Ansarifard could well get the nod v Villa because he was instrumental in the Hull win but don't spoil it with the silly dives Karim, you are in the mens league now. Hope you get the nod instead of dead legs. U REDS.

1.) 13 Mar 2019 09:21:39
He has to start instead of Murphy. Murphy simply doesn't have the goals in him to give us the promotion push we need, Ansarifard hasn't been given his chance yet.

2.) 14 Mar 2019 21:42:06
Well now he has and he just lost it almost bordering on a red card. We looked better in the last few minutes when Murphy was on!

09 Mar 2019 21:08:23
Probably the best debut I can remember at the City Ground, Pele was superb. Not Osborns biggest fan especially at full back but today he had his best game for a long time, so well done in marking Bowen so well. Made a case last week for Bonatini and Ansarifard to be given a chance so pleased to see MON put some legs up front instead of Murphy who is little more than a passenger who never scores and way past it now. Chuffed for Carvalho who came in from the cold in style to show some class, scoring a screamer and making the penalty. And whos the new goalkeeper, looks a lot like Pants but much better. All in all we are still in with a shout and Villa is vital but do able so go for it MON and U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 10 Mar 2019 04:27:40
Pants is a totally different keeper now there’s not shots an crosses coming in all the time these 2 centre backs have been amazing for us, didn’t we get Milosevic on a free? If so got to be the best signing in January out of whole league an maybe prem

2.) 10 Mar 2019 21:24:58
We need to keep the DOF he's come up with a few gems already

18 Dec 2018 22:01:50
Well done u reds. Even with my red tinted specs I thought we deserved three points. didn't realise Lucy Lampard was a belly aching little lamb. he ought to have been thanking the ref for not reducing the sheep to nine instead of the crowing. AK must sign Jack Colback for next season, he is a gem. Also Janko as every chance of making the right back spot his own if given a fair crack despite Darikwas improvement. U REDS.

Told something on Saturday at the Preston game that I would love to be true. The people who sit next to me in the Trent End had been told Forest would be making an announcement in May that plans for a new main stand would be made public. The plan is to construct the shell of the new stand around the old one to get maximum use before it is demolished and the inner construction starts. Sounds a bit futuristic but Marinakis is just the man to go for such a plan. We can but dream. If it did happen we would have a super stadium to be proud of and a greatly increased capacity. U REDS.

1.) 14 Dec 2018 06:37:48
I think that all depends on what league were playing in next season.

2.) 14 Dec 2018 08:39:27
Final stages of planning to sort. irrespective of league. long term vision.

3.) 14 Dec 2018 08:54:28
I was told a similar thing by someone that works at the club a few months ago, didn't know whether to believe it or not but seems like its actually happening regardless of the league we are in.

4.) 14 Dec 2018 13:12:41
As long as we stay at our iconic stadium i am all for it. Is their a better sight in football when walking over trent brudge when the ground comes into view????

5.) 14 Dec 2018 18:55:57
Not sure about the stadium being iconic but the location certainly is. If this happens they will need to do some land / highway deals to improve safe access to the ground and enlarge the back of house areas to the other stands if we stay.

The proposed new bridge crossing at Holme Pierrepont could free up the road traffic around the ground.

Onward & Upward

6.) 15 Dec 2018 20:45:28
Red you should try rush hour anywhere around Notts, built loads of roads still gridlocked,M1,A 50 junc 24 A the pathway to Nottingham, still a joke and cost millions, there's knowhere with easy access to and from Notts if we were to build a new ground,Clifton the only option, but always has accidents and the airport

11 Nov 2018 20:04:56
Despite the disappointment of not seeing Yacob keep his place I muust compliment our back four for again putting in a top drawer show v Stoke. We at long last seem to have a back line that is essential to any success in this league after years of been a soft touch, especially from set pieces. While on the subject of our defence, I have never been impressed by Darikwa, until yesterday, so please keep proving me wrong because the lad was superb. One final pat on the back, to my fellow fans at the City Ground, the twelth man was back and it sounded great. U REDS.

I agree about darikwa. Thought he was improving game on game. Dawson is getting their too.

