Well done lads grinding out a result from the bus parkers.

What a difference a week makes. We are now one of only four teams only to have lost 1 game out of 9 league matches.

Next 3 games against the other 3 teams so we will see how well we are set after Matchday 12.

Onward and Upward.

22 Sep 2018 09:43:53
The target today is at least 3 goals today. A goal from a corner (Hef? ) a penalty from a break running through and a drive from outside the box.
Job done 3 points Onward and Upwards.

1.) 22 Sep 2018 10:58:11
Would be fantastic. I do hope you're right Red

2.) 22 Sep 2018 11:32:53
It would be even better if Grabban were to put the penalty away.

3.) 22 Sep 2018 12:32:54
Osborn to score a free kick today.

4.) 22 Sep 2018 21:12:59
Well guys we permed Ossie, GrabOne and the penalty!

19 Sep 2018 22:48:53
Well for a manager who according to some does not have a clue we seem to have destroyed some myths tonight.
1, A settled team selection starting to gel
2. Another dominating performance and virtually unemployed goalkeeper.
3. Hunting in packs to chase the game down from the front.
4. GrabOne off the mark doing what he does best.
5. Carvalho providing a spark and opening his account.
6. Colback showing his class
7. A good winning performance

7 reasons to be cheerful even the Resident Banker should be happy at the head of the queue at the Melton Road Humble Pie shop. Fill your boots.

1.) 19 Sep 2018 23:41:55
No argument from me red tonight, long may it continue.

2.) 19 Sep 2018 23:42:20
Spot on Red but they will be hoping for a fall on Saturday

3.) 20 Sep 2018 00:49:18
Anyone hoping for a fall on Saturday is not a Forest fan.

4.) 20 Sep 2018 05:55:47
Redfred hoping for a fall?. really. no a WIN. !

5.) 20 Sep 2018 11:03:57
A positive post from The Bank! Who ate all the pies? 😋

6.) 20 Sep 2018 14:59:13
As some on here love churning out negative stats, how about a positive one :
we have now won twice as many league games this season than we have lost. .lol.

7.) 20 Sep 2018 20:16:09
Some of us just say it as we see it,it's nothing to do with being negative it's what we have witnessed with our own eyes.
If we play well I'm always saying so,if we play badly I also say so.
Problem is we havnt played well that often for the past few years.
It's called just being honest and not glossing over poor performances and just hoping that something will turn up,no point kidding yourself that everything is Rosie when it's not
I've always said I didn't want karanka here, but I'll praise him when we perform well and I'll tell you when we don't,
I don't do excuses, the odd bad game will happen and we will have the odd bad luck,
All about opions and that's the fun of this site.
If we all agreed the add would be redundant.

17 Sep 2018 21:39:18
How many games without a scoring run do you give your top striker before you write him off?

1.) 17 Sep 2018 22:50:52
One less than Grabnone has had red. Not even looked like scoring. I’m sure there are other strikers who would have slotted into our style much more than he does. Gestede suigs our style better. Even you have to concede the signings suggested a certain type of football that got us all excited in the summer. We are not playing the style that the signings suggested so why didn’t we sign players to suit the chosen formation / style. That’s my gripe with Forwar at the moment why spend a bomb on the wrong type of players ? It just doesn’t make any sense .

2.) 18 Sep 2018 07:46:47
That's always been my problem with karanka, there doesn't seem to be a set reason to sign players to fit his style,it's just quantity over quality and trying to get it to work.
Not the greatest of plans, just have to hope the Iranian will have a bit of guile and more, importantly pace,to get behind the opposition.
To me karanka is trying to play like man city, that's ok when you have a quick intelligent striker like augureo and pace in midfield, that's not what we have, for now he should change tactics, there is a team in that oversized squad to get wins.
I still hope he proves me wrong and it clicks, starting tomorrow against wenesday, but from w what I've seen it's a long way off with playing his style with the players at his disposal

3.) 18 Sep 2018 11:11:35
Anyone care to explain the difference between Daryl Murphy & Rudy Gestede? Apart from the fact Gested is even more reliant on the delivery into the box we don't supply.

This is a cyclical argument that won't dissappear until we've got at least another 8/10 games under our belt. Its mental to condemn what we're doing after 9 games, particularly after Swansea.

4.) 18 Sep 2018 12:36:53
That's what I don't get with you cjay, you think karankas the one and yet you've just said we don't get delivery into the box for the strikers?
That's not going to change with the tactics he uses.

5.) 18 Sep 2018 12:51:59
Its not difficult to comprehend. As far as i'm concerned we're 9 games into something that's going to take time to sort.

Theres too many fans believe what's being rolled out now is what we can expect as the norm, its not. We could get width from the FBs in time, we could end up with a fluid 433 with Grabban, Soudani & Dias all playing facing goal.

I ain't prepared to bail on a manager who's got a team out this league, he's just staffed us to the hilt with his players, he's gout us losing 1 in 9, conceding at a goal a game, physically more resolute, difficult to beat. Why wouldn't you wait for the next process to take shape?

