Transfer window will be upon us soon. some of the ben brereton money could be used to get josh maja from Sunderland. Looks better than brereton.

Paulygee

1.) 21 Nov 2018 15:59:31
We will not be buying youth this window. 2 or 3 experienced guys in and shifting a few more out.

2.) 21 Nov 2018 16:09:00
Not sure if we'll risk buying more players. BB money probably be used to keep FFP in check. Maybe 3 or 4 fringe players released or loaned out and 1 or 2 brought in on loan to freshen the squad?

3.) 21 Nov 2018 17:44:59
I'm expecting at least ten in,but probably be the last day to see what's left.☝️☝️😁😁

4.) 21 Nov 2018 19:57:04
You can only have 5 loan players in a match-day squad. We already have Janko, Colback, Goncalves, Dias.

I hope he doesn't bring in more midfielders who don't even get in the squad lol (Did he actually want Tachsidis?)

5.) 21 Nov 2018 22:45:35
I think we need a back up for Robinson.

6.) 22 Nov 2018 08:03:49
I think the books still need some balancing. Don't be surprised if we lose someone like Osborn this window.

7.) 22 Nov 2018 13:56:08
Gazza: I'm a big believer in Osborn. But at the moment he isn't getting games, though I think he's better than Carvalho. I hope he's not getting into a position where he wants to move because of lack of game time. To me he would be a massive loss.

8.) 23 Nov 2018 09:50:37
I'm a big Osborne fan but unfortunatley given the system that AK plays he isn't quick enough to play left wing, which is the only position open for him if we continue to play 2 DCM players and a back four.

We should keep him though as He,Cash,Worrall,Yates,Gomis and Appiah could all step up to the 1st team in a year or so's time.

9.) 23 Nov 2018 15:13:20
Osborn featured in every single league game last season and started 42 of 46.

This season, despite increased competition for midfield places, he has still featured in all but 2 of our 17 league games, starting 9 with 6 sub apps.

Did someone say he isn't getting games? SMFH.

10.) 23 Nov 2018 21:45:52
Yes but how many were in midfield??🤔

11.) 24 Nov 2018 07:19:48
I think Osborn suits a 4-3-3 system better than the one we’re using. He needs to play on the left side and have the liscence to drift wide to support full backs and “wingers” (though they now should be called “Inside Forwards”). He has a decent cross but isn’t the quickest. He can pick a pass but isn’t the strongest to battle so letting him create a link on the left and threatening a few crosses into the box will help our game though that isn’t to say he can’t be used different ways I just think this is his best position and it’s not currently one we have a need for.

12.) 25 Nov 2018 10:15:29
It seems to me that Osborn is a victim of his own success due to his adaptability. I really hope that this doesn't lead to him being a squad member only as he always gives everything for the Garibaldi.

13.) 25 Nov 2018 22:14:15
He already is a squad member, barring injuries or suspensions to lolley, calvahalo or Robinson, he won't start.
It's as simple as that.

18 Nov 2018 20:38:31
Anyone heard anything about the prospect of a new main stand. I think we need it.

Paulygee

1.) 18 Nov 2018 21:14:22
Success on the pitch first the stand will come afterwards

2.) 18 Nov 2018 21:54:52
I was there when the last main stand burnt down.
Behind the goal. Old kop end. I could just see over the wall at the front.

3.) 18 Nov 2018 22:20:12
I loved standing on the kop in all weather's my favourite part of the ground great view, bring back the terraces all day for me,no one sits down in the lower stand anyway.

4.) 19 Nov 2018 08:26:15
I had to go and stand on the floodlight pylon base in the Bridgford End on a full house match day.

5.) 20 Nov 2018 12:20:47
Disagree Paulygee. Why not build a new Main Stand. It’s long over due an upgrade. To be successful, let’s look successful

6.) 21 Nov 2018 12:34:08
The overpowering stench of pee in the Trent End. Not one of my favourite memories,to be honest.

7.) 21 Nov 2018 15:58:39
Just waiting for the announcement next year of our ground relocation to Eastside as the anchor to a major Athens Principle Sport and Leisure Park making Nottingham a World Class Sports City with NFFC at its heart.

