Sorry to bring this subject up again, but any updates on the Greek blokes take over of our once great club?

Trent End Trev

1.) 23 Mar 2017 19:47:33
Im sorry but I'm not able to read Greek, so can not tell you what the report said. It could have said something about a bakers dozen though.

2.) 23 Mar 2017 20:13:28
Been told from a good source that it's still on!
CARLO.

3.) 24 Mar 2017 11:21:01
Don't shoot the messenger, but heard a rumour from a reliable source that the American Consortium is also back on the scene.

4.) 24 Mar 2017 13:28:37
These reliable sources they not Tzatziki and uncle Ben?
I find daddies brown the most reliable? never let's the bacon down.

5.) 24 Mar 2017 17:22:55
And they say the old jokes are the best!
Actually in football there are no reliable sources.
CARLO.

6.) 24 Mar 2017 17:49:04
Just a bit of banter for a Friday
Was a bit cheesy, like red sauce with that
In holiday mode looking forward to coming back and watching real football instead of international nothing games.

7.) 24 Mar 2017 18:10:56
International nothing games.?

Those nothibg games bring in revenue for th FA, they help the manager in his selection process, and they are there to gel the players as a unit.

I know it is very unlikely but if England won the European Championships, and or the World Cup, those nothing games would have contributed to that.

If a player plays well for his country his stock also goes up.

8.) 24 Mar 2017 22:23:15
When fifa stops being corrupt and the FA are run by people who know and care about football then I'll start watching internationals again
We are looking forward to a blood bath of a tournament in Russia and a farce of a world cup in quatar
Soon we will have Chelsea ground holding60k spurs 60k Liverpool and Everton 60k West ham 60k man utd and city 60k andarsenal 60k then you've got the buitifull Wembley
Will we get the world cup no
And why? because we do it the English way of fair play when what you all

have to do is pay back handers for votes
When that changes I'll start being interested again
Should put all these little nations together let em play each other in their own groups and winners go through at least then they can enjoy the feeling of winning now and then instead of getting stuffed everytime
Like I say pointless games.

9.) 25 Mar 2017 08:17:29

Giving the World Cup to Quarta was based on money, I'm not saying it is right, corruption is never right but do you honestly think corruption does not exist outside Internationals.

Where there is is money to be made, there will always be corruption.

Anybody know if the signing of Lam has been announced officially. Nowt on club website. Cheers.

Trent End Trev

1.) 05 Jul 2016 16:44:50
No not yet, but Paul Taylor said in a recent interview we are waiting for international clearance, and will be a formality.

2.) 06 Jul 2016 10:03:10
Why is it taking longer than it did for Vellios. Same circumstances.

3.) 06 Jul 2016 12:32:15
Vellios came from Greece and therefore his international clearance was validated betweeen our FA and the Greek FA. Lam is coming from Holland and clearance will be subject to co-operation from the Dutch FA.

These two governing bodies may work in different ways and therefore timescales may be different. International clearance in general can take anywhere between a few days and a couple of weeks, there is nothing we can do but wait for the fuddy-duddies to do their job.

4.) 06 Jul 2016 14:02:26
its been held up because they can't work out why a Lam is coming to Nottingham and not Derby :)

5.) 06 Jul 2016 15:36:31
Clever 2 tone, very clever!

6.) 08 Jul 2016 11:52:06
Is it taking any longer? I read stories that we had signed Vellios over 2 weeks before it was announced.

12 Sep 2015 21:39:28
Can any of you red 'uns out there please tell us how many of the current loan deals have the bonus of 'an option to buy'. Cheers lads.

Trent End Trev

1.) 13 Sep 2015 01:04:41
Trent End Trev

Im not sure but under the ffp rules i do not think you can do that, having said that even if it was possible the better they play the more likely they will end up with a different team beause we would not afford to buy them.

2.) 13 Sep 2015 08:20:01
I believe the long term loanees (O'Grady and Oliviera) have a buy clause.

Think it extends to next summer, which if we can prove that we'll be under the losses (which we should be) then we can buy them.

3.) 13 Sep 2015 08:52:34
Could one of the eds clear up the buy option when under ffp?