Starting to think that this squad is a long way from good enough except for Lolley, Colback and Grabban. We are carrying far to many average at best players. We have nobody capable of scoring the goals to make us contenders without Grabban and lack the creative player to play the Andy Reed role that is so vital. Also the fact that almost all the midfield positions are occupied by defensive midfield players gives us a dour negative look. don't like to put such a dampner on things but its just how I see it at the moment. Still renewed my season ticket in the hope we will get it right, but I hope MON goes for quality not quantity for next season. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 18 Mar 2019 22:28:56
Not so much they are average, but just the same type of player, run pass backwards and have no flair. Just a Massive unbalanced squad.
Makes me wonder what would happen if you slung appiah, lolley and goby in there and let the opposition worry about their pace?

At least the opposition couldn't man mark lolley.
It's not the modern game though unfortunately and you can see why, as any manager employing such tactics would be loved if successful, but would be sacked in no time if a failure, most just go for caution and it's understandable

2.) 19 Mar 2019 07:52:16
Great post. Top three sides play with attacking intent and keep possession. We’ve so many negative and defensive minded players. We never move after passing the ball and stay so static. We’re afraid to move out of position. I’ve said all year players bought should be able to adapt and be taught. I blame the coaches for not having the correct mentality.

3.) 19 Mar 2019 10:40:05
Can't continue to blame coaches and managers the players need to front up.

Fact is apart from Colback,Lolley,Grabban and Robinson they just aren't good enough!!

10 Mar 2019 10:58:40
I can at least say to my grandkids I saw Pele play now. He was clear MOM with Colback, Osborn and Lolley not far behind. Also our new look centre back did the business again in front of our new look keeper Pants Mk 2. Only down side was it took an hour to get Murphy off and get down to the task of winning the game with Carvalho showing some real quality in setting up the victory. Ansarifard and Bonatini just need more game time and offer the mobility that Murphy does not, and almost forgot, goals. So get em up for Villa MON and Ipswich and we could still be at the play offs. Hope our big Greek superstar enjoyed his first visit to the City Ground. U REDS.

With the sheep game and the excitement past it is very much as you were for Forest. Only when MON as convinced himself completely will he change things to such a degree that we can be more consistent and positive. The Derby win was great for all of us but the game was won by a defender. A back four with three defensive midfielders in front of them and Murphy and Osborn, neither who score goals leaves just Lolley as the only real goalscoring threat, so the opposition know exactly who the marking priority is.

We really miss Grabban and I think his absence will cost us dearly, so surely its time to see if Bonatini and Arinsfard can step up and score the missing goals. What have we to lose, goals win games and they are in short supply right now. Appiah also deserves a chance and would give us a genuine wide man with real pace. Go on Martin let's try and win it with attacking the opposition and putting them on the back foot from the start. We might just like what we see because the team that started at Stoke is not the answer I fear. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 04 Mar 2019 22:33:20
I'd throw them both in. Murphy just good for last 25 mins
May aswel see if these are worth keeping next season r

2.) 04 Mar 2019 22:38:24
While I agree I'd like to see more attacking side, irony think we have that in this squad and he has one eye on getting into the playoffs this season.
Blooming appiah now would be just a gamble and put pressure on the kid.
You have to remember,Martin has not had grabban to chose from,Bonatini isn't match fit, ansafarad can't be either, cash has been injured as well, all our goals have come from grabban, cash and lolley and only lolley is fit,so how can he play a more offensive side from this squad?

3.) 05 Mar 2019 08:20:08
Yates is capable of scoring goals, there is nothing wrong with defenders going up field at given times to try and score.

I can not see anything wrong with either starting Appiah then change him at half time, off if he is doing well keep him on, or bringing him on with about half an hour to go.

Most of us got excited when we beat derby but that excitement should not go because of the Stoke game, as long as there is a chance of us getting into the play offs we should not lose that excitement.

We did not lose too much ground on the top six after all as some results went our way, just a shame we could not take advantage.

28 Feb 2019 10:46:50
What a week, don't get many like this do we. The sheep shafted and then the superb news about the ground, wow. Biggest and best in east midlands and not losing our iconic City Ground and making it look like something from Ikea like the other pretenders in the region have. How things have changed since Evangalos Marinakis took over is mind blowing. So on behalf of all Forest fans, a million thankyous to our big Greek superstar. U REDS.

