I hate FAH as much as the next guy, but seeing as they failed to buy Everton and Swansea and the takeover isn't in the best interest of the club. I might have to give him some credit for this one. Might not be the owner we want but he might have saved us from something worse?

This has gone way further down the line than the other 2 clubs though. Money was loaned against property and a holding company set up.

I actually agree. You can't expect him to just cave in if the yanks kept moving the goalposts. They did the exact same thing with Swansea and Everton. I'm a bit gutted right now but in the long run it may be a good thing. Tough times ahead though but I will never lose faith. COYR!

The Greek was dodgy, did red bull offer anything? And it looks like the Americans tried to pull a fast one and get it cheaper- I can't knock them for trying to take advantage of fawaz's situation, that's the real world. Fawaz got himself in it and wants out but still wants a decent return-I can't see him ever getting it but that's a different story.

But you don't know the situation behind JJM failing to get 3 clubs, so can't really say it was the Americans fault when both have failed 3 times. And i'm lead to believe that Red Bull were very interested, but wanted the full 100% which Fawaz wouldn't sell.

So you've just answered what 2tone said red bull never offered anything so how could it be a failed attempt. lol. jjm tried to lower the price at the last knockings with all three. the telegraph hate fawaz but have said jjm tried to drop his price to £15mill to buy us. that to me is a pee take and fawaz did the right thing. Also the Greek has a criminal allegation being investigated which involves football so the fl wouldn't give him the nod! obviously that's fawaz' fault as well.

The organisation was a bit of a shambles, they could have kept the fans informed over the tannoy. Ticket said film was to start at 18.30 so fans got there and sat in the cold, they should have published a proper running order
having said that
What a great night and great film, had me both laughing and in tears with the memories ... particuarly Kenneth Burns

As good as Bouchalakis second goal was yesterday it was his first one which impressed me more.
Free kick comes in and he's around 6 yards out to head it on but when the ball is in the air he thinks to get to the edge of the area and face up.
Really cerebral play from him with incredible movement and awareness and I hope to see more and not be a one game wonder like Kasami.

I thought his second showed more about how well he can strike a ball and his technique for his second was perfect. to wrap his foot round the ball like he did and put it in the far corner shows precision as well. the first was a very good goal don't get me wrong but put te precision technique and execution of his second was top draw.
That's not me saying your wrong that's my opinion just so there's no confusion.

I agree with you. In terms of goal scored absolutely second one is better than the first.
Isn't it great that both goals show how good his build up play is (1st goal) and how good his goal scoring is (2nd goal)

Reports from interview with John jay Moores by Barry Bloom last week that he hopes to complete tomorrow, so assume they are meeting Fawaz to try to finalise the deal. Just keep fingers crossed and wait for news

Where has he said that on twitter? As far as I can determine from his tweets He has merely said '' as far as he knows, no complications" but if that was the case why wasn't the deal signed on Dec22?
I hope it gets completed tomorrow but not hopeful, as our current owners are completely distrustful. The deal needs the signature of all the shareholders and Both Alhasawi brothers need to sign it.

Just out of curiosity. How is any team supposed to beat a team with premier league players on premier league wages who have been gifted parachute payment? The payment a team like Newcastle got was enough to keep all their best players and buy a couple more after being relegated. As a club they probably earned more money losing in one season than we make in 5 finishing mid to low table, does that not sound bonkers to anyone else?

To be honest the parachute payments have made no difference to them. they made more money selling than they bought this season and done some good deals. What there relegation will do is see more decisions go there way through the season as the fa will want them back in the prem.

when a club gets relegated they get 3years of parachute payments. if they get promoted the following year they don't have to pay the club the extra £30mill in parachute payment.

We lost yesterday to a team who should be in the premier league with John Terry at the back. We are a young and under construction team. Lower your expectations and allow the players to learn from their mistakes. As long as we don't finish in relegation then we are ok.
I trust Warburton but if he insists on not replacing Mills then he needs to start getting us out scoring opposition teams.

Boyd was crap when he was on loan with us but he's become a much better player since then. And I'm sure the club and Boyd could put that embarrassment of an eye test behind if the manager really wanted him and the money was right.
