i have it on good authority that glenn hoddle will become the manager and not mick mccarthy, i'd rather have mccarthy though {Ed034's Note - from?

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Nah, Tosh. Can't see Hoddle leaving his academy.

Agree4 Disagree4

Not a chance. Harry Redknapp will be unveiled as manager by Monday morning at the latest. The only reason he distance himself was because he had not received a formal offer. See my post yesterday for sources.

512

Agree6 Disagree6

You can tell you've lied about this when you've not done the research. Hoddle was a deflection done by Darren McAnthony (See his Twitter - @DMAC102) to stop people asking him about Ferguson.

Agree4 Disagree2

What about big Guus?

Agree1 Disagree3

There is nothing that any of us fans can do about who we sign as the new manager but all we can do is stand by the the new owners and trust that they know what they are doing. we just need to get behind the team and help them get back to where we belong and to bring back the glory days. Here's hoping for an exciting season for us. COYR

Agree2 Disagree0

Not bothered who our new manager is or who we sign , as long as we beat D^&*y home and away that would make me very happy

Agree2 Disagree1

Its Mick MCcarthy i posted yesterday that he had signed, players have been told and he is at the Ground ready for press conference. have it from a player.

Agree0 Disagree5

Looking for alittle more than just beating Derby

Agree3 Disagree0

Would be very suprised if you get Harry, he only manages in the south. As a Wolves fan can tell you that you don't want hoddle. The most boring and turgid football in living memory at wolves and that takes some doing.

Agree1 Disagree1

Nottingham forest are set to sign akos buzsaky..heard it here first

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Erd lots of things ere 1st ... Don't make em true booby

Agree9 Disagree1

Not another QPR connection!

Agree3 Disagree1

About 36 hours late by my reckoning..Heard it here first? Don't make me laugh.

Agree5 Disagree2

I've heard this rumour four times already, not exactly heard it here first is it?

Agree4 Disagree0

Not a first, but would be a decent signing. Defo happy with it, if true, which unfortunately, its not.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's quit qpr and looking for a club so you'd never know!

Agree1 Disagree1

He's not good enough for us...aim higher..he's a serial underachiever

Buzsaky to sign for Forest. Fact. {Ed034's Note - How do you know for fact??

Believable2 Unbelievable7

I've heard many things from this source. Just speculation

@a_aljassar: For all #NFFC Fans :

Mr. Al hasawi made an official bids for the kuwaiti triple bader almutawa and Husain fadel and (GK) Khalid alrashidi

Rigby84

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Enquired about them from what iv'e seen on twitter but there coming for a trial and the new manager will decide. I have seen a video of Khalid Alrashidi scoring a goal. Got a good head on him not sure whats he is actually like in goal though. Think I remember John Pelling saying that Smith would be released this summer so may be lining him up as a replacement.

Agree2 Disagree2

All on trials as above said. I've seen Firas al-Khatib (Think it's how you spell it) on YouTube, he looks very fast but you can't be sure of his proper skill as the Kuwaiti league isn't amazing.

Agree2 Disagree0

Thought Al Rashidi was ineligible as he has not played enough for his country.

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree, I think the Kuwaiti player thing is to get them into the squad and gain experience training with the odd substitution before they go back to kuwait

Agree0 Disagree1

McLeish just ruled himself out on sky sports website.... thank goodness.

Believable17 Unbelievable2

That's a relief, just need DF and GH to do the same.

Fawaz to bring 4-5 key players from Kuwait. But next manager will decide whether to sign them. Top guys from what I'm hearing. #nffc

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Yeah that sounds good, at least the manager has the choice and is not going to be forced into signing them.

Kevin Keegan has now come into the betting, lept straight in at 16s, maybe one to watch ... Iconic Name?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

From what I have heard.Redknapp has been in talks with the Al-Hasawi's.Interesting.

Agree8 Disagree4

Where did you get this little nugget from bud?

Agree2 Disagree4

My da's mates with Joe I'll have you Gattuso Jordan!

Agree0 Disagree2

Keegan is unlikely from what I've heard.

Nottingham officially asked Bader Al Mutawa and Hussein Fadel of Qadisiyah and Khalid Rashidi of Arab .. Keita and is subject to the experience of the month.

