May I commend an excellent and very moving report on BBC Football site about Forest fans experience at Hillsborough. Ed 1 you have probably read it already but just to give you the heads up mate.

{Ed001's Note - I did look at that but I tend not to read stuff about it to be honest. I find it brings back too many bad memories.}

That’s very understandable Ed. Terrible loss of innocent life. I remember the day well. I didn’t go to the game as my daughter was just a few days old. But where I lived at the time with my first wife at Underwood Nottinghamshire was literally a minutes walk from a pub called the Red Lion. The landlady at the time was a daughter of a Forest FA Cup winner and legend Jeff Whitefoot. It was a Forest pub and coach’s would pick up fans from there.
I remember listening to the match in the radio then hearing it had been paused then abandoned because of injured fans. It was only in later news bulletins that the true enormity of the disaster unfolded.
It was a sunny day and we took our daughter in the pram down to the Pub to sit outside for a drink. Then we saw the coach pull up and noticed the normally lively fans were very sombre and quiet. Most would usually have popped in for a pint before going home but not this time. We knew something bad had happened and were shocked as the numbers of the dead rose and rose ….

{Ed001's Note - my uncles were there, one ended up in the middle of it, I was meant to go with them but we got let down on my ticket. I mostly remember sitting there with me ma in tears as her two brothers were missing and the death toll was rising. In those days no one had mobile phones or anything. We just had to wait. It took them until late in the night before they were able to get to a phone and call to let anyone know they were ok. Neither of them have been the same since and have gone from being at every game, home and away, to being irregular matchgoers despite having season tickets. They both say it is not the same after that.}

Ed, sincere thoughts with all fans effected. Lived here for 27 years, awful day.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Scouse.}

12 Apr 2024 17:22:36
We we're there and realised what was happening so went down to the gate and showed our firstaid cards but the police man said he couldn't let us through so went out the ground but couldn't get near. It was an horrific sight felt weird going home.

12 Apr 2024 18:59:07
I was playing for a local football team that day, the news broke on an old Transistor Radio that someone had pitch side. one by one we just stopped playing. and just sat down together and listened to the tragedy unfolding RIP the 97.

12 Apr 2024 22:01:07
My cousins were both there, fuc4ed up day.

12 Apr 2024 07:36:07
Wood will score goals if either HO or Elanga centre after good wing play. Elanga did this against Tottenham and Wood scored. That is why I would drop HO against Wolves and start Reyna instead. If Boly is fit he should partner Murillo in my opinion.

12 Apr 2024 13:54:56
I’d go with Boly ( if fit) as well mate instead of Obamadele. Apart from power and aerial ability ( to cover for Murillos lack of height) he’s got experience plus he will want to do well against his old club.

12 Apr 2024 14:46:19
I’d also have Yates as the first name in any team of mine mate. Before all the arty fancy architects and schemers can build anything you need a hod carrier and enforcer.

12 Apr 2024 19:29:02
Sorry Dominguez all day long for me.

12 Apr 2024 19:46:52
Yates is a liability.

12 Apr 2024 20:31:40
Do like the lad but he had very poor game last week. will be abrave Manager to pick him ahead of others.

A bit 'left field' I know - but does anyone, including Eds, remember how long Cooper's new deal was for and how long we contracted Nuno for? Assuming that we are still paying Coops and hoping that we signed Nuno on a shorter deal - I'm just thinking it could be a great move both results-wise and financially, to ditch Nuno and plead with Coops to come back to steer us out of the route to potential relegation (again).

10 Apr 2024 19:44:26
We don’t believe in fairy tales on here!
???‍♀️?‍♀️
CARLO.

10 Apr 2024 19:52:35
We'll have paid up coopers contract in full and added a NDA and gardening leave til end of this season

Sure Nuno came in on 18 months deal and on more than cooper was on

Can't go back though mate never be the same look at the nutcase Billy Davies second coming.

10 Apr 2024 21:10:18
I think it would give both the players and the fans a massive lift to have Coops back again, even temporarily. Maybe I've been mixing my glue-sniffing with amphetamines too much again - but if I was the Greek that is what I'd go for.

10 Apr 2024 21:34:42
Us men of a 'certain age' well-remember the fairy-tale that Forest performed all those years ago Carlo! Fair point RedStripe about going back - but Billy was a nutter. Coops isn't.

10 Apr 2024 22:56:44
Cooper had no plan B he shot his bolt. It wouldn’t give me a lift having him back. Now let’s look at wood. Cooper never played him, he would play without a striker and leave wood on the bench. Great judge. I’ll leave it there.

11 Apr 2024 05:50:38
If cooper came back we would be replacing a slightly less regimented low block with…. The mother of all low blocks. Nothing has really changed under Nuno, the results are equally as bad if not worse.

11 Apr 2024 07:04:43
Oh dear things me be getting really desperate ? red Fred put on discussion site a great post that explains why cooper went let's move on ?.