Youve said you don't like his style, you'll probably never accept even a watered down version because your mind is made up. Your choice, fair play, but given Karankas name gets chanted relentlessly at games, I don't think your representative of the majority. a lot of fans have seen the changes in mentality & are happy we're in the right hands.

6.) 18 Sep 2018 13:19:51
That's the thing he won't play 433 or any other formation so you'll have a long wait.
Why should it take time for the full backs to give us width, surely that's part of their jobs being full backs,it can't have been alien to them till now?
Plenty of fans not happy, just cus a block and bridgford sing his name occasionally doesn't.mean he has the backing of the whole crowd.

7.) 18 Sep 2018 13:52:03
Ff don't to rise to diabolical posts.
We all know Senor maneul isn’t the Messiah.
Just appease those who are brainwashed 😂😂😂

8.) 18 Sep 2018 13:53:42
"Thats the thing, he won't play 433 or any other formation so you'll have a long wait". What sort of an answer is that. He played 433 to decent effect at Boro, he's also switched to 442, 352 during games. what's this ridiculous notion the guy ain't versatile?

Im telling you mate, these forums make up the tiniest insignificant majority of the fanbase opinion. With most of the sensible opinion based on settling on a no nonsense, pro active manager who'll drag the players with him, not the other way round.

Aw for width, Darikwa was awful, would you trust him going forward, likewise Osborn to la lesser extent.

Janko looks a miles better bet, Robinson looks capable going forward. These lads are new to the fold, what is it about the concept of time that folk can't seem to get their head round.

9.) 18 Sep 2018 14:16:26
I was never worried with darikwa and Osborn going forwards,it was the defending that worried me.
Anyway looking forward to tomorrow night and Saturday to see 451.😁😁

10.) 18 Sep 2018 14:31:15
So you'll understand why he didn't necessarily want those players going up & down.

11.) 18 Sep 2018 15:49:23
totally agree with CJay,things will get better, there have been signs that there is a good side there.
Only Brentford gave us a real hard time otherwise we have been either a match or dominated the opposition.
Granted we have won too few games but also drew games we would have lost last season. Slowly ,slowly on the up.
as for FF , i'm sure the manager doesn't tell the players to not cross the ball in to the box in his tactical briefing.
STILL HAPPY and glass half full

12.) 18 Sep 2018 16:10:58
Could somebody tell me Karanka's record so far at Forest in the league?

13.) 18 Sep 2018 16:11:16
How many times have we actually won?

14.) 18 Sep 2018 16:35:39
Trentender so you thought we dominated brum then??

15.) 18 Sep 2018 16:37:33
Think it's 6 from 27 not exactly sure 7 from 30 in all.
Good init?

16.) 18 Sep 2018 16:42:52
Slowly? Your not wrong there,as for the managers instruction l,we all know they aren't doing what he tells them ,because he tells us🤔🤔
But were getting there, let me know where we are going and when we get there.

17.) 18 Sep 2018 17:21:44
Maybe we should go back to the Warburton days, roll out plan A from the off, attempt to play passing football in the face of the opposition & get taken from behind every game. This is the reality of where we were & probably why the best approach this time is sort yourself out at the back before attempting the same thing again.

Seriously, this "I want wins & I want em now" is totally ignorant of what's being put together here. Look, it might fall on its face, but not giving it time is criminal when the same manager has taken a team up with the same process.

We don't deserve nice things here, bailing out because we're not winning from the outset

18.) 18 Sep 2018 18:05:48
If it falls on it's face,as you put it,then we are in trouble if we leave it too long, megson being the prime example of not acting quickly enough.
I have faith in the owners that they won't allow that happen and if things don't improve they will do it sooner rather than later.
Hoping for two wins then I will be more confident he can take us forward.🤞🤞

19.) 18 Sep 2018 19:21:11
That is a dire record. We need to improve VERY QUICKLY or we will be nowhere near promotion this season.

I could agree about giving it time if the owners were happy to wait until this time next year but that won't happen. If they are going to bail out and sack the boss this season for poor results then I'd rather they did it soon if there is no improvement to give a new boss long enough. Sounds silly but there is logic to that.

20.) 18 Sep 2018 19:25:24
why are people banging on about managers results last season ?
he inherited garbage, did enough to prevent relegation with a few signings to fill gaps.
This pre season he has got rid of lots of the garbage and loaned out the ones not ready yet and in the meantime brought in half a squad.
We should be judging him from now.

21.) 18 Sep 2018 19:36:40
I actually think we have to give him the season, we’ve had a major upheaval of the clubs playing staff and another major upheaval could be cause more problems than it solves I don’t think this bloke could get us relegated, neither do I think we’ll die of excitement, but I think he deserves a full season to try to integrate his ideas fully

22.) 18 Sep 2018 20:23:20
Stevie, this whole thread is totally irrelevant, I guarantee you Marinakis will pull the trigger if results don’t improve. I like Karanka so I hope they do, I think i we’ve made some random signings that aren’t ‘his type’ and lament we have a 34 year old Murphy rather than 30 year old Murphy. A 30 year old Murphy would smash it in this system. All that said though - wow 😮 that is a really poor win % isn’t it? I assume we a high draw % rather than an extremely high defeat %? In any case Karanka will know he needs to secure more victories in the next few weeks is the rarity of victories is a fact that can’t be ignored and certainly not what I thought we’d expect when we made the appointment - which was the best we could have made at the time.

