Spent this evenings game in exec box with Paul Hart and his son Jamie courtesy of Mike West so picked up a few titbits. Forgive me if this has been mentioned before but the interesting one for me was the collapse of the deal for the Leicester keeper. It was nothing to do with FFP or anybody at Forest messing up. Basically, Leicester were going to pay half his wages but in return for that they wanted Forest to promise he would be no.1 and play every game which obviously DF couldn't agree to. Just thought I'd clarify as the club came in for a bit of stick for this one.

1.) 18 Aug 2015 23:21:40
People don't want to hear that wilderbeast.why couldn't we just come out and say that tho?

2.) 18 Aug 2015 23:22:08
Were the prawn sarnies any good? 😊 nice bit of info, I can't see why the club haven't cleared this up though? It should never have been announced if it wasn't finalised and if fester moved the goal posts (and to be honest it would make sense to pretty much demand that he played especially if they were paying such a bug chink of his wages) why wouldn't either club let that info out? It would make sense to both sets of fans.

3.) 19 Aug 2015 00:53:19
Maybe a club with dignity don't want to expose a club who they may want to deal with in future. We don't know all the ins and outs. Doubt we want to half the time. Didn't work. Move on. Why do so many reds look for some sanctimonious reason. We aren't the x files. Someone doesn't sign, he doesn't want to. We seem to look for some hidden agenda all the time.

4.) 19 Aug 2015 01:10:39
Based on de vries saves tonight. We have the best #1 already here

5.) 19 Aug 2015 02:04:57
I am not a De Vries fan, but even I stood up and applauded 2 very very good saves.

Maybe he needs game time?

Thought Oliver Burke did well and Jorge Grant showed some nice touches.

The effort of the players must be complimented.

6.) 19 Aug 2015 07:11:58
Luke-he was announced as a signing on a season loan, either he hadn't signed therefore it shouldn't have been announced or fester moved the goal posts, which is out of order-hows he meant to keep goal if the goal posts keep moving? 😊 no matter of dignity here, just stick to the facts and nobody can really moan.

Here's another couple of interesting but completely irrelevant snippets from my dinner with Psycho the other night. He has recently applied for the vacant managers job for the Finland national team and Jamie Mackie was the worst technically inept player he's ever coached.

Wilderbeast

1.) 09 Aug 2015 16:18:08
He was sacked as manager of: Nottingham Forest.

He based a whole season on injury prone players staying fit, so why is anything he says relevant?

2.) 09 Aug 2015 17:36:47
Which is why I mentioned the word "irrelevant" in my post although some fans might find it interesting. I did !

3.) 09 Aug 2015 18:41:22
Pearce, and anything he says is boring, only you and uptheforest might find what he says interesting.

4.) 09 Aug 2015 19:07:23
Wilderbeest: when the divas have gone, and the club is properly run and with a different owner, Psycho will be back.

5.) 09 Aug 2015 20:28:56
Funny that bsered. Pearce did say he would like to come back one day leading a fans consortium and have Dyche and Woan as managerial duo although everybody on the night took it as a tongue in cheek comment. I must say that there is one thing that did shine through on the night which none of the Pearce critics could ever take away from him, and that's the fact that Psycho loves this club as much as any of us. For this alone he will always have my utmost respect !

6.) 09 Aug 2015 22:12:26
Cracking coach, poor manager. Still love the bloke

08 Aug 2015 20:29:29
Psycho told me the other night he thinks we will struggle to bring back Gardner due to interest from other clubs prepared to buy !

Wilderbeast

1.) 08 Aug 2015 22:09:33
I don't think he is fit until September so we may get lucky with transfer window shutting and loan window opening then its up to the player but villa may then want to do a loan until january to then see if they can sell him as his deal runs out 2016 i think.

2.) 08 Aug 2015 22:18:34
I don't think AV want to sell, do they?

3.) 08 Aug 2015 22:51:33
What other clubs have come out and said they want Gardner no club has put a bid in for him so I think we have a good chance of bringing him back

4.) 09 Aug 2015 00:02:27
Gardner injured until September, I don't think a club will buy an injured player this window

5.) 09 Aug 2015 01:23:32
Lets hope Psycho is wrong, it has been known.
According to a few Villains i work with he is nailed on for a return to Trentside.

6.) 09 Aug 2015 07:40:10
Heard he's injured, won't be back fully firing on all cylinders until October, we will get him on loan, then will have an option to buy in 2016. The loan deal will happen, the buying part will depend on us having the money in the summer or if any other clubs will be interested. Need him now really to cover the injured Tesche.

