Nottingham Forest are looking at Britt Assonbalonga, maybe another striker to arrive at the CG?

True_Red_Don

1.) Its in the sunday papers today that we are stepping up our interest. Only problem is wouldn't peterborough make us pay a larger fee after the boyd fiasco!

{Ed034's Note - their chairman has said he would do business with us when asked on the bird site....register or log in please

2.) If we are interested then he would be stupid not to do business with us. need to get rid of rafik first. I would keep hendo and Cox and use Cox as a winger if needed. I still maintain that Cox needs Someone at the side of him and not to be up top on his own. if we get brit then it looks like a bit of rotation will be going on regards the front line.
Just wish this world cup would hurry up and end so we can get down to the serious business that is promotion.

3.) Would he pass a medical?

4.) A lot of my mates are season ticket holders at posh, the stories that I've been told throughout the season about Britt have been pretty negative. One of the scouts mentioned his attitude was poor and he is quite a disruptive influence in the dressing room. another friend was saying he is quite lazy and if it wasn't for the penalties he scored he wouldn't be as high in the goal scoring charts. I was also told that he is perhaps a league 1 player at best and the likes of Gayle, Mackail Smith & Taylor who all preceded him were all superior talents.

This would be another great signing, young with bags of potential and will be keen to prove himself at a higher level.33 goals in all last season, put that with the 2 strikers signed last week and what we already have and the only way is up!! COYR's

6.) Darren from peterbourgh you wouldn't be trying to put us off him would you

7.) I speak with a posh st holder and he says he is not all that. just sought our injuries out, add finnbogason and we are there.

8.) I think britt will cost way too much money, for me I would look elsewhere, but I would always follow posh in their transfer dealings especially up front, they always bag a striker who scores plenty of goals. also posh play attacking football, which surprise, surprise leads to lots of chances and goals.

9.) If Darren Peterborough comments are correct haven't we got enough disruptive characters in the dressing room alreay ie abdoun and debour so we buy another proble. Stuart is looking at a unified club

10.) I think 5m is way too much to spend on a player who is going to be a big gamble because that's what p'boro want, I really can't see this happening.

11.) Panels71, is this Alfred Finbogason, his price tag is somewhere round the £8 million mark as Celtic found out. Way out of our league. Another one prem bound Villa for a guess.

12.) IMO would much rather Wilson. Younger and looks far better. And poss cheaper. Still need pace on the wings tho. COYR

13.) I think that assombolanga is 2nd and cheaper choice to Wilson from Coventry, May be as good, however I wouldn't want to pay for his name on the back of my shirt!

{Ed034's Note - he certainly won't be cheaper. Peterborough are saying they want around £5m for him and Wilson wouldn't cost that much

14.) Didn't realize they wanted 5 million, not a chance of paying that, that would have bought Charlie Austin last season

15.) Darren peterborough, your dad didn't happen to pass a certain evertonian a poisoned chalice last year did he?

16.) I travel to watch forest week in week out, I have just passed on info from work collegues who watch the posh. Assombalonga They feel will be another Garner who has found his level at league 1. If this player was something special surely Watford would have put a re-sign deal in the transfer to Peterborough and would be keen to buy him back.

17.) Hooper is on the way to the city ground after World Cup! !

Hi Ed,
As an avid reader of this site I flabbergasted by the rubbish rumours that are posted and possible signings we are making or players we are selling. I think some of our fans are completely unaware of the complexity of what is involved in a player transfer with all the parties involved. The talk of Darlow and Co going for 15-20 mil makes me laugh. I think our fans are fickle and sometimes very negative, we have a very strong cohesive team who work hard together and we are only a couple signings away from being a strong contender to go up. I'm confident Billy and Fawaz are working hard to secure the right signings at the right price and all will be well. Remember there is 18 days left in this transfer window so have faith. Ps Ed you are a legend and must have the patient of a saint

{Ed034's Note - not sure about legend, just a fan mate, but I have learn to be patient since running the site

As a loan signing, Hunt. One of the best right backs at Forest for a long time. As far a perm signings. It would be a toss up between Burke and Macienne. It's early days though!

Henri is a vital player in this league and yesterday proves it. With the class lands has in delivering forwards with the right passes and his own contribution to goals makes him a player we can't afford to lose unless a really high offer comes in. His contribution over a season separates us from those teams challenging promotion. We have the firepower now let's not lose their service!

Landsbury has the greatest respect of SP. He'll want to have a good season with the reds, injury free and re pay the faith to the fans and manager. Expect a new conditioned landsbury this season playing just behind a front pairing breaking from midfield scoring lots of goals. SP favours a wing back system with three CB's and three in the middle of the park. Two target men up front.

I have to agree 6M is too good to refuse, regardless of his potential if we reach the Prem. With that kind of money we could purchase the 4 additions SP wants to complete the squad. One player won't make or break promotion! A strong squad will.

Wilson would be an amazing coup. We need quick young hungry goal scorers, players that SP can develop.