23.) 18 Sep 2018 21:19:59
Well chaps this thread was all very interesting but as usual hijacked by the anti Karanka brigade!

My original post was

"How many games without a scoring run do you give your top striker before you write him off"?

Anybody playing?

24.) 18 Sep 2018 21:48:40
Certainly more than he has had and better service wouldn’t go amiss

25.) 18 Sep 2018 21:53:48
Don't think you can write him off as we only have Murphy to take his place,so he plays or Murphy plays ,we have no alternative,
They both get injured and were in big trouble.
Don't say gomis anyone,the lad isn't ready.

26.) 18 Sep 2018 22:11:09

27.) 18 Sep 2018 22:42:10
Soudani doesn't look an out and out striker and the Iranian hasn't signed.

28.) 19 Sep 2018 09:58:45
With a 1 in 2 ratio, he's certainly an alternative lol.

29.) 19 Sep 2018 11:11:17
Yes cjay and when he doesn't score for us maybe we should give him time to climatize and gel lol

30.) 19 Sep 2018 12:22:14
Apart from the two he's already scored.

31.) 19 Sep 2018 16:32:41
I'm banging on about the managers results last season because he brought in TEN PLAYERS last season and results DID NOT improve then. He has brought in about 18 players now but ten were here for six months last season!

32.) 19 Sep 2018 18:13:41
In other words he basically got a whole new first team in and couldn't get a win for toffee last season. Some people on here are just not prepared to admit their chosen one hasn't delivered yet.

33.) 19 Sep 2018 20:47:32
Clearly you know nothing about team building. AK delivered safety after Warbo's tikka takka down the table.
As for this season we are only 8 games in so what exactly are you expecting. The manager is not a trick cyclist but a steady roadster!

34.) 19 Sep 2018 23:14:36
The answer to my original post is" as many as it takes to GrabOne!" ☺️

35.) 19 Sep 2018 23:44:06
We finished lower after Karanka replaced 10 of Warburton's players. You're talking garbage buddy.

36.) 20 Sep 2018 11:04:13
The Warbo garbage has been put out for the bin men. Get over it!
You never saw a Warbo team play with such resolve and tempo as this team in the last 2 games.
Time to look forward or get on your bike buddy.
Onward and Upward

15 Sep 2018 17:54:29
Sounds like we sorted out our defensive frailties with today's selection and now have a solid foundation upon which to build. Just now need to start taking our chances from the possession this platform provides.

Onward and Upwards.

1.) 15 Sep 2018 18:10:14
If Aitor makes 5 more changes in the next game where will the solid foundation be.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 18:50:00
Red your right something to build on defensively, but he will have to make changed for a home game as it needs more creativity to break a team down but good point today and something to build on

3.) 15 Sep 2018 21:43:01
If those chances Osborn had fell to any of the other forward players we’d probably have won today. I would probably swap him for Carvalho (for creativity) then it comes down to guedioras fitness.

4.) 15 Sep 2018 22:37:03
No way should Osborn be dropped for carvalho at the moment- no way. Makes me laugh out loud how our most consistent performer makes way for someone just because we’ve blown half of our budget on him. Osborn barley puts a foot wrong no matter where he’s asked to play

5.) 15 Sep 2018 23:07:04
They weren't clear cut chances my friend not even half chances to be fair,it was a game that had nil nil written all over it,their goalie had to Make a few saves but not really hard to keep out.
To be honest if you were a neutral fan, you'd have left or turned off by half time, just being honest,it wasn't pretty or exciting to watch, just workman like.

6.) 16 Sep 2018 13:52:51
Ff Osborn was no more than 15 yards out when he kicked one chance straight to the keeper, and when he sliced another chance it was not a awkward angle just left of the goal. Another game Osborn might put both away.

7.) 16 Sep 2018 23:44:21
I apologise I wasn't at the game but I'm pretty sure if you ask Osborn he would be disappointed not to have tucked away 1 of those 3 chances. A confident Grabban also takes his chance. Not to be but it will come.

8.) 17 Sep 2018 11:21:10
Osborn has been the best player in a poor side for the last 3 or 4 years - that doesn't mean he's a world beater though. Although the results aren't quite there yet, we have much better players now and Osborn, although solid and consistent, is limited in what he does - to say he barely puts a foot wrong is blinkered to say the least.

We have better players now and Carvalho is a class above - he just needs some time to adjust and other players to get on is wavelength. He should be one of the first names on the teamsheet in my opinion.

Having read the hysterical opinions on the team and manager I offer some balance and reality to life at the City Ground since EM's conditional deal to purchase the club in 2016.

We are proud of our history but burdened by our 2 stars which represents the benchmark for players and managers.

