Welcome Sammy Ameobi

Time to realise your full potential at 27 so do not take us for granted.

Stay fit and rip up defences your size, pace and power is something we do not have in our squad so the stage is yours!

Hopefully this ends any nonsense of signing Burke, McClean or useless Scottish wingers?

Redinexile

1.) 24 Jun 2019 20:02:17
Well at least vellios has gone so an upgrade of some sorts.

2.) 24 Jun 2019 20:29:06
Red, I regularly refer to you as an idealist - there is nothing wrong with being one - this post is segwaying into down Right fantasy though .

3.) 24 Jun 2019 21:11:23
Redinexile that's the positive post that should be all over this site all the close season I hope he does great also, he has one year contract hope he plays unbelievable and proves nay Sayers wrong let's get more posts like redinexile forest forever

4.) 24 Jun 2019 21:15:52
Velios gone, so another dud released. Is Tachiditis still with us or not?

5.) 24 Jun 2019 21:19:55
We all live in hope, but it rarely gets you anywhere in football.
It's a no lose signing as it's one year and he can play all along the front line, but hardly likely to hold a place down in the team.

6.) 24 Jun 2019 21:30:06
We all live in hope 79 but you know football there’s been many a flop that’s turned into World beaters and World beaters tuned into flops
I remember a team long ago that became World beaters using cast offs old pros and misfits can’t recall their name
Let’s see what put together at the start of the season

7.) 24 Jun 2019 21:59:05
Times have changed though redfreddie and all you have to do is look at the top six sides in this country and guess what that's where they finished.
Get it all you can go the sheff utd way and sign seasoned pros and have a manager so passionate about that club that it works.
Problem is your not building anything for the future and will just get relegated probably with some expensive panic buys on big bucks to go with it.
Only wolves have gone about it the right way signing a few good players at a time and even then its took them three managers to

8.) 25 Jun 2019 08:45:12
I think we’re going about it the right way. A free signing on a one year contract? Brilliant. He’s a similar player to Antonio, when he was at Wednesday he didn’t capture the imagination but look what he did at Forest, and he’s still pretty good for West Ham. I can see no negatives in this signing.

9.) 25 Jun 2019 09:26:24
Antonio and sammy are two different things, laughable to compare him to sammy.

10.) 25 Jun 2019 13:46:55
What is laughable is you writing a guy off before he has pulled on the shirt.

MA 's record at Wednesday in a decent team was 12 in 64 and he is 2 years older.

SA 's record at Bolton a struggling team and club in crisis and withholding wages was 8 in 61 games !

As Floresta says they have similar attributes so the stage is set to to be our new Antonio if he gets the service .

We have no one similar who can be so direct and physical so signing him is a good punt!

11.) 25 Jun 2019 14:15:32
If a player is injury prone, nearing the end of his career, wants too long a contract, or wants silly wages i could understand the comments but when a player is in his twenties, has power, pace, and on just a one year deal with no fee it is worth a try.

12.) 25 Jun 2019 14:46:01
Thank you for putting my mind at rest red,so if we sell lolley no problem as we have sammy to take his place?
That's the more likely scenario.

13.) 25 Jun 2019 15:32:42
Never a negative word from 79 is there?

14.) 25 Jun 2019 16:04:51
Red dog if you think making the same mistakes of getting freebies is the right way then that's fair,I've said it before we just need four quality players to add to what we have and after two have gone another ten to go.
There is no point in signing players for the sake of it,if there was a que for ameobi a club would have offered a two or three year contract.
We need to improve the squad and get the deadwood out

15.) 25 Jun 2019 16:21:23
Give him a chance, just a couple of games at least.
You may be right and no one is trembling with excitement but MON feels he can add something so give him a chance, don't write him off after a day or two because you "dont think he will be any good"
Theres perhaps a limited budget and we may have transfer priorities in other positions so put the cover back on the panic button for a little longer 79

16.) 25 Jun 2019 17:28:30
Fff79, You say we need four quality player to add to what we have, yet you said earlier that we will not spend anything unless we sell Lolley, i take that to be because of ffp, so how do we manage to get four players of real quality without spending anything.

