Note to MW, if Bolton had more shots, controlled the game and made us 'play at their level', we don't care, we won. We don't want to see it every week but if needed. dig deep and grind out that result. πŸ‘.

I saw diminutive Dowell and Osborne line up against the Bolton . At last in the last 30 mins tackles were made by Forest ie Osborne started it then the rest of the team seemed to follow suit. Boulakis made a difference as well tackling but you rarely saw a 'proper' tackle up to that point and Bolton dominated due to they challenging for the ball more than Forest. The game turned in the second half back in Forests favour because they fought and ran after the ball. Brereton scored a very good goal as a centre forward which is where he should be. Another observation the midfield don't go forward but sideways or back and don't seem to be prepared to just go forward. Caryol and MAckay are different but both very able. Tyler played well and will grow in confidence and strength. My view would be start Ben and Tyler next week. Definitely the strength of Bou and Vaughan next week. Let's hope Trarore is fit. Anyone see the Bolton second goal?

And a keeper. Last 3 matches: Bolton 2 shots on target and 2 goals. Ipswich 5 shots on target and 4 goals. Cardiff 2 shots on target and 2 goals.
Against Ipswich and Bolton he did make the initial save but only parried and the ball still ended up in the net.
I make that 1 save in 3 matches!

Sunderland went to Wolves and got a draw, that shows just how hard the Championship is.

And with 10 men,i wasn't there today but can anyone tell me if it was worth bringing Mills in 😈

09 Dec 2017 20:19:24
Oj71

I may be bias as I'm not fan of Mills but for me, in our box Mills was useless, but near the halfway line he got a few headers in, as a whole was largely not worth a place.

10 Dec 2017 09:23:53
Too many anti-Mills people around. It was partly Mills' grit, aggression and refusal to let Bolton/Parkinson keep getting away with their spoilhoofball, that kept us fighting till the end. He might not be the quickest, but he can suss out the cheats right away and face them up. And by the way so did Bridcutt who never gave in to their childish antics either.

I know it is a different position but Sheringham did not have a lot of pace but his ability to read the game and pass the ball well made him a fine player.

Mills in my opinion has no positional sense, sometimes waits too long before passing the ball, and when he makes a mistake, or gets caught out of position, instead of getting on with it he shakes his fists, and gets on his knees to slam the pitch.

Yesterday he messed up one time and he was so busy shaking his fists as Bolton went down one of the wings instead of getting in position.

He also very often hoofs the ball up the pith straight to the opposition.

A hard fought win, except in our own half we struggled to put three passes together.

The officials were dreadful, Mills getting booked for being fouled, and Bolton's 6 foot plus were a bunch of girls the way they kept going down, but the officials fell for it.

So often in different parts of the pitch Walker was unmarked, yet we passed it sideways or backwards instead of to Wslker an advanced position.

The Bolton fans got on my nerves banging on the plastic above me, i could not believe how often we started to run forward then stopped to see eho to pass to when it was easier to keep running at them.

We at the end of the day though won which is the important thing.

Did not go today but it seems that once again our playing by numbers football does not allow for releasing a ball wide right when the player whether it be Brereton, Osborn, Walker et al are standing in space?

Modern tactics ignore the best chance of breaking down a defence is the run to the bye line, played back to runners breaking from midfield. Given we only have 1 up front you would think that this would be in the playbook instead of playing tippy tappy down the middle?

09 Dec 2017 18:32:37
No tippy tappy today, more long balls than I've seen all season.
You have to remember that we had a centre half playing right back and our right back playing left back, warbo had no options on that one,the rest are injured as per usual.

More of a scrap and we won it.

09 Dec 2017 18:54:13
Thanks FF79 at least we mixed it up for a change? Onward and upward!
Bit quiet on the Formoaner front?

10 Dec 2017 00:54:33
Music to my ears, when we had to go toe to toe with Bolton, we did. Probably not the prettiest game to watch but as MW had the good grace to admit, just as important a victory and 3 points. We won't win them all, we won't play fantasy football every week but we will be proud if our players put a shift in. Onwards and upwards you reds.πŸ‘

09 Dec 2017 17:21:31
I think that is perhaps our most important wins this season. Unlikely that we’d draw today and probable that we Wil lose a few over Xmas. Well done good three points and keeps us on course to be well clear of trouble even if the next few games look tough.

09 Dec 2017 16:57:37
Talk about skin of the teeth. 3 points but we are going to have to play out of our skins in the next few games to get any at all.

Thought that was a good result against a team that's been in form well done mw and lads

09 Dec 2017 15:48:36
Please God play two up front 442 and go for it, come on warbo sort it out lad, we are at home for christs sake. Pleeeeeaasssee

09 Dec 2017 16:58:23
We immediately looked better when Brereton could run at their defence.

09 Dec 2017 13:42:25
I'm wondering if MW is going to name a second string side or at least give players who do not get much of a look-in at the moment a game V Arsenal? Maybe Henderson, Mills, Hobbs, Ward, Cash, Bouchalakis, Carayol, Velios, Cummings might be playing? I'd like to know what you all think.

Agree4 Disagree2

09 Dec 2017 14:32:59
Well mills is somehow in the starting 11 today.so does he class as second string?no Vaughan again today,he can’t stay fit or can’t play week in week out so why doesn’t he play the Greek?

09 Dec 2017 14:56:57
He may have gone with Mills to add a bit of height, there will be quite a bit of long ball into the box today.

Good luck Forest.

09 Dec 2017 15:05:35
Well that didn't take long to sort out you non believers πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

09 Dec 2017 15:54:41
πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ your right there ff.lol

09 Dec 2017 15:55:44
All but one of there players is 6ft so why not use the Greek as well to add a bit more?

09 Dec 2017 16:47:33
Sutton do enjoy being miserable?
We're winning ain't pretty,
Midfield not on there game I'll admit, but a bunch of six foot four inch bruises rant going to let you play football, and the ref is a total joke.πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

09 Dec 2017 11:30:28
I know its the pantomine season FF79 but the I ho we love Warbo is stretching it a little. Know which could it be, seasonal wind up, tongue in cheek, totally deluded or you actually believe it. Suspect it won't be the latter. Anyhow back to the real pantomine that is Forest, let's hope the cast all turn up, especially those with any defensive experience or it could lead to some of our own cast seeking a new full time career in panto with Warburton and Weir topping the bill as the ugly work in progress sisters. COYR three points a must today. It is Bolton remember not Barcelona.

Agree4 Disagree2

09 Dec 2017 11:52:48
Retford Red

That is the problem, if we lose there will be people saying Warburton should go.

If we win there will be people saying it was only Bolton, Warburton can not win either way.

09 Dec 2017 13:05:58
Don’t be daft if we win the happy clappers will be singing his praises from the roof tops.
If we do lose all it will prove is anyone can beat anyone in this league 😜

09 Dec 2017 13:37:29
Easy win today under the mighty mark Warburton 6-0 you reds

09 Dec 2017 14:05:08
Traore not in the team today which means Eric at left full back. I know it's obvious but we really do need a reliable left full-back and since Pinnilos went we have not had one. I hope MW is looking for one in the next transfer window. Traore let Ipswich's right full back steal a march on him last week and nod the ball into the net.

09 Dec 2017 14:17:44
Well see when we line up ,could be three at the back with Osborn wing back, let's see

10 Dec 2017 05:02:22
headless again.lucky win.smith useless. ffs get a keeper who can hold the ball.all he does is parries or punches and ball tapped back in the net. no change in anything just the club being run better.football still the same old dross.
