Colback had reportedly been released from his contract with Newcastle and Forest are set to sign him.

GazzaRed

1.) 01 Jul 2019 20:54:01
No he hasn't.

2.) 01 Jul 2019 20:56:55
I'd be happy with that.

3.) 01 Jul 2019 22:38:24
Has he or has he not? That is the question.

4.) 02 Jul 2019 23:33:59
Colback Boom oo Yata Ta Ta

"Will you meet us in August or will you be gone?
If not we will not love you the same from now on"

Look at me when I'm talking to you it's time to make up your mind!

24 Jun 2019 15:13:54
That's Ameobi confirmed, next Hutton. The purse must be empty.

GazzaRed

1.) 24 Jun 2019 15:46:57
Hutton might be off to Hull now Gazza. Apparently they are trying to hijack him?

2.) 24 Jun 2019 16:09:22
Ameobi played very well at Newcastle. If Cash is not up to scratch he would be a good alternative. He's only 27 and cost nothing, my guess is he is on reasonable-sized wages. If anyone can get the best out of him it will be O'Neil. Let's be positive and give him our support.

3.) 24 Jun 2019 20:48:32
Think your getting him mixed up with his brother Shola

4.) 24 Jun 2019 21:07:48
2010-2017 made 57 appearances for Newcastle United. Not many goals but then was not a striker. Got 8 goals for Bolton over last 2 years. Not stunning statistics but my guess is full potential not realised since both Newcastle and Bolton have had severe problems

5.) 24 Jun 2019 21:26:36
Tyler Walker 22 bsered?
Better scoring ratio only five years for us to find out then

6.) 25 Jun 2019 22:26:31
Not convinced by Tyler. Has had some good games for us but lacks body strength and needs a lot of support, certainly not a "lone" striker. Johnson might prove to be better - or not!

29 Jan 2019 13:02:54
Blackett, Mcdonald, Mings and McLean are the players being targeted as well as another striker. They would all be great additions in my opinion.

GazzaRed

1.) 29 Jan 2019 13:18:54
Forget Mings. Let West Brom and Villa scrap it out.£80k a week and hardly kicked a ball in a year. Eric Pieters being mooted as part of a swap deal inc Maclean with Osborn going to Stoke. Desperately need a striker too. Austin, Gray, Vydra???

2.) 29 Jan 2019 13:25:33
Erik Peiters too is on radar as is a lot of clubs interested in Mings but yes agree these would all be good. Blankett is a young player with a lot of experience having come through ranks at Man U before joining Reading and can play across the back. MacDonald is a complete midfielder and I think with him and Colback sitting in centre it would open up to play Carvalho or two strikers as MacDonald will break up play but also start attacks and still is mobile unlike Watson or Yacob even Pep.
Defo need a leftback as well so if we could sign Blankett plus Mings or Pieters then would have plenty of cover then!
I would be happy with McLean too especially if Osbourn goes but I would like to see another striker come in.
Could be an interested big few days.

3.) 29 Jan 2019 14:40:28
I don’t think McDonald is mobile

4.) 29 Jan 2019 15:06:26
Is McDonald better than Colback and Yacob ? Question not a statement?

5.) 29 Jan 2019 15:06:54
No they haven't got round to that yet,but you can use the drive through.😁😁😁

6.) 29 Jan 2019 15:12:38
Hope we can land all 4. I have a sneaky feeling Martin might just fancy getting in Crouchy to give us a different option up front and get on the end of crosses as an impact sub?

7.) 29 Jan 2019 15:28:41
Red have you seen the quality of our crosses all season lol

8.) 29 Jan 2019 15:30:57
McDonald is definitely a better player although not the box to box midfielder we need. I’m still of the opinion that the best option would be Nick Powell who’s younger and scores more goals than any of those mentioned. Perhaps we have that player in Carvalaho if used in a slightly different role???

9.) 29 Jan 2019 15:34:48
If Crouch were 3 years younger then yes for sure but not now. Andy Carroll is available for £2 million and if we could afford his wages and guarantee he stays fit he would be awesome in this division but not going to happen like many other players that are being mentioned.

10.) 29 Jan 2019 17:14:33
RIE Crouch would be a good signing.

