15 mill price tag on Britt. i feel this should be more when the likes of Ince are going for as much as he did!

1.) 05 Jul 2017 12:59:44
I just feel if we had put a 20 mill price tag on him Burnley and boro would run a mile considering his injury record but u never no these clubs might not even want to pay the 15 mill were asking for.

2.) 05 Jul 2017 15:23:20
would you not want them to run a mile? i'd say put 20 mil on him and see where it gets you, don't get me wrong i wouldn't want to sell but i'd take 20 million!

15 Jun 2017 14:56:33
Also reading that we have shown some interest in Fulhams Kevin McDonald, good play maker if true.

mgricey

1.) 15 Jun 2017 16:17:17
It depends what the price is.

15 Jun 2017 10:31:31
Jason Cummings apparently completed a medical down the CG and the deal has been given the thumbs up.

1.) 15 Jun 2017 12:17:27
Yes, by an old team mate from hibs! No news yet.

2.) 15 Jun 2017 15:18:50
The Forest Twitter feed put up a tweet saying he'd signed a 3 year deal at about 11-30 this morning but then deleted it shortly afterwards.

07 Jun 2017 11:32:17
NEP Saying were going to have to Sell Ben Brereton to fall into FFP rules, what are we thinking about this?

mgricey

1.) 07 Jun 2017 11:36:12
Would be good to see the numbers to back that up from them, anyone have any idea?

2.) 07 Jun 2017 11:43:46
Would be a huge loss to the club if he was sold. Would rather see other players sold if we have to balance the books.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 13:52:27
i agree i'd like to see facts on numbers before we start to panic, hopefully this is just nonsense!

id also like to see others sold to balance books. hopefully the new owners and MW know what they're doing.

its been a good couple of weeks for the club and i just hope this continues!

4.) 07 Jun 2017 14:13:53
Thing is its fast cash selling ben. selling the others may take time and won't bring in as much.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 14:51:13
If it happened under any of the previous managers I'd write our chances of before the season started with the sale of Brereton.

Thing is we now have a manager with a proven track record of putting teams together on a minimal budget, playing decent football and getting results.

Breretons sale will likely cause the usual outrage, but assuming we get top price, i'd still have faith in Warburton making us competitive and knocking on the door.

Until we reach the top table, we're a selling club like everyone else.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 16:20:02
As the Burke money was never spent surely that's enough to balance the books for last season.

7.) 07 Jun 2017 16:01:15
Gave my opinion on the Banter Site lads.

8.) 07 Jun 2017 16:38:22
Red James that money went back into the club to keep it afloat without costing fawaz a penny last season.

9.) 07 Jun 2017 18:02:20
It only says we may have to sell him not saying we definitely will. It's a gamble to sell or keep him and a decision that the new owners are going to have to make with the clubs best interests in mind. At least we know if he is sold the money will be used in the correct way and will benefit us moving forwards.

10.) 07 Jun 2017 19:22:04
At the end of the day if we have to sell him for 15m then that's what we have to do. Unfortunately we can't rely on parachute payments like some other clubs. We have to trust that hard decisions are going to have to be made for the right reasons. At least now we know we have a board making these decisions, not a one man band.

11.) 07 Jun 2017 21:34:57
Gazza, so when it was one man we distrusted that mans reasoning that the sale was necesssry to keep the club afloat but now because it's a board the same statement is believable? Is that what you mean or am I reading it wrong? Surely generating an income from selling the players is the same no matter who's in charge of the club?

12.) 07 Jun 2017 23:21:41
2far - I think the general thinking is that at least now there is a discussion about the pros and cons of selling a player for a certain figure-surely that should give us a bit of a positive spin on any possible deals? I'm more confident that a sale of a player is for the good of the club rather tgan just to either keep us ticking over or to line someone's pockets.

13.) 08 Jun 2017 09:47:20
We sold Darlow and lascelles to fund Antonio and assombalonga.
We sold Burke to operate the club for another season. I might struggling to see how it is more or less acceptabel in either case. This regime will cloak it in positive propaganda (which is a goodbye thing) but the reasons for selling on our youngsters are the same whoever does it. If we sell Brereton can you honestly say that if Fawaz did the same he would have been accused Of lining his pockets let somehow it will be accepted as for the good of the club. For the record i believe we have no choice but to fund the club with sales, I believe the need to do this will reduce once the new owners get the club on a better financial footing over the next few years.

