Got to say, the team is shaping up nicely. I think even if we sell Britt our strike force looks good. Front 4 of Cummings, Osbourne, Clough and Mahoney? All young, all quality. To me it's sorting out the defence and trying to get rid of Hobbs. We need a good CB and a good DM. If we can get Britt for £10m plus leadbitter I'd be happy. That gives us a bit of money to improve the first team and have a quality addition in midfield.

1.) 15 Jun 2017 19:58:36
To let Britt leave to another championship club would be madness imo.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 20:18:46

3.) 15 Jun 2017 20:24:23
I agree, if the lad has not asked to leave and specified a particular club why aid a fellow Championship club. I do believe Wolves have no chance, they were not too many places above us last season. Someone said if we sell BA we are showing no ambition, if BA goes to Wolves he has no ambition.

4.) 15 Jun 2017 21:36:43
Boro are hardly going to be our rivals next season if we are being honest.

5.) 15 Jun 2017 21:38:58
He will not go to Wolves, Britt ain't Portuguese or a Mendez reject! Plus they core afford him! 😂😂😂.

6.) 15 Jun 2017 22:57:26
UTF on a downer before a ball is kicked, that's the spirit!

7.) 16 Jun 2017 06:28:35
How's saying that we won't compete with boro putting a Downer on the season already?

8.) 16 Jun 2017 09:28:39
Well it kind of is, isn't it?

9.) 16 Jun 2017 10:19:39

Newcastle, Norwich, and Villa were the favourites to go up last season, only Newcastle went up. There is no certainly Middlesbrough will go up.

10.) 16 Jun 2017 11:50:03
I never said anything about boro going up. iv said we won't be competing with them. totally different things.

11.) 16 Jun 2017 12:11:24

Yes you are right, you did not say they would go up, with where Norwich and Villa finished who is to say Middlesbrough will not finnish in a similar position. Warburton might form a squad to be near a mid table finish. Who at the start of the season thought Huddersfield would go up, the Championship is unpredictable.

12.) 16 Jun 2017 14:21:54
Like I said we won't be competing with boro. boro we're pretty good in defence last season in the prem but struggled to score, they keep that defence up and get Britt in we won't be challenging them.

13.) 16 Jun 2017 17:28:31
UTF! The sun is out! It's summertime! Get your Forest shirt on! Get a few down your neck, and lighten up mate!? 🍻🍻🍻.

14.) 16 Jun 2017 19:05:39
The sun has been out and iv been sat there fishing and was in the most relaxed mood you could ever be in and that is why I know what I'm saying isn't a heat of the moment thing, it's how I see it.
i would be having a few beers but iv got a 3hr drive ahead of me in a short while and that wouldn't be the best idea 😵.

15.) 16 Jun 2017 19:52:49
Think fishing season started early for some. lol🐋🐋.

16.) 16 Jun 2017 22:48:36
Boro, have more money to spend and will most likely have a better squad on paper, but you don't win anything on paper. We'll give them a good game. With two goalscorers, bright young talent with Clough, Bereton et al we will be awesome. 2 more dynamic midfielders and we will be a match for anyone. COYRs.

Gutted to lose but thare a lot of positives to be taken from the game today. Defensively we looked a lot better, we created chances and are still a work in progress, unfortunately the veteran skills of Vydra and Nugent beat our young reds.

1.) 15 Oct 2017 15:11:51
Fans talk about how well we pass and we score yet we have a -6 goal difference.thats not good already.

2.) 15 Oct 2017 15:20:05
Traore licra manciane and fox where does beat our young reds come from that's a experience back four all 4 have played in the premier league and we get caught after 24 seconds and 5 mins after half time ummmmm

3.) 15 Oct 2017 15:23:54
Blame the midfield for that, too many dwarfs in there, easy to push aside can't tackle, until that is addressed we will concede in every game.
Signing centre backs or playing different personell as today will make no difference, when you can run past the entire midfield at will.