11.) 29 Jan 2019 17:44:56
Injury prone or not I’d defo take a chance on Carroll if he was available

12.) 29 Jan 2019 18:26:28
Crouch WOULD get on the end of our crosses. if he sat in the stand!!!
💺💺💺

13.) 29 Jan 2019 19:06:00
Nick26 are you actually Nick Powell? LOL

14.) 29 Jan 2019 19:16:31
Why do we keep looking at 30 + year olds when we have talented youngsters who will run faster be hungrier and will be less likely to getshed loads of injuries or look at a lower league strikerit worked with Britt who,d I'd have any day of the week

15.) 29 Jan 2019 19:29:26
For me Carroll has pinched a living from football for too many years.

16.) 29 Jan 2019 19:34:44
Martin is synonymous with players in, and around 30 years of age, so why the surprise 😲

If they produce the goods no one will care what their age is.

17.) 29 Jan 2019 21:33:31
Would any of those be "class" signings?

18.) 29 Jan 2019 22:03:13
Not caught anything yet then perks?🎏🎏

19.) 29 Jan 2019 22:16:30
They will all be on short contracts to get us up or bail out to comply FFP so if the are better than what we have what's the problem? In 18 months time we should have a few of our own that have stepped up!

08 Jan 2019 07:02:40
Forest have offered a short term contract to 20 year old French striker, Idris Kadded. Quite a strange one, not sure what our intentions are signing such an unproven player.

GazzaRed

1.) 08 Jan 2019 09:04:13
Our Sporting Director has come from the French league, so that has his stamp all over it. Hope it works out.

2.) 08 Jan 2019 13:11:46
It’s only a 6 month long deal so not much to worry about.

24 Dec 2018 06:41:15
There's no coincidence that the goals have dried up since bringing Osborn back in to the team. He's rubbish! Cash on the bench makes no sense.

GazzaRed

1.) 24 Dec 2018 09:36:13
Rubbish seems a bit harsh Gazza.

Reading between the lines of Lamouchi's post match interview, he was clearly far from pleased with what he saw. "We learn a lot about the situation". I take that as, he learnt that some of the players just aren't up to it. It will be interesting to see who wilts under his management because I do not think he's one to stand by and accept idle players and idle performances.

GazzaRed

1.) 17 Jul 2019 09:56:00
Looks like Gueds has got the bullet he’s off to Kuwait.

2.) 17 Jul 2019 10:18:21
Good. 29 more to go.

3.) 17 Jul 2019 12:07:15
I don’t think Dawson and Worral will be first choice centre backs this season. I believe he started with them last night to confirm his thoughts on the matter. So the Swede and the Portuguese lads will be first choice, and the Tunisian centre half will also be on his bike. He is too slow and his disciplinary record is terrible.

4.) 17 Jul 2019 12:27:15
I’d put Watson and Cash in that category and hopefully Osborn will be sold to generate funds for another striker and I believe we still need another Geddy type of player as I believe he’s also on his way.

5.) 17 Jul 2019 13:02:02
Many of us had very high hopes of Worrall but he seems to have gone backwards in ability. The middle three look like being Figueredo, Milosevich and Robinson. We still need a fast right sided wingback as Cash is not up to it. Muric had better improve quickly. I agree we still need a stellar Striker but can't see where he would come from. Walker and Ariyibi will be loaned out again. Lots of dead wood still to clear but I fear they will sit at home and keep their high wages.

6.) 17 Jul 2019 13:58:50
Forest logic get rid of bridcutt geddy yacob and give Yates a new contract. lol. all those miles ahead of Yates.

7.) 17 Jul 2019 14:44:56
How do you know Pep is off to Kuwait, Redtree.

8.) 17 Jul 2019 15:52:32
I read an article. i'm not in the know.

9.) 17 Jul 2019 21:16:14
Must be true then🤣🤣🤣.

10.) 17 Jul 2019 23:30:35
Tbh I didn’t say I’d put my life on it. But it was some article from Algeria. Had to translate and it said something about gueds being in advanced talks with a Kuwaiti team. It would make sense for everyone as well.

15 Jul 2019 15:44:41
Nelson Oliveira going to AEK Athens for 1m. Wouldn't have been a bad bit of business surely?

GazzaRed

1.) 15 Jul 2019 15:57:43
Absolute bang average on a good day. Put him in the bottom draw with Pratley and Whittingham.
Time to move on folks, pastures new but that don't mean Hilda Ogden, just the laziest journalism possible.