7.) 09 Aug 2015 08:18:58
Gardner is out of contract in the summer so no need to buy him just set a deal up to sign him when his contract ends.

8.) 09 Aug 2015 11:40:44
And what happens if a team offer money for him at Xmas as Psycho hinted upthewoods ?

9.) 09 Aug 2015 12:50:33
If we got him on a season long loan in sure there will be a clause in the contract that if a team come in with a money offer they can re call him just like hull did with Hobbs.

14 Jul 2015 19:57:02
Robert Stillo. Canadian international trialist goalkeeper ? Nope, me neither !!!

Wilderbeast

1.) 14 Jul 2015 20:33:33
Just read up on his stats canadian 24 yr old 6ft 2. that's as good as they get lol was at genoa but got loaned out played 10 games in 2 years on loan, then went to parma. got loaned out to perugia 2013-14 and played 5 games. that's all wiki has on the lad

2.) 14 Jul 2015 21:07:36
At least DF did his Italian homework this time and checked he spoke English before watching him!

3.) 15 Jul 2015 12:58:17
He might be from Quebec, so his English might not be that good either.

4.) 16 Jul 2015 15:36:13
Here is some background on Roberto Stillo. Huge under the radar Talent which would help the Reds by time and as a free agent, they have nothing to lose! Ask the players and coaching staff about his skill set and they will confirm. Like the refs at the moment unwilling to give him a shot, he backed up world class keepers at Genoa like Sebastian Frey , Eduardo and lastly Mattia Perin who is the Italian. National team 3rd and slated to be the next #1. They went through youth and 1st team together and they were both coached since age of 15 under GianLuca Spinelli , now Italy's keeper coach! Robert was born in Mississauga Ontario , not Quebec so his English is perfect Lol! He is also fluent in Italian after 8 years in italy. His heart and desire to play and work ethic, is second to none and would be honered to fight for the Reds to get to the top. Nothing to lose for the team, everything to gain! Give him a shot and he will not disappoint!

5.) 17 Jul 2015 09:53:20
Sounds like a good pitch from his agent?
Let's hope he is not "Stillo" between the posts!

6.) 17 Jul 2015 12:47:03
Hi Redinexhile,
Just get the feedback on him from camp and the results speak for themselves. Guess who will be in net tonight in friendly against the Reds?

30 Dec 2014 18:44:04
Just to confirm, Jack Hunt has gone back to Palace and is to be replaced for the foreseeable future by the returning Greg Halford.

Wilderbeast

1.) On a more positive note Eric Lichaj has signed an extension on his existing contract!

2.) On an even more positive note. Nope

3.) Positive lol

4.) If we could create a left footed clone we would be rejoicing!

5.) Oh well, at least we've got another striker if Halfords coming back! Remember last year when Davies played him on his own up front with 5 forwards on the bench? Fair play to him though, he always gives his all, he might get a few games, get on the end of Fox's "through balls"

6.) I thought Lichaj had two left feet

7.) Pk1 we laugh but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him play ahead of Britt!
That would be the end for me and SP I'm afraid.

8.) Thought as time went on that Jack Hunt was not as good as he appeared when he first arrived so the right decision has been made. Halford always gives his all and can play almost anywhere you ask.

9.) Halford is a good player. What's up with you all?

10.) Halford with his long throw ins will be great, at least we will be able to get the ball in the goal box & then you never know we may get a goal

11.) Behave!

12.) I know Halford is a good player. It's Lichaj I've got a problem with !

13.) Lichaj is too!! Good grief!

14.) Halford is good saw him score against Royals' last season we would have won but i think it was Abdoun wasting time that added about 5 minutes extra time they got an equaliser,if i remember he scored a good few headers and saved us several times,he has also played CM so give him another run

15.) And to think, the answer has been under our noses all this time! Bring back Halford and up the league we will go, blimey.

16.) We were higher in the league last season when he was in the side !

17.) There's the answer Fred,he gets on the end of Foxes hoof-ball LOL 😊

18.) Halford turns slower than a Bartons Bus

19.) 02 Jan 2015 15:43:41
The same greg halford that's just rejoined brighton on loan. that's that rumour done lol

28 Feb 2016 17:09:38
Skegsjay talks about negative boring football so I just wondered which players, out of the current players available, do we expect should be providing us with the exciting attacking football he craves?

