Byram has had surgery, so it could be quite a while before he is fit again.

Stags2Trees

1.) 12 Sep 2018 13:31:29
it won't matter because according to skegjay he was crap anyway

2.) 12 Sep 2018 13:45:30
Lol chopsy ๐Ÿ˜ด๐Ÿ˜

3.) 12 Sep 2018 14:40:47
sorry skegs i couldn't resist it lol

11 Sep 2018 19:03:21
Gboly could be going on loan to Chesterfield, as they are a non league team the rules allow it.

Stags2Trees

1.) 11 Sep 2018 19:17:00
all these players going are a clear out and a breath of fresh air

2.) 11 Sep 2018 19:26:56
Chopsy You are are a strange one.

You want Aitor to be given a chance yet Aitor has not given a speed merchant a chance, he refused to play him, even in a pre season friendly.

Yet Aitor has played loads of other players, even ones that have not played for ages. Go figure.

3.) 11 Sep 2018 20:12:17
speed merchant ? wtf lol. because if he s that fast put him in the national in april at least he has nt got a ball to kick about

4.) 12 Sep 2018 00:05:06
Some people just cannot cope with change? Embrace it and enjoy the ride!
Things cannot get worse than under Fawaz!

5.) 11 Sep 2018 23:17:03
Not seen the lad play so can't comment, pretty sure that goes for most,so chopsey unless he ten foot tall ,runs like the bolt and jumps like red rum,I doubt he'll make the final fourty,.
Won't make karankas fourty either.
Wonder what free agent is going to replace him??
Must be a Chinese player out there we've never heard of that could be an improvement๐Ÿค”

6.) 12 Sep 2018 09:52:21
Yes it,s time we joined the oriental revolution ,Don,t think we,ve had one yet?
CARLO
PS
Don,t think AK likes Americans

7.) 12 Sep 2018 12:19:54
at least we got 2 posts up before karankas name was bought into it and if karanka puts him in the team and it goes wrong ak gets slaughtered if karanka wants him to go out on loan to get some football ak gets slaughtered how do you figure that works stag2trees

8.) 12 Sep 2018 12:20:53
Having a clear out lol there's more crap coming in then going out

9.) 12 Sep 2018 13:26:50
looks like he s not going now he wants to sit on his contract and before anybody says owt that's the contract that ak didn't give him. and that's a good reply skegjay well thought out.

10.) 12 Sep 2018 17:04:40
Franz Carr was a speed merchant but that was about it

11.) 12 Sep 2018 17:52:48
Pc76 that is going back some time, oh the memories. I know with Chesterfield he was in a different league to us but when with them he was scoring regularly. I think he deserved a few games to prove himself, last season few pulled up any trees after all.

12.) 12 Sep 2018 18:37:58
stag2trees your right he does deserve a few games but not with us and i'm surprised a team like notts didn't come in for him after losing grant to luton at least that way we could have kept an eye on him but nobody in league football are interested in him so he s going to sit there and leach the club and i don't pay at the gate for players like that.

13.) 12 Sep 2018 22:03:21
How can he leach the club ,we have given him the contract, not his fault he's just collecting what's due as will the rest of the other twenty eight firsteamers, many of who won't play much as well.๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

14.) 12 Sep 2018 23:48:19
Lol skeg! Itโ€™s like having a blocked drain

11 Sep 2018 12:22:14
Ansarifard has signed according to the NP.

Stags2Trees

1.) 11 Sep 2018 12:46:14
That needs to be the last signing it's getting ridiculous, even redknapp wasn't this bad.

2.) 11 Sep 2018 13:08:08
Ff. Is that 3 teams we could put out now, no wonder Aitor said we enough depth to cope with 7 games in 21 days. ๐Ÿคฃ

3.) 11 Sep 2018 13:54:01
That's when they are fit to play with no training and preseason behind them.

4.) 11 Sep 2018 14:41:48
He's worst than my missus when it comes to shopping, and that's saying something,if he's kept the receipts she could help him out as she's a dab hand at taking faulty goods back,๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

5.) 11 Sep 2018 18:03:19
Taxi for Watson.