The City Ground is obsolete and not fit for 21st Century football purpose. But fear not my friends you will still be able to enjoy the peace and quiet from your armchair view on matchday by securing your retirement home overlooking the old centre circle and river while remembering the good old days?

Onward & Upward looking forward to the bonfire after we make the move!

8.) 21 Nov 2018 17:30:50
Is your exile self imposed?

9.) 21 Nov 2018 19:54:29
Lol - quite a creative soul aren’t you red? Like an exiled outspoken poet from times of yore !

10.) 21 Nov 2018 21:03:27
If the city ground is obsolete, how about Burnleys, Fulham, QPR and a lot more in the top two flights?
New main stand will be fine.

11.) 22 Nov 2018 10:32:03
Nothing like setting your sights on long term failure Ff779 joining such elite company!?🤔

12.) 22 Nov 2018 11:57:24
It's ok building new stadiums red when your succesfull,it can bite you though, only have to look at Coventry and see what can happen when your no longer in the prem.
We need to be established on the pitch first,no fun watching a struggling side in an empty 50K stadium.

13.) 22 Nov 2018 18:00:11
Not a problem if it's part of a bigger project that generates non football revenue as part of the mix. There is little point investing further in the City Ground when the existing stands do not even meet current stadia design criteria.

Mr M will have a plan but it will involve more partners and probably our dear neighbours!

14.) 22 Nov 2018 21:59:08
That's what the richo arena was built for, didn't do the football club any good though, same with MK Dons nice arena no fans and a poor team.
Only winners are pop concerts etc.

15.) 22 Nov 2018 22:10:06
I hope you are not suggesting ground sharing!

16.) 23 Nov 2018 07:19:05
He's always suggesting ground sharing

17.) 25 Nov 2018 21:56:31
Who with the cricket club?

23 Oct 2018 22:13:43
Hello all. First time I've messeged after many years of watching this site. Many years have i been a forest fan. I was a ball boy in 1982 lol. I'm hugely impressed with the owner and chairman. The correct infrastructure would seem to be there. however rome wasn't built in a day. All I'm saying is the better the devil you know. However it's not my money or you're money that's paying for the club. We can all have our rants but maranakis will ultimately make the decisions. Formatiocomens and team selection are subjective but results MATTER. Only time will tell. If the results for the next 3 or for games don't go well i think AK might be gone. Personally I think maranakis likes the look of jakanovic. Don't think he'll last much longer at Fulham. Come on you reds. What ever happens this glorious club with a wonderful history will be well supported and hopefully this could be the year we finally reach the premier league.

Paulygee

1.) 24 Oct 2018 06:55:34
Welcome to the site, agree the infrastructure is there and that the next three results could decide karankas future.
Think we have the squad, barring a goalkeeper and another striker, but can't see the premier this season under karanka, simply don't win enough games,it's as simple as that.

2.) 24 Oct 2018 09:51:12
I will add that the product is awful. With the investment which is the most this club has made in many years, you would expect improvement and decent football. Honestly results are not everything. A bit of excitement and passion is to me above all in football. Winning is not everything and losing is not fatal its the manner in which it is obtained or endured!!!!

3.) 24 Oct 2018 12:26:50
Think ak needs to look at himself more and not fans he could be a bit more animated himself

Quality quality post since 1951. Brilliant football film.

Paulygee

1.) 04 Nov 2018 21:30:02
Nice to see a big crowd yesterday it makes all the difference to fans and players not many empty seats great stuff i think we beat the sheeps attendance as well !!!

2.) 05 Nov 2018 13:43:28
Anyone interested in Altzheimers in football should read an article in a Scottish newspaper. Tap in Michael White Altzheimers daily record it gives a positive profile about it . He stumbled on this a few years ago now, and others are now following his discovery. Their are quality Scottish managers and players who fully endorse this. Another close friend of mine had a brother who played for forest in the sixties who lost his fight with Altzheimers so tragic he was a lovely man.

31 Oct 2018 12:32:47
Great shout balanceview . When we play poorly a lot of people blame the young Portuguese lads. Constant criticism is pointless.

