Is all this criticism Worrall gets justified? he was in an awful team zero protection from midfield, mancienne as a partner and silent Smith behind him what chance did the young lad stand I think he would thrive in this side.

Red James

1.) 04 Dec 2018 08:20:11
He's below par, just like Brereton and Walker. A liability.

2.) 04 Dec 2018 08:40:50
And what can you use to make that opinion he hasn't had a chance in good side any defender would of looked bad in that defence is my point one man can't make a defence

3.) 04 Dec 2018 09:57:58
A defender is there to defend the goal, what side he's in is totally irrelevant. Yes in a poorer side he may have to do more defending, but it's still defending and Worrall is just an old school, head it and hit it. He's a liability at the back, his anticipation is poor, always seems 1 second or 2 behind the game. Just like pants, if he's bought back, he will cost us goals and maybe promotion.

4.) 04 Dec 2018 10:02:15
If anything, a defender in a poor team has the chance to shine, be the one to step up and show class, Worrall never did that.

5.) 04 Dec 2018 10:26:52
Gazza

Absolute rubbish!!!

Poor JW had a useless CH partner and two poor fullbacks and a keeper who didn’t communicate. On top of that he had two useless central midfielders.

What chance did the lad have??!!!!!

Be real. . He needed to come into a good side, a bit like Dawson did when he started alongside Des Walker with Crossley behind him.

6.) 04 Dec 2018 11:12:30
Fox looked bad for three seasons trying to play centre back, all of a sudden a world beaterthis season?🤔
The defence never had the likes of colback Watson geddy or Jacob in front of them.
Worrall will be class and a future captain.
Only as good as the players around you,it's a team game not about individuals

7.) 04 Dec 2018 11:26:33
Ahh echoes of how good Brereton once was in some peoples eyes and how much of a travesty it was that we sold him. 7m doesn't look so bad now though does it. Worrall is no different, he's never shown anything to suggest he's ever going to be any other than a mediocre championship defender. People just have a blinkered vision on home grown players.

8.) 04 Dec 2018 12:24:07
Ok gazza what should we do with appiah?
Sell him quick, because according to some,if they are home grown then they are only ever going to be average at best?
England think different of Worrall and he didn't do too badly.
Too early to write off brereton yet, don't think he made a good career move there.

9.) 04 Dec 2018 13:35:53
I think GazzaRed must've found Joe Worrall in bed with Mrs GazzaRed.

IMHO

10.) 04 Dec 2018 13:39:04
Surely this is an opportunity for an under 23 player to be on the bench. Good experience. Don't forget, Colback can play at left back as well.

11.) 04 Dec 2018 14:09:41
Worrall is ok and in my opinion is a very good player. Working with Hefele and Robinson beside him to keep him in tune with what he needs to do will be a good prospect. Some of you are forgetting he was made England U21 Captain. You don't get that recognition unless you are a good player. As long as the price was low buying back Olly Burke is a no-brainer; he can terrify defences.

12.) 04 Dec 2018 14:25:26
Personally Worrall would have learned more staying here and learning in training from Dawson,he'd have had a chance to get the team at some point.

13.) 04 Dec 2018 16:15:32
FF799, I'd say it all depends how much first team action he gets at Rangers. If he plays but was 5th choice here then maybe not. I do like the idea of Dawson mentoring him, either second half of this season or next season in the Prem.

Agree with the sentiment above. He hasn't just Captained England under 21s. He has captained an England under 21 trophy winning team hasn't he? Fantastic prospect and red through and through. His detractors are full of bovine excreta.

14.) 04 Dec 2018 16:25:10
When Dawson's not injured, of course.

15.) 04 Dec 2018 16:28:31
Sorry Gazza can't disagree more defence is a unit if your partner is out of position your passed round easily if your left and right back are beaten time and again you can't defend cross after cross find your comment amazing why don't we just play one at the back then and have more attacking players if that's the case

16.) 04 Dec 2018 16:47:42
Just to be clear, Fox played as a left back but always had decent games when asked to cover at CB. Worral would not have got a look in if he stayed here this year, best thing to loan him out.

I remember a young John Terry coming to us for a season, it will do Worral a world of good.