6.) 11 Sep 2018 18:12:00
Rawa Would he be quick enough to catch it๐Ÿคฃ

7.) 11 Sep 2018 19:30:12
So many new faces maybe he's building an extension on the ground lol ๐Ÿ˜‚

8.) 11 Sep 2018 20:14:39
We want more, we want more. Come on FF, there's a winning team in there, somewhere.๐Ÿ‘Š

9.) 11 Sep 2018 20:55:54
There's a winning team in there alright, just the manager ain't very good at finding it.

10.) 12 Sep 2018 00:08:55
Finally a plan comes together. Let the season begin!

11.) 12 Sep 2018 07:20:28
Let the season begin?
The rest started six games ago.

12.) 12 Sep 2018 12:21:59
Yes 79 were the only team that needs time to gel lol

13.) 12 Sep 2018 13:52:29
Better than peaking too early! The Leeds fans are getting worried they have been found out and have no Plan B?

15 Sep 2018 18:03:42
Aitor has said : We were more like ourselves, that is the way i want us to play every game.

Keep the same team for the next game Aitor and you might get your wish.

Make a load of changes then that would effectively tell the players they were not good enough, not good for moral.

Stags2Trees

1.) 15 Sep 2018 20:59:12
he also said that he told the players that they are just that,a squad and all have a chance to play.

2.) 15 Sep 2018 21:17:02
That is all well and good but how are players going to gell when the manager keeps changing players in order to keep everyone happy.

The other players will eventually get their chance when suspensions and injuries start.

It should not be a given you get a game.

3.) 15 Sep 2018 23:02:44
True but then if you don't get picked and play for several games you want be up to match fitness and match speed. difficult one

13 Sep 2018 19:25:22
Aitor has said the new signings will bring character to the team both on and off the pitch, but they will need time to get up to speed.

The thing is if the team, not just the new players do not get up to speed and sharpish Aitor will be out of work before all his work has been completed.

Stags2Trees

1.) 13 Sep 2018 20:47:45
That's the problem with signing players with no club or preseason behind them,if you rush them into the side they just get injured.
The last batch we lost the Iranian and Spanish lad to injuries, that's what happens when your not match fit.

2.) 14 Sep 2018 07:26:43
The spanish lad had his leg snapped in half. that's not to do with fitness.

3.) 14 Sep 2018 08:42:58
Interesting times ahead. For my money AK is not the man, sorry but no progression, just chaos. Having said that is he making himself teflon? Most of his signings are not match fit and of a foreign nature. Lose tomorrow and the nightmare begins. Or does it? If they sacked him who would want the job with so many maverick travellers in the squad? A new broom would want his own type of player and that would be impossible now. Way too costly and how could anyone ship out more dross to make way for new faces??? So AK is making it his job for the long term and someone upstairs must have absolute faith in him. Massive game tomorrow from the fans perspective!!!

4.) 14 Sep 2018 09:47:11
Rutland what choas?yes he has signed a lot of players but has also despatched under achiving players as well ill admit not a good start but i will give 15 games to form an opinion

5.) 14 Sep 2018 11:06:09
Aps1952 i'am not sure he gave the squad he inherited a fair crack. He decided hastiky that cummings and mckay were not right but replaced them with lightweight portuguese. 13mil gets you a recognised striker in this league and the 7mil on grabon gets you a class midfielder. The recruitment this last fortnight suggests that AK is not happy even with the players he brought in. It must effect morale within the squad. I hope and pray that i am wrong and am munching on huge humble pie in a week or two's time.
Btw just watched Hefele's interview on youtube. " we are Nottingham Forest and the crowd give us more than 10% lift "
He could be a very astute bit of business from AK and at 300k a snip.

6.) 14 Sep 2018 13:39:32
The squad AK inherited was garbage, Mckay was too inconsistent & easy to bully out the game, Cummins a 2nd rate off the shoulder striker who has no place in a lone striker role.

Dont see a problem with the recruitment bar lack of cover for Carvalho & Guedioura, the second of which Karankas just dealt with.

Squad isn't that bloated, its got decent depth to call on when the inevitable injuries hit.

Seems to be an anti AK vibe on here, not sure why, he's firmed us up at the back, shown glimpses of what to expect going forward & put some decent players on the books.

7.) 14 Sep 2018 13:50:06
Where do you get the idea he's firmed us up at the back?
We concede every game, usually about two and that's with the jolly green giant in goal, plus two holding midfielders to protect them as well.
We havnt improved one bit in that department my friend

8.) 14 Sep 2018 14:03:44
Wow cjay lol just cause some fans don't see what you c in Mr karanka it doesn't make us anti karanka I just can't see what you do there is no consistency in any of his game at all and as for going forward don't see that neither no progress what so ever

9.) 14 Sep 2018 14:16:09
Cjay Firmed up the back ?

