Karankas going to need at least this transfer and summers window to stamp his mark on side. Few more out this window few more in
Get rid of rest of dross in summer.
Feeling optimistic.

It's a little worrying when pulis says forest have made no contact bout Clayton. Yet he's karanka number 1 target.
But he's letting backroom team deal with potential signings. While he concentrates on training.
Is their any money in pot. Doesn't help with Greeks saying nothing.
Little worried hope it's nothing.

1.) 27 Jan 2018 05:33:45
At the end of the day this team beat Arsenal and Wolves and have dominate a few sides this season. The team is good enough to get a top half finish no doubt as long as they hve good manager with good tactical knowledge and who can train players to work the tactics and system he wants. Karanka has said the squad is too big and is too much dead wood and he wants to shift players, it is hard to do deals in January but I am sure if after Saturday he feels we desperately need someone he will push on to make a signing but I think he would like to get rid of some too and knows this season is now basically practice and training for next season so no need to panic, in the summer with players out of contact it will free up wages, throwing around money is bad business and doesn’t work how many teams do you see who spend loads and then end up in trouble when they still finish in poor position with FFP

2.) 27 Jan 2018 07:59:50
He made his intentions clear by saying the squad will end the transfer window stronger than at the start of the window. So he clearly expects at least one signing to come through the door. So if this doesn't happen then you can only assume something hasn't quite gone to plan. Hopefully it's not false promises to AK from the owners.

3.) 27 Jan 2018 11:34:48
Team news for today late change, and going for youthful more attacking 4-3-3 formation,up top Murphy,Cahill, and Captain Mainwaring.🚑🚑🚑

4.) 27 Jan 2018 11:57:51
No Gaz he prob just meant that mills will be offloaded meaning the squad will be stronger.

5.) 27 Jan 2018 12:22:33
Allegedly he's Karanka's number 1 target. So say the media anyway. Nothing from the horses mouth though.

6.) 27 Jan 2018 22:27:28
Pullis is trying to sell its obvious so he is goading forest....

18 Jan 2018 18:44:18
Karanka has said he's been asked to build side to maybe make play offs. But if missing out to finish almost at playoffs and more to push on from there for next season. If this is true then he must have been given at least 5m to spend now on right players if available.

Vets forever

1.) 18 Jan 2018 20:31:42
No iffs about missing out we won't get near and 5 million is just about enough to bring a few scots south

2.) 18 Jan 2018 22:31:02
If the right players come in at right price.
I.e. Clayton 2m leadbitter 2m.
I'd try get jokic back for left back looked a decent player
Maybe Dawson centre back. I think this would set us up for rest of season and add again after clearout in summer.
Clayton not being picked so should. E available
Leadbitter is now getting games but contracts up in summer and is now 32.
Dawson contracts up in summer and might want to come home.
Jockic contracts up in summer.

3.) 19 Jan 2018 08:40:39
I honestly think best we can hope for this season is a top 10 finish.

4.) 19 Jan 2018 09:05:29
Maybe he hasn't bid for Clayton because he knows the wages he's on already and knows he can't offer the same?
Leadbitter the same premier wages, our owners want rid of high earners.
This could be a big problem for Karanka and who he'd like to bring?
As to actually who he can afford to bring in.

5.) 19 Jan 2018 09:38:46
reports stating Leadbitter has signed a contract extension at Boro so count him out
shame, he would have been a good player to bring in

30 Dec 2017 17:36:20
Warburton plan B is to do plan A better.
Said it himself. Post match.
Wanted him to succeed but needs to go.
O'Neil and Keane double act for me.
Anyone not giving his all. Keane would bloody sort them out.

Vets forever

1.) 30 Dec 2017 17:52:23
Not sticking up for him as I think it's time for him to go but he did not say that.
He said he had said that in the past hence why people say he has no plan B.
I still think he is stubborn and will not change, his style is all he is prepared to play but he did change it about today but too little too late for me.

2.) 30 Dec 2017 18:01:23
It doesn't matter a jot how many plans you have when they are all crap and none of them work!

3.) 30 Dec 2017 18:04:34
I can’t believe there are still people out there that are backing Warburton. Do they really think he should be allowed to spend more money on useless players in the January window because they will be no better than what we already have. Most of them will probably come from rangers

4.) 30 Dec 2017 18:07:05
Wouldn't have Keano, waste of time, but if O'Neill would come he would be outstanding.

5.) 30 Dec 2017 18:07:45
Red dog. Yeh he said it in past apparently
But teams he's managed in past have confirmed it also.