17.) 25 Jun 2019 18:15:44
They will be loans, the sheep did it last year.
Still think lolley will be gone before the season starts.
If we are looking at wingers who are out of contract I'd have preferred Adhoma

18.) 25 Jun 2019 18:52:46
You hate loans, and should we sell Lolley for £15m that would be only two players with real quality but losing Lolley means we would only gain one overall. That means unless the club are reckless and risk a all or nothing way of doing things they can not win then all or nothing could mess the club big time

19.) 25 Jun 2019 19:17:54
Yes I do and and I don't want lolley to go but he will if villa want him.
Just being honest andcant see any major investment unless we can get ten players off the books and that means
Smith
Steele
Dawson
Arybi
Grant
Bridcutt
Heffle
Murphy
Tech
Geddy
Watson
Cummings
Beneloun
Sell Osborn and raise a bit.
Whyever these players are here it will stifle us from signing players.
You can add even more it's just a squad that's too big already and needs a serious cull, then with all those wages gone a bit of quality instead of quantity.
I'm only saying loans because I can't see anything else with a squad that's so bloated already

20.) 25 Jun 2019 19:49:08
Fair do's

21.) 25 Jun 2019 22:18:48
Jeepers that list of dross is truly terrifying!

22.) 25 Jun 2019 22:42:36
Victor cheer up there are t least 8 players on that list who will be gone by the end of the window come what may plus others that we might wheel and deal ! FFP will not be an issue this year

Villa , Huddersfield , Derby to name but 3 did not do too bad on loan players in the Championship.

23.) 26 Jun 2019 05:56:15
You think 8 players will leave?
Your optimism makes me smile Tommy.

24.) 26 Jun 2019 11:08:19
Doesn't matter who we sign 79, you'll still moan the shit out of them and the rest of the team before the season kicks off as usual.

25.) 26 Jun 2019 12:59:38
Whatever gingerkid.
If you read properly you'll see that I've always been against just signing players in bulk,
Just think about it how many out of all the loans and cheap buys have actually been any good?
Only lolley
Colback
Robinson
Milosevic
Jacob
The rest have failed and some quite miserably, but if you are happy with that then that's ok with me.

26.) 26 Jun 2019 14:02:27
Your banter is turning you into Pike? "Stupid Boy"! Of course they will get shipped out as they will be getting no game time and despite their limitations they will want to play this season!

15 Jun 2019 12:11:52
West Ham definitely want Byram off the wage bill and it's clear we are playing hard ball to sign him.

Expect a loan deal paying his wages and a contract for the following season if he stays fit?

COYR's.

Redinexile

1.) 15 Jun 2019 12:38:15
We shouldn’t pay anything substantial for him. He’s a massive risk for us. It’s a big if - if he can last a season playing football.

2.) 16 Jun 2019 10:33:17
I think a loan for him is right. Excellent player when he's fit he just needs to prove his fitness before we commit to a long term contract.

3.) 16 Jun 2019 11:32:51
If he could prove his fitness he would be off the the Premier League.

4.) 16 Jun 2019 17:16:40
Yes. With us next season. You Reds!

5.) 16 Jun 2019 19:01:55
Thank you Getty. The only one that seems to have actually read my post!

6.) 17 Jun 2019 14:06:35
Redinexile where do you mention we will get into the Premier League, and once he proves his fitness and a bigger team wanted him, and they would if his fitness was proved makes you think he would stay.

08 Jun 2019 23:41:05
Given all the off pitch positivity I was expecting an early statement of intent with a new signing for the team!

I appreciate that we have to ship some out to balance the books but the early bird and all that?

I do hope Dourekas is up to the job and we are not reverting to Martha/ Fawaz mode where go through clearing all the decks, over negotiating with targets before being left with the crumbs?

MON will have given you his list so come on Mr Dourekas show us what you are made of?

Redinexile

1.) 09 Jun 2019 06:56:33
June 30th is the date players contracts end, in order to stay within the ffp rules we will bring in freebies, only once the decks have been cleared will we be able to send.

2.) 09 Jun 2019 11:40:10
LC 5 of our competitors have already done some transfer business this summer and Stoke have 3 of their ducks lined up already!