This is a translation of a tweet that is from a news channel in Kuwait! This is 4 of the possible 5 I believe. I'm Really hoping the 5th is Adlene G.

If your are unsure check my account and see for yourself

RichGreen09

RG09

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Well, at least one of them is a defender.

Agree0 Disagree1

I've just watched the 17 min interview on Forest Player, these players aren't signing they are being brought over on trial but the new manager has the last word.

RG09

Agree3 Disagree0

How are these players going to gain work permits? Kuwait isnt in the top 70 countrys able to get a work placement in the uk in the FA terms.

Agree3 Disagree1

If the criteria are not met:

- Where the player's initial contract was for 12 months or longer and the club have requested a panel, The Football Association will consult with the other relevant football bodies by email. They will ask whether the application needs to be considered at a panel. If the football bodies recommend unanimously they are satisfied that the changes do not need to be considered by a panel, then the case can be processed without one. If any of the governing bodies have concerns with a particular application, a panel will be arranged. See section below on panels.

- Where a player's initial contract was for less than 12 months and the club have requested a panel, it will be arranged as normal.

Nathaniel Chalobah coming too Nottingham Forest on loan for the season, Boss Roberto Di Matteo believes the highly-rated Chelsea centre-back, 17, is ready to play first-team football.

Because of the recent events at Nottingham Forest, Chalobah believes the ambition at the club to get into the Premier League will be the perfect experience and challenge for his start too first team football.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Umm hes only 17...lascelles is better than him {Ed034's Note - could be the youngest ever promotion winning centre back partnership....blimey that's a mouth full

Agree1 Disagree2

I think John Terry was only 19 when we had him on loan and he looked better than anything we had at the time. This kid might be pretty good.

Agree0 Disagree0

But Lascelles is leaving...

Talk is coming in that German National Manager Jochim Loew is set to become the new Manager of Nottingham Forest. he will meet with the new owners tonight and be unvailed tomorrow at the press confrence. Looks like all the other names were only a smoke screen.

Believable3 Unbelievable13

Because he really knows the championship inside out! Its obviously going to be someone who's managed in the league before.

Agree3 Disagree2

They say in the interview that they want a manager with great knowledge and understanding of the Championship. Whilst I'd love Mr. Loew to be appointed, I very highly doubt it.

Agree4 Disagree2

That would be amazing, but I think your dreaming.

Agree4 Disagree1

Usuall any source ? If true then I think i'll raise a beer or two U REDS

Agree2 Disagree0

That's awful

Agree0 Disagree1

Ferguson snr. and Mourino probably have a good understand of the championship. ICONIC?

Former England and Nottingham Forest star, Tony Woodcock, claims Per Mertesacker is viewed very highly by Joachim Loew's coaching team. With claims coming in that Loew could be the man to take Nottingham Forest to the Premier League anything is now possibe with an almost bottomless pit of transfer funds readily availble for Loew to spend.Per Mertesacker could follow suit and join Loew at the City Ground.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Oh wow! that would be very impressive in my eyes. it would send a very strong signal to the rest of the leauge! pitty its a load of cobblers!

Agree2 Disagree3

Per is getting on a bit, but he'll stick with Arsenal for at least another season.

I'm surprised no 1 has mentioned Alan Curbishley yet!! He is the best unemployed manager out there at the moment and he has just turned down the job at birmingham! Unfortunatly though I havent got any confirmation who it's going 2 b but I've heard from various sources that the new manager was chosen last week but won't b revealed til 2mrw and 1 of those sources is now the director of football across the river!! - and he has been laughing how he's been mention that himself will be taking over at forest!!

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Wolves fan here i hope you dont mind me coming on your site alan curbishley apparently was going to be our manager but changed his mind at the last minute he did the same at the blues he left us high and dry hoddle also left us abruptly but credit to mccarthy he put his shift in his favourite saying by the way he s ok for the champ

Agree4 Disagree0

I think there's a reason that Curbishley has been out of work for so long... he's rubbish!

