I see Gary Godden, an ex Nottinghamshire copper and Labour's new Nottinghamshire crime officer has thanked NOTTS FOREST blah blah Notts Forest. pratt!

20 Mar 2024 10:31:36
I don’t know him but I wish to disassociate myself from his remarks! ????.

20 Mar 2024 14:36:11
Why does it bother you if someone says Notts Forest, are peoples life's that empty simple things like that upset you. Who cares Notts Forest, Nottingham Forest does it really matter. Does it lift us put the relegation zone?
Ridiculous ?.

20 Mar 2024 16:16:48
Doesn’t bother me one bit either but I’m not from Nottingham so I’m guessing it is just a ‘Nottingham’ thing? Some get really rattled by it ??‍♂️.

20 Mar 2024 17:42:45
Must be a nottingham thing as it really winds me up, that ain't what we called or known as, bit lazy n ignorant from them who say it.

20 Mar 2024 19:03:39
It's because we have two clubs in Nottingham, one Nottingham and the other notts, rivalry can cause issues when incorrectly naming a club
Tbh most just call us forest.

20 Mar 2024 18:48:16
Balloons why does it bother you, that people are bothered by it? yours life obviously empty too,

20 Mar 2024 19:00:39
Cos it ain't Nottinghamshire Forest, it's Nottingham Forest, but if you're a Derby/ Stoke/ Leicester man you won't get it. ??.

20 Mar 2024 19:47:23
I don’t get cyclists either ??‍♂️?.

20 Mar 2024 20:03:13
Would anyone call the magpies Nottingham County?
No don’t think so.
So get out bloody name right please - not a lot to ask.

20 Mar 2024 20:20:01
Oh dear 2 tone that's why you don't get it ??.

20 Mar 2024 20:27:13
Evening Mr Angry AKA stevie. Just can't help ya self can ya ??.

20 Mar 2024 20:28:20
Wow that's told me cyclist. How do I get our of this one ????.

20 Mar 2024 20:41:47
Balloons only mr angry on here is you, slagging off the club and everything to do with it on every possible occasion, and having a pop at everyone in general, and with hypocrites like you, I can’t help myself you’re correct,

20 Mar 2024 21:04:58
That's the kind of guy I am o angry one ???.

20 Mar 2024 21:19:26
Balloons ??????hilarious.

20 Mar 2024 21:48:42
2tone, The whole cycling in the City is fecking dangerous and I should stop while I'm still breathing. We are risk-takers and want to stay fit so we can get out of bed and clothes without assistance as along as possible.

Nothing to get out of Balloons regarding what I said. If you get it, you get it. If Nuno doesn't get his sh1t together, though, I don't see how you can get out of admitting you were wrong repeatedly and publicly on here. AGAIN! ?.

21 Mar 2024 06:59:27
Never known balloons to be wrong cyclist he said cooper couldn't cope with premiership football and would be sacked because his football was rubbish. (Right) Also we needed a new manager (right) also cooper would not get a offer of a job from palace or any other premiership team (right) and cyclists shouldn't be allowed on the road (right) ????.

21 Mar 2024 07:49:44
Skegs, you and Balloons were on here telling us how Mr Nuno was a winner blah, blah, blah.

"If Nuno doesn't get his sh1t together, though, I don't see how you can get out of admitting you were wrong repeatedly and publicly on here. AGAIN! ?. "

Comprende?

21 Mar 2024 07:53:36
ETA: I hope you were both right, because the evidence so far is that you weren't right and Nuno is pretty useless and I don't want my club to go down.

Your record at being wrong about bosses is pretty strong, which is yet another worrying sign! ?

I'm also not into replacing the boss every 5 minutes, been there done that. Hopefully things turn around quickly.

21 Mar 2024 09:08:19
Patients dear chap. The mammoth task nuno has got of getting 2 years of parking the bus out of there systems is slowly materialising. At least we attack and have shots on target now.
Look at West Ham this season as opposed to last season. Look how long it took Arteta at Arsenal. We survive this season. Clean slate and go again next year. You'll see I'm right. You won't have your 15 minutes of fame at my expense. My football knowledge is to vast. You need to get over the Cooper worship and move on for the sake of your well being mate ?.

21 Mar 2024 12:12:38
Only 2 people mentioned the old coach in this thread. One day you will be right. Been waiting 3 years now. Tic, tic, tic.

20 Mar 2024 04:49:26
The Times claim we have to sell a 'star player' before the end of June or we'll fail this season's PSR. Is that before or after the Mangala deal goes through?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2024 06:50:28
That’s us in the mire then ? where do we find a ‘star’ player from.