Wilderbeast

1.) 28 Feb 2016 18:36:49
Wilderness the team itself is full of average players like I've said before in my posts but no less average Than the teams above us like Preston Brentford Ipswich there's nothing wrong with the players it's the way he sets the team up to defend and try and Nick a goal that's ok away but when your playing like that at home lol you get all you deserve it's your opinion if you think dougie is doing a good job and mine is as I said from day one probably one of the worse managers forest have ever had.

2.) 28 Feb 2016 19:17:07
Obviously if fit, I would like to see Mendes and Burke on the wings running at people. Maybe give the young lad McDonagh a go up front alongside Oli.

3.) 28 Feb 2016 19:37:30
Sorry perks but Burke is not available and having watched McDonagh a few times this season he is nowhere near ready for the championship in my opinion. The point of my post was to highlight the problem DF faces. Take yesterday for instance, I'm clueless as to how on earth he's supposed to play this entertaining expansive attacking football that we all crave with the mediocre players he has at his disposal?

{Ed001's Note - he could try coaching them into passing and moving? It does not take world class players to play good football.}

4.) 28 Feb 2016 20:39:20
You can't polish a burd Ed.

5.) 28 Feb 2016 20:40:06
Sure I've read somewhere Burke is available next game.

6.) 28 Feb 2016 21:52:41
Would be nice for a manager to play the same 11 without pratting around all the time I know you have to take injuries into account but surely by he should know what his strongest 11 are.

7.) 28 Feb 2016 22:25:21
Ibelieve/ Wilderbeast. The second part of last season and this you keep droning on about how average our players are (only when we lose though, their obviously above average even by your standards when winning or drawing as the average thing seems to stop at these times) .
The players are capable of stringing a series of results together as shown last season and this. They are no more average than Huddersfield or Bristol City yet both games were lost. Average players or management deficiencies? Is it possible the manager underestimates more lowly opposition and cannot alter tactics accordingly? I know which theory i believe to be true and it ain't the same as you.

8.) 29 Feb 2016 08:57:07
Think your right when it comes to managerial tactics or lack of motivation again I don't think he instills that in players, to be honest sick of hearing about ffp, injuries, with the players we've got should be more than capable of beating most sides not all down to df at the end of the day the players, are on the, pitch and should shoulder criticism if its due and like most of if we preformed that badly in our job wed be sacked.

9.) 29 Feb 2016 10:39:26
I thought DF was spot on with his pre match interview where he said was trying to get the players to shorten their passing.

He is trying but success doesn't come over night. We have been playing a certain way to build confidence, it has worked! Now we are trying to let the brakes off a little and it isn't working because some of the organisation and discipline we formerly had goes out of the window.

Like I said some weeks ago. Midfield isn't up to the job at the mo.
All hard workers and no flair.
Lots of work to do but it's not all DF's fault? He's trying to build something and sometimes you take a bit of work to get out of the ground.

We have a solid base and need to press on but don't be expecting big changes from Fawaz. DF will be here for the foreseeable.

Our passing has been as good as it has since BD first tenure and whilst were not getting it to the front men we are trying.
Players like Vaughan are thriving. Highest number of tackles in the league. Young lads like Walker are getting a go but are proving it's too early for them.

What else do you want DF to do?
Everytime he says he's going for a win we lose. When we play counter attack we don't.

This season is finished so time to rebuild and make a plan for next season. Think the managers done an excellent job under the circumstances and whilst it's not always pretty you do have to admire some of the work and organisation on the pitch.

I put The poor performance in the last match down to the players knowing they have no chance of getting in the playoffs. Same thing happened last season before we ended up mid table.

10.) 29 Feb 2016 20:12:23
I've missed you Fred. Now come on, i'm certainly consistent if nothing else pal. Remember our sparring over Lichaj and Antonio? Win, lose or draw I will always think we have an average squad and yes, so have Huddersfield and Bristol and they beat us. But so have Leeds and we beat them. Put two average teams against each other and anything can happen. At the moment Forest have mostly average players with one or two above average players. Unfortunately the above average players are the ones who are currently injured. I find it laughable when some posters make claims like " we've still got enough quality in our side to win certain games "

11.) 29 Feb 2016 22:07:46
Yeh i remember haha.
Here's my take on our team at present
De Vries, Mancienne, Vaughan, Gardner,
Cohen, Ward, Oliveira all well above average. Lichaj slightly above average lol. Mills, jokic, Tesche, Blackstock, Walker all average. Not making a judgement on young Burke yet as too early.
Most of the championship (top 6 down to bottom 6) can boast similar squad levels so for me the deciding factor has to be the management/ coaching staff.