10.) 14 Sep 2018 14:20:27
How much consistency do you want after 6 games with a new side & the missing link at the base injured?

As for firming up? Check the concession rates. We were about 1 a game end of last season, about 1.2 now. may not look much, but against the 1.6 odd under MW, that's a significant improvement.

Ak was always going to start this back to front, foundations in place, now to put performances like The Brom one in on a consistent basis, things will take shape.

Them who want a change, how has bailing out & leaving the next guy with the players worked for us in the past?

11.) 14 Sep 2018 14:32:08
The changes i want Cjay are performances improving, and winning more games than we draw. Firmed up the back implies it has been sorted, all has been done is it going from absolutely rubbish to rubbish.

12.) 14 Sep 2018 14:47:20
Cjay there's only one other manager that would come into a club and go about it in such a reckless way and that's Harry.
Karanka decided to go down that route and now we have 29 first team players,be hard for any manager to make that work.
Doesn't matter what we think as fans because the owners are expecting success for supporting him,so patience isn't a word Mr marinakis understands, usually gets through a couple of managers a year at olympiacos.
Said it before I hope he succeeds, but it's 29 games now and were not moving forwards.
You say about consistency? Well after the Brom game he made changes and has continued to do so,so how do you consistency by doing that?
Stats can distort what is actually happening as we are only capable of scoring one or two and not capable of a clean sheet, with that wins will be hard to come by.

13.) 14 Sep 2018 14:53:32
Firmed up at the back means we're conceding less goals, we are. Only glaring issue I see defensively is set pieces, with slight QMs at FB.

Teams concede goals btw, why is it fans see us concede & condemn the whole thing as rubbish.

Id understand if we were churning out these performances at Christmas, but we're 6 games in!

Brief is promotion in 2 seasons, wheres the panic?

14.) 14 Sep 2018 15:01:44
What is it about the Karanka blueprint at Championship Middlesborough we don't like here? i'm not sure Boro fans were complaining when he got them up with heavy recruitment.

Wheres he been reckless? 13 mill in a class Portugese midfielder & 6 mill on a striker who put 20 goals away last season. Certainly not an amount to give you a divine right to win every game.

The rest look a decent mix of quality & experience with minimal outlay.

29 isn't a bloated squad, its bang average for the championship.

15.) 14 Sep 2018 15:22:51
Cjay I'm quite happy for the Borough fans to take him back I will pay the taxi fare but I can't see them wanting to get rid of pulis for him ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜

16.) 14 Sep 2018 15:39:46
Who do you want in then Jay?

17.) 14 Sep 2018 16:10:20
Someone who plays attacking football would be nice,or if it has to be dour but effective big Sam would get the job done.
I'm sure Mr Mendes has someone lined up,like he did at wolves.

18.) 14 Sep 2018 16:33:54
I don't get it, we have a manager with a style clearly conducive to Championship promotion & you want to revert to a style that failed the last guy.

Or maybe Allardyce, who plays a similar attritional style to the one you don't want, but his promotion was back in 2012.

Lets stop winging it & give the man a chance.

19.) 14 Sep 2018 17:03:34
Cj. Firmed up the back?
Are you Jeremy beadle. forest still leak goals more than ever.
AK has about as much drive in him than Fred flinstone going up a hill in his car!
AK has had more than ample time to figure out his best players.
But guess what when they perform he drops them and brings in more midfielders?
Is this an indication of a tactical genius or someone who's out of his depth?. Hmmmm I wonder!
Warburton was bad but ak is a hell of a lot worse.
You say we moan but we all pay good money to see our team do well and entertain us but that has yet to come into fruition has it not?
Senor Karanka give us what you promised and your job will be saved but fail Mr. Marinakis and you will be riding your donkey back to Marbella.

20.) 14 Sep 2018 17:04:58
Cjay when the players start playing every game like the Newcastle game and not just turning up against just relegated PL sides, and current PL sides we will be happier. Progress, then wins,i was not expecting winning most games, just hard work, passion, and progression.

Surely not asking too much, is it?