20 Mar 2024 07:22:24
Agree 2tone, not many to choose from given their performances this season. Perhaps Elanga may be looked at by other clubs, the rest not so sure.

20 Mar 2024 08:14:39
Murrilo boys he's the one he'll be gone like a hot potato if any of the big boys sniff around. Plus MGW and Awoniyi have interested clubs looking at them. But definitely Murrilo he won't wanna hang around if Liverpool or Arsenal come knocking, probably already told the bosses he wants offside.

20 Mar 2024 09:12:45
I was listening to a sport lawyer on the radio, he was saying Chelsea will have to sell 200 million worth of players and at least 3 home produced players, one being Gallagher, and having to get at least 50 million for him. If not there punishment this time next year, will make ours and Evertons a slap on the wrist. Oil rich Newcastle are having to sell as well, it's a way of keeping the money between a few teams, and Premier titles. Ambitious owners will go elsewhere or invest in other sports, and these rules don't stop a unscrupulous owner taking over a club look at Reading, it might have Mr Marinakis, at the end of the season saying "I'm off, I don't get this hassle with Rio Avenue! ".

20 Mar 2024 09:15:19
Murillo will be the most profitable. Signed for £12 million. We would make a healthy profit on him. Same with Elanga as well. Signed for £15 million. We could make a profit on him also. Then the club can waste it on rubbish.

20 Mar 2024 09:20:53
Murillo on 30 thousand a week 5 year contract even if we go down to championship we wouldn't after getting rid of him on them wages he would only go if a stupid amount of money came in for him.

20 Mar 2024 12:16:23
Very funny derbyred about par for the club in the last 20 years barring a few.

20 Mar 2024 12:24:57
Not about the wages skeggy Jay its about how much we have spent this season when the accounts are submitted in June. Plus last season plus 1 from the championship will be counted as the permitted 3 years, by my reckoning that will mean we will be allowed to lose 83 million. So if we are over budget again it will be see you later alligator to one or 2 players. Plenty of admirers for Murrilo and MGW. As we know loyalty in football is dead, can't see them 2 wanting to stick around if any of the top 7 come lurching like vultures even if we weren't in FFP trouble. The elite will always win " us small clubs just have to suck it up, make these players better players then let those knob scratches cherry pick who they want
. At least we will make a small profit which we can then waste on crap.

20 Mar 2024 12:54:28
I know what it's about Clough daddy same as it was for Johnson but we still hold all the cards to how much we get for him same as Johnson we don't after take peanuts for him or we keep him and sell mgw it would be the latter for me anyway we will be staying up so not really a concern.

20 Mar 2024 14:16:53
Well let's hope your right. Don't matter how much we hold out for though mate if a player wants offski then so be it, get rid. No point in keeping a player if he wants to go. Anyway my point wasn't about how much we get but having to sell because we overspent massively because our owner acted like a brat in a sweet shop. So it could be one or both that go, maybe none but I can see us selling at least one. Personally I think MGW will be happy to stay for the time being but think Murrilo who's been here a season would knock. on the door saying he wants to go if any of the top clubs come sniffing. Fight relegation at a new prem club or play chsmpions league football and have a chance of silverware. Loyalties don't exist anymore pal.

20 Mar 2024 14:46:11
Nobody's going to buy old chandelier legs Awoniyi. He's a total dud 10 games a season if all goes well.
We're stuck with him sadly but we're not going down anyway so roll on next season. This one's dead in the water for the second time in 2yrs. When you look how crap West Ham were last season and look at there league position now. Why couldn't we do that. We spent more money. Thank you Mr Cooper?.

20 Mar 2024 14:47:36
I know that there's only loyalty to money and I'm not sure about the fact mgw would be happy to stop here more than the fact I couldn't see any of the big teams making a move for him wouldn't say he's had a great season so far Murillo on other hand would get the pick of top 6 clubs but has I said at the right price pal.

20 Mar 2024 16:31:16
Someone still doesn't understand that the manager doesn't buy the players at forest.

20 Mar 2024 19:08:06
We don't know that we would need to sell players, we have some big earners off the books at end of June with their contracts up
Journalists won't know the current financial situation of forest or other clubs, they are just assuming
They might be right, but then again they could be wrong.

20 Mar 2024 21:51:38
You predict it 79 your always wrong ?.

20 Mar 2024 22:29:50
Where is there a prediction in my post?

19 Mar 2024 22:32:43
If we are fortunate enough to survive will we revert to type and start bringing in more poor over priced players instead of preparing in a measured assured way.
I tend to think our over ambitious owner and his lieutenant, s will just just get carried away again and it will be rinse and repeat.
CARLO.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 22:58:55
So you wish for a new owner?
Good luck with that carlo
No one buys a club worth nothing like forest unless they have ambition
The big man has that.

