I'm quite excited about this.

I have heard we made an enquiry for Lewis Baker of Chelsea. I understand Chelsea are keen on a 2 year loan, with Chelsea paying a percentage of his wages. However, there is also interest from other Premier League and Championship clubs.

The only thing that may be of benefit at Forest, Is Chelsea are keen on him playing first team football week in week out.

I do think personally however, this may be on the basis that we sell / loan other players first, as reported previously.

1.) 28 Jul 2017 21:41:43
Well it is a rumour site😀😀.

2.) 28 Jul 2017 22:04:35
Not sure what that is meant to mean, but was on loan at Vitesse for 2 years, finished with 15 goals from midfield last season in Eredivisie. Plays for England Under21 and Chelsea want him out on loan for extended period in England, as cannot offer first team football. They believe he has a future at the club. Chelsea want a Championship club to give him the edge as competitive and can provide first team football.

I've done some research when I was told this and add's up on both fronts from what is being said by both clubs. Baker's name has specifically come up in conversation by MW according to my source and from the wording and previous intel, I'm certain this has happened (enquiry) .

In my opinion, this would be the marque signing of the summer! Looks to me like a few things would have to be sorted out and cannot guarantee the player would choose us over another club.

Well if it does happen, I'll come back and make you eat your words Forestforever79.

3.) 28 Jul 2017 23:05:42
Well the breadman should know a good BAKER 😂😂😂.

4.) 28 Jul 2017 23:07:59
for me that would top gardner, irvine, anyone else we've been linked with. did well with vitesse last year, would be a great signing.

5.) 29 Jul 2017 00:00:32
Alberto, chill my friend
To be fair all of your rumours have not actually done very well, to be fair.
So I'll have a quick choke now, Don't want to spill too much.
It's 911 if worried?
Sorry mate but find it funny 😂😂😂.

6.) 29 Jul 2017 07:55:32
Your typical negative statement. I gave you Bouchalakis first on here before anyone else, finer detail of Taylor deal and when it would happen, plus players out.

There are a lot of if's and but's with this, but we HAVE made an enquiry. IMO, we should do everything possible to make this happen before someone else steals a March.

7.) 29 Jul 2017 09:19:53
Have I missed something? Who is this Taylor signing?

8.) 29 Jul 2017 09:23:25
I wouldn't be against Baker coming in. The only concern i have is his performances in the recent under 21 tournament. I watched every England match until they were knocked out on pens. England had a good tournament and there were a lot of good individual performances from the English lads. Baker was highlighted by the commentators and analysis as being dissapointing and anonymous in pretty much every game. I agreed with what they were saying. He also plays the attacking mid/ behind the striker role. So would we want Clough/ Osborn/ Brereton playing there or a young Chelsea loanee?

9.) 29 Jul 2017 11:46:00
To be fair Everyone new Bouchalakis was on trial so you don't win any investigative awards there Miss Marple.

MW was either going to find him good enough or not, wasn't exactly a surprise:)

10.) 29 Jul 2017 11:59:17
I was wondering who Taylor was too red.
I "tinker" there isn't one. 😂😂😂.

11.) 29 Jul 2017 12:21:08
Forestforever. You "Pun-Slinger" you! 😂.

12.) 29 Jul 2017 18:16:16
Did your mate Taylor get a game today Alberto?

27 Jul 2017 21:46:43
Forest prepared to sell Ben Osborn but want £6.5m. Newcastle offered £5.75m at beginning of window which was turned down. Don't know much about the reported Derby interest, but there has been other bids.

I heard we WERE interested in Sam Clucas, ironically Newcastle have turned attention to Clucas who is valued at only £4m, instead of Osborn.

Any deal for another midfielder may only come after we offload existing player (s) . Prepare for Stojkovic to leave on a free, Walker, Iacovitti and Evtimov on loan and Osborn to be sold by the end of the window. My source says Forest don't know if we'll be able to offload Lica!

alberto219

1.) 28 Jul 2017 05:48:50
Interesting postalberto219.

2.) 28 Jul 2017 07:25:09
The same Sam Clucas we could have got for a couple of hundred grand when he was at Mansfield.

3.) 28 Jul 2017 07:52:56
I don't think we should go for Clucas, his hair will clash with our home kit too much.