14.) 08 Jun 2017 10:35:44
As long as Warburton assembles a team that plays his preferred passing style of play and we stay within the rules then if we lose Brereton then we lose him. The club has to improve significantly on last season and I would be happy with a top half finish next season with a promotion push the season after and enjoy going to games again.

15.) 08 Jun 2017 13:23:57
2star - all I'm saying is that in my opinion, we can trust that decisions are being made with the best interests of the club in mind, not to refill fawaz's pockets as much as possible before an inevitable sale.

16.) 08 Jun 2017 14:43:55
Gazza when did fawaz fill his pockets?

17.) 08 Jun 2017 16:38:36
Given the disgusting antics of Liverpool and their scouse media mafia at unsettling players the quoting price for any Forest player is £50m which they have not got!

18.) 08 Jun 2017 19:10:36
The amount of times last season when we lost by the odd goal and several cases lost 1.0. We need to score more goals and add to the forwards we have got. Its all very well but we will not be replacing with the equivalent quality so how on earth are we going to reach the prem. Already had my rant on the banter site.

19.) 08 Jun 2017 19:17:53
Sell ben and get him back on loan, we still get to use him and we have £10 mill in the bank to keep our heads above water and maybe use a little to strengthen the squad. or we could keep him and not be able to strengthen the squad that nearly got us relegated. tough decision really.

20.) 08 Jun 2017 19:23:14
Understand Gazza, I just have a different veiw which is that he didn't really do that. I believe he sold players to fund new signings and the running of the club. I honestly don't feel that he filled his pockets, I also recognise how he got himself in a position that every decision made was veiwed with cynicism and suspicion. It's how it was executed rather than what was executed.

21.) 11 Jun 2017 23:11:10
Fawaz didn't take any money out of the club whatsoever. Not a penny. He just didn't want to allow anyone else to control his toy so never appointed the right people to run the club.

06 Jun 2016 12:43:09
Zola has been slashed by the bookies and is now in the running to become the new boss. still behind garcia and warnock according to the bookies. let's hope fawaz is holding on for someone stepping off the plane from france this summer!

So Bournemouth have signed Mahoney according to the news. its a shame i feel like he would have been another good addition to what MW is trying to achieve.

1.) 28 Jun 2017 06:47:09
We didn't act quick enough to agree compensation with Blackburn. Medical was already completed, he just needed to sign on the dotted line. Real shame.

2.) 28 Jun 2017 09:31:40
He left his boyhood club as soon as they were relegated, even though next season he would've been a key regular in League One, gaining some valuable experience. Instead he wanted to chance it as a squad players in the Championship on a bit more money, not a bad move perhaps, possibly seeing 20-25 games instead of 40.

Then when a Premier League move materializes on even more money with even less game time he jumps at the chance. He'll be lucky to play 10 games next season.

Looking at it in a positive light, I think we're better off without him. Maybe you can't fault the lad for aiming high but he's clearly choosing money and opportunity over development.

Anyone else a little frustrated on the news regarding injuries. I don't know about anyone else but i haven't heard a lot about them. (could be just me)

mgricey

1.) 14 Oct 2015 18:07:56
Could be just you injured? 😊

2.) 14 oct 2015 23:31:39
rotation cannot help with injuries when players are not getting a long run of matches especially forwards with hamstrings. Before 3 subs hamstring injuries generally occurred pre and early season as players get match fit. Now with these so called highly tuned athletes constant chop and change can only increase the risk of muscle injuries.

3.) 15 oct 2015 07:01:39
don't blame it on dougie blame it on the kebab shop. To be fair dougie has said he will be looking into this as it's not good.

4.) 15 Oct 2015 13:07:49
if dougie has said that i'm shocked - I think the menu at the kebab shop is fine!! :)

5.) 16 Oct 2015 16:33:41

if you look at brentford and rangers its taken MW atleast a year to get the team where he wants them to be! i'd be happy with a top 10 finish but who knows it could be more than that this year if we make some signings in Jan! in warbs we trust! you reds

Liam would be a great signing! i remember thinking this last season when we played them, he controlled the midfield and supplied support for the back four! in other news Snodgrass up for grabs, i'd have a cheeky bid even if we couldn't afford his wages!

Am i the only one that thinks Osborn is very over rated, he just dances about when he's defending. yeah fair enough going forward he does look like he's doing something but it never comes to much in my opinion.