19 Mar 2024 23:26:06
If we survive it won’t be fortunate we will have earned it,

20 Mar 2024 07:25:33
I suppose you’re right Stevie but I don’t think we are any better than the teams that will come up from the championship so next season looks a struggle as well.
We are desperate for an identity and a way of playing.

20 Mar 2024 10:19:19
The big man has an ego, that is called blind ambition and usually as in this case leads to trouble.
CARLO.

20 Mar 2024 11:42:07
Carlo nobody had a bigger ego than Brian clough, don’t suppose you ever moaned about him, not many shrinking violets make billion dollar fortunes,

20 Mar 2024 12:24:52
The owner has his faults, no question about that but what’s done is done. I see Murillo m g w and Elanga going even if we stop up. But that should leave enough cash to buy a couple of replacements. It’s quality not quantity that we need.

20 Mar 2024 12:56:36
The doom and gloom why do you see all these players if we go up there all on long contracts and if they are sold it will be for good money so not the end of the world.

20 Mar 2024 12:58:58
Never said I want a new owner, like the current one to act more responsible, this is England not Greece.
Sir Brian was much better with PT, he reined his ego in, but different times.
CARLO.

20 Mar 2024 13:15:55
Good post Carlo.

19 Mar 2024 18:46:38
Dodged a bullet, get on with it. I more than admire luton for giving it a go. Ok we've pressed forward a little more. But to quote a couple. Come on here and help the cause? Lift the city ground etc. The only thing for me is the fact we simply got away with it. Can't see the players or fans going along with nuno. As for coming on here to help the cause what's all that about. We bring a ref in to help us out with what? We can't score goals or defend set pieces. No ref will ever change his or her these days mind. Not that a women would anyway. Big m my old mucker, hero to zero. don't get me wrong still got my FULL respect. But the bitch#s are out now since the cuddly toy of the city ground was taken away. Not saying any of this bad spirited. Just playing the game, SAY WHAT YA SEE.

19 Mar 2024 19:15:35
Bowie Luton have collected 3 points from 24 this Luton “fight ‘ is a bit of a myth.

19 Mar 2024 19:21:58
Agreed stevie, i think i was more going on about there spirit. Never say die.

19 Mar 2024 19:33:00
There a point above us in the league with no money spent ?.

19 Mar 2024 20:01:17
With the greatest of respect Bowie and I have a lot of respect for you, you shoot from the hip and have given me good advice in the past, there is nothing wrong with getting the supporters going. They have to play their part. Because if the worst happens well no one can say we didn't try.

19 Mar 2024 21:55:41
Bowie to be fair mate they folded like a pack of cards at Bournemouth,

20 Mar 2024 01:20:09
Thank you red vale sir, appreciated ?.

19 Mar 2024 18:18:26
Reading between the lines of the Commisions report they said words to the effect that the 4 points was not meant to punish Forest but to redress the balance of fairness towards other clubs. Are they thinking of Luton, like us come up from years in the wilderness. Looking at the rest of the teams they are either long established Prem or "yo yo" clubs in receipt of parachute payments.
The powers that be probably want the Hatters to survive at our expense as a defence against the allegation of inherent unfairness? Ie if Luton can stay within the limits why can't Forest?

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 18:54:24
By that I'd assume they meant, that we broke the rules but the other clubs in the league barring Everton didn't.

19 Mar 2024 19:01:18
Stokey pity the aren’t being fair to the rest of the teams and deducting man c and Chelsea.

19 Mar 2024 19:39:19
We admitted doing it we need to stop crying and move on.

19 Mar 2024 20:31:48
Yes, perhaps DTP, but I think all the other clubs who didn’t break the rules didn’t have to because they were long established in the Prem and in receipt of hundreds of millions quid ( except Everton who still managed to commit a breach). The promoted sides except Luton were in receipt of parachute payments giving them an advantage over other teams in the Championship and a flying start to life in the Prem ( except Sheff Utd who have decided to take a relegation hit and save the money for a Championship campaign next season ( a bit like Norwich did for years )

19 Mar 2024 21:11:53
That's why the efl clubs are happy with the government's new initiative and the premier arent.

19 Mar 2024 22:42:17
Can you get the bin dippers lawyers to give us a hand skeggs
You know that team in blue you support for finding a loophole?

20 Mar 2024 15:24:51
Nothing wrong with finding and exploiting loopholes, DTP. The government are using loopholes so they can continue buying oil from Russia.

