In a Paul Taylor article he suggested Forest are looking at major refurbishment of the City Ground or even a new stadium. Can anyone shed any light on this one.

Retford Red

1.) 22 May 2018 21:08:42
Just hope its not a "light in a shed??"😉😉
Bob hope and no hope of anyone on here knowing more😂😂😂

2.) 22 May 2018 21:13:30
He's probably struggling for factual information. He needs us to keep buying the NP after all.

13 May 2018 12:41:55
Carlo and Sutton make a good point over Evtimovs lack of opportunity at Forest. If memory serves me well he made one mistake v Wednesday in a game that he had otherwise done well in and that was him done, banished never to return. Think back how many mistakes Smith was making fairly regularly and it does seem tough on the lad to never be given another chance imo. Having said that Pants is by far the best option out of the current bunch and I hope AK can land him for next season.

Danny Fox as had an excellent season beside Figueiredo and was my choice for POY but we still need a big strong kick and head it centre half at the side of Fig if we are ever going to stop the set piece mayhem that as cost us dear all season. Why not push Foxy forward into the midfield anchor role were his lack of height would not matter as much and his good passing range could be a plus with his natural defensive instincts covering the back four. It could also save the club a lot of dosh, eg Colback. U REDS.

People say look how jl is now at Newcastle and say we should of kept him.maybe he’s grown into that player because of the Newcastle staff and more importantly playing with better players.the same will happen to Worrall he will go to a better club and the staff will bring him in better than what the forest staff will.jl looked shocking and times for it and at best average

12 May 2018 21:48:50
Carlo and Sutton make a very valid point about Evtimov. I have often thought the lad deserves a better chance to prove himself considering how long he as been at the club. If memory serves me he made one mistake against Sheffield Wednesday and gone, discarded to be forgotten. Smith made many mistakes but was never treat in the way that Evtimov as been. Really hope AK gives him that chance before sending on his way as I think he might surprise a lot of people. Pantillimon is still the pick of our current crop though. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 12 May 2018 22:30:59
Just shows how things are because Pantillimon has been guilty of some poor mistakes.
CARLO

2.) 12 May 2018 22:49:03
Retford can't remember Smith making many mistakes and he kept us up last season v Ipswich. Hasn't done much wrong and suddenly he's 3rd choice.I feel sorry for him, very unlucky imo.Hopefully he 'll keep working and prove AK wrong. Must be a bit demotivatedthough but he's young and will bounce back.

3.) 12 May 2018 23:57:16
Let's forget about the young lads please karanka wants experience he's not got long to get forest up and the big risk of him taking this job if he doesn't his managerial career will be having one big set back

4.) 12 May 2018 23:59:43
And ain't that the truth Carlo.
They say never get beaten at your near post? And yet he does.
But he can hoof it and does.

5.) 13 May 2018 10:39:57
Not impressed with Kapino.

6.) 13 May 2018 17:42:37
Smith and Kapino just need experience. Both are sill young especially for keepers and though Kapino played regularly in Championship season for Olympiakos and has played for Greek national team and in Champions league he is in a new country and doesn’t speak much English yet but I think given time he could be decent, I feel he looked ok with crosses and shot stopping but his control of area lacked and communication but that may be a language issue which can improve. Karanka said he liked Smith but he needs more experience. I would like to see Kapino stay and be back up next season and Smith maybe go on loan to league one for a season.

7.) 13 May 2018 18:00:25
Hoofing is better than the poor distribution from Smith is it not?how many times did smith put us under pressure after poor passes out from the back?but I suppose that’s the way barca and city play isn’t it?