24 Jul 2017 18:39:48
I'd first heard this about two months ago, seems that Lica's agent is still wanting part of his remaining year of contract to be paid up, so that he can take a reduced wage at Estoril.

Stojkovic expected to cancel the last year of contract like Perquis and find another club. Red Star Belgrade apparently one of interested clubs.

alberto219

1.) 25 Jul 2017 06:18:33
Apparently perquis was doing the same! so don't believe everything you hear or see.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 07:08:28
It was us who went and got these players and gave them silly contracts, i don't blame them for wanting what they signed for, can any of us honestly on here say we wouldn't do the same? They got no loyalties with Forest as its just a job.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 07:55:20
Well put Andy, the clubs we love are just an employer of an employee and the employee and their agents ensure the employer acts within terms of contracts etc. No different to any other walk of life I'm afraid.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 08:18:31
Players from abroad do not come to England because they like the country, people or football, they come for the money, cause they can get more here than I need their own country. Just look at the stupid money Man City are paying in transfer fees alone. But the stupid thing is the clubs are paying the money.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 18:01:21
Correct just like the mass exodus to Saudi Arabia in the 70's and 80's.

24 Jul 2017 18:15:33
Seen on a random story that MW interested in Juan Carlos Paredes of Watford. Similar in style to Hilberto Perreira, he was recently on loan at Olympiacos (since Jan) when MW tried signing him at Rangers.

alberto219

1.) 24 Jul 2017 20:53:24
Old news. I think we would have signed him by now if MW was interested?

2.) 24 Jul 2017 22:04:11
Yeah I saw that in a paper a months ago. wouldn't be a bad signing. We need fullback cover certainly at right back as only have Lichij (Cash and Manchienne maybe if desperate) .

24 Jul 2017 13:18:38
Andreas Bouchalakis to be offered deal after successful trial. Not sure if this will be one year loan or two year deal (undisclosed) from Olympiacos.

alberto219

1.) 24 Jul 2017 14:12:54
Didn't see the Mansfield game but he looked pretty good in the county game.

2.) 24 Jul 2017 16:02:08
Was very good in both. Uses the ball well and doesn't try to do too much when in possession. Will be a solid signing.

3.) 24 Jul 2017 17:28:32
Went to both games, thought he was always looking to do something positive with the ball and kept it simple when he needed too. 2 games hard to judge but MW knows what he's doing. Solid signing I reckon.

What are peoples thoughts on summer signings? Been a while since I posted on here but keen to get opinions.

Whilst at times we've looked great this season, I think Coops will want some added quality that will improve us a level or two next season and play his style of football.

I'd like to see some of our loans signed permanently as a start:

Henderson, Renan Lodi, Felipe all need a contract for me, essential players in keeping us up.

I'd like to see someone like Victor Lindelof and Djed Spence signed as well as a new contract for Aurier. If we can't sign Henderson, I know its controversial but I've always rated Kasper Schmeichel. Toffolo, Cook have been great servents but I feel we could have more quality. Aurier, Spence, Williams, Renan Lodi and Richards would provide significant depth.

Midfield. Mangala has looked quality the past few weeks, but I'd like to add some quality and experience perhaps Fabinho or McTominay at the expense of Colback, O'Brien, Frueler, Kouyate, Shelvey. Also still keen on Garner to play in midfield or to swap out with Danilo or Yates. If we have great ambition which we know the club have, could we tempt a Xhaka or Kroos with our fan base at WFCG and offer the captains armband?

For me I'd love to see Antonio back at Forest. And a Batshuayi or Aubameyang to give competition to Awoniyi and Woods (who should only be used as a impact sub)

alberto219

1.) 25 May 2023 19:44:06
What's up mate your wifi gone down n can't get on FIFA

Kroos Xhaka Bats Auba Fabinho etc we not be shopping in that market!

2.) 25 May 2023 20:34:49
No we're in market for players like wood freuler shelvey etc ?.

3.) 25 May 2023 20:43:18
Felipe contracted for another year alberto.

4.) 25 May 2023 21:58:13
Might get something from wood, decent pro. think shelvey will be a nightmare to shift.

Should never gone for either.

5.) 25 May 2023 22:45:33
Good luck with getting anything out of wood.

26 Jul 2017 08:39:03
Luton would not sell either James Justin or Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu for anything less than £4m (JJ - £2.2m and P-RM - £1.8m) .