2.) 15 Jul 2019 18:45:01
Pratley and Whittingham? He's still only 27, and scored 1 goal every 3 games in a very poor and defensive Forest side. 1m is a ridiculously low price in the market these days. he's just as good if not better than Grabban IMO and 5 years younger. 1 million!

12 Jul 2019 07:25:01
I'm really enjoying the little snippets of training that Forest are putting out on YT. Good to see Adomah in training, he seems like a real gent. For me, him and Muric, best business so far.

GazzaRed

1.) 12 Jul 2019 18:24:10
They’ve stepped up promoting the squad, its a good thing, in this day and age content is key and quantity of content is even more important.

09 Jul 2019 11:50:46
Looks like Adomah could be the next face through the door. Ameobi and Adomah down the wings, I'll be happy with that. Carvalho and Silva in the cente pulling that strings with Grabban finally getting some decent service. Not to mention such a highly rated GK between the sticks. Just need another striker and a RB new and were looking good. Oh and the small job of getting rid of about another 10 players.

GazzaRed

1.) 09 Jul 2019 12:15:23
Wat about Lolley.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 12:38:24
Ameobi/ Adomah fighting it our for a place on one side. Lolley on the other.

3.) 09 Jul 2019 12:39:42
Haven’t bought a season ticket for years but am now considering it for this season. Need two one for me and a youth one. It’s telling me online that I can only buy 1 ticket, but want them together. Any ideas guys please.

4.) 09 Jul 2019 15:05:55
Leaves our best player last season out the team. lol.

02 Jul 2019 08:11:31
Good to see snippets of the first training sessions in Spain. Lamouchi looks very hands on, getting in the players faces giving direct instructions, a little less stand off than the approach of O'Neill. I'm really glad they have gone for a continental approach of Head Coach instead of manager, he has one focus, to get the team playing good football and winning games.

GazzaRed

1.) 02 Jul 2019 13:05:02
Yup saw that Gazza and thought the same. Its tough to swallow last weeks shock but we have no choice but to draw a line. Another new dawn. We have to be optimistic and get behind the new structure, we have no choice but i was lifted watching the training session.
Is a 52 seat coach big enough for our squad😂😂😂😂.

2.) 02 Jul 2019 22:13:04
I'll bet a few of the players won't agree?

Pace? Like redtree said, in my many years of watching him play, I can probably recall 2 occasions when he's took and player on and got past them.

Have to agree Fff79. there's still a big job to do to bring in more quality. And for that to happen, money is going to have to be spent. There just isn't a depth of quality in the squad yet, and with a few injuries, it will start to tell.

That said, the chances of getting rid of Murphy is minimal unless he's willing to take a pay cut. I know if I was a 36 year old striker on 25k a week, I'd sit tight for the last year of my contract and then retire. It makes no sense for him to take a pay cut for the last season of his career just to play football.

In a word, No. Not unless we invest in some more PROVEN fire power. You still look at the team and wonder where the goals required to get out of this league are going to come from. Lolley, 10 goals. Adomah, 8 goals. Grabban 15 goals. Reasonable predictions I'd say. So that's 32 goals. Where are the other 50 goals coming from? To get out of this league you need another striker who can bag you another 20 goals at least. i'm not being doom and gloom, it's just fact, so unless forest add that in the next couple of weeks, we will not score the goals required.

Absolutely much improved. Great to see 2 actual naturally gifted wide players in Adomah and Lolley to add balance to the team. My concern remains the same however, last season we should have come out of some games having scored 3,4, 5 goals maybe but could only muster 1, or even none. For me we still need a striker with killer instinct. I'm not saying dwight Gayle, but someone similar would be perfect.

Manager and Owner both saying that they are looking to add quality additions to the team. Quality costs money, so they either have different opinions of what quality is or there has to be some money there to spend because freebies are more than often freebies for a reason and we can't keep delving in to that market.

Great summary Rutland. We are a team of bits and bobs and that comes from having a churn of managers constantly signing their own players. The bar must be lifted with the next few signing to bring some REAL quality to the team otherwise it will take a miracle to get out of this league this season. Goals are what we so desperately need and at the minute, the team simply doesn't have the talent to get them amount required. Gayle, Assombolonga etc. These are the signings we need.

It will be a mixed bag, like it is so often when unknown players are signed. Maybe one or two might turn out to be really good signings, whereas others will struggle and will be gone come January.
