Martin Glenn Chief Exec of the FA giving evidence to the Sports Governance Inquiry seems to be a dead man walking?

The football worm is a turning!

1.) 19 Oct 2017 10:39:46
Let's hope they all get the boot.
Nice to see big Sam sticking the knife in as well.
About time the FA had something to answer for.

13 Oct 2017 22:51:24
3 points on Sunday will put us only 6 points off an automatic promotion spot.

Just goes to show despite recent doom and gloom if we can sort out the defence we are contenders?

1.) 14 Oct 2017 07:19:50
Would sorting the defence out compromise our attack tho?personally don’t think we have the defensive personnel for him to sort it out,he should of sorted this pre seasonqhen he knew the defence wasn’t good enough.

2.) 14 Oct 2017 07:27:58
If we don't get anything we could be 6 points off the bottom 3. It just shows what a close run competitive league this is.

3.) 14 Oct 2017 12:13:01
Let's stick to cup half full?

4.) 15 Oct 2017 14:46:00
And no points will put us 5 points about relegation zone

5.) 15 Oct 2017 15:10:26
Why hasn’t warbo played lichaj?im seriously doubting warbo decision making.the game went flat when he made his subs.poor management in my eyes.

6.) 15 Oct 2017 15:16:45
It's same old story all the possession no end product and can't defend as a team it's no good having all the ball unfortunately it doesn't get you points

06 Oct 2017 16:26:07
Are Charlie Adam or Steve Sidwell good loan targets in January to beef up our lightweight and injury prone midfield?

1.) 07 Oct 2017 06:15:55
No they're not.

2.) 07 Oct 2017 08:24:04
Good loan signings that will cost the club 100 grand a week in wages for 2 players who let's be honest ain't any better than Vaughan and bridcutt

3.) 07 Oct 2017 09:28:15
Dont need loans. Develop our own please.

21 Sep 2017 00:13:06
The reality check for everyone should haves kicked after tonight. We are miles off from walking the walk in the Championship despite teams being a little more forgiving in front of goal.

Our current game plan has been exposed big time again and now we are on course for the bottom third of the league finish.

MW is a bright bloke and should now know who in his squad are going to keep him in a job and so he now needs adapt the system to reflect individual capabilities rather than wed himself to an admirable ethos of play which the current squad are incapable of delivering.

He has given his newbies and youngsters a chance and they are learning the hard way. Time now pick the best square and round pegs for the right holes just like OBE did irrespective of transfer fee or potential.

Time also to set up and start being hard to beat first and then get the best out the creatives in the final third.

The rollercoaster continues. In MW we must trust to make the changes to get it right?

1.) 21 Sep 2017 05:26:23
Warbo is not that bright. Time and again he tries to get average players to play his way and not a better way. We have not replaced lansbury not replaced britt. Clueless in defence. We pressure our selves with idiotic playing it out frkm the back with players not comfortable in posession. Velios behind the likes of walker???? Hobbs will be dropped again and never gets a run. Nope warbo talks gobbldy gook. Still no vocal skipper, mancienne tonight who is mouse like. He will lose ths dressing room if he has not done so already. We have not got the agression and drive on the pitch!!!!!

2.) 21 Sep 2017 07:26:03
Rangers fan here guys. MW and DW are out of their depth. They done well with Rangers in the Scottish Championship but were soon found out in the Premier League. If they can't master that then they have no chance in the English Championship which of course if a far better standard. For DW being a center half, i am bemused at how unorganized the defenses at both clubs have been. MW knows plan A. if it doesn't work he will say 'we will look at it, analyse it and try plan A again' Absolutely clueless and doesn't do change. McKay is a really good player with massive potential and should do well, Cummings is also a very good player (disappointed he didn't come to Rangers) so they have brought in two good talents however i fear the results will continue to be poor.

3.) 21 Sep 2017 11:00:22
MW always says his team will be well prepared in every press conference. Well Mr Warburton you are becoming a very predictable man on and off the pitch. Earn your pay and sort it out quickly because much more of this and you will not be in a job.

4.) 21 Sep 2017 11:04:57
MW also needs to stop with the 3 at the back crap it just doesn't work ffs. Joe warrall making loads of costly mistakes again last night. Henderson didn't look one but interested :-/ we need to play a solid 442.

