If Hobbs is staying, as recent reports would suggest, and we've bid for this Egyptian guy then maybe there's some truth to the rumours that Lascelles will be going. It would make sense financially as $8m would pay for a large portion of the fee for Jordan Rhodes or some other expensive aquisition (s).
1.) I would take 5-6 million for him aslong as we get him back on loan for the rest of the season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% behind our management/ownership team but there's got to be some egg on faces over losing all 4 deals at the last minute. How can we close 10 with no problems and fail to agree on all 4 we were going for on the last day of the window?
{Ed034's Note - wouldn't they have egg on there faces if they paid over the odds and made a rod for their own backs for every transfer we do??
1.) Don't agree. Club should not be held to ransom and the prices quoted for certain players were ridiculous. KTF
2.) Its good that fawaz is communicating with us but tbh if you are trying to sign players who are highly rated by their clubs and fans, and they have also made statements saying they don't need or want to sell surely you are you going to need to pay over the odds-if your not prepared to pay over the odds you look at another option. it looks like we were going for real quality but all similar deals in the fact that none of the clubs selling really needed too unless a silly fee came in - just like us with geds and lansbery. I can't see how anyone can complain about the situation as every club and every fan is in the same situation. Our plan b is the loan market and fingers crossed its successful! I really hope nobody gets on geds back- whilst he's a red I can't see him giving anything less than 100% and I'll back him. We will never know the exact reasons for him talking to them (he could still go in a week or so?) but whilst he's a red and if Billy plays him I'll support him! Coyr

Agree 100% Keeno and Swiss Red, surely the most important thing is to get each decision right. Otherwise what's the point of even having rules and coaching players all week long to win games playing to them. I just don't buy this argument that "it's all part of football". If it is then football's a c*ck up.

Apparently Crystal Palace wanted 3+ mill for Hunt and the club didn't think he was worth that much, even though we could have signed him despite the embargo.
Well said Chopsy. There are flashes of what we can become in every game. Just needs some time to polish the rough edges. The only one we need to send up the A52 is Forest's nemesis, Boilerman AKA Boilermoan. he probably lives there anyway.