Agree3 Disagree2

AC is unemployed for a reason, how long has he been unemployed for? If he was that good surely a club would have come in for him? Like billy davies I would love to see him back but I cant see that happening. As for the Germany manager why would he leave what hes doing with the Germany team to come to forest. I am a forest fan through and through but I see it being Mick McCarthy. Looking forward to the new season though!

Agree3 Disagree3

Dont want mm {Ed034's Note - Can you say why?? You've got to give the guy done credit, he's got a great record in this division

Agree0 Disagree3

mark d

Agree0 Disagree0

Pants its 7pm have i missed it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Good interview, abdulaziz told it how it is lot of hard work ahead but very positive!

Agree2 Disagree0

This is defo true i live in wales and have used this number to watch emt for years for forest news this is 100% true

Agree1 Disagree0

With the greatest respect Mick McCarthy is not an iconic figure so it cant be him!

Agree2 Disagree0

Go on bbc football website the video is on there

Agree1 Disagree0

Mick McCarthy has just gone fav at ladbrookes

Believable5 Unbelievable4

We'll find out more tomorrow 12.30 but my money is on Mick

Agree6 Disagree4

Nearly fav every where now!

Agree2 Disagree1

Just noticed that the pre season tour to America is OFF. Good move for starters

Agree3 Disagree0

East midlands today interview with the al hasawi brothers - will reconstruct the club. High profile manager to be appointed in days. Very excited- big challenge ahead. Passion with football - several main iconic names with clear understanding of this league. Stand by our side / long business plan.

Agree3 Disagree0

So was redknapp who's next aFerguson mourinio manchini let's get a grip it's a championship club we just avoided relegation could be doing the same next season if we don't get some defenders

Agree2 Disagree1

I wouldnt bank on a manager being announced tomorrow, Fawaz said on the BBC interview 'the next few days'

Agree0 Disagree2

They said they wanted an 'iconic' manager. Mick McCarthy is far from 'iconic'

Surely its going to be someone bigger?..

Agree2 Disagree1

Only three seats set out for press conference tomorrow on bbc

Just seen Kevin Keegan mentioned on twitter, apparently having talks. Don't believe it myself but its just as believable as any other rumour out there.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

I've started to cry....Keegan, Nnooo!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Virtually every manager currently unemployed at the moment has been favourite for the job! Only got to wait till tomorrow to find out who is actually right!

RG09

Agree2 Disagree0

To be honest whoever the manager is needs to spend wisely and win promotion thats the main aim

Agree3 Disagree0

I got a feeling that the new manager is not on any of the bookies list of odds. The Al-Hasawis have suggested that it is an iconic figure. I just hope it is a sensible one that we can get behind as fans and not somebody ridiculous like Maradonna.

Agree6 Disagree1

No thanks! Can still remember when we played city when he was manager and he did nothing but slag us off! From top to bottom.

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love Keegan to be manager it is not going to happen but plays great attacking football a great icon if you don't want to play for him you should not be playing at all!

Agree3 Disagree2

I think the talks with the new manager have taken place and the new man has been waiting in the wings to be announced tomorrow.
Anything on twitter or rumoured is just a smoke screen.

Kevin Keegan! your having a laugh

Agree1 Disagree0

If they have any brains they will interview so don't be surprised if every unemployed manager is linked to the club

Agree3 Disagree1

Hoddles names in the frame now god help us

Agree3 Disagree1

I pray to god it's not maradona. i don't think we will find out tomorrow though. why do people think we will?

Agree3 Disagree0

I don't think the owners have had enough time to seal a deal with any manager, doubt it'll be tomorrow.

Listen closely to the new owners interview. He said something like " a specialist at this level" MM suits that description at Championship level but the Jurys out at prem level.

!2:30 tomorrow may yet bring more surprises. More pleasant ones please Mr H.

My better half works at the crown plaza in nottingham and a Mr R Keane is booked in for Saturday night. Got no reason to mis lead anyone as I am a Mansfield Town fan who also finally has a chairman that wants to go places. Good times ahead for both teams I hope

Believable0 Unbelievable9

Cool story

Agree3 Disagree1

Prob Keanu reeves ?

Agree2 Disagree0

Good imagination but I know for a fact that Roy signs into hotels under the name Rocky Balboa so it my be another Mr R Keane.

Source : my cabbage patch much like this story.