Having unloaded loans and out of contracts we are in a position to sign players now including pre-contract deals for those coming out of contract!

Just saying we need to be quick out the traps and put a marker down early to show our intent not leaving it to deadline day?

3.) 09 Jun 2019 17:53:28
Stoke still have parachute payments so can afford a bit more than most.
Hardly any championship club has done any business, players take a break on holiday and so do staff.
Nothing much will happen till July.

4.) 09 Jun 2019 19:15:45
It'll be like usual we'll be looking at players then panic buy some over aged sicknote whos bench warming till the end of season

06 Jun 2019 23:04:43
The back bedroom keyboard warriors and red tops are spinning the released list with their agents.

Our recruitment strategy should be very straightforward for the coming season.

We do not need to spend megabucks unless we can buy a top striker.

We do not need to sign anymore over 30's for experience from our erstwhile competitors . as they are all past their best and not hungry enough.

We should not be looking to Scotland as McGinn apart who was an estd Premier league player the rest take too long to develop and I cannot recall the last Scottish striker that came south and took a team up? League 1 is more competitive!

There are a number of mid 20's out of contract players that would add quality plus some lower English league up and comings.

We need some creativity in midfield so for me it's either a couple of quality loans or an inspired established foreign playmaker signing?

There are plenty of affordable keepers around to push The Big Man.

We now have a solid base to work from so MON needs to use his experience to pick out a few gems and Dourekas needs to prove he is up to the job in landing the right deals!

Redinexile

1.) 09 Jun 2019 09:51:39
MON/RK will already have set out definite targets. Very few if any of the journo suggestions will be even remotely considered. My guess is that most people will be surprised by the 3 or 4 signings we do make, but it will be part of the plan agreed with the owner. As we all have been saying, getting rid of the dead wood will be the most difficult task, so some luck will be needed there.

2.) 09 Jun 2019 12:32:40
I think you have that spot on bsered.

15 May 2019 17:56:46
Nice to see Vellios is looking forward to a return home in June.

Would not be surprised to see MON playing him pre season in a 2 up front formation?

He is not the answer as a lone striker but with better service in a 2 his goals per minutes on the pitch was not too shabby so who knows until he's given a go?

After all he is on the books for another year and unlikely to get a better move!

Redinexile

1.) 15 May 2019 19:04:34
He had a very good pre season one year then hardly got a sniff in the season proper, could history repeat itself.

2.) 15 May 2019 19:21:11
Trouble is he only scores about four a season and he's done that this season, hes just not a goalscorer and he doesn't hold the ball well either, but as it's the last year of his contract will probably be a world beater😁

3.) 15 May 2019 20:36:50
I don’t mind Vellios to be honest. Always tries hard and scores good goals albeit not many. He changed the game against Girona preseason last year. He could be the target man in a front 2 to replace Murphy’s ageing legs. Depends what Mr. O’Neill thinks of him.

4.) 15 May 2019 21:50:51
Bloody hell we still going on about velios if he's up front next season I will be very disappointed that will not be moving forward in any way

5.) 15 May 2019 22:27:24
Vellios is dead wood.

6.) 16 May 2019 11:45:22
I seem to remember him scoring 5 in 3 games from the bench pre season then not even considered in the squad from day one.
Other blankers were given the shirt and that was under warburton. He is better than murphy and grabban, both are crocked anyway, but in reality if he has only a year left then pay him off. I liked him but i doubt he will get a fair crack from the fans. I remember he scored a great goal with his first touch coming off the bench at Hull. .

7.) 16 May 2019 21:26:37
He isn't better than any striker at the club,he's basically awfull, preseason your in about?
Well the Portuguese lads looked world beaters ore season, look how that turned out, never judge anything in pre season games, its just a knock about.

8.) 17 May 2019 08:21:38
I give him a chance unlike some players he gives 100% and at least as a shot. but fans just like to jump on the band wagon of he's crap because others have said it no player will be good enough we could have Harry Kane up front fans would find a way of moaning as always

All you need to know about Lawrence Shankland and where he is currently rated in Scotland is the fact that Dundee United fancy they have a chance of signing him and both Celtic and Rangers have been stony silent as have Warburton and QPR!