17.) 04 Dec 2018 19:51:38
Appiah actually has some quality. When Worralls back in the team and he's being a calamity and you're all slating him,I'll be the one saying I told you so

18.) 04 Dec 2018 20:31:48
We can all be wrong though gazza, look at Darikwa, totally different player this season, magnificent on Saturday, great shot for the first and great delivery for the last, but his defending has improved dramatically as well.
It's not always how good you are,but about the confidence the team has and how they perform as a unit.
Appiah obviously is a talent,he plays for England and performs on that stage,so did Worrall and was a winner in the process,so they can see the talent, maybe that should be taken on board???

19.) 05 Dec 2018 06:59:06
Michael mancienne played for England.

20.) 05 Dec 2018 18:12:28
Give it up, GazzaRed. You're writing off a 21yo centre-half who has shown promise and it's foolish.

Even if he does turn out to be an average Championship defender, I'd rather have him here as 3rd or 4th choice than some overpaid foreign mercenary.

Lascelles is an excellent comparison. Showed good promise but never really excelled in the Forest first team on a consistent basis and no one moaned too much when he moved on to Newcastle. In his first season at Newcastle he wasn't regular and they were relegated. A few years on, he's back in the Prem and one of the first names on the turn sheet. Patience is required, especially with young defenders. Even more so if they're one of your own.

21.) 05 Dec 2018 20:42:43
Good post SSWE.

22.) 05 Dec 2018 21:23:58
Agree, not sure what the turn sheet is though??or do I??
I'm just glad the lads ok and the doctors have got him "regular" now, must have taken a load off?🤣🤣🤣🤣

23.) 06 Dec 2018 15:27:48
Sorry, should've read 'team sheet'!

24.) 07 Dec 2018 23:56:47
Worrall is as good as Lascelles in my opinion. Better than Wes Morgan was at 21! Digest that fact for a moment.

Morgan has captained a champions league team and Lascelles a Premier league one and neiother were better than Worrall at 21

03 Nov 2018 08:56:55
I see TM wants to use Bereton as a winger lol and the fans are calling the deal a waste of money, some are asking if they can pull out of the deal.

Red James

1.) 03 Nov 2018 18:33:42
Ha ha what a shocker. No thanks, we don’t want him back.

03 Aug 2018 22:06:55
I think we should sign Burke Antonio and Britt 😂.

Red James

1.) 03 Aug 2018 22:24:26
Have you just win the Euro millions?
Or is a Turkish holiday really that cheap?🤣🤣🤣

2.) 03 Aug 2018 22:57:22
To be fair red James the three Portuguese lads look the real deal and they say never look back?

3.) 03 Aug 2018 23:30:29
You might be joking but I'd suggest Burke is available at the right price.

4.) 03 Aug 2018 23:39:33
Could pay in lira would help a lot lol

5.) 03 Aug 2018 23:40:45
But yes they do I was at the Bournemouth game and we looked the prem side and them championship just concerned with Murphy getting the number 9 shirt

6.) 04 Aug 2018 08:10:22
Murphy needs the number 9 bus out of here.

7.) 04 Aug 2018 17:38:33
@Red always: WRONG!

8.) 04 Aug 2018 21:36:04
Murphy has a role to play or AK wouldn't play him. Most fans would welcome the Murphy we saw at the start of last season. Injury and personal issues robbed us of that player. His age and contract will attract unfair criticism, his only escape is to score goals. So well done Murphy, well done AK keep doing what you're well paid to do.👏

9.) 05 Aug 2018 14:22:57
Agreed.

He didn't give himself the contract. We are paying him what we are paying him but that and his personal probs last season don't make him a bad player. I just reckon people have been unfair with him and should give him a break.

27 Jun 2018 12:57:26
Formal offer has made to Daniel Podence.

Red James

1.) 27 Jun 2018 13:09:42
Portuguese Messi

2.) 27 Jun 2018 13:12:02
Who ?. Get Marriott in and get in done and offload Grant if need be

3.) 27 Jun 2018 13:37:30
Marriott is way overpriced just like bambi.
Let some other club take the risk.

4.) 27 Jun 2018 13:44:19
Getting a feeling that Marriott isn't what AK is looking for,I think a proven goalscorer at this level, fingers crossed for grabben

5.) 27 Jun 2018 14:19:25
Soudani medical Friday.
Grabbon hopefully but we defo need another central midfielder. We got Watson bridgcutt.
Geddy not good enough osbourne cash can do a job there but little light weight.
Clayton needs signing. No more overseas players
Got enough. we need championship/prem experience

6.) 27 Jun 2018 14:26:02
Anyone heard anything on Robles?

