Could we recall Chris Burke?

redandgreen2

1.) 19 Mar 2016 16:39:54
He went off the boil for us and did nothing in his last few appearances, why would we want him when we have Twisty, Petravicus etc?

2.) 20 Mar 2016 20:19:11
If I recall he used to play on the right wing for us?

We already have one burke in that position and several others at the club! Why do we need another burke?

I guess this piece in today's Guardian explains - if we need any explanation - why we are not in the market for signings of Hooper's calibre. Fact is even clubs like Wednesday are able to pay fairly average players this sort of money! The transfer window must have been challenging for DF!

"Norwich City have denied that their striker Gary Hooper turned down the chance to join Sheffield Wednesday because the Yorkshire club refused to give him a VIP box for games.

According to the Sheffield Star, Wednesday had agreed to a £500,000 loan fee and were to pay the player's wages of £32,000 a week should he join the Championship club.

Hooper reportedly passed a medical last week but the Star said the move collapsed after a wrangle over the VIP box at Hillsborough, said to cost £30,000 a season, for Hooper's friends and family."

Where is John Pemberton these days? He did a great stand-in job previously for us and was a great loss when he was shunted out.

Been a rumour for some time now, but surely if we can fork out £2. 5 m for Wilson the offer for a highly promising young player like Hearts' Holt could be upped to £200,000 or £250,000. We couldn't go wrong with this addition to the squad, and risk losing him over a piffling amount of dosh.

redandgreen2

1.) If we really wanted him and we could get him for £200-£250k i'm sure we would pay it.

I think there is some other issue we are unaware of as I don't think we would miss a player for £50k or £100k

Mosschops, maybe Marinakis is a smart cookie but there's also a lot of concern as to his alleged highly suspect character. We need to be careful what we wish for!

TNGH - not sure the reason behind his lack of game time as you'd have expected him to get off the bench in our dismal performance v Huddersfield and certainly to have got more than 10 minutes last night v Burnley.
He is now fully recovered, fit and raring to go. His qualities would definitely improve the team and you have to wonder if DF is less of a CC enthusiast than all the previous managers he has played for at Forest (have been) . . . . and as the fans - and chairman - certainly are!

Malonga played for Hibs not Livingston. He is skilful but very inconsistent. Some great goals - and his goal ratio is not bad as realred says - but he'll be remembered as much for the howlers he missed. A frustrating player and with Hibs bringing in Stokes on loan from Celtic, he was considered surplus to requirements.

Cummings has thrived under Stubbs's coaching and playing in a side with an attractive attacking style. Also Stubbs gave him a decent run (OK maybe needs must) and that has helped him grow in confidence.

It's highly unlikely to happen but Barton would be a great signing. And his discipline record these days is no where near as bad as some posts suggest. He has worked hard on that and on improving himself as a person over recent years and that should be commended.
Forest would benefit hugely from his consistency, drive and commitment to the cause. Oh, and he is very skilful too!

{Ed003's Note - I have spoken to someone who has worked with him and I believe you are wrong in all aspects of your post.}

Can't agree owlbigred.

Yes, Celtic are very far ahead but Rangers support base, income generated and wages bill is massive compared to all other Scottish clubs (barring Celtic of course! ) . Their wages bill stands at £11m compared to Aberdeen's at under £2m, yet Aberdeen are ahead of them in the league! Warburton recruited very badly, was naïve tactically and a poor motivator. Very few fans in Scotland would say he's been a success at Rangers. Even Platt or Megson could have achieved what he has in Scotland!

Let's hope it's the Brentford Warburton we've recruited and not the Rangers one!

Fawaz's arrival at Forest was generally warmly received with fans responding well to his promises, positive noises and his happy chappy persona. Over time he has lost virtually all of that good will with his erratic behaviour and irresponsible antics. The allegations made in the piece by Daniel Taylor - a highly respected journalist from a very credible newspaper - make truly shocking reading, and the demands it claims are being made by Fawaz would be laughable if it wasn't such a serious matter and so devastatingly damaging for the club. Fawaz now needs to hear loudly and clearly that 100% of FOREST fans want him 100% out of our club AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Agree with HFTF, and believe in the Cloughie philosophy, to always play your best 11. The manager is new but he will know by now that Britt and Ollie would always be in the first eleven and that most would put CC and Mancienne in there too. If not playing in midfield, surely CC should be in at left back?
