After looking like it had stalled earlier the deal for Michael Antonio is back on

I was just wondering what would happen to the percentage sell on clause on a player if he was involved in a straight swop deal. If we were to swop the burnley man for Paterson with no money involved (I know this won't happen) what would be done about the Walsall sell on clause?

Theredz

{Ed002's Note - NF would get a percentage of the value assigned by an independent committee to the transfer - as all transfers have an assigned monetary value. That value would then be paid by the selling club. So if the sell on was 20% and the value assigned to the exchange was £1.8M, then the selling club would by NF £360k.}

We are interested in Luton Town starlet Lee Angol has rejected a new contract at Kenilworth Road and is set to leave the club without playing a game. Lots of interest from both the prem an championship an we are also set to approach Al-habsi formerly of Wigan who was released to trim the wage bill.

I assume this rumour has been started by Lee Angol's dad!?!?

Nottingham Forest are in the hunt for out of contract Swindon goalkeeper Wes Foderingham along with reading.

Theredz

1.) 29 May 2015 12:24:18
Don't know a lot about him but Swindon had a good season and you don't have a good season without a good goalkeeper. The only question is can he step up and be good enough for the Championship?

This week it has been reported by L'Expressiondz that Abdoun is a target for Greek sides AEK Athens and PAOK Salonika.

1.) 22 May 2015 13:22:36
Good news if true, the sooner we get shot of him, the better!

2.) 22 May 2015 16:59:49
I'll buy his ticket

3.) 22 May 2015 20:45:12
I'll drive him to the airport!

4.) 23 May 2015 11:45:01
All round sorted then I'll put my name down for any jobs to get him gone lol

5.) 24 May 2015 15:10:23
Happy to escort him onto the 'plane lol

6.) 26 May 2015 12:54:19
I'd be happier to escort him off the plane in Greece ;-)

Great news that Osborn is back in training today and will hopefully provide a bit more in midfield for us. I think Vaughan is improving every game while match fitness is regained and could be a great player for us this season in my oppinion as he is really class. Got absolutely slated by the fans but can be quality at this level. Is there anyone else who would prefer Micky Maynard on a pay as you play contract than the burnley lad?

Theredz

1.) 17 Aug 2015 13:25:53
You what! David Vaughn the little geezer in midfield with the ridiculous hairstyle who passes the ball sidewards or backwards? When he passes forwards he gives it away. Don't rate him at all. He'd pass the ball back if he took a penalty.

2.) 17 Aug 2015 15:54:33
I think Vaughan has improved in the last few games, and his tackling can be pretty crunching at times. He has the ability to sweep the ball out wide and is a good stand-by while we sort out our midfield. I fear he finds the DM a tough place. Ps from the look of it against Rotherham MM did a blinder at Left Back, but there wasn't much pace up front to attack him.

3.) 17 Aug 2015 17:00:06
To make a forward pass you need willing recipients for the ball.

This team under this manager is unlikely to move forward with pace and conviction flowing through the midfield.

This doesn't mean we will lose every game but it means a certain style of play.

This may not be what we would wish for but seems to be where we find ourselves.

If we ever get Reid fit this may change.

I may have missed something but can someone tell me why QPR have not been hit with a transfer embargo seen as they broke every FFP rule the year before last and still owe a £58 million fine. They are making some massive signing for quite a bit of money with people on high wages again but it dosent seem fair compared to other teams under the embargo. Yes I know the promotion saved them to a certain extent but surely if someone owes you nearly £60 million you would put them under an embargo.

Theredz

1.) 29 May 2015 11:02:08
Not entirely sure, but isn't it to do with QPR threatening, or actually submitting and official challenge to the legality of FFP? Until that's resolved they're technically not 'condemned'

2.) 29 May 2015 11:30:14
Suffolkred.

So if Qpr fail to win their appeal would they have to sell any players they buy before the appeal was decided ?

3.) 29 May 2015 13:08:44
No idea. was just suggesting why, at present, they are acting as it's business as usual and not under an embargo. How long would an appeal take? Ages possibly. the system isn't fit for purpose. We accepted the embargo without challenging its legality and we're stuck. If you say 'up yours' to the system, it seems you might get a stay of execution. Just personal opinion, I'm not privvy to the actual rules governing FFP and haven't researched them.

4.) 29 May 2015 13:13:16
No this happened with Barcelona as well, they knew they were going to have an embargo and then bought players while appealing the legality of the rules but then are under a transfer embargo now. That Is why Suarez was able to move, it is looking like QPR will have loads more problems again if they don't go up this year buying the Swindon lads for about £5mil and being linked with players like Carlton cole with an already massive wage bill.

5.) 29 May 2015 14:33:40
Theredz.

I can see where you are coming from, but as someone said to me Barcelona had an embargo for something else, and have a different governing body.

I do feel though it is wrong to be able buy players while appealing.

Forest do look to be facing a tough fight to land Adam Bogdan who's contract ends at the end of the season but has an offer on the table from Bolton to extend his stay.
The Reds could now turn their attention to another Bolton keeper, in Andy Lonergan, who has been told by boss Neil Lennon that he will not be offered a new deal.