19 Mar 2024 16:53:36
Sooo, 4 points deduction ? surely we have had that many took off us by refs that are employed by the premier league. Shall we go after them? We made a mistake by over spending and been punished. So what happens for blatant bad ref decisions ( not talking onside off side or hand ball not handball) I’m talking moving dead ball chalk, sending off players for world class tackles and bad drop ball decisions when we are seeing a game out. Surely we have to get some points back?‍♂️ oh wait……. Just going to climb out of bed and get my cornflakes ?.

Agree3 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 17:31:32
Obvious that they knew we were going to breach I think they gambled on a poss financial penalty but once everton got done it was always going to be points off

Take it on the chin n crack on and raise the roof last few home games there's a good few games we can win at home but we need to stay with them even if we concede first.

19 Mar 2024 19:08:57
Need to make it white hot for Dubai oil fc, cheating for years without sanction, ?.

19 Mar 2024 16:43:32
I ve posted on here before that our owner is almost entirely to blame for our predicament regarding the points deduction. For all the good things he has done for our famous club and massive investment etc the FFP shambles is an example of irresponsible and cavalier football club owners.
It came out in evidence that Mr M deliberately ignored his Finance Director s advice that the club was heading for a breach and he over rode it.
Also, the NFST has released a statement saying that, in numerous meetings with the Forest hierarchy they were repeatedly assured that everything was under control and they would avoid FFP punishment. This is a matter of public record and indisputable.
As I concluded before, in the words of the Trojan High Priest Laocoon in Virgil's Aeniad "Never trust a Greek even when he comes bearing gifts" ( in this case the huge Trojan Horse and we know how that turned out).

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 17:42:59
Great post Stokey. Love the allusion at the end. I see Mr M proudly presenting NFFC with the Golden Fleece on the Argo moored at Trent Bridge, except this time maybe it was just glitter without any honour!

19 Mar 2024 18:07:42
Excellent Norfolk mate! ???
Thinking about it, is Mr Marinkinakos just Icarus in disguise, punished for trying to fly too high and too near the Sun?
Bowie, if you spot this post mate here’s a quiz teaser ( and for the rest of you if you’re so minded. What’s the link between Icarus and David Bowie? ???
Just as a footnote, our deduction has certainly got the pundits and media circus talking about the iniquity and in built unfairness of the Premier League, especially in relation to newly promoted teams with no parachute payments like us ( uniquely).

19 Mar 2024 18:31:29
The labyrinth stokey, greek myth I'd imagine?

19 Mar 2024 19:04:34
Stokey the Greek has steered us back into the top flight after nearly a quarter of a century though, the prudent late mr doughty failed time and again,

19 Mar 2024 19:09:47
Maybe the Greek myth (ed) out on how to use a calculator Bowie!

19 Mar 2024 19:31:28
You've lost me Norfolk is this for another crystal ?.

19 Mar 2024 20:33:47
Good point Stevie as long as the big man’s ambition doesn’t lead us straight back down again. Personally I think we be ok but it will be tight mate!

19 Mar 2024 20:53:27
Good call Bowie, with the Labyrinth being invented by Daedalus the father of Icarus. But the more convoluted link starts with the painting “Landscape with Icarus Falling” by Bruegel the Elder, Dutch Old Master circa 1560. In 1938 the poet WH Auden visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels where he was living at the time where he saw the painting and was so taken with it wrote the poem “Museum des Beaux Artes” about it.
Fast forward to the 1970s where the British film director Nicholas Roeg read the poem then saw the painting and became obsessed with the myth of Icarus.
In 1976 he made his film version of the story but with a sci fi vibe and called it “The Man Who Fell to Earth” starring your man David Bowie who was also fascinated by the story as it fitted in with his alter ego Ziggy!
Although Bowie later said he couldn’t remember much about the making of the film because he was taking at least 10 ozs of cocaine daily to combat his anxiety problems!
Amazing story 400 years in the making!

19 Mar 2024 21:04:39
Sorry Bowie, just a bad pun about out owners apparent poor maths over this!

19 Mar 2024 22:30:47
What's the point getting upset
It's not scholar, doughty or fawaz in charge
He didn't expect to be fighting a relegation fight with the players he bought in and neither did I tbh
So wasn't concerned about a possible points deduction?

20 Mar 2024 10:45:07
Good information there stokey. Thank you ?.

19 Mar 2024 11:59:42
4 wins and we stay up simple as we are in a league of 4 imo

Forest
Brentford
Everton
Luton

We've got to ensure we don't finish bottom as we we still got to play Everton Palace Sheff Utd and Burnley our fate is in our hands

We can and will do it COYR.