{Ed002's Note - NF cannot invoke any options to "buy" players whilst the sanctions are in place.}

4.) 14 Sep 2015 10:32:11
If that's so Ed O Grady wouldn't cost much anyway and I'm sure we could get Oliveira for under 5 mil. Unless by some miracle we're promoted ;-) lol

{Ed002's Note - Not sure I understand, but nothing can be done until the sanctions are removed.}

I see Stoke City are considering the future of manager Mark Hughes. Think Karanka, Monk and Co would fancy that position over the one at Forest. So could be some time before a new manager is appointed and we are 2 days into the transfer window. Just thinking ahead. Thoughts anyone?

Trent End Trev

1.) 02 Jan 2018 20:18:33
The new manager will have a bit xtra in the Summer then, if he lasts that long.

2.) 02 Jan 2018 20:27:24
Better Atmosphere at The City Ground

3.) 02 Jan 2018 23:57:22
Yes give the job to Brazil our longest serving manager in 10 years 😏

26 Aug 2017 23:55:47
Take the rough with the smooth all of you. Just listen to you. We're 5 games in and moaning already. We're a job in progress, everybody knows that. As much as I hate to say it, Leeds will probably go on to win promotion this year. We can't win them all. It's early days for Gods sake. Take a chill pill people.

Trent End Trev

1.) 27 Aug 2017 00:57:32
One minute you are saying we are only 5 games in, the next you predicting Leeds to win promotion?

2.) 27 Aug 2017 07:46:38
5 games in and in the top six, club being run properly, manager talking to supporters, owner not. Considering where we were with one game to go at the end of the last season I reckon we are doing more than alright. COYR

3.) 27 Aug 2017 07:49:32
ABF, I did say probably. Many are tipping Middlesborough for promotion at this early stage, yet Leeds impressed me more, (oh that hurt).

4.) 27 Aug 2017 07:49:37
Well said Trent End Trev, some people are never satisfied, we all know that top six or promotion is just a long shot mid table is ok while MW sorts out his squad, we can't win every game, but i suppose the armchair managers think 🤔 we should they will be shouting for MW to be sacked if we lose a another game, for God's sake this is Forest we are talking about not Man United or Real Madrid, so get a grip and always support Forest 🌲😎

5.) 27 Aug 2017 09:35:08
Sure most people are more than happy with our start to the season and current league position.Its only natural to pick holes in a performance after defeat.Ive read the same posters heaping praise after wins as well.
As we've seen MW style of play means there won't be many draws this season which will please some.
Suppose points wise,win 1 lose 1 is better than 2 draws.

6.) 27 Aug 2017 10:31:39
Perks1. The difference is to some a defeat is the end of the world and relegation is bound to follow, and to others they like to choose their words carefully and suggest where the lads went wrong, some even suggest what to do to put it right and understand you can not win every game.

7.) 27 Aug 2017 12:33:45
Agreed,to some it is the end of the world.
Suppose posting straight after a game is not always the best thing to do.
After the last 5 seasons I'm more than happy where we are.

8.) 27 Aug 2017 12:57:53
lets not forget leeds are the inform team at the moment and look very good they got some big lads at the back, some of our players didn't show up yesterday it happens but i still have high hopes of this team MW is building, keep the faith my fellow reds

9.) 27 Aug 2017 13:08:14
Leeds are the inform team at the moment, before yesterday Forest had Won 3 out of 4 games, Leeds had Won 2 out of 4 games.

10.) 27 Aug 2017 18:24:10
Yep but not lost a game.
Their problem is home form when the onus is on you to go forward and break sides down,not sure they've got the all round squad for that.

12 Jan 2017 22:20:53
Spare a thought for our Mr 'Ed' who's going to be one busy chappie any day now. Hope you've been in training mate. Oh, happy days !

Trent End Trev

{Ed001's Note - actually the two of us who usually deal with the Forest site are both going away tomorrow! We are meeting up in Torremolinos before both going on a week's holiday to separate places. I will try and get on as much as I can like, but family takes precedence and I am going to be spending some time catching up with my best mate. He has leukemia, after managing to beat bowel cancer and skin cancer previously, so you have to make the most of those times you can just hang around with him just in case. So I apologise if it is not up to the usual standards for the next week, but the sites as a whole will be very shorthanded.}

1.) 12 Jan 2017 23:05:32
Ok Ed, so sorry to hear that, but give all our best wishes to your mate from all of us here in Forest land. On the other hand though, hope you and your family have a great holiday. You certainly deserve it after putting up with all of us moaners on this site.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Trev, I have faith in him to pull through this one as well. He has been in remission for a while, but he in remission from the bowel cancer when they found the leukemia, so you just never know what can happen.