Theredz

1.) 19 May 2015 23:37:01
Please no. Bogdan is prone to too many errors, do not rate him at all!

2.) 20 May 2015 23:40:43
Nor Lonergan he was pretty average at Leeds

16 May 2015 20:24:01
I'd like to hear what others think but with lots of players set to leave over the summer I don't think we will be too hindered at all without the presence of the two Newcastle bound lads. I think we got a great deal when we sold the pair and both have been pretty poor this season. I would doubt if either makes it as top class players in the prem with question marks over lasceles defending with his constant backing off and darlow who has been extremely disappointing in my eyes this season being more concentrated on his hair than the job in hand. I was really disappointed when df came in and replaced devris who in my mind deserved a lot more game time, more of a leader which our defence desperately needed and a top pro.

Theredz

1.) 16 May 2015 21:19:10
Lascelles has been poor for us of late but has the attributes and ability to be a very good defender. It depends how much work he is prepared to put in and how he applies himself.
Darlow is average at best, i really don't know what all the fuss has been about him other than he is young and a good looking lad!

2.) 16 May 2015 21:22:59
Totally agree. Darlow had a cracking season 13/14 and well deserved a premiership team coming in for him. The biggest disappointment was his loan back, his head wasn't in the game at all. Darlow has cost us more points than he's saved us, yes the defenceless suspect but he should of done better.
Far from the applause he got last March at the Ipoo stadium.
As for Lascelles, never rated him, glad to see him go. Thought he was a good bench player but nothing else.
Not sure Dorus is the man for us. Watched him last year at Sheffield United. And to be fair the bloke he was shocking, costing us the match. Lovely bloke! Don't get me wrong great leader on the pitch. But isn't great in the sticks.
If love Dougie to give Diminthe shout.

3.) 16 May 2015 21:47:30
Agree that I don't think they are serious losses as we have more than adequate cover in both positions. But disagree your assessment of them: yes Lascelles was disappointing but suspect he will mature and probably be prem standard; and I think Darlow has played well, not as good as his first season but still shows quality and potential and believe he can be a prem level keeper.

Agree re Devries except have a slight doubt re his ability on crosses - which I think is one of Darlow's strengths. But he does bring leadership/maturity to the team

Birmingham city are set to come in for tesche in the next few weeks having massively impressed in his loan spell. Personally I feel he is a great asset especially with Lansbury possibly leaving however he is on high wages.

Does anyone know how Birmingham can afford him I though they were skinny but they paid his full 25k a week wages? Possible a switch deal to be done.

Theredz

1.) 08 May 2015 07:23:26
I would keep Tesche.

2.) 08 May 2015 17:32:18
Brum are selling Demari Gray to Bournemouth for 5 million ish. They would then be able to buy Tesche. A tenner would do it for me.

Would be a great signing, good keeper but maybe more importantly a leader. Marshalled the back four very well which has been missing every since he left. Darlow never spoke enough and hopefully with Hobbs and camp our defence may finally be organised properly.

He signed a three year deal last year so will require a fee. Also we can't compete for players like this who have both prem and champ teams interested for wages anyway.

He signed a new contract till the summer of 2016. We are under an embargo!!!! Are you suggesting the embargo will be lifted or a loan deal or them to just release their number one so we can sign him? The most likely goalkeeper that will actually be realistic is Richard O'Donnell who looks like he will reject a new contract.

Most of the players being linked with us wouldn't be bought straight up NFFCDave it would be a loan initially then a fee when the ban is lifted. That's the only way we can do business with under contract players. I'm not saying there is truth in this particular deal but that is the suggested way people believe we will do business

Newcastle and Sunderland both interested while Shrewsbury are still desperate to extend the contract but he will wait till the summer to sum up his options

On Saturday Hobbs was left behind by jones on many occasions one of the biggest strikers in this league so I dread to think what will happen against quicker opposition. I'd be happy to see Hobbs go he is far too slow am I the only one who sees this? Looks like he runs in water even compared to mills who is far from quick. Also a point about Vaughn, I posted a couple of weeks back praising him for his improvement and saying he is a class act. I got absolutely slated and people were saying we must get rid but he continues to improve. Is he now starting to change people's mind?

Shrewsbury fully expect him to leave, they offered him a new contract at the end of last season and havnt heard from him since. The manager has stated that he feels it would be better for his development to stay but it is extremely unlikely that he will.

If you had two recognised full backs at the club under a transfer embargo are you seriously saying you would come out and say one was not in your plans? We can't let fox leave as we won't be signing three or four fullbacks this transfer window. Even if he doesn't rate fox that highly he still must stay as a backup.

At palace he said he was going to be scouring the continent like he has said when he joined us, similar position with little money to be spent and having to unearth jems. One of the unknown player he found and signed was jedinak who has been quality ever since he joined palace being arguably there best player over the past couple of seasons. You can't just fly to foreign places and suddenly see an abundance of world class footballers or otherwise it would happen all the time however it takes a long time! Be patient especially with our restrictions it won't happen over night.