7.) 27 Jun 2018 14:36:47
Mo Besic please

8.) 27 Jun 2018 15:49:03
Haven't we reached capacity in midfield yet?

9.) 27 Jun 2018 17:20:27
Capacity? Nonsense. Yes we need to sell/loan players. But what do you want the management to do if a better player than we have becomes availably. Bring him in and remove a weaker player or keep the weaker squad?

That is how you strengthen. You bring in better players than you have. Only an idiot would keep what they have and turn down better players.

10.) 27 Jun 2018 17:31:33
Like your post red cyclist.
Very true indeed.

11.) 27 Jun 2018 18:14:41
Roy our now saying Soudani to sign for calgiari

12.) 27 Jun 2018 18:50:04
RedCyclist I am fully aware of the philosophy behind the strenghtening of an existing squad and the commerce that is necessary to facilitate such an endevour, but thanks for reminding me.

13.) 28 Jun 2018 06:21:54
Sgetty May I also remind you that this a rumours page not the banter page.
Sarcastic or condescending posts will be treated with an appropriate manner as such that your post maybe forwarded to the Derby County site for thorough investigation into why you have posted such a post regarding commerce, philosophical strengthening of a football team.
Fwank and Crush candy mel will give you the opportunity to explain your theory to the board to put your example of commerce and strengthening into the new Derby. County Model also known FFP.
You have been warned! 😂😂😂😂😂

14.) 28 Jun 2018 08:16:02
"RedCyclist I am fully aware of the philosophy behind the strenghtening of an existing squad"

So you know I'm right then. Congratulations on actually admitting the obvious truth - that the foremoaners are wrong about bringing in better midfielders is the wrong thing to do!

It's like trying t suck blood from a stone getting people to admit they are wrong on here. :P

15.) 28 Jun 2018 11:42:41
Can't say I've tried to suck blood from anything nevermind a stone?
Care to elaborate red 🚴 😂 😂 😂?

16.) 28 Jun 2018 12:16:57
My blood is red. That's all you need to know. :)

25 Jun 2018 15:58:46
Season long loan for Sam byram and rumoured to be putting in a bid for Fabio would 2 great signings I think.

Red James

1.) 25 Jun 2018 16:11:31
players and their agents alike clearly want to be part of this 'project'. It's great that Forest have become players first choice of destination. how things can change so quickly. A couple of seasons ago we couldn't attract anything like the calibre of player we needed.

2.) 25 Jun 2018 16:40:03
Both would be great additions! Isn't there a ruling on how many loans you can have in a match squad tho? If these are both loans we are up to 4 already!

3.) 25 Jun 2018 16:49:24
Yes I believe u can have up to 5 loans in your squad however Fabio will be prmenant and Byrom will be a loan

4.) 25 Jun 2018 16:56:02
With a surname of Byram he sounds as if he should be in the sheeps squad.

5.) 25 Jun 2018 16:58:15
Byram would be a season long loan and talks of 3m for Fabio from Middlesbrough. That would be LB and Rb taken care of.

6.) 25 Jun 2018 16:59:00
Is there an agreed future fee for Byram? and how much we paying for Fabio? Just need to tie up deals for these 2 and Clayton, Stuani, Soudani, Marriott and get a keeper then we are in business 😄

7.) 25 Jun 2018 17:50:29
If we get half the players in doing the rounds we’ll win the World Cup never mind the championship lol COYR

8.) 25 Jun 2018 20:07:08
Sam Byram would be a good signing especially if we can agree an option to sign him. Class act but had injuries at West Ham so he will be keen to get back on track. An upgrade on Eric.

Not keen on Fabio or a fan of short full backs who will get exposed. Sooner have BO at left back than him for £3m which is well over the top?