5.) 21 Sep 2017 14:01:03
We don't trust in suicide, play it in you own area football?
So no, I'm sorry? I don't trust in MW

If that's what He's bringing. Especially to this of all leagues then he only has himself to blame.

He's displaying a total lack of awareness. That'll get a manager sacked at the golden arches.

A 5-year-old could do better and watching it makes my eyes bleed.

6.) 21 Sep 2017 14:35:30
No22 I agree. MW is making a noose for his own neck. The owners are not going to allow him to re-run last season results and will act before the fans turn on him if he does not wake up and smell the coffee?

The last thing we really need is another manager change. However, given progress on and off the pitch since last year Forest would be fishing a bigger manager pool than before if someone decides to get trigger happy?

7.) 22 Sep 2017 07:01:41
I don't need a reality check, Nffc are a mid table Championship club and I accept that, it would just be nice to see some common sense applied when selecting 11 players.

8.) 22 Sep 2017 12:52:48
Exactly that Longeatonred, this is his downfall
We have decent wingers but he plays BB on the wing?
We have goals in Vellios but he doesn't make the bench?
We play one up front then Change it when time is running out like against Wolves?

Don't get me wrong MW has brought in some quality players but he doesn't know how to use them

We create chances then drift a ball into a box with 5 or 6 defenders and Murphy?

I would rather play two strikers and attack the opposition rather than kill ourselves trying to grab a goal on the break

9.) 22 Sep 2017 13:30:38
Spot on redog

10.) 22 Sep 2017 19:25:08
OMG 8 league games in, won 4, lost to the Premier Leagiue champions in the League Cup, absolute disaster. I guess I'd better cut up my season card now as it's clear we will end up in League 2 soon. Get a life and a sense of proportion you lot.

11.) 22 Sep 2017 19:51:27
Top man some want it all, they must have been listening to queen.
I want all,I want it all and I want it now.
Nice to hear someone talking sense.

12.) 24 Sep 2017 05:58:44
mw is making forest a laughing stock with is tac xmas forest will be down at the bottom.

13.) 24 Sep 2017 12:41:26
Usual 'end of the world' comments after a loss. Good for you Diamond Geezer, that is putting it straight.

14.) 24 Sep 2017 14:53:04
I'm not sure mw is making us a laughing stock we seem to do that ourselves it's very early days yet

31 Aug 2017 16:21:44
Jordan Mutch in the frame. A proper big strong centre midfield enforcer to protect our little creatives!

Just the type we are missing?

1.) 31 Aug 2017 16:31:34
Another midfielder

2.) 31 Aug 2017 16:44:44
We do need a combative midfielder with the ability to pick a pass. So many positions so little time, next summer then MW might have the players he wants.

3.) 31 Aug 2017 17:32:05
Leaving Palace to a Championship club today according to Sky.

4.) 31 Aug 2017 17:35:59
Just my opinion but I'd rather have another midfielder in Vaughan's mould. We really missed him in the Leeds game. Someone who can create from deep and dictate the tempo.

We've already brought Bridcutt in to play the combative role and also Bouchalakis to play box-to-box.

Regarding a lot of comments on here calling for us to sign a CB - I really don't feel personnel is the issue. I have a hunch that our apparent fragility at the back is down to the way we're set up to defend rather than "Matt Mills being terrible".

5.) 31 Aug 2017 17:39:10
Think Bridcutt and Bouchalakis are comparative midfielders who can pick a pass really. .

6.) 31 Aug 2017 17:41:43
Bristol city and Burton are leading the hunt for Mutch, it is only a loan, we want a permanent CB 😠

7.) 31 Aug 2017 17:42:04
Much as he is a decent player, he is no 'enforcer'. made his name raiding down the wings and breaking forward from midfield. not exactly injury free either. As a wing back maybe.

Only saw the highlights and comments but it is evident that we do not have enough characters in the squad to change things when needed.

Lichaj and Vaughan are key to us taking the game by the scruff of the neck. However we should not need half time to up the tempo as this should be instilled from the kick off.

I get why Mills has been in as a vocal character. Unfortunately he needs to put all his energy into his own game just to stay on the pitch!

Fox is a better experienced defender but we do really need another leader in midfield to get them sparking early?

Warbo now needs to find space for Vellios and his guile to get a run going and allow the newbies to come in as impact subs?

