has enough about to get that far. But should this move come to fruition he would be yet another young talent bought by a big club and kept out of the first team by imports who are frankly killing our national team. All that would happen is he would be loaned back to a championship club ( probably us ) and be back at square one. I care about Forest ultimately but we don't necessarily need to sell. I care about the player himself so think he will develop better with the guidance of SP and I care about seeing a lad with all the attributes go to the very top with the right support and the right advisors around him.
In short he shouldn't be sold and shouldn't want to be either

{Ed034's Note - I know you say we don't have to sell, but we are outside the ffp and the club should come first

18.) We would need some serious add ons to make 6 million a good price. No point selling a potential premier league player and then using the money to buy a couple of championship players when our own vision is the premier league. We need to be more positive and see the bigger picture. Once we are in the prem a decent centre half will cost more so it could be false economy. Like SP says the offer needs to be sensational and 6 million ain't sensational.

19.) £6m is a stunning amount of money for a player with no PL experience.

I say sell and if a sell on clause can be added then all the better.

Would be fantastic business for us.

20.) Minimum of 8m is my valuation.

6 million is not enough.

my team formation posts seem to be going missing Ed, I've done 2 using the formation app and 1 or two by just typing the names on the Forest teams page, surely they weren't so bad that you decided not to post one

GawdenBennett

{Ed033's Note - The 2 team formations you created using our app are still at:
http://nottinghamforestrumours.co.uk/formations/GawdenBennett

3 of your posts are now on the teams page.

1.) Cheers Ed

Tonights result is irrelevant, obviously a win would have been nice but we hit the woodwork twice and two debutants had a good game, even had we had won, still irrelevant due to all the chopping and changing from both sides, nobody got injured and great news about Henri, all together not a bad day for the reds.

Sounds like Fox is having a mare Ed, I so hope i'm wrong about him being a liability.

GawdenBennett

{Ed034's Note - what position did he play?

1.) Center half and LB

{Ed034's Note - centre back for 60mins from what I gather, with Harding to his left

2.) My mistake Ed, I've just realised that it was Halford and not Harding who got subbed I had assumed Fox had moved to LB, an easy mistake to make as both names begin with H and both IMO are a bleepin liability, I suppose the jury is still out on the Fantastic Mr Fox, for now as he wasnt in his prefered position.

{Ed034's Note - I'm reading a lot of fans options and he is a name coming up of players that played well tonight.

3.) Fox had a decent game at CH apart from the slip for the goal. Won a lot of headers. Osbourne looked lively as well. Patterson had a poor game 1st half and Cox couldn't get into game stuck up front on his home. Harding is not a championship player in my opinion although he does try.
We looked a bit more lively second half and went close with the dutch lad hitting the post but its more about fitness and getting through without injuries more than the result although you always like to see your team play well. Its a nice little ground they have there.

4.) Gawden
Methinks you are Victor Meldrew in disguise or even 6th to 8th or whatever he was called last season?

5.) Victor who?I don't belieeeeeeeeve it.

6.) Don't kno how u worked that out redinexile I am totally the opposite to that guy and was one of his main objectors I am pessimism personified

How do you know he'd be first choice?

GawdenBennett

Our centre backs are ok what we need is a proper Holding midfield general to sit in front of the back four so they're not so exposed. We also need some more creativity but hopefully Reidy will find his form quickly when fit.

Its not the formation that's important but more the players used and style of play, eg if you play 5 across the middle but one of them is a forward then its not far off the same thing, it depends on tactics,
and fluidity is the key

I would drop Antonio to the bench, and go with a midfield of
Vaughan
Osbourne Tesche
Burke
Paterson
Britt
as a 4-5-1

No mate he's been rubbish at corners, the ball should never reach the far post so IMO the two goals were lucky in that respect, maybe Lansburys corner taking has been better in training and he will start to deliver

Where were you sitting then pal in the concourse? The LB, Ablock and Capitol one corner were all in good voice against Brighton and between us I don't think it went Two mins withhout a song were you in BC stand or the TE it does tend to be a bit library like over there, I suggest you bring a megaphone and get the going.

It was the wrong type of game for Burke to go gung-ho and Hunt to be overlapping every time we had the ball ,Brighton are very strong down the flanks so we had to be a bit cautious ,saying that I would prefer Pato to get the nod ahead of Burke against selected teams,Also it seems strange how the service to Britt was hardly ever lower than chest height, surely it would be more practical to knock it in to his feet so he can spin his man a la Stan the man, like he did against the sheep ,if we are going to have him alongside Fryatt or Lars those high balls might be good for Britt and Pato to feed off,we just need to get the balance of the team right ,we did pass the ball a lot better against BHA but didn't have the cutting edge,in the games we have scored goals we have not dominated teams possession wise and good defending ,goalkeeping the woodwork and a fair bit of luck has seen us through,a bit of a risky way to play I do thnk SP will suss it out soon and hopefully it will be tomorrow night at Wigan.