Let's all move on and leave him to play at his level in the lower leagues?

Redinexile

1.) 26 Jun 2019 14:44:18
Talk about not giving a player a chance, Celtic and Rangers can afford players that have more the finished article compared to Dundee United.

Warburtons purview was build a young squad, at Qpr it could be go for experience.

Im not saying the lad we be brilliant but if he really improves how much will he cost in a couple of years, sometimes you have to take a gamble, we have spent heavily in the past now seem to have to be more careful.

That is yet another negative post from you and he has not even signed for anyone yet, let alone us yet during the season you did nothing but moan when someone's opinion differed from the positive.

2.) 26 Jun 2019 20:19:38
Red wow your going for a record of thumbs down leave that to me and 79 mate lol

3.) 26 Jun 2019 20:41:33
You know it makes sense.
My record is in the forties I believe, cant see red getting near that one skeggs

4.) 26 Jun 2019 23:35:48
Negativity is fan expectations so low that they are wishing us to sign a player that by there own admission is not got good enough for the top tier of Scottish football!

I thought we were shooting for promotion this season and need quality strikers to get there?

We have enough unpolished diamonds on our books without collecting another slow burner!

5.) 27 Jun 2019 09:04:42
Well Tommy in ameobi you have a fine player. In fact a diamond find you might say? .
With players like him expect champions league football in 3 years. Only on Player Manager that is!
Keep up the good work Tommy.

25 Jun 2019 22:55:03
Fantasy Fawazs' cup has runneth over with his protestation that it's his FA Cup but he will personally bring it home and back to the City Ground trophy cabinet from his mantle piece.

He seems to have got into a right Pickles over the missing cup but the old dog has turned it up in the bushes once again?

Three cheers for the old dog Pickles a hero once again recovering both the 1959 and 1966 missing cups!

COYR's.

Redinexile

1.) 26 Jun 2019 02:26:08
Just bringing back negativity from our previous owner, he is in the past forget about him.

2.) 26 Jun 2019 05:58:16
LC Tommy exile likes to linger on past memories unfortunately.
Looking forward is like another world for him.

3.) 26 Jun 2019 13:44:50
Only commenting on current news boys. Please keep up with the programme we have a missing piece in our trophy cabinet which found its way onto someone's mantle piece.!

4.) 26 Jun 2019 15:20:49
Why did he have to have another cup commissioned at the cost of £23,000?where was the previous cup replica?

5.) 26 Jun 2019 22:20:22
Think he got fed up of being a "MUG"

24 Jun 2019 11:34:38
Man City want Muric to be guaranteed first team football with heavy penalties if he does not play.

Message to Pep you can keep your rookie goalkeeper or let him go out on loan and prove himself on a level playing field!

Redinexile

1.) 24 Jun 2019 19:01:17
Where have seen or heard that RIE.

21 Jun 2019 22:57:35
In reflecting on what is hopefully the calm before the storm this window I seem to remember that for many seasons we were crying out for a holding midfielder and leader on the pitch and break up play?

We ended up with McKenna who highlighted the importance of the role albeit he was past his best.

In the last season or so we recruited an overload of similar types who have sorted out our defensive frailties but we are short of creatives.

Therefore building from the back the best guy on our books to protect the back line is Yacob. .

For me make him captain buy some full backs and attacking midfielders plus a class striker and job done?

Simples!

Redinexile

1.) 22 Jun 2019 09:16:01
Red. Yesterday you were saying that Colback is our answer. Now it's Yacob.
So you want to play two holding midfielders who lack pace?

2.) 22 Jun 2019 09:34:08
Good post Rie. Theoretically sounds good. The practicalities may prove a bit more complicated.

3.) 22 Jun 2019 18:23:55
Gazzi, I said Colback was one of the best midfielders in the Championship but he is not our player. Yacob is under contract and currently the best man for the job!

4.) 22 Jun 2019 20:37:50
Red. If Yacob gets pace around him. Agree. I still think we need much more mobility especially in midfield.