4.) 15 Oct 2017 15:24:19
One more thing those veteran skills of vydra he was born in 1992 so he's actually younger than our back four today it's a total lack of not being able to defend from first whistle to the last

5.) 15 Oct 2017 17:44:35
Ff someone on here a while ago said that we have too many small players for modfield and he got criticised for saying such things.were you one of those?

29 Aug 2017 09:42:59
It's getting to my second favourite time of the year! Summer Transfer Window Deadline Day (yes I'm sad, I know!)

So what's everyone's thoughts on the Ins and Outs to come in this window?

Personally I can see us getting a keeper and a CB in, probably looking like a midfielder too which to me means that I think BO might be off. I can see Hobbs going too, paid a lot to never play. I think it would only be fair to young Mr Walker for him to go out to a league 1 or 2 team on loan.

I don't think we're far away from having a team to compete, and while I wished we had signed a quality LB in Bidwell and got Harley Dean to shore up our defence, I'm happy. My one issue with our team at the moment is probably unpopular but it's that I don't think Smith is Commanding enough at the back. Looking at the last time we competed in this league we had Camp who took over from the nervy smith and took control of his penalty area. That is definitely the one area Smith needs to develop.

1.) 29 Aug 2017 09:52:43
Smith - Great prospect, but not the keeper we need right now. I still wouldn't be too disappointed to see Osbourn leave but MW raves about him so can't see him going anywhere. Vellios is definitely one that will be looking to move on. I'd imagine Hobbs is happy collecting his 25k per week so will be happy to stay and fight for a place. MW seems adverse to signing any player taller than 5ft 8 so we'll have to wait and see what happens

2.) 29 Aug 2017 11:33:37
In: 1 GK, 1 CB (Harlee Dean), 1 LB

Out: Evtimov (loan), Lam (loan), Hobbs or Mills, Liça, Walker (loan).

GK: Smith has potential, not good enough for no.1 yet.

CB: We need a commanding CB to play with Worrall.

LB: Traoré decent (injury prone). Fox better as CB.

Evtimov: We wouldn't need 4 GKs fighting for one spot.
Lam: looks to be on his way to FC Twente.
Hobbs: Injury prone.
Mills: I don't rate him.
Liça: MW has told him to find another club.
Walker: Not yet ready for championship in my opinion.

3.) 29 Aug 2017 11:57:22
I completely agree, I just hope the right players will come in time and settle in straight away,we also need to stop being so harsh on our team, youngsters are learning and the new signings take time to perform and settle in,it's early days, we just need to wait and see.

4.) 29 Aug 2017 12:11:09
Birmingham have had a £2 million bid accepted for Dean so forget that one.

23 Aug 2017 09:59:01
I'm starting to feel something dangerously close to optimism for this season. For me though, the real test comes after the international break. Over the past few seasons we seem to do well for the first few fixtures then pants after the break. If we can keep our current form going until Christmas I'll be more optimistic about our team and our chances. Leeds will be the toughest test we face IMO and even without Woods look a dangerous side.

1.) 23 Aug 2017 10:14:14
Next 4/5 games against all play off contenders will show us were we at.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 13:01:46
I predict that new look Leeds will get a reality check this weekend and lose by 3 or 4 to 1!

06 Aug 2017 09:18:14
Interestingly we have added players all over the pitch for added competition, but not added the competition into the centre of defence and left back which were arguably our 2 weakest positions last year. I'm happy that we have strengthened our attack but a little disappointed that we haven't improved the two weakest areas so far.

I have complete faith that we will be fine this season and once MW gets the side settled and playing with a rhythm and understanding we will be a real force.

1.) 06 Aug 2017 11:42:08
I think 1 or 2 of the following Mills, Hobbs, Fox will be gone within the next year and hopefully replaced with a strong CH that is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can help Worrall develop.

02 Aug 2017 08:39:11
Just spoke to my mate at work who's an Everton fan about the lad that's coming in. He seemed a bit gutted that he isn't getting his chance at Everton this season, apparently he scores "worldies" on the regular.

Let’s take this out of football.