6.) 30 Dec 2017 18:21:18
Vets, I totally agree with you mate, just setting the records straight.
I still think he means it though.
Also in his post match interview I think he was nothing but sarcastic towards the fans that said he had no plan b which will do him no favours.
Loosing the respect of the players and fans very quickly.
I am on this forum on a regular basis and it's interesting to see how people are rapidly changing their opinions on him

28 Dec 2017 11:00:22
At home we need to play 2 up front, but until we sign a midfielder who can boss the midfield, can't see Warburton altering. We're too lightweight in middle.
Bridgcutt ok but small, Vaughan can't manage 2 games on bounce, Bouch not good enough.

On paper defence isn't bad; Licha, worrall, manchienne, troare. But no protection from centre mid. I'd say we need another centre back maybe Dawson hull contract almost up. Left back because troare injury prone. Centre mid we need a Joey Barton type of player. I don't want anymore players from Scotland Mickey Mouse league.

I’m so glad your not the manager then vets ☝️😀

2.) 14 Feb 2018 14:16:56
Well skegsy what's your preference??

3.) 14 Feb 2018 15:01:07
Karanka won't go 442 vets.

4.) 14 Feb 2018 15:46:13
See birtles is now questioning the tactics and saying we should go 442.
Well someone agrees with me that if he continues to play one up we will drop down the table even further.

5.) 14 Feb 2018 16:25:01
I think we all agree 442.

6.) 14 Feb 2018 16:44:29
Well pray tell who the second striker is going to be as Brereton's confidence is shot?

Are we waiting for the second Cummings?

7.) 14 Feb 2018 17:02:40
5 disagree with my post. But don't put alternative lol.

8.) 14 Feb 2018 17:33:03
It's poetry day vets.
So while most of us would like 442?
It's not something Karanka will do.
He only plays one up top
And so far it's been a flop.

9.) 14 Feb 2018 17:49:43
Red all three strikers confidence is shot should have kept walker clough and Cummings to give us that option

12 Feb 2018 09:26:15
We need to get behind karanka
He will sort this mess out.
We will survive because there's a lot teams worse than us. He's shipped out a lot of crap players and some on loan who might come back or be sold.
There's still a lot of players to go yet.
Some out of contract in summer others
He will get rid of if they don't show up rest of season.
Too many times in past unhappy players have caused unrest at forest and got managers sacked.
I feel that will end with karanka. It will be his way or highway. He will add the right players in summer. After he's seen who he wants gone. So let's get behind him on this sometimes bumpy ride. My only concern is. Now we are no longer light weight in centre
midfield. With Watson geddy colbeck bridgcutt. To choose from at home I'd like to go 2 upfront.

Vets forever

1.) 12 Feb 2018 10:10:43
we did go 2 upfront in the second half 3 at the back still didn't have a decent effort on goal very very worrying

2.) 12 Feb 2018 11:05:36
We willsurvive because their are worse teams than us?????
We are in deep deep stuff and i doubt on current form their is any team worse than us. No goal threat leaking goals and awfull performances, that is very hard to turn around. Probably like most a few battling draws would be very welcome. We also need the luxury of scoring a goal or two to take the pressure off the defence. Well AK if you still have the dressing room you must know how to kick start this crucial period in the clubs history. Wholesale changes will be risky but what realistic choice does he have???? AK seems to work on trust with the players. That is a two way street but its obvious it has worn thin now so AK get into them do your stuff and show us your metal and get us away from the trap door.

3.) 12 Feb 2018 13:02:09
Will he sort it?
Because he won promotion with Middlesbrough doesn't mean he can do it here?
I think too much is expected by the board in relation to progress and expectations of Marinakis is high.

The Championship is an extremely tough league to get out of as we all know.
With these players and the clubs current reputation for hiring and firing it will a long term task not a quick and easy one!

Could Warburton or Brazil have done any better? We will never know but a relegation battle is looking more likely and if it again goes to the wire I fear the worst that division 1 football is ahead with the lack of goals etc.

4.) 12 Feb 2018 14:44:01
and what teams might they be rutland

5.) 12 Feb 2018 16:07:34
South east red I was quoting from the OP hence the question marks. We are amongst if not the worst performing team currently in this league.

6.) 13 Feb 2018 10:05:49
I agree Rutland red we are a sight for sore eyes. goals don't exist, bad player choices again.
I don't get how a manager can play games with the same players who lost previously?
Krankie is playing Russian roulette.

11 Feb 2018 14:54:36
Can anyone see where the goals are going to come from.
Maybe Murphy if he stays fit. Should get a few.

Vets forever

1.) 11 Feb 2018 15:38:42
The opposition?😁😁😁

2.) 11 Feb 2018 16:12:29
Got to be more creative before we can score goals. Strikers can't score if the midfield aren't creating chances for them.