We had good times BC and very few AD. Therein lies the problem of over expectation for many fans in the stands?

Be in no doubt how close to we were to going under Fantasy Fawaz and his casino football. Purchased a club on the up under SOD. Replaced with a series of "trophy" managers until the cash ran out. Hired DF for the fire sale prior to bailing out. "The new investment sought" funded by EM to see the season out. An appointee manager PM, the sale of OB to fund the season. Last spin by FF to sell to the Yanks before EM called in the debt.

MW / FMcP appointed to save the season and the deal. Job done. Given a chance to rebuild summer 2017. The youth and up and coming buying strategy clearly out of step with other teams and heading us down. Appointment of AK with a proven track record of promotion was a measured appointment in a changing football market saved the season.

The new TV deal that followed blew Championship promotion budgets out of the water. Wolves set the money benchmark for recruitment. Cardiff the experienced organised team professional route to success. Fulham put a team together over 2 seasons with the same proven manager.

This is the current reality in a sea change in football finances and EM/ AK adjusting strategy to compete after failed inherited talent and initial transfer strategy.

So before condemning our current manager and recruitment consider the strategies and ingredients of the three promoted teams Budget. Experience and Time.

EM has provided the budget and exciting talent as Wolves. Invested in experience and team building as Cardiff. Appointed a proven manager in AK to blend the team with a mix of youth and experience as Fulham.

Yet despite the fact that EM/ AK's strategy combines all the ingredients of last seasons promoted teams a certain minority want to press the historic default fire button after only 6 league games. REALLY?

There has been a running commentary on selection tactics and the team's short comings and player turnover. In fact recruitment has reflected the position AK found the club in Jan 2018 and building again in the last window.

Jan 2018 signings urgently recruited quality experienced players to survive, notwithstanding some may not be first choice for a promotion challenge. Needs must at the time. Summer 2018 having given youth and existing players a chance rang further changes to build a stronger squad albeit not all targets were secured during the window.

In 6 league games weaknesses are highlighted in certain positions and balance of the squad. Yet the hysteria returns even though fans criticism are addressed with signings Hefele, Janko, Yacob, Tachtsidis, (Ansarifard/ Sako) . All upgrades on the departed.

Clear evidence that EM/ AK are determined to have a competitive squad over the season. There is no justification for certain fans not giving the manager the same courtesy and respect as Jokanovic in backing him over a season to get us into playoff contention even if like Fulham after finishing 18th it takes two seasons to get promoted!

This is the reality and evidence of where we are as a club and what it takes to get promoted. We now have all the ingredients to follow those promoted teams. A change of manager in the short term would be certain failure having only just got the plan in place.

By all means judge AK on his future results over a season. However, hanging him over what he has walked into, your 2star expectations and 6 games shaping his team is just plain stupid when the approach applied by the promoted teams is reflected in our squad and manager.

AK now has the tools and the track record to use them well so everyone needs to stop being so short sighted and back him to succeed over the season!

1.) 11 Sep 2018 11:34:31
That's what I call a severe case of krankiness.
Thought you said beware of Greeks bearing gifts??emm🤔🤔🤔

2.) 11 Sep 2018 11:40:59
Redinexile Aitor since joining us has been like a scene out of a film called Trading Places.

Once it was realised it was a disaster the orders were to : Buy, buy, buy, buy, come on buy, buy, and buy some more.

It is a scatter gun approach buy enough and hope the job gets done.
Only good results will give Aitor the time he needs.

3.) 11 Sep 2018 11:46:07
AndI thought war and peace took some getting through

4.) 11 Sep 2018 11:59:36
🙄😴😴😴 That was about exciting as watching forest under karanka red 😁

5.) 11 Sep 2018 12:08:13
That's your dinner break gone skeggs ? Bet you never got chance to read the paper?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

6.) 11 Sep 2018 12:16:19
Redinexile where do you get this ludicrous notion that fans are expecting another clough type era??most fans I speak to these days only expect more disappointment so I will ask you again do you get to many matches? because you seem out of touch to me

7.) 11 Sep 2018 12:17:26
Ff that post from red should of come with a government health warning😂😂😂😂🤯🤯🤯🤯

8.) 11 Sep 2018 12:18:44
Red I think you are Senor Karanaka is disguise.

9.) 11 Sep 2018 12:22:34
Found it a bit early for a bedtime story.🤩🤩🤩😭😭😭😭

10.) 11 Sep 2018 12:51:23
Redinexile oh and by the way i do not consider those 2 stars a burden I watched them won and was never more proud to be a forest fan ,and still am and don’t need someone like you telling me how to support my club, I believe you are totally out of touch with rank and file forest fans who in the main just want us to be competitive and decent to watch

11.) 11 Sep 2018 13:04:25
Bang on Stevie f.

12.) 11 Sep 2018 13:37:25
I have great memories before bc as Well 66 to 67 and Ian storey Moore running defences ragged for a few seasons,Duncan McKenzie after that, wearnt all bad.
After bc frank Clark and Stan collymore,Dave Bassett and van hoojdonk,so much better than anything I'm watching lately.
Just saying.