11 Apr 2024 09:20:17
That’s right Carlo, we only do make believe pubs on this site mate! ?????.

11 Apr 2024 11:17:21
Awonyi nearly fit, hope this isn’t another fairy tale ??‍♀️??‍♀️
CARLO.

11 Apr 2024 18:42:03
Always an interesting and perceptive read Ed1. ??I watched the game and all Liverpools first half dominance was undone by a slack pass and a first time bit of Fernandes skill.
It got the crowd back onside and was a turning point definately.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Stokey. No point dominating unless you put the ball in the back of the net though.}

‘Not season defining’ ‘A must win game’ a couple of sayings I hear and see a lot.

Maybe this is where we are going wrong, everything is season defining and every game is a must win game.

Mindset is everything.

We won't beat Wolves if Origi plays - he is unable to score a goal in a professional football match! Whoever loaned him to us knew this and couldn't justify paying his wages. Any manager's advice to him should be to pack up football and maybe try something like American football where a big lad with a bit of pace might have a chance?

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Apr 2024 13:48:21
Disagree with that statement. He is a classic player and can score, just lacking confidence. A player with his prem experience could influence or score a critical goal at this end of the season. In saying that, we have lots of other options that have been working.

09 Apr 2024 14:41:03
Have you seen what Origi is capable of? If Origi clicks, we will stay up, it's as simple as that.

We have not been lucky with him so far with fitness and form, but that lad is one of the best players in our squad if things drop into place.

09 Apr 2024 14:59:39
I look forward to it with mouthwatering interest, but I'm not holding my breath.

09 Apr 2024 15:10:40
Never rated the bloke didn't score that many for Liverpool seeing as though the talent he had around him then he's ok to bring off the bench.

09 Apr 2024 15:17:16
Defo don't hold your breath. His confidence is clearly floored. But it's obvious why the boss has tried to get him on the pitch more, he's capable of completely smashing it. Shame how it turned out.

09 Apr 2024 16:09:40
Blokes crap and we chucking over £100k a week on him, living 9ff his super sub appearance for the scouse

Needs to at least hit one winner to go a way to justify the 5mil wages we've spunked at him.

09 Apr 2024 16:11:41
If Origi is your go to player it’s looking pretty grim.
CARLO.

09 Apr 2024 16:21:11
Who said anything about go to player? The boss wants to get him on the pitch because he could be the difference. Tis what I'm saying.

But he isn't a crap player. He's a player whose confidence and fitness have been screwed.

09 Apr 2024 16:34:17
The boss or who knows might want him on the pitch but I, ve seen absolutely nothing that’s make me want him on the pitch, couldn’t hit a barn door.
CARLO.

09 Apr 2024 18:27:44
Not going to stag him off. just think he's not up to it. misses too many.

09 Apr 2024 18:37:36
Should give the Ribero lad a bit more time also.

09 Apr 2024 19:33:48
Of course Nuno wants Origi on the pitch- he’s clueless and probably thinks he’s a World Cup winner or something.
Bloody clown of a manager.

09 Apr 2024 21:58:16
You still sulking redfrog because we ain't in bottom 3.

09 Apr 2024 23:36:04
Anyway lads my birthday tomorrow big 53 balloons his taking me out for free beers all night great bloke he his and a big miss off this site also Bowie another great miss off this site heart of gold and never thought I would say it but I have no one to argue with my little flat pack 79 ?.

10 Apr 2024 07:21:41
I spend thousand of pounds a year following Forest. Why would I want to see us in the bottom three Skegs? The irony of being criticised by an armchair fan who’s probably a Derby supporter anyway. Your just trolling now.

10 Apr 2024 09:31:26
Im not that stupid to spend thousands of pounds on something I don't enjoy watching mate as every time we play you find something negative ? find something else to do pal that you would enjoy spending your money on ?.

Well Everton given a further two point deduction- I was hoping they would get more ?
Been a few very bad days for us, other results going against us and a bit of a drubbing at spurs. Let’s hope we turn it round against wolves, if we don’t then I guess we really are in the mire.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Apr 2024 08:45:22
Even if we lose against wolves it still won't be has bad as you like to make out it will go to the wire Luton have no chance of picking points up against city and Brentford and Everton are still in with a shout of getting in bottom 3 so I'm not panicking at the minute ?.

09 Apr 2024 12:09:38
Skegs I Agree mate, some really pessimistic stuff on here. I think we’ll beat wolves,

09 Apr 2024 12:30:58
I have to agree with you Skaggs as well, wolves aren’t as good as they seem, we can get something at Everton and them up in South Yorkshire. I even think Chelsea are doable if the crowd can get behind the team.

09 Apr 2024 12:36:05
Hey Stevie April fools as gone ? all depends again on what team he puts out and what tactics he sets us up with we have the players to win this game and as far as I know the first team strikers are out injured for wolves.

09 Apr 2024 13:25:35
Skegs I’ve always said if you say something I agree with I’ll say so,