3.) 11 Feb 2018 16:48:03
Also physco with this system the midfield all have to score and be up there and not 20 and 30 yards away.
Other than Dowell, who's been out of form for two months, even the new recruits won't score goals, they are more defensive midfielders.
We don't score from corners either,so all in all its hard to see where goals will come from under this system

10 Feb 2018 18:55:19
8 players out 10 players in. It's going to take more than a couple of games to gell.
And already snipers are out.
Some of new players are not match fit.
Give it a couple more games and we will start to see improvements.

Vets forever

1.) 10 Feb 2018 19:21:14
Lol vets he's bought players in that haven't played for ages and of course there not match fit or not had time to put gel in there hair but any manager would of new that and the thing is he played the same old defence lol plus velios up front it's not the team that needs to be sorted Brazil managed in 2 games that Karanka can't in 6 and that's a team that as half gone because you said they were crap the next 4 games are all 6 pointers we lose them then hello league one terrible management at the minute he needs to sort it and quick because results keep you in a job no matter how famous or great you are in 👆We trust

2.) 10 Feb 2018 19:58:30
Hope he's not allowed to waste any more money shopping In the soccer dole queue.
It's blatantly obvious they are unfit
Enough enough on that one.
Karanka needs to sit down with his first team analyst and watch that game and then go and put it right on the training ground.
No more players sort the tactics and morale of the team out and then send them out in the right frame of mind to win.

3.) 10 Feb 2018 21:43:35
Why bring in players that are not ready? Absolute suicide. By the time they are ready the confidence and atmosphere will be zapped. You can only get match fit by playing. Hence velios needs game time oh and some service.

Obviously not there today but it sounded turgid. I knew as soon as i saw the line up it was the same old. AK is losing us. The priority was the defence, keeper smith was good, just needed more protection. You cannot have your captain speechless and so uninspirational as mancienne. That team needs a leader, a rudder. So the fact that AK after 5 matches put that back four out again is mind numbimgly stupid. Cash and dowell?
What the hell is going on?

4.) 10 Feb 2018 22:00:35
Not a Karanka fan then Rutland?
Don't blame you mate. Clueless

5.) 11 Feb 2018 00:04:28
Ff79 i am just numb with disappointment. Cannot believe that team he put out today. I know we will never agree on warburton but my god it has got worryingly shambolic very quickly with little to no inspiration.

6.) 10 Feb 2018 19:34:09
RIP Liam Miller ✝️✝️✝️

7.) 11 Feb 2018 02:38:04
FF79 we all get your frustration but perhaps saying it once is enough. If I'm not mistaken AK lost his first 5 at Middlesbrough, managing to get them promoted with a very good win rate. We were let down today by some lightweight and careless play, the supposed man of the match being the worst offender. Some good players have come in but need a couple of games to get fit and gel. Have patience and perhaps take the blinkers off a bit.

8.) 11 Feb 2018 10:57:28
Upper T we are not Middlesbrough... We are forest.

9.) 11 Feb 2018 11:18:03
FBB, yes I get that. However, he was very well thought of and did a good job.

09 Feb 2018 13:41:05
It's a shame Dawson can't terminate his contract with hull. And become a red.
See warburton got bitter. Facts are he was given plenty time money. BOught crap mainly from Scotland. didn't know his best 11. Had no plan b. Needed to go. End of.

Vets forever

1.) 09 Feb 2018 14:30:59
He wanted to bring in a load of young players, and build a strong team for the future, in the interview he seemed to think regardless of results he would get a year and a half to achieve that aim.

I do not like to be over critical of managers, but to think that is stupid.

2.) 09 Feb 2018 14:36:08
Im glad ak has sorted things out those who were at the dreadful preston match saw complete unacceptable rubbish i was watching ak first he was in the technical area shouting instructions players took no notice so he sat back down and got his note pad out started writing down notes i think the players fate was then sealed their and then can't fault him.😕

3.) 09 Feb 2018 15:19:38
Lets hope ☝️As got things sorted now because it’s a big couple of 6 pointers coming up and there’s no time for this we’re a work in progress or we’re a team in the making crap points on the board please from tomorrow you’ve been in the job a lot longer than some of our previous managers so less of talking the talk on the pitch get on with your job else you will be walking the walk like the rest of our ex managers 😀☝️

4.) 09 Feb 2018 15:51:22
Skegsjay, do we need the points badly, yes we do.

People were saying we were a work in progress after 9 months of Mr Warburton.

So after a matter of Weeks into the job, and 10 new players how can you not say we are a work in progress. ?

Why would we waste 4 plus million on a keeper. Smith would be ok if we had a defence in front of him.
Plenty other keepers we can bring in for a lot less.

Linked with Andy hunt jack Colbert. Possibly good loans.
Clayton permanent
Inggs is only getting bit of sub time at Liverpool. Would be a good loan target.
