Hearing that Fawaz has sacked Lalou Tifrit the head of finance at the club on the advice of Adrian Bevington.

gazza2969

1.) 25 Jan 2016 06:00:12
Not before time.

2.) 25 Jan 2016 06:06:19
Back in the High Court again. That may be the reason Tifrit got sacked. At the end of the day Tifrit is responsible for finances, and how many times this season have we been in trouble for not paying our bills.

3.) 25 Jan 2016 08:49:10
Please sort this out Fawaz! If the club wants to attract good business eg players, sponsors, partnerships etc this kind of stuff has to stop.

4.) 25 Jan 2016 11:12:20
As of now He's still at the club.

5.) 25 Jan 2016 12:59:47
Again for non payment of tax, which has now been paid during the last few days. Tifrit as we speak is still at the club.

6.) 25 Jan 2016 15:15:45
We can all debate the pros and cons of not paying your tax bill but i personally don't have an issue with it. When are the revenue ever on time or expedient in paying back money they owe to companies or individuals come to think of it.
Good on you fawaz!

7.) 25 Jan 2016 18:06:29
That must mean Bevingtons gone then? loool.

Look like Bolton could be in for Halford on loan move could be done before weekend

gazza2969

1.) Good luck Greg, you always tried and would be happy to play anywhere, even in a position where you were not best suited. It seems that Stu thinks you would be better off elsewhere. Hopefully your gametime will be much better elsewhere. Thanks for all your effort.

2.) Can I endorse that good luck message to Greg and hope the same goes to Collins when he gets a move. SOD brought both in at a time when a squad needed hasty assembling and the choice was narrow. I don't think he or we ever expected either to be players to take us into the prem. But they have been good, solid pros, who have seen us through tough patches and neither ever gave less than their best or showed anything but support for the club. Good luck!

3.) Well said TrickyTreeFC, best of luck to them and thanks!

4.) I disagree. Halford didn't give no where near his best towards the back end of last season, he gave up. Much like most other players. Still, he has, on the main been a good pro and put in a lot of solid performances. Collins has been quite been the defender we expected.

5.) I think Halford was a good player for us, he is obviously a passionate player however his problem in my opinion was that he used to commit too many fouls, got irritated at other team mates too often and tended to be a little lazy towards the end of games.

Having said that I really cannot fault him for the roles he played and his versatility. I honestly think he would be great at a team who would play him in his one position consistently. GOOD LUCK GREG!

6.) If he goes then wish all the best, he might not have been at his best at the end of the season (who was) but he gave 110% every game whatever position he played in. Just hope he gets a position and is allowed to stick to it, playing if every position is not good for a player as suggest you're not quite good enough for 1 position but okay for several which affects confidence.

7.) It's not going to happen, Gregs picked up an injury.
Another time maybe.

8.) Greg has had a niggling injury for the past 6 months which explains his dip in form towards the end of last season. He should be given credit for playing on with pain killing injections to help out an already injury ravaged side. Harsh to judge a players performances if not 100% fit but will always give his best in my opinion.

9.) Give Greg some credit! played all over the park last season without moaning, just got on with it! he was our top Striker for a while, Players like him always good from the Bench, when we need them throw ins into the box! Like to see him stay.

We have let james Demetriou (sorry if that's spelt wrong)sign for Swansea on a free I thought he was meant to be very highly rated any idea why ed?

gazza2969

{Ed034's Note - we didn't let him leave, as we offered him a new contract. He chose to leave. Find it odd on his side to leave a club where he has just settled in, who have a plan for his future and then go to have to do this all again.
Think we'll see him become a journeyman and end up at Lincoln

1.) Stinks of agent interference.

2.) What a fool its he's loss stuff him if he didn't want to be here.

3.) 29 Aug 2014 11:13:36
With all due respect guys Swansea have probably offered better wages, have as good or better facilities for developing youngsters and are already a decent premier league side. On top of that, he hasn't been with Forest for that long really so undoubtedly has the freedom to move now whilst he has no real ties to us. If I was in his position I'd know which option was the more lucrative one. Just my thoughts.

4.) Reports he was not offered a new contract by Forest.
Have we lost another Bamford?

{Ed034's Note - no because if we wanted to keep him, we would have offered one. ive heard we have offered but he chose to more

5.) Why are fans worried about this youngster moving on? When Bamford left we needed the cash and the millions we got from his and Wes Morgans sale kept us in the championship. Stuart Pearce would have looked at the player and along with the development/youth team personnel would have decided to offer a contact at what they felt the players potential was. Obviously he has looked else where and left. We canot afford to be held to ransome by agents or players especially youngsters who have come no where near to making the first team

6.) Ed, I thought if we had offered him a new contract and he signed for another team, we'd be due compensation as he is under 24. This is being reported as a free.

{Ed034's Note - im not sure on the rules of if a player has only been with us a couple of years, but i'll look in to it tonight

7.) We will get money if he moves on I believe

{Ed034's Note - if....he's gone mate

8.) He's not the first and won't be the last young player to go elsewhere for more money.