21.) 14 Sep 2018 17:06:21
Ps. We don't care if he got Boro up.
1 we support forest not boro.
2 they came straight back down and Manuel went missing and threw his toys out the pram. Very professional!
3 don't dwell on past achievements at another club.

22.) 14 Sep 2018 17:37:56
And after all the ffb boro fans still like be him and wish him the best.the opposite of what rangers and Boltonโ€™s fans said about the great warbo and Dougie.
So all said and done if we start winning games and he gets us to the playoffs that would just about make him the best manager in history as itโ€™s nearly impossible for his way to work,is that right ff?

23.) 14 Sep 2018 18:47:09
๐Ÿ˜‚ good to have you back Cjay.

24.) 14 Sep 2018 19:00:54
Sutton I'm going to enjoy a good day out at Swansea and I'll take a draw now.
We then have two homes games and to me if we don't win them then I will be seriously worried, how about you?

25.) 14 Sep 2018 19:02:11
Well FBB stop repeating what Karankas team style was like at boro. Canโ€™t have it both ways to suit your argument

26.) 14 Sep 2018 23:01:11
Cjay
Welcome back and nice to have some more informed comment than the noisy minority who just revert to the default sack button every time we do not get the result they demand!

13 Sep 2018 12:04:55
Steele

Robinson Hefele Dawson Janko

Guedioura Colback

Osborn Diaz Cash

Murphy

I would go with the above if all are fit, Janko to be sub at half if struggling and after a hour sub Diaz with Grabban.

Stags2Trees

1.) 13 Sep 2018 18:58:19
How can you possibly say you will sub a player after an hour, before the match starts?

2.) 13 Sep 2018 19:36:35
Grabban has been injured, i was just thinking by around the hour mark he would start to tire.

Im sure many on the site would pick a vastly different team to me.

3.) 13 Sep 2018 19:38:42
Forgot to add: Diaz tires quite often.

12 Sep 2018 04:15:46
Redinexile You say you want us to see the bigger picture, and footballing success is delivered over 46 games not on a game by game basis?

Do you genuinely think that we do not know that?

Sadly with all the money awash in football now a days being relegated mean a massive drop in revenue, and being promoted means a astronomical rise in revenue therefore clubs get very twitchy if relegation looks a possibility, or promotion looks unlikely when investment has been made.

The reason some fans like myself are not happy is simply that like someone else has said we want to watch decent football and to see the team being competitive which is not the case.

The club however set the standard with Warburton by sacking him while 9 points away from the play offs. When that happens to a manager that was given something like ยฃ5m to spend how can they without looking stupid retain Aitor if in a similar position within the same time frame.

Aitor has been had so much more backing, and could yet turn things around, and we all want that to happen in spite of what you think but at this point Aitor looks unlikely to get us in a better position than Warburton did, if that turns out to be the case then he can not complain should he be sacked.

If only i could see progression being made game by game i would have no problem waiting to game 46, but there is not any progression as of yet.

COYR.

Stags2Trees

1.) 12 Sep 2018 08:45:34
Yup stags that's what i have been saying. let's look at finances and wasted money. If we appointed a warnock or allerdice do you think money would have been spent on fickle maverick out of work foreigners??? Not just 5mil but closer to 30mil. No a warnock or Allerdice would be looking for grafters, good recognised footballers with good attitude and above all experience. The recent additions may turn outto be good particularly the ex west brom lad but it stinks of panic and total dissary at the club.
Personally promotion is not the only thing that matters, good football and progress is enough for this forest lifer but not the owners, its premiership at all costs.

2.) 12 Sep 2018 10:25:51
Rutland Both Allardyce and Warnock make sure players give all for the team for sure. Team spirit, hard work, and organisation are their basis. Off course they have had success more than once.

3.) 12 Sep 2018 10:50:34
Rutland , agree entirely with everthing accept the type of football part. I couldnโ€™t care less as long as we compete , I wouldnโ€™t to watch it forever but am willing to accept a Pullis/Warnock / Allardyce approach if it means we become feared and hard to beat. Billy Davies give us football and resilience but he couldnโ€™t finish the job.

4.) 12 Sep 2018 11:17:54
Agreed 2star. Good football is open to opinion. Me its getting going pressing even direct. does not have to be tippy tappy no end priduct like Arsenal and England. Just get at them and lift the crowd!!!

