ff79 makes a great point re mackay. I think he has potential as a play maker. Early doors he was sliding players in with his vision. Tomlin filled this role but is expensive. Be a shame not to give mackay a good chance in a better side!

Were you at the PNE game pal? It’ll take a lot for him to win fans over after that. I’m not saying if that’s right or wrong it’s just how football fans are built. He’s got talent for sure though.

16 Jun 2018 13:52:35
Yay another midget to help to stop conceding from set pieces, and will give up when things don't go his way even when he was playing well at the start of the season never tracked back or tried to win the ball back

16 Jun 2018 08:29:45
Just read an article written by a Peterborough Journalist about Jack Marriott.
He describes him as small yet fast.
Scores goals from within the 18yard area and needs to be supplied balls from a flowing team. Interesting to hear this.
Personally I think grabben would be the preferred option to karankie.
Do we need another small player who needs a supply into the box?
We already have 2 lightweights in Cummings and MCkay. Thoughts please!

Agree5 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 09:55:54
Think Cummins and McKay will be gone before the season starts so count them out of the equation. I would still like to have Marriott on board but think the price tag quoted is too high. However, say 3 million, and 2 or 3 from our unwanted list, say Walker, Grant, Clough, etc, makes it seem a better proposition. Not only would we be getting the hottest striker of the moment, but we are crossing off three salaries from our wages account. Just my opinion.

16 Jun 2018 10:44:59
Seems like there desperate to get rid of him but nobody is taking the bait yet.

16 Jun 2018 11:09:51
They need to be more realistic about the price.

16 Jun 2018 12:04:19
Just have a bad feeling about him can't see him playing the lone striker role now Peterborough men are backing that worry up with there analysis guess I'm just fed up with our lack of physical presence last season

16 Jun 2018 12:08:44
Red James, we might play 3-5-2 at home if we got him.

16 Jun 2018 13:48:37
Karanka definitely needs to play 2 upfront at home.
We don't seem so sure bout soudani and Marriott cutting it in championship. So why don't we go for someone like Danny ings. He is over his injury and made several sub appearances for Liverpool end of season
But I'd only going to be bench warmer for them
He would be ideal on loan with view to buy.
Liverpool would probably pay half his wages so would be worth gamble. Scored over 30 in championship for Burnley still young

16 Jun 2018 13:55:33
True but then if around 8 mill could get vydra think 6.5 is just way over priced for one good season in the 3rd tier plus you know how many ridiclaus clauses they will want in the agreement

16 Jun 2018 14:59:52
Ings is back from injury but is he really over his injuries?hes been injured for about 3 years since joining Liverpool.we won’t be able to tell till he’s starting games as to weather he’s over them or not.its a big risk taking him on especially with our injury history.
Not sure what the fascination with Marriott is,he may well do ok in the champ but £6.5 is a big gamble when you could prob get vydra for around the same and we know he can score goals in this league

16 Jun 2018 17:15:23
Ings on loan if he gets injured he goes back. If he stays fit he takes us to prem win win.

16 Jun 2018 18:40:09
It’s not as easy as that.if he’s on a season long loan and picks up niggles you can’t send him back, only if he picks up a long term injury I think.

Review Of The Day 16th June 2018

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2018 16:02:14
I'd take vydra over marriott.
He's a proven goal scorer.
Give the sheep a cheeky bid and forget marriott.

15 Jun 2018 21:17:51
It looks to me like Barrie McKay is frightened to step out of his comfort zone. He's weighing up his options rather than sign for Olympiacos.

Agree8 Disagree0

15 Jun 2018 22:19:22
The lad is very talented, just needs the right coach to fulfil his potential.
He cost us next to nothing and showed quality early doors.
You don't suddenly become crap.
Plenty more need to be shown the exit door ahead of him.
Or has he smelt a rat??

15 Jun 2018 22:47:23
What a player Clough & Taylor would have made him into.

15 Jun 2018 23:18:56
Never a truer word Carlo.
Cloughie would have loved him and made another wee Scotsman a genius

16 Jun 2018 02:17:42
You mad!? Clough would have cancelled his contract! McKay started well but after he hit a dip in form and got dropped he never looked interested, stopped tracking back, stopped passing to team mates and was awful, literally put in some of the most pathetic performances I have seen in Garibaldi towards end of last season, he is a pre Madonna, lazy and got a poor attitude. Personally think Clough would have sacked him off just as quick if not quicker than Karanka has!

16 Jun 2018 07:45:10
Dont rate him then redrascal !!!😂

16 Jun 2018 08:31:46
He plays when he feels like it and when he's good. Which isn't often. He's good but when he can't be bothered. Need I say more!

