Can we all please spread the word, we want all Derby and Forest fans to stand and applaud the legendary Brian Clough for one minute on the tenth minute of the match on Sunday.

1.) 10 Sep 2014 12:48:10
100% agree bigben, and for once both sets of fans will be fully behind this. It will be an emotional time, and a fitting tribute to one of the true legends of not just Forest (and Derby) but football in general.
Gone but NEVER forgotten.

2.) It would be fitting if Forest showed a picture of BC on the screens at 10 mins

3.) Great idea about Brian Clough picture.

We've scored 14 goals so far this season, 7 headers including an OG.

Antonio vs Tranmere
Assombalonga and Fryatt vs Bournemouth
Antonio and Fryatt vs Reading
Vaughan OG vs Huddersfield
Lansbury vs Wednesday

That is a lot of headed goals, wonder if this stat is a bit of a record somewhere.

1.) 01 Sep 2014 19:41:38
Noticed this BB but early days

2.) It might be because we are playing with more width

3.) 01 Sep 2014 22:39:52
Definitely chopsy. I'd be intrigued to see how many headers we scored last year and how that translated as a percentage.

4.) Also Fryatt v Blackpool

5.) 02 Sep 2014 13:04:41
burke scored against blackpool

6.) Antonio and Burke were the scorers against Blackpool Gawden.

7.) I know I got mixed up with the one against Reading, It's good to see so meany headed goals, Britts one against Bournemouth was a better goal than some people may have realised, if you look at the vid you can see he is getting fouled so much that the defender has practically picked him up off the ground and pushed him backwards but Britt still managed to stick his nut through the ball and bury it, amazing strength and determination, have a quick look

That is incredibly harsh on Fryatt in my opinion.

All these team line ups for tomorrow amaze me. Quite a few people seem to be making changes just to fit Reid and Cohen in the team with Lansbury coming in. I can't see how it can happen. We need to keep playing Britt and Fryatt up top because it's working well and they're getting us goals. I can't see how you can drop Burke or Antonio because both have been excellent. Putting Cohen at left back would be harsh on Harding, Lichaj and Fox because I imagine it would mean leaving them all, (or at least 2 of them) out. If Lansbury comes in, it has to be for either Cohen or Reid in the middle of the park. They shouldn't be guaranteed a place because ones called Cohen and the others called Reid.

bigben

{Ed034's Note - it didn't work well against Bournemouth, that's why we change to a 4231, which worked and helped us win the game.
Cohen us our captain and leads by example. Reid is the guy who makes us tick. Why wouldn't fans want to keep these guys in the 11??

1.) So if it improves the team you wouldn't do it. harding is rammal, yes he's played better than normal but he will never be as good as Cohen at left back. its tough at the top and if players can't hack it move on, dog eat dog. cohen is better than fox and Harding at left back and Lansbury is better than Cohen at cm so it's win win.

{Ed034's Note - I also find it strange saying it will be unfair on Harding, lichaj and fox, yet is happy to see Reid or Cohen left out....bizarre

2.) GKP: Darlow

LB: Lichaj (Although think Fox will play)
CB: Hobbs
CB: Mancienne
RB: Hunt

DM: Reid
DM: Cohen

AM: Burke
AM: Lansbury
AM: Antonio

STR: Fryatt
STR: Assombolonga

That would be my team.

{Ed034's Note - as it would mine, if the ref allowed us to play with 12 lol

3.) I'd play 4 1 4 1 tomorrow.
Hunt
Mm
A fit cb JL or Hobbs
Cohen

Tesher

Burke lans ried tony

Somber

{Ed034's Note - and in English?

4.) I think SP ill be the envy of the whole league. Not only does He have a really good squad He has a squad that is not far off being fully fit. So he now has to make some harsh decisions to make. and it makes a change for our manager not wanting more stellar signings

5.) There not guaranteed a place because of there name, Cohen is guaranteed because he works tirelessly all game and being a machine and leading by example. reid is a magician that can create a goal from nothing and is a set peice specialist he also has experience for when we are stuggleing.

6.) I think it's best to leave it to Mr Pearce and his staff, I just hope we don't lose or there will be the usual comments from the usual suspects! It's a measure of how far we have come in a short space of time having positive selection problems in midfield, nice to have options if it doesn't go to plan, last season it was polar opposite. Let's enjoy the ride eh?

7.) Blimey jack I think bletchley park would have trouble cracking that one using the enigma machine lol

8.) 29 Aug 2014 21:50:05
A cautious approach is to put Terche, Reid, Lansbury Antonio in the mid field. You cannot leave Henri out so either Cohen takes the place of Terche in mid field or goes to left back. Two games we have been over run first half and maybe a lucky escape once or twice. Sheffield Wednesday have made a good start and I am sure this will be a great match and advert for the championship. Forest to win 2 1

9.) Up the forest, spot on.

10.) Is it me but have Burke and Antonio not been our main creators / players with assists not Reid? Whilst I know Reid was the playmaker last season now we have natural width and with Lansbury now back I do not feel he is the automatic 'shoe in' everybody thinks. My opinion but if we are looking to the future we need to building a team that will evolve around the new generation / faces not relying on a player who is coming to the end of their career. I think he would make a very good impact player off the bench later in the game when there is more space for him to create.
Your thoughts Ed?