13.) 11 Sep 2018 13:56:01
79 reading reds post was like sitting in a traffic jam for 5 hours

14.) 11 Sep 2018 14:20:50
Ff779 that’s another thing that bugs me people carry on like forest didn’t exist before Brian we were a fixture in the top flight TIL relegated in 72 as you know nearly winning the double in 67 ,so our so called sense of top flight entitlement doesn’t just come from the clough era ,

15.) 11 Sep 2018 14:15:58
2 Star expectations from a 1 Star that must of been a waste of an hour of your life writing that yawn boring post😂😂😂😂😂

16.) 11 Sep 2018 14:21:34
Well that flushed out the vocal minority!

The bottom line is based on the actual sequence of events which you all choose to ignore you are wanting to sack a manager based on 6 league games!

28,000 fans seem to think the football is competitive and decent to watch this season, so what is the problem after only 6 games? Are these fans out of touch?

Whether Karanka turns out to be good or bad for Forest in implementing the recruitment plan we will never get anywhere above mid table sacking manager during the season.

So please chill, sit back and enjoy the excellent value of your £18/20 season seats and let AK get on with the job in hand. At least if you do not like one player we actually have a couple in each position that might suit you all? 😂😂😂

17.) 11 Sep 2018 14:34:07
I was bought up the forest way to play attacking entertaining football and win or lose as long as I saw the effort put in by the players and management then I was happy.
I'd just be happy now to have a manager that went out and took the game to the opposition instead of worrying about the opposition.
Hated it when megson was here and we now have all the hallmarks of a repeat, unless he changes his ways.

18.) 11 Sep 2018 15:03:52
The problem is red we and every other forest fan can see and like the right players and the man who gets paid to pick the players hasn't got a clue and now he's signed 3 more players to replace who lol he doesn't know is best 11 maybe another 30 signings and 10 years in charge he might work it out and I might win the jackpot on the euros get rid 🚖

19.) 11 Sep 2018 15:05:35
Redinexile Just because We that make up that 28,000 go to the games it does not mean we think the team is competitive and decent to watch.

It means we are PROUD NOTTINGHAM FOREST FANS and can afford the travel money as well as the cost of the TICKET / SEASON CARD.

People want Aitor to find his best 11 and play them, if he will not do that then he must go.

20.) 11 Sep 2018 15:36:20
nothing will suit this little lot red and have you noticed its the same lot that start having a go as soon as a positive post gets put up. just scroll back up it stands out a mile. ( all giving themselves a little thumbs up ).

21.) 11 Sep 2018 15:37:08
There is no 28k.
Even when the crowd is given as 27k there are empty seats everywhere.
That's because of cheap cards to young ones and kids that hardly go.
Got an empty seat next to me and when I enquired about it for a friend they say it's sold, but no one has sat in so far this season.
We have a fan base of around 20k.

22.) 11 Sep 2018 15:53:45
ff799 he s read your posts on here and gone and sat next to victor meldrew instead

23.) 11 Sep 2018 16:04:15
Nothing positive about reds post pork chop.
More like riddles and bs.

24.) 11 Sep 2018 16:11:38
Why is Victor in exile as well?🤔

25.) 11 Sep 2018 16:39:38
ye ff799 first brentford got rid then rangers got rid and finally us.

26.) 11 Sep 2018 16:46:32
Chopsy never in 1 post have I asked for this manager to be sacked I want him to succeed I’ a forest fan for god sake , but redinexile posts take happy clapping to a whole new level, plus he insults the intelligence of some on here who travel all over the country to watch them when i’m not sure he does

27.) 11 Sep 2018 17:38:09
Good old warbo chopsy statistics at forest show he was a lot better manager than krankie with a lot less money lol 😂 🚖

28.) 11 Sep 2018 18:10:03
skegjay he got brentford in the top six but they got rid ( stats ) ??????. he got rangers promoted and they got rid of him and even the fans didn't want him and you can't get a much bigger fan base than that in the uk ( stats ) ??????. and now he s trying to mend his mates telly i don't expect you to have the stats for that but have ya got a manual for a matsui

29.) 11 Sep 2018 18:51:21
Redinexile i've been going to forest all my life through thick and thin prices of tickets don’t matter I still go , do you?

30.) 12 Sep 2018 00:01:31
The purpose of my post was to get you to look at the bigger picture instead of a match by match basis as football success is delivered over 46 games. Clearly very few of you can remember such a season under one manager?

Heyho carry on chaps as your Shepherd will round up the lost sheep into the reality pen!

Stevie Yes I do watch my team more away than home due to geography and also other teams. This gives a much better perspective of our standing in the League and why I am bemused by those who just do not see the bigger picture of where we are going as a club!

AK may not be the long term answer but really guys you do need to stop chopping managers off at the knees before they get their feet under the table?

Onward and Upward

So are you claiming 8000 followers for your Foremoaning Group based on your maths?
There is a reason the seat next to you is empty? You have frightened off the lady that purchased it! 😲
The good news is that the seat will remain empty as a statement to equality and diversity and a reminder to be more open minded and embracing of your fellow fans. 🤢 😍

02 Sep 2018 11:12:33
Shock horror Forest lost! Nice to see there are more balanced comments in response to the hanging mob.