16 Jun 2018 09:15:06
Clough would never have signed him.

16 Jun 2018 08:47:59
He will be angling for a move back home to Mummy and hoping Gerrard will take him back?

16 Jun 2018 10:17:09
It demonstrates to me how fragile confidence can be and how massively it affects a players performances on the pitch.Truly great players never doubt their own abilities even when things aren't going well for them. Some see this as a sign of arrogance.I personally do not.Not so great players need the help and guidance of their manager to encourage them to have belief in their own abilities.Whilst Karanka seems tactically astute he can also get players to perform at a confident level within the team. Confidence can allow technical skills to improve and in turn this leads to increased confidence. It becomes self perpetuating! Performances improve, goals are scored, games are won, promotion is gained! We shall be "very good,it's that simple"! YOU REDS!!!!!

16 Jun 2018 12:09:51
He is a coward if he's gives up this opportunity. Cummings and Mckay are massive disappointment. Their attitude is a disgrace.

15 Jun 2018 20:47:11
Ronaldo has just shown why he's the best footballer in the world.
Pure class

Agree4 Disagree7

15 Jun 2018 20:54:35
Messi is the best player in the world in my opinion

15 Jun 2018 21:01:20
Done it in more than that Micky mouse league unlike messi

15 Jun 2018 21:03:32
TRM, How often has Messi produced at World Cups

15 Jun 2018 21:49:52
I prefer Messi as a player because he doesn’t make everything about him. There’s no doubt both players are the best of the current generation but I favour Messi based on how he is as a person and that shows when he plays. He is more of a team player than ronaldo and I prefer that but just my opinion.

15 Jun 2018 22:11:24
Win at all costs. Messi has 5 world cup goals while before today Ronaldo had 3 so neither has set any world cup alight.

15 Jun 2018 22:22:54
Portugal would be useless without him.
Like Messi too,but Ronaldo has the edge for me.

15 Jun 2018 22:23:39
Without performance enhancing drugs messi wouldn’t be where he is today.

15 Jun 2018 22:25:26
Red Fred, fair point.

15 Jun 2018 22:27:25
Sutton really??
It's so simple to get away with those sort of things??🤔

15 Jun 2018 22:47:05
Without him taking growth hormone at a younger age and when he signed for barca he would of been a 4ft tall little google on him about taking hgh.

15 Jun 2018 22:58:53
Ronaldo 3, Spain 3. Messi is more one dimensional, Ronaldo can do it all.

15 Jun 2018 23:11:20
Ronaldo without a doubt for me,rather than messi. I simplify things in my own head, and if I was playing football or going to war I'd pick Ronaldo first!!
As for Forest can't wait for the new season, rather than just treading water we look like we are going for it. After so many seasons of disappointment, come on you red dogs let's be glass half full and get behind this great club of ours, and you never know it might just happen!! If it doesn't we cut our cloth and start again.
Come on you reds, onwards and upwards!!!!

15 Jun 2018 23:22:29
He's not much bigger than four foot now.
Pants must have an overdose?🤣🤣🤣

16 Jun 2018 06:17:16
Apparently he’s 5ft 8.its not just used to help with his height other benefits include better recovery more energy.he was given a pass on theraputic grounds but it hasn’t been said weather he is still taking it or not.
So is messi really naturally the best In the world?like I said without this drug he would be a lot smaller and less developed.

16 Jun 2018 08:34:18
It's an Argentinian thing been small.
Maradona was also on juice to help him grow taller etc. If he was an inch smaller the hand of god would never of occurred.

16 Jun 2018 08:36:59
Very interesting Sutton .I didn't know any of that.👍

16 Jun 2018 08:51:17
I hear our medical team have purchased a rack to stretch our new £13m maestro into a £20m+ giant!

16 Jun 2018 09:46:36
Fawas bank balance, if the officials had gone to the optometrists Peter Shilton would have been saved the embarrassment of it being allowed.

16 Jun 2018 09:53:40
He will get a ribbing for that.

16 Jun 2018 10:14:39
This isn’t why I won’t regard messi as one of the best in the world.dont get me wrong he’s talented but if he was smaller due to not taking growth hormone would he be as good?i very much doubt it’s ronaldo for me

15 Jun 2018 20:42:57
The stumbling block to signing Pantilimon is the wages be wants, tell him to do one Forest.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jun 2018 20:51:42
Sign him up Bruce.
He ain't worth big wages

15 Jun 2018 23:03:59
Dont think villa are in a position to offer him big wages either 😕

15 Jun 2018 23:30:06
That's a shame really don't want to see him in goal next season.
And if it's all about being fourth choice at Watford on good bucks or being first choice with us and being on less.
Then we don't want his sort.