06 Feb 2016 22:46:43
Christ on a bike. Some posters on here are more defensive than Dougies tactics!

Wilderbeast

1.) 07 Feb 2016 11:07:37
Don't judge us! You don't know us! You'd be mad if you were me! :)

Dooughie doughie doughie can't you see sometimes your football hypnotizes me.

Enjoy your Sunday and the win folks.

2.) 07 Feb 2016 11:35:36
Some say our club is a bit of
farce!?
Who cares!
We went to Elland Road
And kicked Leed's A***!

05 Feb 2016 20:36:18
Ed, seeing as I'm back, can you tell me how I can apply for the vacant editors job you mentioned earlier today? Obviously being a well respected contributor to this site, with my sensible balanced views and my intelligent witty posts, I surely must qualify as the best candidate to take on such an important and life changing venture.

Or on the other hand, I could just carry on posting crap and winding Fred up?

Wilderbeast

{Ed033's Note - Hi Wilderbeast, being an Editor is not a job, it's being an unpaid volunteer. There is a contact form at the bottom of this page if you're still interested.

1.) 06 Feb 2016 03:02:59
Is Ed034 still around?

{Ed001's Note - no.}

2.) 06 Feb 2016 12:01:24
Haha Beast. You've finally admitted it's mainly crap you keep spouting.
Are you putting Ibelieveinmiracles back to bed now?

3.) 06 Feb 2016 12:25:25
Fred?

20 Aug 2015 20:33:03
Hope this Pinollos geezer at left back turns out ok because Mancienne is not the answer. A few on here suggesting he's ok and I agree defensively he does alright but full backs need to be so much more than that these days. Can't remember him overlapping once the other night and contributing anything worthwhile going forward.

Wilderbeast

1.) 20 Aug 2015 22:01:27
Defending wise mancienne is possibly our best but i do agree he lacks attacking intent to be at left back but a few times the other night he cover the centre backs superbly

2.) 21 Aug 2015 10:06:56
That is because Mancienne is not a full back
He is a central defender or better still a sweeper
He got his reputation from playing that for Wolves and Chelsea. IMO would have a great pairing in Mill/Mancienne or Hobbs/Mancienne with a decent left back and a good right back

19 Aug 2015 20:20:09
Fantastic news if Lansbury staying put but I thought the idea was to part exchange him for the Burnley striker which was why we pulled out of signing Frey. What now ? I'm confused. Surely a centre forward is still a priority. Apologies to all you romantics out there but Blackstock and Walker ain't going to score enough goals !

Wilderbeast

1.) 19 Aug 2015 21:01:05
Can't tell weather I'm more happy about Lansbury staying or the fact we won't have to watch that donkey juke up front for us.
Don't be suprised if we pull off a very good signing over the next week or two.now is the time to dispute ffp so we can get a couple of loans in,not to start spending millions on fees then wages on top.just small loan fees.

2.) 19 Aug 2015 21:14:33
We won't be able to sign players as all the transfers go through the FA and unless they sanction it. it doesn't happen

3.) 19 Aug 2015 21:17:53
Quite right up the F.

Any thoughts on who we might sign?

4.) 19 Aug 2015 21:28:19
We dodged a bullet with that rumoured swap deal. His scoring record is well below average and he ain't scored for Burnley in27 matches.
Agree with the Beast, Blackstock needs to many chances to convert one and while young Walker will only improve with time,we can't expect him to lead the line and produce the goods week in week out.
How long is Fryatt out for?

5.) 19 Aug 2015 21:55:30
Sorry I didn't mean a signing I meant a loan signing.

6.) 19 Aug 2015 22:31:37
red Fred,

For a long time I understand.

Not responding to treatment - pitiful signing - although I thought it was a proper bit of business at the time.

7.) 19 Aug 2015 22:32:31
I know you meant loan, question still stands pal?

8.) 19 Aug 2015 22:45:31
Cheers 2star. Yeh Fryatt was never going to be prolific but is a useful squad player.

9.) 20 Aug 2015 06:55:34
I don't know who the player will be but just got a feeling we have something up our sleeves.

10.) 20 Aug 2015 16:04:27
When likes of Bristol City are offering £7 or £8 millions for centre forwards and being turned down it goes to show how difficult it is for Forest to sign someone who can come in and score goals straight away. Good to get cover in midfield but won't help if goals hard to come by.