{Ed034's Note - they have, but Reid keeps the ball moving, is an outlet for any player who needs an option to pass to and is our best passer of the ball.
It's great that it's all not now down to him though and we can go wide, as well as through the middle

11.) Ha ha my mistake - good spot Ed.

In that case drop Darlow.

{Ed034's Note - lol rush keeper....I like it

12.) I think the days of 4-4-2 are coming to an end as most teams play 3 in the middle of the park with a lot more fluidity and movement in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation. We have been caught out against Bournemouth away first half and Reading at home on the first half where we have been over ran in the middle of the park. Changes to the formation by putting 3 in the middle allowed us to play a lot better in both of the second halves of those games. With Lansbury and Reid in the middle they make forward runs to support the striker and wingers when we are in possession. i'm afraid the 'you have to play 2 upfront' brigade may be stuck in the past with their thinking. I don't know many successful teams that play 4-4-2 nowadays. We have so many players that could play various roles within a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation it is frightening!

13.) 29 Aug 2014 23:39:13
In my opinion based on what I've seen so far this season, our best formation is a 4-3-3 (see below) it will allow for the most link up play, fluidity, attacking and balance. What we have with both Lansbury and Reid are two very good players who can pass , create space and be available for most players and be great support for a lone striker . The two wingers do a similar role and both like to cut in leaving out two naturally attacking full backs to have joy down the flanks while our new dm covers for them.

Darlow
Hunt , Mancienne, hobbs, Cohen
Tesche
Lansbury, Reid
Burke. Antonio
Assombalonga

Fryatt, Vaughn, fox, Paterson, de Vries, lascelles and osbourne on the bench.

14.) Lichaj/Harding out, Cohen LB and Lansbury in the middle. Wouldn't change anything else.

15.) Reid is quality, and in the best physical shape he's been in for years. First name on the team sheet for me.

16.) 30 Aug 2014 12:05:02
Hardin is better at left back than Cohen, and in good form. Lichaj is probably better there for me too.

There are other players who can lead the team by example ed, Hobbs, Lansbury etc. and do we really need someone to lead by example when everyone is playing well. I only said drop one of them because for me, the form everyone else is in means we'd be better with that set up than with both Cohen and Reid.

We've gone with five in the middle which might work but I think it's is harsh on Fryatt. I think we may need two up front if we want to win.

17.) 30 Aug 2014 13:17:55
I mean fox is better at left back than Cohen not Harding.
Five in the middle not working as well at the minute but we are winning.

18.) 30 Aug 2014 13:21:04
At least someone is using their eyes Forest freddie!

19.) Sorry to say but tesh is starting to look a better DM than Cohen as much as I love Cohen.

Quick question - don't know if anyone knows the answer.

Why are all our home midweek league games on Wednesdays this season not Tuesdays like normal? All our away midweek league games are Tuesday still so why not our home games?

bigben

{Ed003's Note - must be a conspiracy to piss you off ben.}

1.) Tell you what ed 003s a bit feisty compared to our model 034 😉

{Ed034's Note - 😇 it was pearces decision. I think it a disadvantage as it gives us a day less to recover over the opposition we play Saturday, but what do i know lol

2.) Can the club make that decision? Works both ways as an xtra day to recover from a satday

{Ed034's Note - pearce did make that decision yes. it doesn't work both ways as the odds are the team we play the Saturday after, would have played on the Tuesday and there for will get an extra days rest

3.) Ed, how come we are banned from swearing, but the 'gaffer' above can? :-)

{Ed034's Note - he isn't the gaffer

4.) Historically (BC era) Forest always played the midweek games on a wednesday. Something BC introduced so that any league games or cup replays fell in line with european fixtures etc.

5.) Anybody know any away pubs at Sheffield? Cheers.

6.) You can change my posts and yet other editors can swear?

{Ed034's Note - I can change yours, yet I cant change those.

7.) Apologies mate. Stand in gaffer! Lol!

{Ed034's Note - lol

8.) I like how Ed edits our posts to remove swear words or other unpleasantness. Keeps it clean and good natured. Noticed other teams rumour pages often have swear words, guess it's down to the individual Ed's. Keep up the good work, added work I imagine as I'm sure you get a lot of profanities lol

{Ed034's Note - cheers mate. I would rather have a friendly page and if people can't get an opinion over without swearing, I would rather not hear it.
We're all forest fans and it makes for a more pleasant read

9.) 30 Aug 2014 07:24:40
Playing wednesday also gives us an extra day to recover from the previous weekend and more importantly I can make every wednesday, but not tuesdays. LOL

Lopes would be a great signing. More of a CAM than a winger though.

I agree but the Capital one Cup isn't taken into account. So our record is four wins one draw, there's is four wins one loss.

NottsLoyal obviously a big football fan. Leigertwood is a central midfielder not a centre half.

I completely agree with you redsfanstan. Just give him a six month contract and see what happens. He's not going to want paying loads is he, if he's that desperate. Top pro, would provide the kids with experience and a great player when fit. I believe he is getting help from our physios anyway.
