Despite the disappointment of not seeing Yacob keep his place I muust compliment our back four for again putting in a top drawer show v Stoke. We at long last seem to have a back line that is essential to any success in this league after years of been a soft touch, especially from set pieces. While on the subject of our defence, I have never been impressed by Darikwa, until yesterday, so please keep proving me wrong because the lad was superb. One final pat on the back, to my fellow fans at the City Ground, the twelth man was back and it sounded great. U REDS.

I agree about darikwa. Thought he was improving game on game. Dawson is getting their too.

22 May 2018 20:41:44
In a Paul Taylor article he suggested Forest are looking at major refurbishment of the City Ground or even a new stadium. Can anyone shed any light on this one.

Retford Red

1.) 22 May 2018 21:08:42
Just hope its not a "light in a shed??"😉😉
Bob hope and no hope of anyone on here knowing more😂😂😂

2.) 22 May 2018 21:13:30
He's probably struggling for factual information. He needs us to keep buying the NP after all.

13 May 2018 12:41:55
Carlo and Sutton make a good point over Evtimovs lack of opportunity at Forest. If memory serves me well he made one mistake v Wednesday in a game that he had otherwise done well in and that was him done, banished never to return. Think back how many mistakes Smith was making fairly regularly and it does seem tough on the lad to never be given another chance imo. Having said that Pants is by far the best option out of the current bunch and I hope AK can land him for next season.

Danny Fox as had an excellent season beside Figueiredo and was my choice for POY but we still need a big strong kick and head it centre half at the side of Fig if we are ever going to stop the set piece mayhem that as cost us dear all season. Why not push Foxy forward into the midfield anchor role were his lack of height would not matter as much and his good passing range could be a plus with his natural defensive instincts covering the back four. It could also save the club a lot of dosh, eg Colback. U REDS.

People say look how jl is now at Newcastle and say we should of kept him.maybe he’s grown into that player because of the Newcastle staff and more importantly playing with better players.the same will happen to Worrall he will go to a better club and the staff will bring him in better than what the forest staff will.jl looked shocking and times for it and at best average

12 May 2018 21:48:50
Carlo and Sutton make a very valid point about Evtimov. I have often thought the lad deserves a better chance to prove himself considering how long he as been at the club. If memory serves me he made one mistake against Sheffield Wednesday and gone, discarded to be forgotten. Smith made many mistakes but was never treat in the way that Evtimov as been. Really hope AK gives him that chance before sending on his way as I think he might surprise a lot of people. Pantillimon is still the pick of our current crop though. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 12 May 2018 22:30:59
Just shows how things are because Pantillimon has been guilty of some poor mistakes.

2.) 12 May 2018 22:49:03
Retford can't remember Smith making many mistakes and he kept us up last season v Ipswich. Hasn't done much wrong and suddenly he's 3rd choice.I feel sorry for him, very unlucky imo.Hopefully he 'll keep working and prove AK wrong. Must be a bit demotivatedthough but he's young and will bounce back.

3.) 12 May 2018 23:57:16
Let's forget about the young lads please karanka wants experience he's not got long to get forest up and the big risk of him taking this job if he doesn't his managerial career will be having one big set back

4.) 12 May 2018 23:59:43
And ain't that the truth Carlo.
They say never get beaten at your near post? And yet he does.
But he can hoof it and does.

5.) 13 May 2018 10:39:57
Not impressed with Kapino.

6.) 13 May 2018 17:42:37
Smith and Kapino just need experience. Both are sill young especially for keepers and though Kapino played regularly in Championship season for Olympiakos and has played for Greek national team and in Champions league he is in a new country and doesn’t speak much English yet but I think given time he could be decent, I feel he looked ok with crosses and shot stopping but his control of area lacked and communication but that may be a language issue which can improve. Karanka said he liked Smith but he needs more experience. I would like to see Kapino stay and be back up next season and Smith maybe go on loan to league one for a season.

7.) 13 May 2018 18:00:25
Hoofing is better than the poor distribution from Smith is it not?how many times did smith put us under pressure after poor passes out from the back?but I suppose that’s the way barca and city play isn’t it?

8.) 13 May 2018 20:02:14
Sutton we don't play that type of football under Karanka,so Smith's distribution wouldn't be a problem.
When your hoofing it to a young lad up fr0nt with an ageing midfield behind an 40 yards away, even if he wins it??
Guess what happens??
It comes straight back.🤔🤔

08 May 2018 13:06:50
Like many other Reds I will be waiting to hear Tuesdays decision on the players informed they have no future here under AK. Brutal honesty makes me think that figure will be high. We are not good enough and we have not been good enough for far to long so I hope AK will be ruthless and work towards a new squad and a new start by off loading those not up to it. They have had their chance. That said, it could as difficult if not more so to move some of these on because of the stupid contracts dished out by his predecessor. AK as one hell of a difficult task ahead because Marinakis will want the decks clearing of as much deadwood as possible before adding to an already top heavy squad as the manager aims for his twenty three player limit. Best of British there then boss. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 08 May 2018 16:21:16
I am sure he will be ruthless and one or two surprises in the out going department. He will stick with the youngsters who have been out on loan as he will need to have them to top up his 22/23 preferred size squad?

