Jermain defoe happy to join forest

barty

1.) 11 Dec 2018 14:28:24
More to the point barty, would we be happy to have him?

2.) 11 Dec 2018 14:50:12
An experienced striker who has scored goals at international level and in the Premier League? We only need to get promoted from the Championship so yes, we would want him.

3.) 11 Dec 2018 18:04:03
Echos of Ian Wright Wright Wright?
A goal every other game would do nicely coming off the bench!
Get in my son👌

4.) 11 Dec 2018 20:37:27
I've always liked Defoe but he's 36 and we already have three strikers.

5.) 12 Dec 2018 10:25:37
He adds quality and experience so yes.

6.) 12 Dec 2018 11:53:44
It's 36 no's from me!!!

7.) 12 Dec 2018 11:59:28
I'd prefer Appiah on any day.

8.) 12 Dec 2018 13:39:37
RIE, your memory of Ian Wright is different to mine! Didn't we sign him at the very end of his career, and he only came because Platt was in charge? Then he did very little and left? I could be wrong, but don't remember it as being good times! And a no for Defoe, too old now. Would rather we looked at strikers in their early 20's that can play now, and make the step up to the PL!

9.) 12 Dec 2018 15:26:55
Crystal Palace also interested, I for one think he would make a great addition, but if Premiership clubs are coming in for him I can't see him dropping down to the championship.

10.) 12 Dec 2018 18:05:09
Ian Wright scored 5 in 10 and got sent off twice. He did a bit more than nothing.

11.) 13 Dec 2018 07:17:04
My view Defoe is the same type of player as Grabban, Appiah ie relatively diminutive! However I trust AK to make the right decision.

12.) 13 Dec 2018 12:02:06
Would Defoe come knowing he will be sitting on the bench most games is that not why he wants to leave bourmouth he would be ok if we played 2 up front and that's not going to happen and it would be stupid paying a wage like that when we need a goalkeeper and a left back expect a left back a goalkeeper and another midfielder 🙄 no n

13.) 13 Dec 2018 13:02:12
I totally agree with everything you say Skegsjay! Blimey.

Colback close to permanent deal at City Ground

barty

1.) 12 Jul 2018 18:02:11
If he prefers money to playing football then let him rot in Newcastle's stiffs. If he's willing to take a pay cut then sign him.

2.) 12 Jul 2018 21:19:29
Don’t really understand this obsession with other people’s wages, aren’t we just fans? Let the owner worry about how much he pays his staff. , after all he is footing the bill not us,

3.) 12 Jul 2018 21:27:01
Well said Stevie you'd think it was their money.

4.) 12 Jul 2018 22:45:20
If it’s something you care about you’d be stupid not to think or worry about potentially huge amounts of money going through or out of our club. Just like you’d worry at work if there was no orders coming into the company but your boss all of a sudden swopped his bmw for an Aston Martin because he was sure that if everything went well a big order would drop in soon. There’s no getting away from the fact that we need to think about the welfare of our club as owners cannot continually pump money into a club, they don’t love the club in the same way as we do and we shouldn’t forget that. We don’t directly foot the bill but we have to deal with the consequences.
If I’ve taken the bait-congratulations but if it’s a genuine post I am shocked and surprised that that’s how you’re thinking 🤔

5.) 13 Jul 2018 00:26:42
2tone sorry didn’t realise you were privy to the fine detail of how the clubs finances are structured, do you think the owner has suddenly just decided to throw HIS money around with no plan if he ha all the amateur accountants on here bleating won’t stop him , and if not the club might actually cease to be the modern day footballing irrelevance it has become over the last few years, nobody on here really knows what players are being paid , nobody on here’ knows the details of any negotiations with colback so why not leave it to the people who everybody has been saying are now running the club properly?

6.) 13 Jul 2018 07:02:25
i don't think we can or should forget that we were in a transfer embargo due to FFP that almost ruined the club and had a massive effect on the footballing side of things. I trust the owner to make the right call etc but these things are important for championship clubs spending more than their income

7.) 13 Jul 2018 07:24:52
It's a loan move, not perminant.

8.) 13 Jul 2018 08:54:38
wages are included in ffp though aren't they?

9.) 13 Jul 2018 09:43:28
Steve. You obviously missed the point of what I was getting at. What money he is on is irrelevant. Colback has said that he won't budge off the wages he is on. (£40,000 a week is the reported figure). That is probably above what we are willing to pay otherwise he would already be here. I'd rather have a player that wants to come to play football than a player that wants to come for money.