21 Jun 2019 15:22:44
Jason Cummings is looking forward to bringing back a smile?

Let me give him a tip on how to do it!

Carry on with that stupid joker routine in training in front of Keano. Take your kicking behind the changing rooms and then drag your fat lip onto the platform of Nottingham station for the first train to Edinburgh?

That will make 30k odd Forest fans very happy indeed?

Redinexile

1.) 21 Jun 2019 16:54:11
I think he's a better player and worth more than carvahalo the clown hopefully krankie will find a new team to waste money on buying him from us anyway hour to go and then tea and club enjoy your night i know i will be

2.) 21 Jun 2019 17:36:58
Seriously skegs there’s more to life than drinking.there is plenty of help out there to get you to stop.

3.) 21 Jun 2019 17:58:57
And pigs might fly sutton.

4.) 21 Jun 2019 18:22:08
Think Skegsy had one too many already if he thinks Cummings better Carvalho

5.) 21 Jun 2019 18:27:44
Guys, just arrived in Salou. and the wife never packed my Forest shirt?
I'll be on the next flight home. actually make that her. anyone know any good places to eat?

6.) 21 Jun 2019 19:26:48
Ha Ha, your a big boy now Rog, maybe pack your own bags lad:)

Have a good holiday fella.

7.) 21 Jun 2019 19:30:49
I think skeg is pulling your plonker Sutton!
Claiming he has a problem the odd aperitif is harsh. Nearly as harsh as you being a armchair fan.

8.) 21 Jun 2019 20:13:36
Cheers fbb loving the banter easier than fly fishing by j r Hartley and Sutton I enjoy a pint mate when I'm not working which doesn't give me a lot of time with 3 jobs mate and thanks for your concern lol

9.) 21 Jun 2019 20:17:44
The odd?ok Fawaz.i bet I can find 4 posts on the last 4 days where he’s mentioned it.lol.thought this was a banter page Fawaz?

10.) 21 Jun 2019 20:18:07
Sounds like you ain't getting any then rogie, you can only dress her up so many times
Have a great holiday pal.

11.) 21 Jun 2019 21:10:57
Gerrit down yer neck Skegg’s F*** em yoth!

12.) 21 Jun 2019 21:55:56
Lol 2 star I don't care what Sutton thinks mate he doesn't know me if he met me he probably think a lot better of me lol anyway take things with a pinch of salt it's a banter site don't worry mate I'm going to sink a few before work again in morning hope your having a few pal and hope you are to rogie in salou you lucky sod

13.) 21 Jun 2019 22:28:23
Nice one Skeg! Keep them all guessing on which stella you are talking about?

Bottom line is that there might be a better player in Jason Cummings than we have seen so far but he is so far behind the ones that are leaving that there is no way he is going to fire us to promotion.

I'm sure he'd love to stay in Nottingham but more for the crac than the football so I'll buy the ticket and put him on the train.

14.) 21 Jun 2019 22:29:53
"There trying to make go to rehab but I say no no no"

15.) 21 Jun 2019 22:48:08
Lol red I remember fans saying that about Billy sharp in 2012 remind me what he done this season and where he his now anyway not a big fan of Cummings but never say never we've all been wrong before and with all these signings coming in we might just need him lol

16.) 21 Jun 2019 23:09:15
I’m having a few Skegg! By the way mate I’ve got an season ticket this season . Idea is my kids rotate a friend each for home games . I can easily upgrade to an adult ticket if I choose too. Yours if you ever fancy getting over for a game pal. Upper clough back row , half way line - great seats to be fair. Just let me know mate !

17.) 21 Jun 2019 23:46:49
Billy Sharp did not smash up his namesake on the wall and had a good track record in both League 1 and the Championship.

Cummings has an attitude problem and cannot hack it in the EFL. The guy is a waster and our Care in the Community programme is rightly focussed on Children not Big Kids!

He needs sending on his bike not seeing out his contract?

I was thinking who MON might go for but most of his pear group have retired or his old pro's are in decent manager jobs.
It would be great if he gets some young up and coming quality coach in but if he reverts to type then expect him to pick up the phone to Gary Mills or Henrik Larsson?