In an interview with a South Wales newspaper he's stated as saying "It's taken a long time to sort out. " so I'd imagine he has been angling for this move for a while.

It's not like we've lost a key player. Wish him luck and move on.

9.) I'm sure Mr Pearce, our Nation's former Under 21's manager knows what to look for in a youth player. Pretty sure that if the player was that good, we would have offered whateve was necessary to keep him at the club (a la Lansbury). All the best, Jon

10.) 29 Aug 2014 18:04:22
If he was that highly rated by Pearce and fawaz, we would have offered him a better deal to stay, unproven, no great loss in my book

11.) What's wrong with Lincoln;)?!!Come on you Imps!

{Ed034's Note - lol

12.) I was under the impression that he had already been released and was therefore free to go anywhere.

20 Aug 2014 08:25:59
theres a picture that shows Fawaz and john Mcgovern sitting with Paul Faulkner at the game last night maybe just maybe he is going to be the new CEO.

gazza2969

1.) Hope so, where is this photo? can't see it on social media. can you upload it to forest sightings page?

{Ed034's Note - I have seen it and will upload it within the hour

2.) I know we're in desperate need of a CEO and I would probably take anyone but does anybody know much about Faulkner. Is there anything much he did at Villa which makes him a good candidate? Why did he leave? I'll happily accept him whatever happens, as if he's good enough for an established premier league club he is surely good enough for us. Just wanted to find out a bit more if anyone has any information.

{Ed034's Note - respected by the vast majority of people who have met and spoken to him. did a good job under difficult circumstances at villa, where a small section of fans, for some bizarre reason, decided it was his fault the team and manager weren't doing as well as they'd hoped. did everything right at villa and is the stand out candidate for me, as I have said numerous times before

3.) If we can get him it will be a major coup and I must say if he wasnt close to joining us I doubt Fawaz and John Mcgovern would be openly seen sitting with him in the directors box at a match.

4.) Hopefully he will appointed sooner rather than later. Isn't he one of ones Pearce has suggested too?

5.) Thanks Ed, things are looking up!

{Ed034's Note - no worries.

6.) I think he did an excellent job at Villa under very difficult circumstances those being that the villa owner Randy Lerner (spelling?) was and still is trying to sell the club. Think he would make an excellent CEO and I think is SP choice

7.) This was posted on a site relating to Villa as they try to get the guy from Arsenal called Tom Fox. "Faulkner left his position last month and could now be installed at Nottingham Forest after he was spotted at their match against Bournemouth last night. and
"Although Lerner and Faulkner have worked closely together for many years, with the latter involved in a variety of roles in the former’s many businesses, the two have now gone their separate ways. It follows a failure to reach an agreement on Faulkner’s future as the club claim, via a statement, he had hoped to “re-engage with Lerner’s broader business while remaining involved with Villa in a non-operational role”.

8.) Now on NEP website saying confirmation shortly of Faulkners appointment.

14 Aug 2014 18:42:53
Fawaz has confirmed we have signed Robert Tesche German midfielder is he any good ed?

gazza2969

{Ed034's Note - :-/ havnt got a clue mate. Never heard of him

1.) Just seen this from Fawaz, never heard of this guy, but is this the beginning of the end for Lansbury?

{Ed034's Note - he's a holding midfielder, which we have been looking to sign. Has no bearing on Lansbury

2.) Hope you are right Ed, would very much like Lansbury to stay, smashing player, but can only be allowed to stay if he is totally happy to do so.

3.) Looks like a fairly solid signing to me, fair bit of experience, should link up well with Mancienne. One year deal to see how he adapts to English football. Would he be the replacement for Vaughan when he's injured/out of fitness? or would they be fighting for position.

4.) Ex team mate of Mancienne. now there's a clue maybe. 5 years with Hamburg .

5.) Friends in Hamburg confirm he was in the first team last year playing against Munich, so can't be bad can he.

6.) He looks half decent on you tube, scores streamers, I wonder if any of our reds in Bielefeld know anything about him as he started his career with Arminia Bielefeld.

7.) He used to play alongside Mancienne at Hamburg.

8.) He has been described as the German Messi. But that was by his mum.

Let's hope he is awesome. Welcome to NFFC young man.

9.) The goal he scores against Hoffenheim albeit they lose 5-1 is an absoloute peach!

10.) Bit of a surprise hey fellow reds, good news though as this guy CAN play breaks up play can thread a ball through the eye of a needle and scores goals (good at penalties too). Had a few injuries over the last couple of seasons, all clear now though. Good solid signing DV might have a job getting in the team once he's fit!.

11.) I have seen him twice playing for Hamburg in Hamburh, and a friend of mine is a big fan of Hamburg, and he rates him well.
Good on the ball, a running machine in holding midfield position.
I see him as a good and clever signing.
A totally different player than Lansbury, so not brought in to cover a Lansbury sale.

12.) Just seen you tube video of his wonder goal and he does a sumasault that our previous exponent could but only dream of!