9.) 25 Jun 2018 21:12:15
Just proves that BO is on his way as I doubt he’s getting in our midfield either if all of these new additions and further targets materialise

10.) 25 Jun 2018 21:12:43
I did not know body odour could play football, if it could it would have a stinker of a game. 😁

11.) 25 Jun 2018 23:44:03
Think both these would be great though wouldn’t pay£3m for Fabio.
I read on some Portuguese sites that Jose Sa deal is virtually done with Porto but will need to agreed personal terms that might be stumbling block. Personally think he would be great signing and better than Pants. Is good with his feet and disruption and strong shot stopper just likes to punch crosses but Pants does too! As is younger and more experienced in some ways (Recent regular champions league and regular league in Portugal and for Under 21s a few years back)

30 Nov 2018 21:22:24
Bit worried ak will push Robinson to centre half and play osborn at left back really hope I'm wrong.

Red James

1.) 30 Nov 2018 21:47:16
Why. That’s what he should do. .You prefer Hefele the carthorse?

2.) 30 Nov 2018 22:06:32
Not got a problem with Robinson at centre half.
Different story with Osborn at left back though.
Really hope Fox is fit in time to face the sheep. Don't fancy Hefele at centre half or Osborn at left back in that game especially.

3.) 30 Nov 2018 22:24:40
This is where we should have kept Worrall, far better than Heff

4.) 30 Nov 2018 22:34:54
FF ABSOLUTELY. .everyone slated me when I defended Joe in the Summer and Autumn. I prefer him to Hefele and Fox any day.

He was outstanding again last night.

Travesty that he has been farmed out and we have signed that carthorse from Huddersfield who couldn’t get anywhere near their team. .

5.) 30 Nov 2018 22:54:40
This is also what makes me laugh north fans willing to give carvallho a youngster time in the team to give him experience to build on but the likes of our own youngsters are expected to go out elsewhere to get it

6.) 30 Nov 2018 22:56:03
No nnr because osborn can't play there at all might be out of position but would rather janko there at least he is a defender

7.) 30 Nov 2018 23:11:01
Derby play a 4 3 3 so they will attempt to go through us. So Robinson might be ok jn the middle. Our keeper is the problem and derby will exploit that.

8.) 01 Dec 2018 00:25:59
Got to beat Ipswich and Preston before we think about Dierby. I hasten to add ‘think’ rather than worry, because Dierby will be worrying about Lolley, Grabban, Cash, Carvalho etc etc

9.) 01 Dec 2018 04:58:02
Last season Worrall made some mistakes and he got slated, and yes we could do with him right now, but sending him out on loan has and Will make him a better player and we will reap the benefits, There’s enough in the squad to cope with in the next few games.
If we win the next few games we should cement ourselves in the play off spots, so for now AK we trust.
Uuu Reds

10.) 01 Dec 2018 10:09:37
Very sensible comment Demis 👏🏻

28 Nov 2018 21:45:57
Forest have announced pants can't play for us again as he has taken root on the villa pitch and be removed.

Red James

1.) 28 Nov 2018 22:06:06
I wonder if the villa fans are calling for their keepers head after conceding 5. Stats say we were second best all over the pitch. We’ve got a great point at a very tricky place against a team that will make the top two.

2.) 28 Nov 2018 22:56:20
Them stats are crap we was the better team tonight hour keeper was bad we looked class going forward

18 Nov 2018 23:40:07
I see a few comments about pants clean sheets but if you look at those clean sheets he hardly had to make to save, the defence is protecting him now, on a second note if we got a point every time a defender shielded a ball for pants to collect and ended up knocking it out for a corner because after screaming at him he still hasn't moved we would be promoted already, butland earnt stoke a point against us would pants if stopped those. no grabbans one on one butland was off line like usain bolt pants would of been rooted and conceded as for lolleys effort doubt he would of reacted there's the difference between a top 6 keeper and an average one.

Red James

1.) 19 Nov 2018 09:27:49
The keeper is part of the defence and together they have 7 clean sheets 3rd highest in the league.there working together to keep goals out just as any other defence would.lol.

2.) 19 Nov 2018 21:26:27
First rule of goalkeeping. If you cannot make the catch then make sure you parry the ball away from danger!

So why does everyone pick on Pants for parrying the ball away from danger?

Not seen too many video clips or matches where he gets punished on the rebound?

Maybe because of his size he gets noticed more during a game than the dwarfs on the pitch?

Just saying!