Paulygee

1.) 31 Oct 2018 14:55:46
Constantly playing crap and being picked for the first team hoping by some miracle they will turn into fantastic footballers overnight and be worth the 15-20 million a piece price tag is pointless

31 Oct 2018 08:28:47
Not entirely surprised we lost last night after making so many changes. No continuity in team selection. I still don't think AK knows his best team especially the centre of defence. If by the new year were not in the top 6 and possibly challenging for automatic promotion then i think he'll be gone. Not that i necessarily agree with it but our owner is trigger happy. To be fair he's backed him with money and might not trust him to have anymore.

Paulygee

29 Oct 2018 21:14:04
I agree . Start with soudani.

Paulygee

29 Oct 2018 18:23:46
Why not start with concalves? What have we to loose? Its burton Albion. No disrespect but the league is more important.

Paulygee

1.) 29 Oct 2018 21:10:36
Because it wold be nice to get to the quarter finals

2.) 29 Oct 2018 23:58:41
29th November 2014 , Birmingham v Forest , its the 89th minute with the game at 1-1 Rowett manager of Birmingham Psyco for us , Britt Assombalongo clears the ball off the line and the ref gives a corner , but the Birmingham players surround the referee and Rowett has a go at the 4th official they were saying that he had handled the ball on the line and in an unprecedented action the referee consulted the 4th official and changed his mind and gave a penalty and sent Assombalonga off , Birmingham scored the penalty and we lost 2-1 , why couldn't the referee consult the 4th official last Saturday ? the referee that day was none other than Geoff Eltringham AKA the Bottler

3.) 30 Oct 2018 00:18:58
Goncalves will end up being the best out the 3. He hasn't had a decent run of games yet but I think there is a lot more to come from him. Let's give the guy a chance.

4.) 30 Oct 2018 08:28:59
How much of him have you seen to make that statement?

5.) 30 Oct 2018 08:32:11
Everyone deserves a chance for sure . Defo worth giving him a shot in the cup I’d say.

6.) 30 Oct 2018 10:22:11
I expect him to play tonight Pauly, he was doing ok in the last cup game against Stoke till he got sent off, thought that was a bit harsh too.

We have a better squad than previous seasons and some very good players who don't even make the bench match days.

7.) 30 Oct 2018 11:28:53
What do we have to lose Pauly?
A place in a cup quarter final if we don't take Burton seriously.
If you have ever seen us play in a cup final, you might think a bit differenly mate.

8.) 30 Oct 2018 11:31:18
Great point Skeg. The 4th official was on the right side of the pitch to see the handball without the need for video!

9.) 30 Oct 2018 11:37:47
Without sounding racist I think the portugeezer's are too lightweight to be playing against teams that like to get stuck in and I reckon Burton will be one of those sides.

10.) 30 Oct 2018 16:10:52
Psycho c how on earth can it be construed as racist to criticise a player because he’s Portuguese?? That’s your opinion it’s called freedom of speech, sometimes wonder where all this is going to end, seems it’s ok to have a programme on tv called 'why does everyone hate the English' we’re supposed to laugh about that though.

11.) 30 Oct 2018 16:43:44
Stevie my view is purely based on what I've read from Portuguese journalists who claim Goncalves has the most potential. From my point of view in the 4231 formation it's the 3 behind the striker that will be the difference between finishing top 6 and not. Lolley has been outstanding,Carvalho has work to do.Dias and Cash need to give us a bit more quality down the right.Goncalves could be the surprise package

12.) 30 Oct 2018 17:03:42
Perks hope u turn out to be right mate

13.) 30 Oct 2018 17:28:03
Once they put their thermals on they'll be ok

14.) 30 Oct 2018 17:50:10
Hope Goncalves dosen,t turn out the best of the three when we,ve paid 13m for JC ,now that will worry me !
CARLO

15.) 30 Oct 2018 18:04:47
I think some on here would crucify JC if that were the case carlo😀

16.) 30 Oct 2018 18:25:05
Isn’t goncalves supposed to be rated at 20 mill anyway?

17.) 30 Oct 2018 19:37:28
So they say. I take it Benfica have set the price.

18.) 30 Oct 2018 20:17:27
Stating something negative about a foreign individual whether true or otherwise could be construed as racist by the politically correct muppets of this world. You never know in this day and age.