10.) 13 Jul 2018 10:44:28
Jenko it didn’t ruin the club though did it? We are now a couple of years later in a position where we have a better owner, a better run club , and spending millions on players,we are on the threshold of 1 of potentially the most interesting seasons for years , interest is higher than it has been for years and all we seem to get on here is people moaning about players wages. I got a good idea let’s see if pratley and whittingham are available,

11.) 13 Jul 2018 11:03:38
Psycho if the management at the club think he’s worth the money they pay , if not they won’t didn’t miss your point just think it’s out of supporters hands we don’t know the real figures involved so aren’t in a position to make an informed comment

12.) 13 Jul 2018 12:11:11
You did miss the point. The amount is irrelevant. I was referring to the player's intention. Does he want to play football or is his sole motivation just money??

13.) 13 Jul 2018 12:22:12
Id say somewhere along the line that someone could be missing the point??
Lol😁😁😁

14.) 13 Jul 2018 12:52:16
The point is that this is a rumours banter site. All things Nottingham Forest are open to conjecture as we are Nottingham Forest fans! Almost any subject raised on this site is potentially a contentious issue! In essence we are here to offer opinions and embark upon in depth discussions along the way. Disagreements will arise as will misunderstandings! If this were not to be the case there would be no need for a site such as this. THAT'S the point! Oh and by the way COMMON YOU REDS!! I think that we can all agree on that point!

15.) 13 Jul 2018 13:09:27
Stevie- it didn’t ruin the club though did it?? It nearly did mate and look at the state of some other clubs that have gone flat out and spent a fortune with no plan b ie. villa. We do appear to have a much more professional set up and hopefully we do have a long term back up policy but to be ignorant of the possible issues is ludicrous. If it doesn’t happen in the next year or two we will suffer for it. I’m quietly confident but also realistic and cautious about possible outcomes

16.) 13 Jul 2018 13:28:19
2tone you can’t nearly ruin something, name me one major club that’s gone out of business you obviously have no faith in an owner who has a track record in running a biggest club than us successfully for a number of years

17.) 13 Jul 2018 13:34:36
Good post 2 tone I hope that clears up any points.
If you've missed anything I'm sure it will be pointed out and too the point.😂😂😂

18.) 13 Jul 2018 14:46:31
Psycho because a man doesn’t want to take a drop in wages how does that make him money motivated??i could understand it if he was asking for more money, and like I said if the club don’t think he’s worth it they won’t pay it will they

19.) 13 Jul 2018 15:31:33
I don't think many people on here would give up a million or so n his position

20.) 13 Jul 2018 16:25:01
I have read the posts so I’ll have my say.
If Colback is holding out for the 40grand a week is this economically justifiable to NFFC?
If money is his only motivation surely we should look elsewhere.
If he was passionate about football he should realistically see he’s dropping down a division and thus his command of 40k a week is him throwing his toys out the pram wanting a club to meet his demands.
This says to me he thinks he's better and more than he’s actually worth.
Stevie f look at Villa and Terry as an example.
Benitez can keep him for me.

21.) 13 Jul 2018 17:04:39
Do one ff799 🤣
Stevie - i was nearly ruined when I thought ‘ it was coming home ‘ but I came to my senses, stopped drinking and didn’t go in the bookies. I also nearly ruined my England top when the beer started to fly the other night - missus got the stain remover on it and sorted it though. Thank god for our saviours however they appear 🤣🍻

22.) 13 Jul 2018 17:31:09
2tone think we’ll agree to disagree mate😊

23.) 13 Jul 2018 18:43:13
Well you two what was the "point"in all that? 😁😁

24.) 13 Jul 2018 19:07:57
That’s the point there was no point if you get the point

25.) 13 Jul 2018 19:35:57
It’s rude to point 👈

26.) 13 Jul 2018 20:32:20
I wanted to make a point,but after all the points,I can't see the point??🤣🤣🤣

27.) 13 Jul 2018 21:05:39
It's the 3 points Saturday/Tuesday we should all be concerned about.

28.) 13 Jul 2018 21:33:48
Now that's a good "point" perks.
Really sometimes it's so pointless.🤣🤣🤣

29.) 13 Jul 2018 22:17:44
Maybe the point is that points mean prizes?

30.) 13 Jul 2018 23:40:46
Well we had to get there in the end.🤔🤔

31.) 14 Jul 2018 09:26:23
What's the name of that quiz show hosted by Alexander Armstrong??

32.) 14 Jul 2018 23:02:50
And the point is Colback will be coming if the deal works for both club and player so calm down dears!

03 Jul 2018 11:43:56
Nottingham Forest are close to sealing a £5 million deal for Lewis Grabban from AFC Bournemouth.

barty

1.) 03 Jul 2018 12:42:35
Where u heard this Barty?

2.) 03 Jul 2018 13:00:36
Saw that several papers have reported this today!!