1.) 21 Oct 2017 21:06:28
First half was poor red ,but very windy.
Second half we went at em and played well, two good goals and clean sheet.
Onwards and upwards

2.) 21 Oct 2017 21:48:05
Thanks FF79

3.) 21 Oct 2017 21:59:07
Your welcome red.
enjoy a walk across the moors with the dogs tomorrow mate and a nice glass of red to celebrate our win🍷🍷

4.) 21 Oct 2017 22:01:29
Very that just when forest had the ball?why mention the wind when we play it on the floor?

5.) 21 Oct 2017 22:24:32
Not just the ball the wind affects
Ever tried running against it?

6.) 22 Oct 2017 05:16:04
Ignore him SuttonRed85 he just likes to argue with people's comments lol pretry sure there's a difference in running against the wind in the open than there is in a football stadium pmsl 😆😆😆😆

21 Oct 2017 09:08:22
You need to see the video of the Red Star Belgrade tunnel on the Arsenal matchday. Awesome! Should get the same atmoshere at the City Ground and scare the oppostion to deathto avoid conceding early goals?

1.) 21 Oct 2017 20:27:28
They said just play this on the screens and tanoy - Stuart Pearce walks out first time as Forest manager

17 Oct 2017 21:25:11
We are where we are but find some irony in our current position and failings.

We have a top draw centre forward who craves power and pace to either play off him or out wide to solve our cutting edge problem.

We are now being linked with Scotlands next best thing out wide who is an under 21 international and looks about 9 stone wet through.

Just over 12 months ago we had Scotlands next best thing out wide but with the power and pace that would be the perfect foil for Murphy but we sold him?

Today Ollie Burke is bench warming down the road and Warbo is trying to spend £500k on another powder puff wonder who will just get blown away in our team.

Sooner have Ollie back on loan in Jan than sign another tippy tappy
diddy clone and then give Ariyibi a go next summer?

Please Warbo strapping big pacey midfielders only need apply to balance this squad if you want to still be part of the journey next year?

1.) 17 Oct 2017 21:43:04
REI: the problem for years has always remained the same and MW is making no difference 1.A proven proper leader on the pitch who knows what he is doing and can inspire the rest of the team 2. A strong midfield defender who can also create 3. A rock solid defence with pace and good passing ability. QED

2.) 17 Oct 2017 21:45:00
Paper talk anyway take no notice, think back to how many rangers players we were linked with?
Majority of players we get linked with never happens.

3.) 17 Oct 2017 22:09:29
Bsered every manager in every league is looking for that,it's the perfect senario, but cannot be that easy to achieve, hence the turnover in managers .

4.) 18 Oct 2017 05:22:09
Red a fine post.
God knows why he turns to scotland surely the scouts look farther afield than the Scottish borders.
We could do with strong players who aren't afraid to get physical and bully the opposition.

5.) 18 Oct 2017 05:26:03
To achieve getting back into the premiership which we should do were forest we need a owner that is going to throw money at us we need a owner that will listen to the fans and get a new manager every 6 months if he's lucky if things ain't going our way and it doesn't look like there going to make play offs remind you of anyone lol mid table and build patience please we are still rebuilding this club from top to bottom and think we have the right people in charge to do it

6.) 18 Oct 2017 14:17:15
What right have forest got other than history to be in the Premiership skeg?
We haven't been anywhere near topflight for years.
We barely survived last season skeg and your post suggests we have a right to be there?

We as a club have a fantastic history and yet we relish on it.
Hard work and perseverance only gets teams to the Premiership.
We can't live on past glory.
So in essence regardless of a clubs heritage and history this doesn't give any club any rights to be in a top flight league.....just being realistic skeg.

16 Oct 2017 17:21:13
I can see and have faith with what Warbo is trying to do.

What is clear is that we do not have a squad that is good enough to deliver the game plan.

My biggest fear is that we now seem to be linked with more Scottish imports who quite frankly are not up to the rigours of the Championship week in week out. This weakeness is contributing to the mistakes of our youngsters learning on the job.

Strachan is no mug in highlighting the restricted Scottish talent pool so please Warbo get McP to go source some strapping big lads with pace who can pass a football to beef up the spine of the team?