Cheer up Foremoaners at least you weren't watching the mighty Villa?

Keep calm and carry on!

Need to get Mr Janko on the pitch instead of Darikwa and take Mr Ff799 advice on the Watson/ Colback combo after all he knows best?

1.) 02 Sep 2018 11:32:04
Like I've said red the quicker we part company with karanka the better for nffc.
A change of direction is required and Watson and colback would not get in any other championship side as a pairing.
Their job is to protect the back four, well that's not working, goals conceded every game.
They offer nothing going forward and yesterday only lolley Murphy and Dias on the pitch capable of scoring a goal.
You can't win matches like that.
You told us he'd play three at the back and was versatile in picking formations?
29 games on and not seen a sign of it.
You keep your fingers crossed for your buddie he's not got long if he carries on down the road he's chosen.

2.) 02 Sep 2018 11:43:15
At start of season don't think many of us thought geddy would be starting but he's looked great in games he's played and is now injured for at least another few weeks.
Playing Watson who's too slow and colback together is stupid we don't need 2 defensive midfielders when we are playin a back 4. We definitely missing geddy. I wished we'd signed Clayton who we was linked to.
Pre season we played 3 at back. Surely this needs to be looked at again. With 2 upfront for next few games I think we need to try this
Steel in net pants as been making mistakes
Back 3 hefele Dawson fox
Janko. Colback Lolley
Cash Osbourne
Grabbon. Murphy

3.) 02 Sep 2018 12:03:56
Redinexile couldn’t care less about villa, I am not calling for the manager to go but the unbeaten run you keep banging on about doesn’t look quite so good 4 draws and a defeat now , something is not working, we have been outplayed by Brentford, wigan,Birmingham and bury, this is not a matter of gelling because our league performances are getting progressively worse, and Ak needs to have a rethink and fast before this season becomes yet another right off, blind faith in 1 system will get us nowhere,

4.) 02 Sep 2018 12:20:49
Red you really are besotted with karanka.
Who cares about villa.
Unbeaten with 4 draws isn't progress.
You really need to realise we are not going anywhere with Manuel.

5.) 02 Sep 2018 13:02:43
Last 3 games,2 shocking,1 good.It doesn't take Hercule Poirot to work out what was different in team selection.Thats was worries me.Most can see it why can't Aitor? I'm still with the manager ( for now anyway) but I'm no Pep Guardiola but I could see after half an hour against Birmingham what the problem was.

26 Aug 2018 02:50:18
After a thoroughly intriguing game of football I see the usual suspects are sharpening their knives for AK despite 6 games unbeaten. Unbelievable!

Well played Birmingham for coming up with a game plan to stop Forest playing and isolating our forwards. Good teams grind out results and there were 2 on show today. It's a very competitive league.

Forest played their best full backs and we did not concede from corners or free kicks. Result.

Watson had a mare and gifted the first with a poor pass and believe it or not teams do score from open play! That's Championship Life.

6 team changes showing our strength in depth (and on balance the fans choice), 3 substitutions and a change in tactics. Result.

What did we learn? The Foremoaner's will bleat no improvement from seasons past. Wrong!

Remember this match as today you saw a squad of players play for 95 minutes with belief in their ability and in the manager to not lose the game. Progress from seasons past at 0-2 down with 15 mins to play!

Inspired substitutions that changed the game. Carvalho showed how to play through the lines. Lolley popped one in for the Villa and Murphy the carthorse no one rates showed what a class act he his is taking his only chance in the game.
Special mention to Colback who showed he could close all the gaps playing as the only DM. Changing tactics from AK? Well I never! Time for more humble pie Foremoaners?

The Championship is about fine margins and most of the competitive games get settled in the closing stages which is why AK sets his teams up to defend first and finish strongly. Winning Mentality!

So Foremoaner's please step out of your fantasy FIFA total football world bubble and accept that to get promotion it will not always be pretty but we have a squad building momentum which will improve and be in contention come May. Result!

Onward and Upward.

1.) 26 Aug 2018 07:24:48
Red by the sound of it you wasnt at the game not the one i saw anyway utter and total dross 100%🙈🙈

2.) 26 Aug 2018 07:36:33
I think your protestations will fall on deaf ears red. It’s difficult to see positives when the facts seem to say that AK has spent a bomb and improved very little. We are going no where at the minute and it’s very disappointing for us fans.

The way I see things is that the clubs Heirachy have done their bit, the fans have done their bit (big time) the element letting team forest down at the moment is, I’m afraid , Aitor Karanka. His signings a carp as they don’t fit with the tactics , he is opting for giving opportunities to Portuguese potential rather than our home grown Young players. I’m not in the Worrall and Brereton are world beaters club, but let’s be honest the youngsters from Portugal are no better than what we have and will be costing us a far far more than the lads from the academy who can’t get a sniff. Something odd is taking shape here. Tell me why would you ignore Yates, worrrall and Brereton and leave cash out (only to be proved wrong) and not play Osborn in midfield? No way should carvalho, goncalves and Dias start instead of cash and Osborn. I can’t see how Grabban is better than Brereton either. The way I see things now is we’ve got to sell Brereton to fund Grabban - if so that’s a very poor Piece of business from the club.