3.) 19 Nov 2018 22:14:54
No doubt Pants has some flaws but he's the best keeper we've had at the club in a while and he's certainly good enough for where we're at right now. If we go up, he's someone you'd want to improve upon.

Not sure why he gets so much stick on here. He's awkward looking and cumbersome but generally a decent keeper. His distribution can be erratic, especially with the ball at his feet and he's not the most agile but he often makes harder saves look a lot easier with the use of his vast frame. He's good 1v1 and despite his criticism with the high ball he's light-years ahead of what we've had for the past year or two with regards to commanding his box and being a presence behind the back four.

Do we always have to single a player out for criticism? It seems there always has to be one.

4.) 19 Nov 2018 22:48:37
If we're serious about promotion do we want an awkward and cumbersome keeper with erratic distribution, and not very agile that's quite a long list for someone your defending, and red he rarely catches that's the point it's always parry I've seen plenty of clips of him rooted to the spot or kicking straight to the opposition, sorry Sutton pants doesn't organise the defence and be vocal his lack of presence in the box hardly breeds confidence in the defence, I just don't think if were serious about top 6 he is the man to build that platform from

5.) 20 Nov 2018 08:50:03
Pants is not pants ok?

6.) 20 Nov 2018 10:07:24
Pants is I’m sad to say pants at some time in most games that I plays in,there’s always a mistake in him and his distribution is shocking. Most of us know that even Karanka must see it,BUT at this moment he’s got the jersey, and although I end up with a sticky bum every time he gets near the ball he’s our No 1 at the moment so let's try to get behind him, and not slag him off to much

7.) 21 Nov 2018 10:56:41
I thought Smith was a better all round keeper than pants ,pants is a 6ft plus keeper who's afraid of coming for the ball on crosses didn't command his area , we could see if Peter schmickle as any more kids

8.) 21 Nov 2018 10:57:54
Sticky Pants is good for a Goalie. At least the ball sticks!

31 Oct 2018 09:00:03
I've got to stick up for the players on this one, how can any player be expected to perform and be match sharp after hardly playing they are decent players just with no game time last night was ak's fault for throwing too many in at once and away from home he just didn't take it seriously enough.

Red James

1.) 31 Oct 2018 10:22:43
They are a struggling league 1 team. That experienced set of players should have had more than enough. Barring the keeper and subs we were garbage.

2.) 31 Oct 2018 10:39:07
He didn't want to win the game it's that simple

3.) 31 Oct 2018 10:47:14
Perks
Playing with Energy, Passion, and as a Team is a great leveler when playing against a team that treats you with disrespect.

4.) 31 Oct 2018 11:04:07
Complete rubbish Skeg sorry

5.) 31 Oct 2018 11:11:35
Lol perks there's no doubt about it 😆

6.) 31 Oct 2018 12:06:17
not going to lie, the changes made were players who had been in and around the 1st team all season. wasn't like we played a team full of youngsters and nobody's, our experienced players didn't turn up, end of, so blaming a manager for playing a different team in the cup is just a way for people hating on AK to have another dig at him, we beat boro 2-0 you were all his biggest fans then, get a grip, seriously

7.) 31 Oct 2018 12:33:32
NFFC
How is it AK can motivate the players against the likes of West Brom, Middlesbrough, Stoke, Swansea, and Newcastle but is unable to manage to motivate them against Bolton, Wigan, Millwall, Bury, and Burton Albion.

You can not just blame the players, as you can not just blame the manager.

8.) 31 Oct 2018 13:46:50
Motivation should come from within. Children need motivation, highly paid professional footballers shouldn't need a manager to gee them up for a potential cup quarter final.

9.) 31 Oct 2018 14:20:48
Perks
If that is the case why is it when looking for a new manager a lot of people point to managers that are good at man management.?

30 Oct 2018 21:33:41
Too many players lacking game time don't think our first 11 would of lost back to the league.

Sutton no never been a keeper but seen plenty take one step off there line to catch or punch the ball to safety or the very least out the striker under pressure, but maybe your right staying on line giving the striker the whole goal to aim at is right keepers seem to manage to collect crosses we make so why can't he

Like I was told before last night's game we should just show him our support bet those opinions have changed sorry never liked him and never will he will cost us promotion, being kind he has cost us 6 points so far this season that would have made us joint 1st make steel number 1, Smith number 2 then send him out on loan to league 2