8.) 13 May 2018 20:02:14
Sutton we don't play that type of football under Karanka,so Smith's distribution wouldn't be a problem.
When your hoofing it to a young lad up fr0nt with an ageing midfield behind an 40 yards away, even if he wins it??
Guess what happens??
It comes straight back.🤔🤔

08 May 2018 13:06:50
Like many other Reds I will be waiting to hear Tuesdays decision on the players informed they have no future here under AK. Brutal honesty makes me think that figure will be high. We are not good enough and we have not been good enough for far to long so I hope AK will be ruthless and work towards a new squad and a new start by off loading those not up to it. They have had their chance. That said, it could as difficult if not more so to move some of these on because of the stupid contracts dished out by his predecessor. AK as one hell of a difficult task ahead because Marinakis will want the decks clearing of as much deadwood as possible before adding to an already top heavy squad as the manager aims for his twenty three player limit. Best of British there then boss. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 08 May 2018 16:21:16
I am sure he will be ruthless and one or two surprises in the out going department. He will stick with the youngsters who have been out on loan as he will need to have them to top up his 22/23 preferred size squad?

2.) 08 May 2018 22:28:14
If you remember rightly retford .
Warbo only signed
Darikwa
Cummings
McKay
Murphy
Bridcutt
Boukalakis
And dowell loan.
Only one was a given a contract too long for his age?
Murphy?on that we all agree.
The rest of the squad was inherited so you can't lay the blame squarely at warbo's door.

Karanka bought in ten only two good enough and that's figs and watson and the the occasional flash from Billy bunter
By playing Worrall we've attracted bids of 12 million, which is twice what he spent on players.

3.) 09 May 2018 05:48:22
Ff799, on your list that means Murphy given too long a contract, Darikwa will stay as will Bridcutt. The rest will be gone, and Warburton had longer than Karanka to access the squad before a transfer window came around.

All our managers have had different ideas so inherited players they do not want.

4.) 08 May 2018 11:45:33
What is it with people worshipping Warburton, he WAS garbage.

5.) 11 May 2018 15:16:33
Lolley isn’t good enough???? You mental!? Best Jan deal in years!!!!!! Think Colback was a solid signing in Jan from AK too! Only Dejagah and Fuentes who didn’t really perform out of AKs Jan signings though Tomlin and Geddy have been up and down but both played part in last 10 games especially Tomlin.
Out of Warbs signings only Dowell and maybe Darwinkwa were any good really. maybe Bridcutt. McKay did exactly what Rangers fans said and started brilliant and then nose dived horribly!

06 May 2018 20:41:00
Thankfully that ends another pretty grim season for Forest fans. Now AK will be given the opportunity to ship out and ship in the players that he wants with time to do it this time. Two positives are we were safe and not scratching around for points on the last game like last season. The other positive was that Marinakis got it right and told Warburton to do one before he got us relegated. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 06 May 2018 21:06:50
According to Ff799 it was not Warburton that was to blame, either he was hard of hearing or he was lied to.

The present manager is not guaranteed to succeed, but whatever happens Ff799 gets to be happy, either he says i told you so, or it feels good to be wrong.

Dont really like even giving that crowd down the road a mention but I think the appointment of Frank Lamb part will end badly for the sheep. FFP will surely take its toll as it did on us, players will be sold and the new manager who as landed the role on name only will find the situation difficult especially if Vydra is sold to balance the books. Our time is coming and I can't wait for the bleeting to start. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 01 Jun 2018 09:49:40
Retford Red and can you believe that Jermaine Jenas thinks that it is a good appointment!? Makes me think that these pundits are all peeing in the same pot! Pure greed or maybe free masons!?

2.) 01 Jun 2018 10:00:51
Sgetty perhaps Jermaine is thinking as a forest fan

3.) 01 Jun 2018 10:02:02
JJ could be saying it tongue in cheek- it’s a good appointment for forest fans??

4.) 01 Jun 2018 10:33:09
You probably right lads. Irony is not usually missed by me !

5.) 01 Jun 2018 21:27:51
Never judge a book by its cover?
Personally I think he seems to nice to be a manager?
But you don't know till they try?
Good players don't always become good managers, but he's got it in his blood and might surprise??
Let's hope not in the sheep dip. 😂😂

Creepy, your posts are fine mate, some of the best on here.