16 Jun 2018 08:45:30
FF799 - who's your alternative for the same price?

16 Jun 2018 09:04:43
He is being signed primarily for his distribution and presence which none of our recent keepers have been anyway near as good.
As for being 4th choice at Watford that just reflects the revolving door policy with managers rather his ability.
Pants is the only player in our squad with a Premier League winners medal so thankfully there are better judges of goalkeepers than Ff799!

16 Jun 2018 12:25:24
Pants is pants.
That's why he's had more clubs than Rory mcllroy

15 Jun 2018 18:15:48
As a Forest fan born and living in Reading (hence who knows why) I don't get to see many games other than what's on TV. Does anybody think that amongst the players likely to go there may be one or two who may be much better with more quality around them?

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jun 2018 19:25:21
Heard on the grapevine,Marinakas is also sponsoring us with his shipping company. let's hope it doesn't turn into an "Oar" Deal!!! 🚣🚣🚣😂😂😂

15 Jun 2018 20:18:37
What ever floats your boat Rogie!

15 Jun 2018 20:38:00
How can the owner be a shipping magnet, nothing sticks to him.

15 Jun 2018 20:38:42
As long as they all pull together 😁😁

16 Jun 2018 00:20:59
I heard he's sponsoring wrestling??
That could easily go belly up.😁😁😁

16 Jun 2018 02:26:56
Think many of our young lads have done well in recent seasons with huge weight in their shoulders (since they have been our best performers and some fans have turned on them when they have gone through poor runs) and with more quality and competition in the squad next season I think a few may improve with a new sense of freedom and less pressure on their shoulders! (I am thinking Brereton, Osbourn, Cash, Yates, Worrall and Smith for sure and might see better from Bridcutt and Bouchalakis too as both looked much improved when bought back into team in last few games when confidence was back in the squad! )

16 Jun 2018 07:38:59
Karanka won't keep Bridcutt or bouka.

16 Jun 2018 08:48:55
WKW - to answer your question, yes. Players with some ability always look better around better players. Unfortunately some of our current team haven't got another gear in them so can't be made to look better. However, I think the likes of Brereton and Cash will benefit massively.

16 Jun 2018 11:29:50
Well done you Punslingers!!!

15 Jun 2018 17:03:09
If we continue to bring the players in we've been linked to.
Clarke Potts Clayton Maddison
Tomlin Marriott grabbon.
Our owner will be demanding automatic promotion.

Agree3 Disagree0

15 Jun 2018 18:06:43
I just hope we don't spend so much that promotion this season becomes absolutely imperative and we start sacking managers after a couple of iffy performances/results.

15 Jun 2018 18:19:17
Don’t forget Hutton and marney

15 Jun 2018 19:35:41
Who knows why you don't expect the owner to invest a lot of money in the team this season to finish out of the top 6 if he can't do the job with the tools provided for the job like anywhere they will look for someone who can that simple it's business

15 Jun 2018 20:20:18
Sutton don't get me started!

16 Jun 2018 00:24:05
Sutton?? Get him started, this could be very interesting?
I will say this only once😉

16 Jun 2018 00:44:43
What with the size of big mario’s waistline I suggest he gets it all spent before he goes pop.
Tomorrow never comes, there is only the here and now.

All in, please!

16 Jun 2018 08:50:50
I believe automatic promotion is already the target for next season. The club as had a clear shift in plan and have seen an opportunity to pounce whilst others are struggling financially. The money has been put up and AK has one job, to get us promoted otherwise he'll be gone.

15 Jun 2018 15:15:19
Would anyone take Oliveira back at the city ground?

Agree5 Disagree7

15 Jun 2018 17:10:55
Don't think he is prolific enough in all fairness although with the two new boys it could open up a lot more for him. But how much would he cost ? The same as Marriott ?

15 Jun 2018 19:21:17
Yes. I think he is a good attacking footballer who needs to play of a target man. He also tracks back and can play anywhere across the pitch and scores goals.

16 Jun 2018 00:52:30
Jimmy abdoun now that was a player!

It were like watching Pirlo’s mam put her makeup on whilst running for the bus.

15 Jun 2018 15:07:16
Woul 7m bring O B back ?

Agree0 Disagree1

15 Jun 2018 16:00:17
He has a role to play for them now they're in the Champ. They won't sell because they know they'd have to take a big loss on him.

15 Jun 2018 19:22:27
I would not want to buy him but would take him on loan to get him back on track and then renew purchase options next season.
I was never totally convinced he is bright enough to be a top player as he seems very one dimensional but he may have improved with age and the experience in Germany?