13.) This new signing front Hamburg seems to be a good player. However if he is so good why did Hamburg not offer him a new contract, especially as he helped them stave off relegation. Also when did SP and his staff see him play, or has he been on trial at the club, or does he come on the approval of MM who we also signed from Hamburg.
I am not being negative but would just like to know how this transfer came about.
Also as of yet I have made no comment in relation to the HL saga, but would say if he wants to go let him, and move on. He does have problems with injuries and bookings, and this is something we do not need this season.

{Ed034's Note - lol

14.) There are people out there who's jobs are scouts? :)

15.) Jaj, my guess is SP has sat down, watched the same videos we have and took the chance on him.

16.) Your both wrong actually. He was signed because he was free and German, and because Germany won the World Cup its like having a free World Cup winning national. What more convincing would you need?

17.) You guys have heard of scouting networks right?! And nobody get bought off the evidence of videos lol!!

18.) Every summer after the league cup game forest have a tradition of putting all the free agents names in a hat and picking one out that we sign. Last season it was jara after Hartlepool game, season before it was gillet and year before that it was George boateng! I remember in 06/07 we signed junior agogo after losing 1-0 to accrington stanley. Who are they? I know this because before they pick the player out the hat, they get me in to predict who I think it will be and read people their stars.

19.) 19 Aug 2014 11:03:59
I had a season ticket at Arminia when he was there. Didn't really impress but to be fair he was playing in an awful team.

What’s happened to Gazzibaldi?

13 Mar 2016 16:26:35
Well a lot of you on here have got your wish DF has been sacked with Paul williams being put in charge until end of season. Now according to some on here now DF is not in charge things will improve. let's see.

gazza2969

1.) 13 Mar 2016 16:35:34
What lot?

Out of everyone on here surely only 10% have wished for him to go?

2.) 13 Mar 2016 16:49:39
then that's the ones whom i refer to 2star.

3.) 13 Mar 2016 17:12:26
Can't say I'm sure this is the right thing to do?

I know we're all well jacked off but can't see what this will achieve really.

Ah well what's life as a forest fan without a sacking.

14 Aug 2015 20:38:13
For all you anti Fawaz brigade out there who moan that the club has no CEO or proper management structure. You should have a read of an article called the Doughty years. Now when he was in charge we had a board of directors and a chairman. In his time in charge we had 97 winding up orders filed against us compared to the 3 against us with Fawaz in charge. The reason most of us knew nothing about these 97 winding up orders is because social media was not how it is today. And also remember 1 of the winding up orders since FAH took control was a mistake by HMRC that we had paid months before.Have a read it may just change your mind.

gazza2969

1.) 14 Aug 2015 21:10:15
well said gazza, great goal against the jocks by the way

2.) 14 Aug 2015 21:32:09
Lol thanks mate

3.) 14 Aug 2015 21:53:53
A multi million air Arab will always make for better headlines than doughty, and we all buy it hook line and sinker.

The media influence the world far more than we all realise sheltering under the umbrella of 'its in the public interest'

Quite frankly every newspaper and it's principles can take a running jump for me, they offer little enrichment to society.

4.) 14 Aug 2015 21:57:11
Sorry gazza but people don't want to hear stuff like that.all they want is bad news so they can have a good old moan.
I know social media wasn't what it is now but I still believe it's because he's a foreign owner it's highlighted more.

5.) 14 Aug 2015 22:29:37
Have a read where???

6.) 14 Aug 2015 22:53:41
Use your search engine and type in 'the doughty years' it will come up and click on the link.he has said what you need to look for.

7.) 15 Aug 2015 11:12:28
As a former newspaper reporter I have to agree wholeheartedly with 2star. Never trust what you read too much, that person only sees it from their own point of view, and then that is vetted by the editors, owners etc.We used to have a saying as journalists: Everything has been printed except the truth.

{Ed001's Note - is that why you have bs at the beginning of your name then? ;o)}

8.) 15 Aug 2015 12:31:32
Lol Ed001, yup I was scarred for life by the Press.

{Ed001's Note - explains a thing or two. I have often wondered if uptheforest is named after a night out with Collymore?}

2.) Hi Gazza,
Just picked up the thread from Ed001.

I do hope that your decision to leave is not based on a fear that our great club are trying to influence undo editorial control on freedom of the speech of fans and contributors to the forum?

11 Sep 2014 10:48:20

Matlock you have to be more realistic. We have been a championship side now since 1999 we are not going to be able to get people like Martinez his wages would be astronomical which we could not afford. He would not want to drop down a league. Pearson maybe maybe not.

I think that fans also have to be more realistic. Let there be no more melt downs if the club does sell a player to finance things. Its a fact of life that we have a massive black hole when it comes to what the club spends and what it generates. Until this is rectified we will from time to time have to sell players to balance the books. Every player has a price and if a club matches our valuation then there is a very good chance that he will have to be sold. But before going into a hissy fit stop and think why we had to sell. I for one am very excited by the new chairmans vision of the way forward. At last we seem to be going about things in a more professional way.