Retford Red

1.) 07 May 2018 23:15:41
Much appreciated Retford. Just like to give a fans perspective because I do wonder at times what game the Radio and Post reporters are watching

29 Apr 2018 18:19:06
Really good post 2 Star re AK and CC. How many of todays managers, or past Forest ones for that matter would have shown such class to honour a player with lots of class himself, and that's not a reference just about the playing side of him. He as always been an example to other players and a great ambassador for Forest. Good luck Chris with your coaching, you deserve all the luck going mate. Finally to 2 Stars point on the people who seem to thrive on been critics of AK and his determination to rebuild the club and show class like yesterday. They are minimal in number and getting less by the day. I don't think they will heed your advice and do one, as good as it would be, because they would not know what else to do. We are progressing under AK, and with another transfer window under his belt watch us go. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 30 Apr 2018 10:02:35
How can anyone say"do one" just for having a different opinions.
That's the most pathetic statement ever.
Have some never critised a manager?
This site is all about opinions, and long may that continue.
So I would suggest some of you need to take a long look at yourselves before posting such nonsense.

2.) 30 Apr 2018 11:30:27
Forest 79 there's not 1 person on here that hasn't critised a manager at one point and I'm sorry if some of the fans don't like it but as far as I'm concerned I've seen little bits of progress but nothing to shout about it's that simple and until the transfer window shuts and we've gone 10 games into next season I will have the same opinion he's not done much

3.) 30 Apr 2018 11:51:28
Take a long hard look at yourself and then do one 😂

4.) 30 Apr 2018 12:07:25
That's what I mean skeggs,Are we all supposed to agree?? And if we don't?do one?
I'm with you, let's wait and see,I hope he does the buisness, but only time will tell.

5.) 30 Apr 2018 12:22:15
Plenty to say as usual 2 tone???🤔🤔

6.) 30 Apr 2018 13:16:19
Lol 2tone, and I know 2star doesn't mean owt by it, it's just banter and there's been many times I feel like saying, do one Karanka. 😉😁

7.) 30 Apr 2018 18:29:50
Short and sweet F79- no need to write loads of nonsense, I leave that to you 👍

8.) 30 Apr 2018 18:43:53
My ‘do one’ request was not aimed at anyone on this site - not a bit. Love the opinions on here which is why I come come on here. I was referring to the match day moaners and groaners.

9.) 30 Apr 2018 19:09:48
Take it with a pinch of salt F79, it’s only a bit of a laugh and if you didn’t get any sort of reaction or replies you wouldn’t enjoy posting on here as much as you do

10.) 30 Apr 2018 19:23:47
Do one 2tone!😂

11.) 30 Apr 2018 19:25:54
And actually I’ve just realised I never actually told anyone to do one in the first place ! It’s that Retford Red making Mischeif again!

12.) 30 Apr 2018 20:00:42
2 tone or anyone else apologies,no offence intended and it was a reply to retford.
Had a bad day sitting in the eye infirmary with a splinter in my eye for 5 hours and could only look through one eye.
Then had to go to another hospital to have skin cancer cut out my chest,So a bit more grumpy than normal.
Home now feeling a lot better till the anestetic wears off no doubt tinnies at the ready 🍻🍻
So take no notice all like normal😁😁😁

13.) 30 Apr 2018 20:23:24
Keep well F79 and keep the banter coming as it's far better than watching the telly.😉

{Ed001's Note - best of luck F79 sorry to hear you've been through the wars so to speak mate. Get well soon.}

14.) 30 Apr 2018 22:14:43
We know that 2star 👍

15.) 30 Apr 2018 22:22:31
The banter has got a little fractious as our dreams of last summer have been dashed (even though we craved consolidation!).