3.) 26 Aug 2018 08:11:09
Could'nt agree more Redexile but would like to add that bringing on Osborn also added to the improvement especially playing him further upfield. He's got the energy needed late on in a game when others are flagging (particularly the opposition defence)
Hope on Wednesday AK leaves the full backs alone but let's Osborn take Geddy or Watsons place.

4.) 26 Aug 2018 08:15:58

5.) 26 Aug 2018 08:45:42
We can all say we’ve had a bad day at the office, from the off we didn’t look bothered or motivated, yes we are undefeated and it takes time to gel bla bla bla, we’ve signed a lot of players and still have the same problem as last season. The players need to take accountability for there performance,
Some honest questions need to be asked of some of the players, are they motivated by winning and challenging for promotion, because if we keep playing like that we will back on that merry go round.
I still remain positive as I do believe this is the best squad we’ve had in years, so Aitor needs to inject some belief into the players, it may well be the distraction of the transfers of some of the players that’s affecting there play,
But things need to change soon.

6.) 26 Aug 2018 09:06:42
Sorry mate total garbage. Second to every ball, out muscled, out fought and did not look like the home team. Krankie said he wanted a full pre season with most of his squad which he got so we could hit the ground running which just hasn't happened, now he's saying a few new signings could give everybody a boost, has just signed 13 of them how many does he need !!!. I hope it improves and changes but we have been here before in fact every season for a while now after a few games the same conversations start again. Football today is impatient, fans, owners playes alike the only difference is krankie spent 30 million this time. Is it Brentford up next away lose to the magpies in the cup then Brentford going to be squeaky bum time win them both it paints a different picture which is the fickle nature of football today.

7.) 26 Aug 2018 09:06:45
Redinexile don’t think I ‘be ever read a more deluded post

8.) 26 Aug 2018 09:12:38
totally agree with you 2star non of the Portuguese lads look strong enough , Carvalho probably looks ok but not £13 million , we are putting these players in front of our own youngsters , selling Brereton and probably Worrall is very disappointing as for Scorchio's team selection is woeful Collback and Watson meant we were playing 6 at the back ,he can't play a creative midfield player because without Geddy we haven't got one , we don't look like we've spent £20 million plus very well I'm all for the players settling in but when your spending that sort of money then you expect quality to shine through and don't forget they've had a full pre season so Scorchio's honeymoon period is over and we expect better a lot better

9.) 26 Aug 2018 09:21:21
I would say red there's also a lot of unusual suspects on the foremoaners list today sorry but are we supposed to say they played well oh yes the last 20 mins which I did give them credit for oh well onwards and upwards with Dougie Freedman oh sorry I mean ak 😁

10.) 26 Aug 2018 09:58:34
Redinexile, karanka got lucky that's all a great strike with his first touch from Lolley, changed the game other than that we created nothing, not one corner nor a single shot on goal.
I know you think the sun shines out of karankas backside, but try watching the game through your eyes, because it was awful.🤩🤩

11.) 26 Aug 2018 10:12:56
Your right about 6 games unbeaten but it's also just 1 win in 6,4 of which were at home. Compare our start to that of Leeds. I don't believe their squad is any better than ours but their manager has his team up and at em from the off and they're scoring goals for fun. With the exception of the West Brom game we've started like we're still half asleep. If you've seen so many positives from our opening games then you must have much lower expectations than most of us.

12.) 26 Aug 2018 10:39:08
Yesterday's performance leaves me lost for words, truely awful and embarrassing.A point at home to a struggling side isn't good enough.Positives - the 3 subs and a point.
Get well soon Pep

13.) 26 Aug 2018 11:27:17
Lolley's strike was not lucky he came on and took up a position as instructed that Brum had not planned for on a set piece and put the ball away.
Sometimes you have to give the opposition credit for doing a good job closing down in midfield and isolating strikers!

Not really interested in what Leeds are doing as they can only go one way as they get worked out and only have one way of playing.
Much prefer us to be on the slow burn as players get used to playing with each other and improve over the season instead of everyone writing players off after a few games.
I see Figs has gone from our best defender signing to rubbish in one game?
As I said in my post too many fantasy FIFA fans demanding instant gratification! It never works out like that in the Championship.

14.) 26 Aug 2018 11:45:22
Definitely missing pep as I said before to good for the championship great player hurry up back

15.) 26 Aug 2018 11:57:50
Figs cost us against Wigan as well red.
So karanka sent lolley on and said stand there as one of their defenders is going to head it out to you?
All you've got to do is smash it in?? Lol🤣🤣🤣🤣

16.) 26 Aug 2018 12:19:41
Redinexile how can players get use to each other when 4,5,and 6 changes are being made in games.