Maybe why we have gone for Darikwa instead of JJ. I imagine this has has ended our interest in both players.

alberto219

27 May 2017 00:58:09
Not a rumour, but I'd like to see us interested with some experienced PL players who are out of contract this summer;

Shay Given (GK coaching / player role and to nurture Jordan Smith)?
Zeki Fryers (LB and great permanent replacement for DP. Didn't get game time for Palace but think he would do a gray job ins championship)?
Damien Delaney (CB and very experienced. Would be great for Joe Worrall and no doubt slower as he is aging. Again, think he could do great job in Chanpionship)?
Joe Ledley (Probably too expensive and likely wouldn't take step down but, him alongside Chris Cohen would be strong midfield partnership. And stop leaking goals which was our biggest problem last season. I'd be inclined to break the bank for him within FFP)?
Lloyd Isgrove (Young winger and wouldn't be expensive. Might help to give ammunition to Britt / BB next season)?

Thoughts.

alberto219

1.) 27 May 2017 09:14:57
Sorry but for too long we've been looking at players who haven't made it, or at the end of their careers. I want to see Warby get some players who are the right age and skill to fill in any gaps, and I hope McParland knows his stuff and can seek them out for us. We also have some great young players in the U23 and U18 sides who I'd like to see given a chance in the pre-season matches, rather than the lot that I've seen mentioned in the media so far.

2.) 27 May 2017 11:34:27
Just to reiterate, look at players who, have been voted their fans player of the season not crocks and hasbeens.
Possible league 1 players, hungry and something to prove.
CARLO.

3.) 27 May 2017 16:17:56
Great post Carlo I've been banging on about buying young hungry and talented lower league players and developing the Academy stars guided by a few model experienced pros for ages. That's the way forward rather than the expensive so called "marquee" signings to appease the fans which was the mantra of the Fawaz era (Bendtnar, McCormack etc)

4.) 27 May 2017 17:39:45
I thought the guy Hunt was very good for us, think he played RB.

5.) 27 May 2017 21:57:30
Think he's DOIng welll at weds these days pal as is Sam Hutchinson.

01 Sep 2014 20:58:18
If we sign just one more player this window, please let it be a left back!

Fox is good as a squad player but Harding isn't up to the job.

The guy from spurs or Martin Olsson / Javier Garrido would be nice please Mr Fawaz

alberto219

1.) We only have Cohen, Fox & Lichaj!?

How many Left Backs do we need?

Possibly need another striker but not concerned if we don't sign one. Best transfer window in years.

2.) I'm sure that a certain Mr Pearce, knows that position better than most people in the country. So I accept his judgement on the number 3 shirt!

3.) Already posted about left back on here. Glad somebody agrees with me! Playing Lichaj at left back ahead of Fox, Harding and Cohen still seems tad perverse.

4.) Sure he played most of his games for villa at left back. Its him or Cohen for me, don't rate Fox or Harding.
With the talent we have in midfield it might be worth giving Cohen a run in defence

5.) 03 Sep 2014 19:16:45
Fox first choice, Lichaj second

6.) Considering Lichaj is a right back, yes he can play there and Cohen is a midfielder, yes he can play there - That leaves us with Fox and Harding. BOTH OF WHOM ARE AVERAGE!

05 Aug 2014 19:56:24
Hi Ed, heard from a local Burton newspaper that Chris Cohen, Eric Lichaj and Jack Hobbs all started against Burton at St. Georges Park.

Also Blackpool signed Joe Lewis from Cardiff so Blackpool with have a keeper on Saturday.

alberto219

{Ed034's Note - thanks

1.) 05 Aug 2014 20:53:47
does anyone know result of burton game?

{Ed034's Note - 0-0

Gingerkid - A few weeks ago, MW wanted to offload Vellios. I can't see that now, was the point of my post.

Interesting seeing Paul Taylor's question to MW re; Vellios, still not sure if MW is convinced!?

I'd expect Walker to be given a chance for August and then go on short term loan, meaning we'd be back down to 4, plus Ward.

P. S. My above point is on the basis that BB gets stuck out wide and Vellios hasn't started a game, so could well be used as impact sub.

It's not what I think is best, but what I think bread man thinks and has been proven in past few friendlies.

Agreed! Although think Cummings and Taylor may fight for starting place with Vellios as sub every game and BB on the wing.

Vellios deserves the chance, he's surprised me in pre season and he IS good enough.