However, the watershed moment happened in January with the great purge. Those who went have barely played. Those signed in the summer have barely played. The existing cream and newbies have moved us forward.

So instead of chasing flies let's just all agree this has been the best season we have had in years with something to look forward to in the summer where AK and the club are for once ahead of the game?

Onward and Upwards!

28 Apr 2018 20:45:40
Very good first half with many chances created, but with no end product. Bristol keeper did make some crucial saves though. Foxy and Ice Lolley our best players but all the players had decent games except for the dreadful Murphy who does not deserve to wear the shirt, despite picking up big wages. He offers us nothing. Thanks a bunch Warburton for lumbering the club with him and his crazy contract. Thanks and good luck Chris with your coaching, you have been an inspiration to so many at Forest mate, and deserve all the luck in the world. U REDS.

Retford Red

1.) 28 Apr 2018 21:15:27
I have never understood a player being given a 4 or 5 year contract when a decent age, and 3 year contracts to players of Murphy's age.
If that is the only reason they join us then do they care about the club, or is it the club has a idiotic moment.

2.) 29 Apr 2018 14:45:45
I think the long contract was to keep his salary within FFP by spreading out the payments?

26 Apr 2018 21:12:32
Asked fellow Reds about Worrall and if they think we should have cashed in. So while on centre halves, is it beyond the realms of possability that Jack Hobbs at only 29 could stll do a job next season paired up with Fig. Could a pay as you play contract or something similar work. Or as his awful injury record burnt his bridges at Forest. Hobbs is a big strong no nonsence, head it and kick it defender who is keen to point out he is now fully fit. IMO our best central defensive partnership over recent years was that of Hobbs and Lascelles. Would like to see Hobbs and Fig against Bristol, that could prove quite interesting and you never know.

Retford Red

1.) 26 Apr 2018 23:14:53
cant see if as he can't stay fit do think we want another centre back, i'd like jake cooper from Millwall.

2.) 27 Apr 2018 14:44:27
Taken so long long to get Hobbs fit I’d like to see him play next season. Unfortunately for him with his injury history it would be a gamble for the club to give him another years contract. If he moves on he’ll probably be injury free for years to come.

3.) 27 Apr 2018 15:52:56
Manchienne has a very good game against Barnsley and looked like his confidence and belief was back, I think Karanka will keep Worrall as he has been excellent but I am not sure teams will offer big money since he has hardly played in last few months now but I think with the renewed confidence the team has Worrall could be a key player next season. Hobbs will go I think. His injuries seem too much and I just feel he will look for a lower level of intensity maybe. he would be more likely to play and stay fit att League one and would own players there and who knows he still might work up. I think Karanka will look for at least 3 new signings in defence with a Centre back and a Leftback coming in for sure.

Tomorrow, I would be tempted to go 4411 with Smith, Lichaj, Worrall, Fox, Pinnilos, Pereira, Mancienne, Cohen, Traore, Clough, Brereton. Subs McCormack, Osbourne, Cash, Caryol, Assambalonga, Mills, Evtimov. Pereira and Traore both named as fullbacks but I think both are good at getting forward but still have that defensive side when needed. Gboly Ariyibi would be my wild card pick as what I have seen of him he looks very good. And it could be Vaughan instead of either Cash or Caryol if you need to go for a stronger defensive squad.

If Forest loose at Brum I think Jack Lester will be put in charge as caretaker. I think he would do a good job and even land it full time. Would make sense as the queue for new manager won't be very long I fear. He knows and values the youngsters and would provide the team with shape and motivation.

So in Warburton you trust. Why don't I believe you. He is not fit to lace Dougie Freedmans bootlaces. The man who had no money to spend, could only bring in frees or loans but still kept us up. This man who you trust as already spent millions on players who are not up to it, fact.

Another Forest fan told me he had seen a report saying Villa had him on £52,000 a week. Even if we are only paying half of that it seems crazy to have him as a bench warmer with his record.