Say you want to completely redecorate and refurbish your house. Now if your in the same situation as most people you can’t do it all at once because you can’t afford the cost. So you space it out over a couple of years. Now you might think ok I’ll start by getting some new sofas in but you can’t get the new ones in without getting rid of the old ones because you don’t have room. So you get 1 piece in at a time until you fully replace it with the furniture you want. It might look out of sorts while you’re in the middle of doing it but at the end you think yeah it was worth it. Now imagine if you run out of money halfway through doing it? Your room is a mix of two different types of furniture and looks a mess, that’s just your lounge, what happens if you started other rooms too? Imagine if you got kicked out halfway through? Whoever’s in there would have to start again, with different tastes and different ideas.

This is how the fans who want to sack MW look in my opinion:
Last season: FAWAZ OUT!!! WE WANT STABILITY!!! Thank god we survived!

This season: SACK THE MANAGER! We need to act now! We should be near the top half!

I’m not saying that anyone is right or wrong but we do need to have stability and perspective. We’ve lost a few games, we’ve won a few. Look at the players on the pitch, they didn’t look like they’d lost confidence, didn’t go negative, they kept trying to play and created chances. This just shows that the players believe in MW. We unfortunately have pretty much the same defence as last season, and quite honestly I felt comfortable when we were defending yesterday. I loved attacking, I hated losing and as my family will tell you it put me in a mood. I didn’t blame the manager, I didn’t blame the players, I accepted we lost and was gutted we’d lost to the Sheep Botherers. So please instead of going back to Fawaz style revolving doors and instability. Accept that we will lose some, we are improving, we aren’t the finished article and we will be fine.

Football is an ever evolving sport both in rulesets and tactics. Gone are the days of long balls and lumping as players can generally read those balls and defend against them easily. Nowadays you switch the ball quickly or you play patiently and try to drag the opposition out of position.

The current meta Tactic is 343, which players are now playing at club level, so it makes sense to mirror that in the international scene too. Before that it was 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. The pace and and style of the games have been influenced by the M word, where the more attractive footballing teams and technical players are dragging the game to being less of the typical English game and more towards the South American and Spanish style of play. Personally I think the old style of play with more direct passing and getting the ball out wide to a winger or up to an ogre in attack, can still work at club level when you can coach the players day in and day out, but international football needs the players to be comfortable with what they know and how they play.

I'm sorry. I don't understand how it's MWs fault we didn't improve the defence? He bought in a RB, tried to get in a cb and a LB in, brought in a GK who got injured before he played and has strengthened the midfield to shield the defence and is trying to get the team to transition into an attractive attacking team. We are not defending particularly well, however a lot of the issues are individual errors.

Apparently. It also means our strikers are as good as Man Uniteds and our Manager is as good as Mourihno?

“Making more sense” is a matter of perception. I could look at the same wall as you but see it differently based on the position I’m stood in. The problem with outside looking in is that we don't see everything that happens internally. We don’t know about the finances, budgets, players, training, scouting, plans etc etc. The same could be said from the inside looking out because they could just get focused on one area and not see the bigger picture. What we need to do as supporters is support. Put things into perspective and get a healthy dose of realism. We are where we are, we do what we can and we need to accept it.
Do I think MW is perfect? No.
Do I think our team is good enough to get higher up? Yes.
Are we better than last year? Oh god yes in more ways than just league position.
Do I think I know better than others? Yes, but I realise that’s only my perception of my thoughts because I haven’t had a counter to give me a different way of thinking. It’s why discussion and opinions matter.

Doesn’t matter what we think, we don’t pick the teams.

For me it’ll be a back 4 probably a 442 or more likely a 4231 Osborn Dowell and McKay behind Walker. I can’t think of a way to get two strikers in but with the team set up players available and MWs tactics I honestly can only see this team. My main question is who’s playing RB?

I’ve got a feeling people might be sniffing around Osborn. It’d be a shame to see him go but if it’s a perm team and he puts in the performances like he did vs QPR I can see him getting a fair fee and have a pop at getting in the England squad in the next few years.