This site isn't so bad to be honest, the moaners are something that are certainly not limited to Forest fans! Every bad result seems like the end of the world on most of the sites. No one ever seems to have a balanced view these days.

I just hope you go easy on Ed007, who will probably be the one bearing the brunt of the takeover stuff while we are both away!}

2.) 12 Jan 2017 23:07:14
Sorry to hear that ed my partners 2 best friends are going through cancer treatment as we talk it's a horrible place to be every where you turn or programme you put on is on about it its nice to come on here sometimes and forget about what is happening around you but then you forget it could be happening to people on here don't know what to say as you know chin up 😎

{Ed001's Note - cheers Skeggy. To be honest, my mate is not in as bad a place as many. He has been told he does not need a bone marrow transplant, which they feared he would do initially. They think he is in remission, so hopefully all will be well in time. It is just lucky I have been living abroad, as they only found it early due to him taking extra health tests to see if he was able to fly out and visit while getting over the bowel cancer. I am not sure if he is incredibly unlucky or incredibly lucky though. I mean his bowel cancer was being treated as an ulcer, then it burst and they found what it actually was and were able to save him. Normally it bursting would have been what killed a sufferer, but in his case it saved his life.}

3.) 12 Jan 2017 23:07:46
Wish your mate all the best and good luck 👍👍

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much.}

4.) 12 Jan 2017 23:38:07
Terrible stuff. Hope the wonders of modern medicine and amazing staff within our NHS can help. Love to all families involved and pray it can be helped

{Ed001's Note - thank you Luke I appreciate that, and I am sure he will too.}

5.) 13 Jan 2017 06:18:54
Sort of puts things into perspective really. heres a bloke who's having a horride time with a life threatening disease and people on here moan about our potential takeover taking a few extra days! life is too short to be nit picking about stuff you have no control over. Good luck to your mate Ed and let's hope the future brings him a healthy life from now on.

{Ed001's Note - thank you utf, it is true though, there are always worse things going on and it is very easy to lose perspective on that when it comes to football. I mean we have a genuine psycopath about to get his finger on the button to unleash nuclear disaster around the world! Things could be a lot worse, though hopefully the takeover goes through and he never presses it and we are all happy.}

6.) 13 Jan 2017 07:20:45
Best wishes to him Ed, thanks for all the good work. Don't forget Forest fans to give generously to all friends who raise money for charity to beat cancer and to support those who suffer from it.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Ihtlnotf. Even shortening your name doesn't make it short!}

7.) 13 Jan 2017 09:08:49
Best wishes to your friend and have a well deserved break. Forest Land will still be here when you get back and the reality will be same old same old for the foreseeable future even after the jigsaw pieces have been moved around the board!

{Ed001's Note - thank you Red. Hopefully the takeover will all be done and dusted and things will be a bit more cheery though!}

8.) 13 Jan 2017 09:39:05
My wife's a not a forest fan! However she is a Sister Nurse dealing with people just like your mate. Read your situation out to her, she says your mate must be "one hell of a fighter". And sends all her love and support. ". One day we'll beat this" Enjoy your well earned break!

9.) 13 Jan 2017 09:42:39
Have a nice well earned break Ed's. Really nice to see such heart felt messages on here. Best wishes to yours and Skegs friends who are battling a truly terrible illness and wishing them all speedy recoveries.

{Ed001's Note - thank you GK. And also thank you for reminding me to wish his friend's partners all the best! I got so carried away telling the story I forgot to add that to the reply. It is my age I think, I forget lots.

So Skegs, apologies for the lateness of this response, but my best wishes go out to your friends and their families and all that know them. It is a horrible thing to deal with and I just hope they can all come out the other side.}

10.) 13 Jan 2017 11:28:51
thanks both

Omg! just watched england players arrived back in blighty in the pouring rain talk about molly coddlled players staff on hand to hold umbrellas on them so they don't get wet before getting into a flash cars to be taken away can't have them mixing with joe public or waiting for casers on the carosels! just saying.

2.) 29 Jun 2016 07:34:05
Don't like to use this site to talk about England but that is so pathetic it's unreal. All need major reality checks. Send them in to the military for a week see if they still want their umbrellas. Makes me wonder why I like football, in fact i could take it or leave it when it comes to England and their international failures.

What was wrong with Smith ? Didn't see him do anything wrong. Yes he's learning his trade but improves with every game. What better way to gain experience.