We cannot keep perming the midfield lightweights that are Bridcutt Osborn Vaughan, Clough, McKay, Cummings, Dowell Cash all of whom lose more balls than they ever win and not exactly blessed with pace when they are in possession?

1.) 16 Oct 2017 17:46:49
Agreed. We aren't physical or nasty enough. Direby were there for the taking but beat us at a canter because we're far to easy to score against.
Every team that plays us must fancy scoring with the midfield and defence too easily breached. It's not great passing ripping us apart but just one runner allowed to carry the ball too far or one through ball that cuts through us like butter.
If we score first against Burton we could get a bagfull but if they have something to cling on to they are like a dog with a bone.
Big game for Warburton me thinks.

2.) 16 Oct 2017 19:34:58
How many teams have got promoted from this league playing tippy tappy possession football with one up top?

3.) 16 Oct 2017 20:44:59
Bournemouth Huddersfield Newcastle.

4.) 16 Oct 2017 22:08:06
Bout mouth played two up top just like Newcastle and hudders.they also didn’t play tippy tappy football in there own half they were direct in what they were doing.

5.) 16 Oct 2017 22:41:54
Who was Newcastle front two in every game?
Who was Huddersfields?

6.) 16 Oct 2017 22:56:53
Personally I’d play a 4-2-3-1 I think it offers balance, protection and guarantees chances.
Lichaj Mancienne Worral Traore
Bridcutt Boucalakis
Dowell (to cut in on that left) Clough Mckay
Subs: Henderson, Darikwa, Hobbs/Fox, Vaughan, Osborn, Cummings, Carayol.
For me that team with the addition of Vellios, Brereton and Cash would offer enough depth and quality to not only concede less goals but start scoring more goals. I know some people will disagree with this but that is what will work in my optnion. Boucalakis is key imo his a big lad that will put tackles in and contributes going forward while allowing Bridcutt to be the solid defensive minded CDM out of the two. I’d love to see Vellios get a go but I can’t see it unfortunately. Any way I’m looming forward to the rest of the season hopefully we can see a forest that starts performing to levels they should be

7.) 16 Oct 2017 23:02:11
I didn’t mean to put Clough at cam in my previous post I meant to put Osborn. For me Osborn plays his best at cam and influences the game much more. Clough is a good player but I jut don’t think MW fancies him in our system. Maybe if we played 4-4-2 with Clough playing off Vellios or Murphy we’d see the best of him but I doubt we’ll be playing that formation

07 Oct 2017 21:00:26
So much for the deadly rivalry and hatred between the Nottingham clubs?

A League 2 record attendance at Meadow Lane of 13267 today against Forest Green Rovers!

Either there is still a lot of love for both clubs by the good citizens of Nottingham or Forest have a load of fans who cannot read and thought we were away today?

COYP's and COYR's.

1.) 07 Oct 2017 21:26:50
Forest green supporters turned up in their droves, they heard pies and meat ones were on sale.😂😂😂

17 Oct 2017 09:39:22
We should have a self imposed transfer embargo on all things Scottish.

Martin O'Neil will not come back into club management for family reasons.

Warbo is staying as the three standout candidates who would do a better job are not available to Forest.

We need to get through the season to clear out those whose contracts expire next year with the exception of Lichaj.

We need to sign/loan a couple of strong pacey midfielders, pick the best 2 central defenders for Warbo and the team to survive the season.

Other than that we are going in the right direction of travel!

Gordon Strachan hit the nail on the head. The talent pool in Scotland is not physically strong enough.

If Forest keep signing these lighweights we will be playing League 1 football next season.

The reason is we have too many players that play the same way but none of them are good enough to hold down a place.

We are 6 very different players short of a full picnic!

We have to let nature run its course and allow Warbo to to shuffle the pack but his hands are tied until the summer when we can get rid of most of the players everyone moans about?

Keep the faith and trust we will stiffen the spine in January to keep us on the up and judge your manager on our squad and performance over 2018?

Well it seems from all the comments I made the best choice today walking on the sunny moors with my dog followed by a pub lunch?

We never seem to come out the blocks after an international break and we have too many midfielders who cannot contain a team and then break with pace?

Never get too excited either way over this fixture which is just 3 pointer out of 136 available over the season!

Onward and upward the manager is going nowhere but needs to shuffle the squad pack at Christmas.
