Haha. So we're willing to pay an extra £1m just so they'll take Mills away! I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but he's not that bad!

So basically we haven't got a goalkeeper good enough for the number one jersey, a left back to wear 3 or a midfielder/ winger good enough to wear 7 (or is out injured still along with Fryatt) . Would have liked to have seen Clough be given 10 but glad Brereton and Cash now have respectable squad numbers. Could Joe Worrall not have had 12 or 15 or something instead of 42. Or does he genuinely think he's the answer to life, the universe and everything?

No footballing brain unfortunately. Looked a player with his raw pace at right back but positionally was dreadful and slowly got found out as City got better players. It's easy to run round like a loon in a crap side and people think you're good. Run round like a loon in a good side then people start seeing how poor you are. He clearly hasn't worked hard enough either. Imagine 7-8 years ago if someone had said Wes Morgan and Micah Richards - one will be a Premier League winning captain and the other will struggle to get a game in the Championship. To sum up, I'd rather not waste the money.

From what I've seen of him, which isn't a massive amount to be fair, he looks like an old school speedy striker (like Owen, Defoe, Wright although clearly not that calibre) that plays well with a big man laying off and flicking balls on for him. In the 90s he'd have made a good striker. Nowadays players like that have to be absolutely clinical or have something else to their game in order to make it at a decent level. I think he needs to convert to right forward/ wing or even right wing back if he wants to progress as a championship player. He'll probably do well as a striker in league two and maybe even league one in a decent team but not the top two divisions.

£2m is way too much for a 34 year old who didn't really do much last year in the best team in the league. He's decent and I'd be happy with him on a free or a small transfer fee (£300k or so) but that's way too much on a player who isn't going to get us challenging for top 6. If we're spending £2m I'd rather it be on a 20 year old conference striker who's hungry.

Megson was brought in to do one job - keep us up by playing ugly. He achieved one of those goals. He sold our 2 best players and replaced them with Friio, Melville and Powell without spending any of the £8m. Humiliated David Johnson in his first training session. Sacked a club legend in Des Walker. Played our top scorer at centre half. He was ****ing abysmal. Even worse than Platt and Kinnear. I genuinely hate the bloke.

This season's reminding me of when Hart got sacked in 03/04. We weren't playing bad football but just kept losing games due to a sloppy defence and lightweight players off the ball then the goals started to dry up. Once you start losing and teams see you as vulnerable they just go for the jugular. I don't lay too much blame against PM - sold £15m of talent at the end of the window and allowed to spend £300k plus a couple of loans to replace - but he doesn't know the division or his best team. If this carries on much longer we'll have no choice but to sack yet another manager. then probably end up with a caretaker until the takeover's complete.

I'm out of Notts this weekend so haven't listened to the commentary so can't comment on specifics. Nor am I a fan of Laws's drab style and think his basic tactics as a manager has led him to commentating for BBC Notts. However, surely you want some honest punditry who calls it as they see it. I don't particularly want to listen to the moron who phoned Talksport after the Arsenal thumping saying it was even game and Arsenal's experience (I kid you not, that's what he said) saw them through it. If we're crap our co-commentator should say so. And you'd have to go a long to find a more partisan commentator than Colin Fray but he'll tell us how good, bad or indifferent we are! Would prefer someone other than Laws. Stan's out of a job at the minute.

Looking at Villa yesterday I thought they were a lot better than us but then again they should be. Clearly they haven't gelled yet but when they do they will (or at least should) be battering teams in this division, same with Newcastle and probably Norwich to an extent. The financial gap is now so big that steady Championship clubs like Forest, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Leeds, Ipswich etc can't compete with the newly relegated sides. I have a horrible feeling that in the next 3 seasons at least 7 of the 9 relegated sides will go straight back up, which will ruin the most competitive League in the world. It's a rigged game now (and that's before we look at some very bias refereeing and tv punditry) . All we can do is try and frustrate those teams and beat those around us.

. and now I'm depressed! Still, was a great point yesterday against 12 men.

Talk about manipulating the facts. The Premier League winger was playing in the Championship last year but wait that's okay because they went up so he must be pretty good. only he couldn't get in their team and was loaned out to 2 mid-table Championship where he didn't particularly impress plus he has a history of knee injuries so fits right in with our squad. The Serie A striker was out on loan to a Serie B side scored a whopping 7 goals in 30 odd appearances in a piss poor division (plus he's had about 8 clubs already and is only 24) . Meanwhile the Champions League winger has been loaned out to a relegated side then a mid-table team in the Portuguese league for the last 2 seasons. I understand the glass is half full mindset and what you've said isn't wrong, just missing out quite a bit of context don't you think? I hope they all do well and get us promoted but it's unlikely. None of these are safe bets or proven so if we end up doing okay this year it'll be in spite of Fawaz not because of him!