2.) 08 May 2018 22:28:14
If you remember rightly retford .
Warbo only signed
And dowell loan.
Only one was a given a contract too long for his age?
Murphy?on that we all agree.
The rest of the squad was inherited so you can't lay the blame squarely at warbo's door.

Karanka bought in ten only two good enough and that's figs and watson and the the occasional flash from Billy bunter
By playing Worrall we've attracted bids of 12 million, which is twice what he spent on players.

3.) 09 May 2018 05:48:22
Ff799, on your list that means Murphy given too long a contract, Darikwa will stay as will Bridcutt. The rest will be gone, and Warburton had longer than Karanka to access the squad before a transfer window came around.

All our managers have had different ideas so inherited players they do not want.

4.) 08 May 2018 11:45:33
What is it with people worshipping Warburton, he WAS garbage.

5.) 11 May 2018 15:16:33
Lolley isn’t good enough???? You mental!? Best Jan deal in years!!!!!! Think Colback was a solid signing in Jan from AK too! Only Dejagah and Fuentes who didn’t really perform out of AKs Jan signings though Tomlin and Geddy have been up and down but both played part in last 10 games especially Tomlin.
Out of Warbs signings only Dowell and maybe Darwinkwa were any good really. maybe Bridcutt. McKay did exactly what Rangers fans said and started brilliant and then nose dived horribly!

See a number of Reds fans have brought up the failure of Pantillimon to acknowledge our young mascots. I posted on this two or three weeks ago and it stood out for all the wrong reasons yesterday with no communication at all. Arrogant springs to mind, never mind boys, he won't be here much longer because if we want promotion we need to improve between the posts. Beyond me why a pro footballer cannot give young fans a couple of minutes of their precious time, probably not in their contract like all the thousands they pick up. U REDS.

02 Dec 2018 16:55:44
Lets hope that the speculation over AK is wrong because he is really starting to get on top of the task of getting us back to the prem. Have seen that the likes of Watford are lining up a bid of five million for Joe Lolley, can't stop laughing. what's that for, his boot laces. He is priceless to Forest, so please Mr M. don't for a second give the idea of selling him a second thought. Him and Lewis Grabban will play a huge part in getting us up after twenty long years. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 02 Dec 2018 17:13:52
What rumours ?

2.) 02 Dec 2018 17:58:41
I don’t believe the club wish to sell our best players, were a selling club because a lot of players decide they want to leave. We have had occasions where we’ve had to sell but on many occasions the player has pushed for the move . I know this won’t be a popular statement on but even in the clough days players felt they weren’t at a big club. How ‘big’ is perceived has always seemed odd to me if I’m honest. If you look at the premier league at most the clubs outside the top eight a premier league forest would not lose their players to them. It’s simply a money thing at the minute. If Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City, Man UTD come in then we’d struggle even in the premier. I personally never saw spurs and Arsenal as bigger than Forest when I was a kid in the 70’ and 80’s but maybe that was wishful thinking!

3.) 02 Dec 2018 18:43:54
Watched the Scottish League Cup Final. young Aberdeen LB Lowe looked pretty useful, kept Forrest quiet throughout.
Just say'n 🤔🤔🤔

4.) 02 Dec 2018 18:50:04
If it is a "personal matter" then it might just be that.

5.) 02 Dec 2018 20:12:53
Rogie apparently Worrall is a world beater up there, bang average in this Cummings and mckay.

6.) 02 Dec 2018 22:41:15
I don't want to lose any of our current 1st team squad , but if we let any go or AK l am out of here . Best squad for years , and manager shows how the club may be run . Loyal fans have put their money into the club followed them all over the place so hopefully players and club for once think about bigger and better things than themselves .

29 Nov 2018 16:21:55
Thriller at the Villa. Even that seems like a massive understatement. I have been supporting Forest for sixty years and cannot think of a game like it in all that time. Was at both European cup wins and all the league cup wins when we used to virtually own the damn thing. But do you know what, I so wish I had been at Villa Park last night because that game will be talked about for many, many years to come and to say I was actually there would have been special. Scoring five away and not to get the win is unreal. Joe Lolley must be the best player in the championship and also the bargain of the century. Grabbs is going to not score twenty this season, no, he is going to score thirty or close to it the way he is playing. Just think if a certain Chelsea player had not joined Villa on loan it would have been a very different story. So pleased also for Carvalho and Cash with two great goals. Will decline to comment on the defence on this occasion and just let that attacking performance sink in, wow. Now bring on the sheep. U REDS.