22 Aug 2018 20:11:29
Nice to see Cummings has found his Scottish Prem level in League 1. I hope he gets 30 goals and a £6m price tag.

As for Twinkle Toes McKay he looks set for another cameo appearance season Swanning about in Wales.

Good wheeling and dealing by AK and the upgrade in recruitment.

Onward and Upward.

1.) 22 Aug 2018 22:56:56
🙄of course he's been good at some recruitment lol look how much money he was given can't you come up with something good about what ak as done that we don't expect or know about like is the defence any better are the strikers scoring plenty of goals is the team getting better every week are the 13 million pound player looking like a good investment is the 6 million pound striker looking good at the minute is prize asseset is a 3 million bargain I give him that but he doesn't start him lol

2.) 22 Aug 2018 22:20:38
Said it from the start he’s league 1 at very best same as walker they have both found there not rubbishing them it’s just there not good enough for this level.

3.) 22 Aug 2018 23:48:13
You are rubbishing them though and they'll prove you wrong, they are still young and played in poor forest teams and were hardly given a chance.
Just a question for you who do think will be top scorer this season and approximately how many goals?

4.) 23 Aug 2018 06:52:35
When the likes of Marriott smash in thirty goals in league one is that his level then? Most on here were desperate to sign him. If Cummings does get a hat full, what then? Still crap? You would think someone scoring for fun in a lower league should elevate them to the next one. Wouldn’t you ?

5.) 23 Aug 2018 08:28:25
Marley Watkins has come good from lower leagues and vardy hasn't done too bad since he left Fleetwood?

21 Aug 2018 21:57:28
Matt Mills to Pune FC in the Indian League after 4 appearances taking Barnsley down.

I'm sure he is a nice bloke but he was a failing centre half when Freedman signed him and typical of the recruitment under Fantasy Fawaz.

So before having a pop at the current regime despite the unbeaten start just remember what AK inherited and in Matt Mills this sums up the lack of quality and true level of where we have been?

Onward and Upward!

1.) 22 Aug 2018 01:39:26
All well and good red but this only serves to highlight the great job other managers did with really poor tools. Let’s just hope Aitor has brought Makita with the money has been given. When you look at the rubbish others have had to deal with it’s understandable why great expectations sit with him.

2.) 22 Aug 2018 07:22:12
Yeah mills was useless good job AK has solved the problem of us conceding from high balls into the box,!!

3.) 22 Aug 2018 08:20:46
Other makes of power tools are available 😄😄

4.) 22 Aug 2018 13:41:10
This is the point I was making yesterday red. Some fans seem to be under the impression we'd be smashing teams 4-0 each week, and now be sat at the top of the table! Our squad was pretty poor before the summer recruitment, it now has a better calibre of player. The key phrase was we are having a go at promotion, not guarantee we'd get it. 4 points off the top is not bad, and staying in the mix will no doubt please most fans.

5.) 22 Aug 2018 14:42:57
Murdoch what the fans will put up with is irrelevant, because in my opinion the only thing that will satisfy the owner is minimum top 6 anything else and I got a feeling AK will be looking for a new club to manage as I said just my opinion

6.) 22 Aug 2018 14:43:50
At least our centre half is not giving away 2 goals every game!
Patience dear boy patience while AK blends in the defenders and maintains team spirit. Darikwa, Fox and Osborn will be eased out for Byram The Hef and Robinson once they are all up to pace.

7.) 22 Aug 2018 15:08:29
Red in ex I agree mills was an accident waiting to happen mate just wish Dawson was starting at the moment, not sure if he got a knock 1st or 2nd game though

8.) 22 Aug 2018 18:08:27
Some folk have just got carried away and over excited Murdoch. How dare little old Wigan and Bristol City try to beat us at home in front of their own fans.Do they not know who we are and how much we've spent 😂

9.) 22 Aug 2018 18:37:30
Love the post Perks13.

10.) 22 Aug 2018 19:40:04
Only person to call city and Wigan little on here is you in your post, who we are is an established championship club of long standing nowadays 1 or 2 just pointing out for all the money spent at the moment the same problems in defence and attack still in evidence

11.) 22 Aug 2018 19:24:03
Murdoch, I for one never forseen any of our games under ak as 3 nil wins let alone anything above that he's a defensive manager that wins his games by the odd goal the formation he plays like others that play that formation is called the boring formation but if you play it well like we did at wba it can be exciting football 😁 he just needs to get it right with the right players

Stats demonstrate what a loyal fanbase we have but also show where we have been as a club.
Over expectation must be tempered by patience and full backing for the team and manager for steady progress over the season.

Despite the slow start there is a steely determination in the performances that has been missing for many a year. The depth of squad should enable this to be maintained over 46 games so keep the faith.

Quite a pathetic interview as he answered his own question. He had signed a 4 year contract which he clearly admits he was lucky to have been offered and has hardly given value for money.

What did expect AK to say to him when he needs him out the door and off the payroll. Like most of those bombed out they have found their true value and level in lower leagues!

Liked his aggression but his end product was pretty poor.