5.) 12 Sep 2018 11:57:12
With all these latest additions would these go straight into the squad?
Karanka is panicking I think?
Give him 3 games and if he loses it's adios.

6.) 13 Sep 2018 00:28:09
Sacking Warburton was not setting a standard as he was only ever a stop gap during the protracted takeover. We were going nowhere with tippy tappy sideways and Scottish lightweights. Funny how the Warbo fans forget their moaning over his family agent influences on recruitment?
Look forwards not backwards !

7.) 13 Sep 2018 01:50:03
Oh dear Redinexile, i'm certainly not a Warburton fan as he took the approach you can score 2 but we will score 3 which is reckless, and yes sacking him has set the standard.

Please explain how it is acceptable to sack a manager that spent ยฃ5m who had his team within reaching distance of the play offs yet a manger who has spent ยฃ25m+ should keep his job if he achieves the same.

You will have to do better than that, whether or not a manager is a stop gap they should be judged on where the team is in the league, where are we now. Like i said oh dear, poor Redinexile you really do have a man crush on Aitor.

11 Sep 2018 18:51:03
I think i have worked out how Aitor's mind is working.

He loves one up front, so that will never change, so i see that the reason for all the midfielders being brought in is to play

3-6-1 that is full of attacking intent and will steam roller the opposition.

Stags2Trees

1.) 11 Sep 2018 19:53:53
Might be not exactly right if not Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ll be smarty put into my place
I make it 19 players out
18 players in
Out of the ones that have left who would you have kept instead of the incoming
Iโ€™m only interested to know

2.) 11 Sep 2018 19:54:47
Maybe 1-5-2-1-1? Sweeper, 3 centre halves, 2 wing backs, 2 holding midfielders, 1 box to box midfielder (just in case) and 1 forward (with 4 opposition defenders to chat to in case he gets lonely). Surely we'd keep a clean sheet then. COYR.๐Ÿ˜Š

3.) 11 Sep 2018 20:07:31
Freddie, none of them for me mate, I donโ€™t think we are missing much from any of them. Then again - is what weโ€™ve brought In mich better ?

4.) 11 Sep 2018 20:26:22
REDFREDDIE That is a tough question. The trouble is Aitor was not prepared to give some of our better quality players a chance to play with the best of the bunch of the summer signings.

Aitor has also brought some players that have supposed quality about them but how much has passed them by with lack of hunger and just looking for a last pay day.

I have said before Quality should prevail over Quantity, in spite of some leaving we still have huge squad.

At the moment with the way Aitor is working i see no logic in the way he is going about things. I like any other Forest fan do want him to succeed, because it means Forest succeed but their are no signs of it happening.

5.) 11 Sep 2018 21:34:13
Day it again we were mid table with them, where have we been since??

6.) 11 Sep 2018 23:50:10
Just maybe with a full engine room Forest for once will not run out of steam after February?
Onward and Upward!

7.) 12 Sep 2018 00:00:33
I agree with a lot You say Stags Iโ€™m like you want AK to be successful
The midfield has been my worry from start of the season I donโ€™t think Watson has it anymore not sure if Colback adds much more and where is our playmakers that can give our forwards the ball?
I do think that we have brought in some quality but we are lacking the blend

Ff Osborn was no more than 15 yards out when he kicked one chance straight to the keeper, and when he sliced another chance it was not a awkward angle just left of the goal. Another game Osborn might put both away.

I thought you mentioned that Aitor wasted ยฃ21m, it is too early to say as far as Soudani and Carvalvo are concerned, like you say if Grabban gets a partner the goals will come for him, but very unlikely to happen.

What makes you think the players you mentioned you would have preferred would have been better, Grabban has Championship experience that has hardly held him in good stead this season. They have to fit in Aitor's style of play, would your choices?

Red always I personally do not understand why Aitor brought in Grabban to play him in a position does not suit him.

I think Soudani is a sound investment, he has desire a eye for goal as well as physically strong.

Carvalvo for me will come good once Aitor has a settled side and the player himself has acclimatised to a new country, a new team, possibly a new style of play to him.

My goodness Carlo.

Whatever we think about managers at a given time it does not mean that they should appease us, there are too many fans with differing opinions to appease.

Managers should be more flexible in their approach, they should play to their players strengths, and not swap and change players like disposable nappies but they are not employed to appease fans.
