Obviously it's early days and i wasn't at Mansfield just watched the highlights, but we look to have a taller, fitter, and more compact side, with a midfield moving the ball about quickly and accurately. They also seem to have a confidence about them, so I'd say we are definitely on the mend. Good to see Edser getting his chance too.

1.) 23 Jul 2017 12:52:46
i agree they looked to be moving the ball a lot quicker than we've seen them do for a while.

22 Jul 2017 09:30:58
Will Tyler Walker to be loaned out again? He doesn't seem to fit into anyone's plans so far?

bsered

1.) 22 Jul 2017 10:44:08
No, MW apparently said he's going to get his chance.

2.) 22 Jul 2017 10:46:27
Last I heard, Grimsby were interested in him. It may still come through.

Some players develop at different stages - Walker is a talented player, but for me, he's lacked the aggression and determination on the pitch to be as effective as he maybe could be.

Hopefully some injury free loan spells will do him the world of good.

3.) 22 Jul 2017 12:52:38
i agree LDN, with us having brereton, cummings, murphy and vellios i couldn't see walker getting on the bench much at all. hopefully we can sign jackson irvine who according to paul taylor could have a release clause of just under Β£1.5m which would be a massive bargain. apparently villa, swansea, brighton and the sheep are just some of those interested.

4.) 22 Jul 2017 12:57:27
I would back Walker in a sprint against any of them, which shows why he's still here. For me he needs to play a season in league one to mature and then he could be a real asset. However, until we get another striker in he's a different option in the squad.

5.) 22 Jul 2017 15:20:41
From what I've seen of him, which isn't a massive amount to be fair, he looks like an old school speedy striker (like Owen, Defoe, Wright although clearly not that calibre) that plays well with a big man laying off and flicking balls on for him. In the 90s he'd have made a good striker. Nowadays players like that have to be absolutely clinical or have something else to their game in order to make it at a decent level. I think he needs to convert to right forward/ wing or even right wing back if he wants to progress as a championship player. He'll probably do well as a striker in league two and maybe even league one in a decent team but not the top two divisions.

6.) 22 Jul 2017 16:59:27
He's just scored.

7.) 22 Jul 2017 17:14:20
He was terrible at Notts County mid week, probably made it worse due to the fact that he was preferred in the middle over Brereton who got put on the RW. Walker imo is not good enough and is now 5th choice behind Vellios, Murphy, Brereton, Cummings. Should be sent on loan to a League one club.

2.) 03 Jun 2017 13:50:53
So that's their reward for just surviving relegation? Don't get me wrong guys, glad they did. However if I was the manager, I'd have them training on the beach at Bognor Regis!

3.) 04 Jun 2017 08:18:44
Glad you're not our manager Rogie πŸ˜‚.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 17:51:24
Yeah mate! And in the month of January! 😡😡😡 Lol!

5.) 04 Jun 2017 22:57:37
Rog is saving himself for the England job, I'm in!

6.) 05 Jun 2017 21:51:30
Yes mate, i'd soon whip'em into shape! Up at 3am, then a cold bath for starters. Then a ten mile hike, (without any social media gadgets, headphones etc. All chucked in the bin) after that a nice bowl of cold porridge, Your then kitted out in something like they done PE with in "Colditz". Proper "sneakers" to run in!

None of your ridiculous different coloured boots, "Body Armour" or "Snoods" on my watch! Next up. "Bunny Hops" up and down the pitch 6 times. Then a nice game of "give your teammate a piggy back" just the 5 miles this time.

Then to enhance their speed and balance, let them "chase the chicken" around a yard (just like Rocky. makes a nice change from us running around like headless chickens).

Then just to warm down . a leisurely stroll through the nettles, (just like Sir Brian) then to finish off, a nice cold shower. (with none of your posh muck, like shampoos, conditioners, body sprays, face muds, colognes, soothing balms, or musks for that matter), then it's off to a nice wooden bunk bed, complete with a straw matress (none off your heated seats malarkey!, then it's same again tomorrow, after a few weeks of my regime, we'll smash this league! πŸ‘ΏπŸ‘ΏπŸ‘Ώ.

What about Grant?

2.) 23 May 2017 11:26:38
I think we should move to hijack Uniteds move for Antoine Griezmann.

3.) 23 May 2017 13:50:37
More likely to end up with Juan Carlos Paredes in our midfield!

4.) 24 May 2017 14:13:17
Grant offered 3 year deal with forest although Notts are also in the running.

5.) 24 May 2017 16:09:00
Let him go! Mind you I'd rather have him than Cash.

6.) 24 May 2017 21:21:51
Sounds like you want to CASH OUT.
Hell come good, been messed about in a variety of positions, need to settle him down to one in the centre, got a good engine and physique for that.
Been a tough season for him to make that breakthrough and he's handled it well.