1.) 29 Nov 2018 18:08:56
The game that sticks in my mind was against cologne in the European cup and 2 nil down and ended three three at home never forget that game.
Had everything including a mud bath of a pitch.
Last night defo up there as a game always remembered.

2.) 29 Nov 2018 18:56:45
"I hope no one is stupid enough to write us off???"
Qué the lingering look.

3.) 30 Nov 2018 00:22:50
I like the idea of people writing us off rogie underdog status will do me but even if we win the league we won't get talked about as much as Leeds or maybe villa fawaz gave us a joke of a name marankis will change that for us

20 Nov 2018 11:36:44
Quite obvious why I mentioned Dawson as an example Sutton. He led the team out holding the mascots hand and making him feel special. Where Pants just ignores the other mascots and leaves them to their own devices, which casts the club in a very poor light. Remember these kids are the support of the future, they need to feel valued. A small action with a big meaning for the club going forward. It is something we have noticed all this season in the Trent End and it is clear for all to see.

Retford Red

1.) 20 Nov 2018 12:48:33
I’m not going against what it does for the kids just asking why you only mentioned Dawson.iv just watched one where the kid that’s with Dawson is 6paces behind Dawson and hasn’t turned round to hold his that same one Marty cash isn’t holding his mascots hand either.

2.) 20 Nov 2018 13:31:04
Matty cash before anyone starts.

3.) 20 Nov 2018 15:30:02
Marty Mcfly. Back to the future. Very apt as far as we are concerned.

4.) 20 Nov 2018 16:28:24
Marty Feldman. eyeballs all over the place.
He could watch a tennis match without moving his head.

5.) 20 Nov 2018 18:02:42
Best ambassador out of the players has got to be Danny Fox ,aways looks after kids on the pitch and first in line at hospital visits ,well done Danny?

6.) 21 Nov 2018 10:54:40
Should stop all this pre-match circus, plus bringing players kids onto the pitch and just concentrate on the football.

I'm all for making the players more accessible to the fans but this be organised outside match days so it is not a distraction and topic for singling out players for not acting like babysitters!

I doubt most kids could reach up to hold Pants hands walking onto the pitch !

Bah Humbug😜

7.) 21 Nov 2018 11:04:07
They could change it to old man coming on the pitch, you'd look great in your lucky red trousers and holding your hero pants hand.🤣🤣🤣

8.) 21 Nov 2018 12:43:19
He’s got a pair of lucky red period pants to match the trousers.

9.) 22 Nov 2018 10:33:47
No flies on me though!👌😘

19 Nov 2018 20:24:55
Noticed the debate about Pants and I feel there are better out there if promotion is to be taken seriously. One thing I would criticise him over is the way he ignores the young mascots pre match though. It is the kids big day and they and their paying parents deserve just a couple of minutes of his time, not walking away and leaving them to it as he does. Take a leaf out of Michael Dawsons book on this one Pants, these starstruck kids will always remember you well if you do. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 20 Nov 2018 08:07:54
Why can’t he take a leaf out of all the other players books on this one why mention just Dawson?

2.) 21 Nov 2018 02:55:55
Wouldn't blame the Mascot,I wouldn't feel safe in "Pants" hands either!!!

3.) 21 Nov 2018 07:13:13

Tomorrow, I would be tempted to go 4411 with Smith, Lichaj, Worrall, Fox, Pinnilos, Pereira, Mancienne, Cohen, Traore, Clough, Brereton. Subs McCormack, Osbourne, Cash, Caryol, Assambalonga, Mills, Evtimov. Pereira and Traore both named as fullbacks but I think both are good at getting forward but still have that defensive side when needed. Gboly Ariyibi would be my wild card pick as what I have seen of him he looks very good. And it could be Vaughan instead of either Cash or Caryol if you need to go for a stronger defensive squad.

If Forest loose at Brum I think Jack Lester will be put in charge as caretaker. I think he would do a good job and even land it full time. Would make sense as the queue for new manager won't be very long I fear. He knows and values the youngsters and would provide the team with shape and motivation.

So in Warburton you trust. Why don't I believe you. He is not fit to lace Dougie Freedmans bootlaces. The man who had no money to spend, could only bring in frees or loans but still kept us up. This man who you trust as already spent millions on players who are not up to it, fact.

Another Forest fan told me he had seen a report saying Villa had him on £52,000 a week. Even if we are only paying half of that it seems crazy to have him as a bench warmer with his record.
