Is it just me or is anyone else just underwhelmed by the Murphy signing? Bar one season, he's had a very average career. I would have sooner kept the £2m, and given Velios a go!

agreed murdoch. i think he could do a job but think it seems a bit wierd to have signed another quite average striker when we seem to have decent options there already. if we were gong to sign another atriker i thought ir eould have been a certain starter rather than another option. oh well, i have a lot of faith in warburtons signings and trust him.

Agreed Clough is the balls when he plays. But he needs a player like Murphy to give him the opportunities. McKay and Clough will shine with a decent big man around.

Re Murphy, we haven't had a decent header of the ball up front for years.
How many headed goals by strikers do we get?
He will make a great target man, roughing up defenders.
We need him this season, maybe by next season the youngsters will have matured and he can be a squad player, following season we could sell him.
Re his age, look at Defoe, still a scorer, remember Dean Windass, prolific in this division for Hull and got them up. Let's see what happens.

Redinexile you got it right mate. He hasn't been signed as our out and out front man every week. We would pay 6 mill plus for that. He is a game changer. Something we haven't got. I live near ipswich and have seen him play. He is an old fashioned handful. Will get his head on crosses and cause havoc. In games when we are on top he will be great. When we play on the break we will need bens pace. Options is what its about.

Sending the players partners flowers is not a big thing in itself however it shows how far the club have moved on in such a short time

I agree it's inclusive and good to build positive relationships. Is a life that most can only dream of not recompense enough for what is fairly minor inconveniences in the ground scheme of thing. Check out the M1 on a Sunday night and a Friday afternoon. As countless mums and dads head off / return after spending all day away from their families to earn a living. I support everything that the club are doing but feel some perspective is needed on this one.

We keep getting linked to players then next we have competition for said player, we don't know if any of it is true or paper talk so will wait and see. One thing that does bother me though is not the daily links about Brit
but the silence from forest, it would be easy for them to say he is part of our plans and going nowhere or it is going to cost x millions to deter people but nothing?

Its the usual people have no patience, just them get on with it and stop being moany about it. Yes we would like them to say he's staying but if someone bid 20 mill then they would have to let him go, so there is no way they can guarantee that about any player.
If people had to decline every rumour about every player they wouldn't have time to do anything else. You'll just have to wait till the end of the transfer window like everyone else:)

I i remember right it was PM that said Burke was not leaving, Burke then left no more than two days later so either PM lied to the fans, or your favourite man lied to PM, and let him hold an interview to mention the fact. Deals do not get done in one or two days, so your mate knew Burke would be leaving long before he actually left.

Correct me if I am wrong but these were the same defenders under douggie freedman who were excellent the season before last we just couldn't score that year
Then the chopping and changing happened with a different defence every game
So hopefully MW can do something with them.

Daz. I have seen McKay play a couple of times on tv
and have also seen the video of him (I know we have seen vids before) but he looks a really usefull player that plays wide and can pick a pass. I would not be disappointed
if we got this particular scot as I think he is well worth a shot.