And hopefully more doom for the sadpies . Hopefully the increase is to take their 3000 fans (we all know the rest are sympathetic forest fans) leaving ample space for new comets and the doubters who still need to be swayed to come home .

2.) 28 Feb 2019 13:15:52
Great news about the stadium plans but I can’t get any satisfaction from another clubs struggles even if they are a local rival - I wouldn’t want to see another club go under whoever they are, you never know what’s coming up in the future and it could come back and bite you on the R’s 👎

3.) 28 Feb 2019 14:02:42
I wish them all their fans wish us

4.) 28 Feb 2019 15:18:55
Quite right Stevie. My sentiments too. Tara sadpies 😂😂😂

5.) 28 Feb 2019 17:32:28
I’m Not from Nottingham so don’t understand the rivalry or bitterness between us and county-I’ve always just thought of them as the little club with a slightly odd fan base, over the Trent. I understand that their fans are jealous of our success in the past years and I’m sure most of their fans deep down wish they were given the chance to be forest fans. I’d give them a pat on the back and feel sorry for them rather than wish bad on them on their club. In a way I’m glad my rivalries are based more on pure footballing issues rather than what some fans or management have said about us-I hate scousers and Man Utd fans/clubs much more than county or derby.

6.) 28 Feb 2019 18:02:18
2 tone as you don’t live in Nottingham you don’t have to listen to the small minded bitter bile than eminates from that pathetic shambles across the Trent , cheer led by the ace flasher himself Alan hardy,

7.) 28 Feb 2019 18:18:59
Stevie I do get that mate and that’s a plus about living away but that is just jealousy on their part- I just think we’ve got better rivals than a small set up that’s in our shadow

26 Feb 2019 19:05:53
Massive well done to all last night. Our defence were superb and Colback and Lolley outstanding. Need to congratulate my fellow fans who drove the team on all night. And Forsa Garibaldi did a great job also with all the banners looking terrific. Still got that inner satisfaction that only beating the sheep can give a Forest fan and on the night I thought our brilliant fans frightened the sheep shafters in their pen with the noise levels, poor little lambs. Also had a little chuckle wnen I read that Lucy Lampard had a go at Keeno and told him to get some balls. Got a hunch that might not have happened if the two of them were the only ones there in the car park later. Enjoy it Reds, and more please MON, could really get used to this. U REDS.

Tomorrow, I would be tempted to go 4411 with Smith, Lichaj, Worrall, Fox, Pinnilos, Pereira, Mancienne, Cohen, Traore, Clough, Brereton. Subs McCormack, Osbourne, Cash, Caryol, Assambalonga, Mills, Evtimov. Pereira and Traore both named as fullbacks but I think both are good at getting forward but still have that defensive side when needed. Gboly Ariyibi would be my wild card pick as what I have seen of him he looks very good. And it could be Vaughan instead of either Cash or Caryol if you need to go for a stronger defensive squad.

If Forest loose at Brum I think Jack Lester will be put in charge as caretaker. I think he would do a good job and even land it full time. Would make sense as the queue for new manager won't be very long I fear. He knows and values the youngsters and would provide the team with shape and motivation.

Really good post Carlo. Getting back to the all important basics really and getting our club performing well again after twenty years in the wilderness. The club thanks to our Greek friend is in the best shape it as been for years and if MON can provide the final piece in the jigsaw it would be absolutley fantastic for all of our supporters to finally see it come good. The final sentence , last chance for some of us oldies made me think that could include me to, sixty years a fan this year. Started with Jack Burkitt lifting the FA cup in 1959 and to get back in the top flight after such a long absence would be amazing.

So in Warburton you trust. Why don't I believe you. He is not fit to lace Dougie Freedmans bootlaces. The man who had no money to spend, could only bring in frees or loans but still kept us up. This man who you trust as already spent millions on players who are not up to it, fact.

Another Forest fan told me he had seen a report saying Villa had him on £52,000 a week. Even if we are only paying half of that it seems crazy to have him as a bench warmer with his record.