I doubt after this we can beat Preston away, can't see us getting the 3 goals we need there.

3.) 16 Dec 2017 15:55:24
Second half could get very messy.
We are absolute garbage. Damage limitation already.

4.) 16 Dec 2017 15:57:29
Is he to blame for both goals? Just looks like us being well beaten by a team in form. MW deluded to think we can win every game, play for the draw, nick one on the break. Easy game football.πŸ‘

5.) 16 Dec 2017 16:05:28
Never has since he scored those two goals we have been left wanting and we have been found out

15 Dec 2017 09:32:02
For all those going to Bristol, if Forest start to hammer them there's a chant which really winds them up: "You're Welsh, You're Welsh, You know you are!"

bsered

1.) 15 Dec 2017 12:08:27
Wouldn't surprise me if they get arrested for that. The Bristol fans might decide to get offended by it. Like the Brighton fans decided to get offended by the 'town full of queers', 'we can see you holding hands' and 'does your boyfriend know you're here' chants.

2.) 15 Dec 2017 22:53:04
Why does everyone have to pick at old Scabs?

14 Dec 2017 09:17:11
An away win at Bristol would be great, but I fear our up and down ride is about to continue. They are a very different side to last year.

You can look at it two ways.

We could always shock them as we did against Sheffield United, and as we did Holloway when we beat Qpr.

If we get beat then look at where they are in the league, so it is not so bad.

2.) 14 Dec 2017 11:50:14
We will need to score 3 goals to get anything out of the Bristol game as it's a given that Patto and Flint will score for them?

3.) 14 Dec 2017 12:58:21
Redinexile

It is all about who scores first.

We need to rough up Patterson, and show no fear.

4.) 14 Dec 2017 15:58:33
Bsered

They are a very different side, so are we.

They have home advantage, so they will be favourites.

Can we beat them? We can beat anyone in this league! Simple as!

5.) 14 Dec 2017 21:40:51
Grey and Red

Whats scoring first got to do with the given that these 2 are bound to score against us!

We scored first last match but still needed 3 to win!

6.) 15 Dec 2017 05:06:00
Redinexile

To assume either, let alone both will score against us is unusual.

Mostly when we score first, we win.

We scored first in our last game and won, it needed us to score three, but we won.

Tell me the last time we let the opposition score first and we managed to win, in that lies your answer as to what it has to do with it.

7.) 15 Dec 2017 23:18:27
Grey and Red

Open your curtains and look into the clear sky.

The stars are as aligned as Pato and Flint are to score and I do not see any shooting stars landing on them at Ashton Gate

Forest need 3 to get a result is as nailed on as England losing their last 6 wickets for a 400 odd total and the Aussies scoring 550 ish to wrap up the series. My treble is no draws in the Premiership this weekend?

Grey and Red: if we need to "rough up" Paterson, Mills will have to be playing?

09 Dec 2017 16:57:37
Talk about skin of the teeth. 3 points but we are going to have to play out of our skins in the next few games to get any at all.

I think MW will keep the same team as last week and bring on Carayol for the last 30 mins in place of McKay. We may also see Brereton and Walker interchanged. We need Murphy to lead the line with weight and aggression today. I can't see Osborn being dropped or Clough in the side. To me Edser and Cash are better players than Clough anyway.

Yates spent a year there too. Walters just hasn't quite made it into the first team at Forest so it makes sense to give him some exposure in another Division.

I don't believe there is any planning at all. He puts players in and hopes for the best. Without firm and clear leadership on the pitch the players go wherever they like and leave gaps especially between midfield and defence. We have wingers who don't get back to defend, and yesterday even Murphy had to support the defence standing at a post. He's stopped the kick-it-and-run but in the first half yesterday all the defenders did was play hoofball and either kick or head the ball out of play giving the opposition throw-ins and corners. I want MW to succeed but I'm not sure he's too clear on what to do and in any case he hasn't got the players to do it. We need to start using some of the youngsters who are playing so well in the U18 and U21 sides. Cash would have been far better than Bouchalakis yesterday, and McKay definitely should have started - Carayol only made one run into their penalty area as far as I could tell.

We don't need the manager out, we need 1. Players who can defend - even Osborn looked better than the others when he came on to left back. 2. Midfielders who can tackle and not give the ball away, and 3. A leader on the pitch. Same problems all year!

No Vaughan, No Traore, no Osborn, No Walker or Brereton starting, Bridcutt and Bouchalakis as midfield holders, so it will be won or lost from the midfield I think. I'd put Bridcutt on Paterson from the start, and tell Millsy to put some strong tackles on their striker(s). Could be a tasty one this one.