I've got an idea why don't we all try getting on on this site and getting behind our team
Yes we all can have differing opinions but now is the time more than ever for us red fans to stick together.

Agree5 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 08:18:10
All we have to do is beat Palace and Fulham at home and we will be five points clear of Luton
They won't get any points from spurs and arsenal in their next two games and that's a cert.

19 Mar 2024 11:09:13
Mate I say this every year;we are entering the Crazy Phase of the season, form gos out the window.
Nothing is certain, just watch it all unfold.

19 Mar 2024 13:01:46
Crazy is right, plenty of twist and turns, not a fan of Bournemouth but that game with Luton, they could have just given up. But turn's out they did us a big favour.

19 Mar 2024 06:32:23
If you want a fair and honest assessment of the points deduction listen to Simon Jordan. He’s never usually far from the truth.
As many have pointed out the situation would, we hope, act as a galvanising force bringing the players closer together. However if it does not, and we continue to struggle under Nuno, the place will become toxic. I will cheer the lads on no matter who manages or owns the club, but I can’t help but feel we have all been let down so badly. Surely the club knew the rules, we aren’t a special case and to the Premier League we are just another promoted championship club. Our history counts for nothing.
The crazy thing is, the FFP brought in to “protect” clubs may well be the dagger in the back that sends us down. Hardly what it was designed for - and should we get relegated with, reportedly no relegation clauses in players contracts, we would be dead and buried.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 07:01:11
I can't help but think that the moneymen within the club thought we were allowed to lose £105 million over 3 years instead of the £60-odd million that we were actually only allowed to lose. Hench, why we were being told by the club that everything was under control. Mistake? Incompetence? Or just bad money management?

19 Mar 2024 07:41:57
At the end of the day whoever is in charge of finances got it wrong we got away with 4 points we've lost a lot more than that from winning positions so let's put it behind us now it's down to Nuno and the players to do there job and get us results.

18 Mar 2024 23:39:56
A lot of this board is so negative, we're still just about in the best position as a club we've been in for a quarter of a century, no matter what this corrupt league has thrown at us, we have a fighting chance of staying up and ramming it down their throats, it should bring the whole club together, then I look at some of the stuff on this site and wonder,

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 08:55:32
4 point deduction in my view is neither here or there. We have matches on paper that we should win against those around us and some other teams who are going no where in this league up or down. If we don’t survive it will be mainly down to the players not giving their all. We are just in the relegation mix and could easily be out of this after the next match.

19 Mar 2024 11:30:46
Your right doc, could have been a lot worse 6or even 8 points, just wonder how many Everton will get. The players have to put in a shift in. I’d like to see Filipe and domingez back if fit more so with Filipe he has a calm laidback attitude that will be important for the rest of the season. But the fans must get involved, let the players know were behind them.

19 Mar 2024 12:22:45
We can only comment and react to what we see on the pitch, Stevie. It doesn't fill many with confidence. It's been the same story in the last 4 matches. Poor finishing and strange choice's by the coach. Terrible at set-pieces, as well, from both an attacking and defensive perspective. We need to change that quickly.

19 Mar 2024 13:49:22
How do we change the set pieces attacking as well as defending quickly sir Brian 77 we've been the same at them for 2 seasons how do you think you could change that over the next 9 games when 2 coaches and a new set piece coach can't.

19 Mar 2024 17:33:14
Tell Yates to stop shoving people in the back be a good start

Tell Morgan to put a decent delivery in.

18 Mar 2024 20:07:42
So if Brennans sale wasn't included in this time period does that mean we've now got 45 million to play with in the next load of accounts? If we stay up we might be able to sign some new players ??‍♂️.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2024 20:44:38
God help us if we can - that’ll be Another 45 million. Wasted- please put us under a transfer embargo for a few seasons.

18 Mar 2024 20:45:48
It's impossible for a fan to understand the complexity of football finances mate
Should just say a club can't lose money?
Then football is no longer
It's pathetic and the rules are changing as they are out of date
TV tell us that when we went to Wembley it was a 200 million pound game for the winner?
They don't tell you are on your own with the other two promoted in a situation where you can't lose the same as the rest of the league.

18 Mar 2024 21:32:51
2tone don’t forget we got sangare at the same time as Brennan left,

18 Mar 2024 21:57:15
They are talking about changing the rules, so all bets are off.

The Johnson transfer money would have been included in accounting for the last season in the Championships and the two in the Prem. However, we spent a lot more in the last two than the penultimate season in the Championships but will have an extra year of the higher losses allowed. Confused? Exactly!

Meanwhile, Man City broke up to 100 rules years ago and 2 other teams are potentially going to be relegated for a relatively minor offence. Go figure.