3.) 03 Jul 2018 13:05:44
HITC mate

4.) 03 Jul 2018 14:38:43
Birmingham also in the running.

5.) 03 Jul 2018 15:14:46
Fbb, trying not to seem to be full of heirs and graces but with the signings so far by both clubs which would you be drawn to if you were a professional footballer, or is it because i'm biased that i think Forest is the only choice out of both teams.

6.) 03 Jul 2018 17:13:13
"You GrabOne you get one free" So we buy a centre forward which means we get another one at the back for free?

I like the SafeStyle of our buying team! I wonder who the next one is?

7.) 03 Jul 2018 17:40:54
Calm down red you'll be moving house back to the buitifull county next😃😃

8.) 03 Jul 2018 19:31:42
Omtotd. forest of course as we are showing ambition with intent to win the league. 😁😁

02 Jul 2018 19:58:48
Costel Pantilimon's Nottingham Forest return is close to being secured

barty

1.) 02 Jul 2018 22:05:49
Oh well can't win em all, every manager makes a mistake when signing players.
Maybe he'll turn up for a game, instead of having problems.😁😁😁

2.) 02 Jul 2018 22:32:41
Hope not. We need better. Pants by name Pants by nature.

3.) 02 Jul 2018 23:12:58
Kept us 6 clean sheets so he can’t be that bad can he? Plus with Dawson in defence we’ll be even more solid.
Back 4 of Darikwa/Fabio, Figs, Daws and Robinson with Costel behind sounds fairly solid to me.

4.) 03 Jul 2018 07:42:42
I think he’s arguably the best keeper we’ve had since Camp. He has presence, talks to players and is commanding, which make the defence more confident and play better as a unit. Smith’s biggest downfall was that he relied on being a shot stopper and didn’t work with the defenders to prevent shots/chances. The best way to save a shot is to stop it happening in the first place.

5.) 03 Jul 2018 08:12:30
The only thing he commands is excessive wages for a bang average goalie.😁

6.) 03 Jul 2018 08:59:54
We are also linked with Bruno Valera (Benfica GK, 23-years-old, they want 15m for him apparently - suggests he is of good quality).
Could we be signing Pantilimon as a 2nd choice GK?

7.) 03 Jul 2018 09:15:04
We won't sign two goalkeepers already got Smith and that useless Kapino and he's on an 18 month contract.
S9 think we can forget Verela

8.) 03 Jul 2018 09:30:09
I can't see us spending £15million on a keeper to be honest J65.

9.) 03 Jul 2018 09:36:52
J65, i seriously doubt Pantilimon would agree to join us to be second choice, if we have €15 to spend on a goalkeeper why have not been interested in better strikers than we have been linked to.

10.) 03 Jul 2018 09:45:54
And the Forest Player of the Season for 2018/19 is now nailed on to be Pants given his secret admirer has been giving him so much stick!

11.) 03 Jul 2018 11:12:15
Redinexile the person to whom you refer would be the first to admit his mistake should that happen?!

12.) 03 Jul 2018 11:12:46
The only way he'd end up player of the season is if karankas other signings fail and we end up struggling.
Can't possibly happen red ?🤔

13.) 03 Jul 2018 12:32:29
He's nailed on to sponsor him.

14.) 03 Jul 2018 16:50:55
Yeh with pampers, somethings got to stick.🤣🤣

"Glad that's over" . Sensible ? 😀

6.5 million price tag for Jack Marriott.thoughts

barty

1.) 24 May 2018 18:30:27
Would just love to know what kind of money ak has availiable personally I would go for him better stats than Britt when we bought him but maybe a player plus money deal

2.) 24 May 2018 20:34:14
Better scoring record than Britt at £5.5m so taking into account inflation that's the price for the next best thing as the going rate for the top Championship strikers is £12-15m.

3.) 24 May 2018 22:10:22
4 million and give them Brereton.

4.) 25 May 2018 00:10:45
4m plus walker or Cummings
But we need more than Marriott. We need 2 new forwards

5.) 25 May 2018 00:29:14
We paid £1 million for a player who was scoring goals for fun in the same standard of football that Marriott has been playing (Cummings) and he couldn’t do it in the championship.

£6.5 million are you having a laugh

Grabon has scored 20 goals in the championship and is valued at £5 million.

Peterborough are having a laugh Move on!!!

6.) 25 May 2018 14:54:32
Good job we didn't say that about Britt

7.) 25 May 2018 15:34:26
How would Cumming,s do it, the few games he had were out wide ,played down the middle off a striker he,d score goals ,extremely powerful lad .
CARLO

8.) 26 May 2018 10:26:50
Surely Cummings is goings!