Agree3 Disagree0

So you got Ronald Keane in Nottingham - big deal:)

Agree1 Disagree0

It's Robbie kean,I'm havin a pint with him Saturday

Agree2 Disagree0

If you'd of said tonight I might of been almost nearly convinced....Seeing as he only lives in Cheshire I have no idea why he would have to stay the night in Notts and travel back on a (No news day)sunday?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's always in Nottingham, he's good mates with mcparland

Agree1 Disagree0

Id take charlie mcparland as new manager

I heard that if Hoddle comes then Ray Wilkins will be his number 2. Also heard today that Mathew Upson is prime target for centre back and Captain.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

I hope so that would be a great combo.

Agree4 Disagree6

Who did you hear this from?

Agree2 Disagree2

Would be good if happens bothlike football played the clough way

Agree4 Disagree2

How can you disagree with a question?

Agree1 Disagree3

Hoddle would rock the joint.

Agree5 Disagree4

Hoddle would be good for us possession footy and a good manager didn't he take Swindon to the prem from the 4 the tier?

Agree0 Disagree1

Wilkins doesnt like footie played the clough way...he is a pas it to the side, pass it back, oh err wait a minute pass it back again merchant

Mick McCarthy at city ground now so looks like he's the man

Believable5 Unbelievable11

How u no that

Agree4 Disagree1

No he is not, he is sat having a cup of tea at his home

Agree6 Disagree0

Got back from portugal rather quickly....maybe he teleported

Agree6 Disagree1

The Hasawis are in London. What would McCarthy be at the city ground for if his interview would be with the new owners?

Agree3 Disagree1

Faro flight landed @ i-oopm ema

Agree1 Disagree1

Well a flight from portugal is 2.5-3 hours. He's been mentioned since yesterday and could get back in a morning, so no need for teleportation ;)

Agree2 Disagree1

Sky bet just changed to 15/8 both McCarthy & Hoddle

Agree1 Disagree0

I've heard they've approached Diego Maradona. The new owners became friends while he was at Al Wasl Club.

Agree2 Disagree2

M McCarthy almost rhymes with M Arthur dont it??

Agree1 Disagree4

The kuwaiti's were at City Ground, they just left in a silver minibus. No sign of MM, thankfully.

Agree5 Disagree2

Why thankfully? MM would get us up, hes a good track record in this league, I would say we would be a struggling team with Mick in the top flight, when/if we get to the prem we then have the option to change manager to push on again.

Agree2 Disagree4

The richest kuwaitis in a minibus? ahahah

Agree2 Disagree4

Hope we do get upson but it looks like mccarthy may be the guy in not hoddle but id rather have someone who can get us up to the prem and sign adlene gueioura being a forest season ticket holder i know he is amazing

Agree0 Disagree2

In soome ways its bad becauce he didnt likr guedioura so we can rule out getting him and hes proved that hes good in a forest shirt

Agree2 Disagree0

As good as Pep was, theres plenty of players as good as him in that role, remember money isnt a problem anymore

Agree1 Disagree1

To be fair the minibus was a Merc

The latest news from the Hasawi camp is that Harry Redknap is indeed going to be the next Forest manager!!

Check twitter account to see for yourself Richgreen09

RG09

Believable4 Unbelievable13

No hes not hes been ruled out thats a load of garbage....... {Ed034's Note - It may be garbage what tis bloke has said, but the op is true

Agree4 Disagree5

Check which twitter account?

Agree1 Disagree3

Wow if only... Too good to be true

Agree2 Disagree3

Yep, seen it too....Mmmm we'll see ???

Agree1 Disagree1

Keane to be next manager, will bring some sense of belonging back to the club and some passion into the changing room

Agree5 Disagree9

Ed- you follow twitter accounts, is this gen? {Ed034's Note - As stated above, the post is genuine. As for whether the person who actually wrote it on twitter is telling the truth, I havnt got a clue

Agree1 Disagree2

I didn't think itd be Harry either but he is good mates with SC so turned it down out of friendship but money talks and he said he didn't want Spurs job.....

RG09

Agree3 Disagree0

Would love to see a Forest Team playing like Spurs were last Season. :D

Agree4 Disagree2

Am i looking in the wrong place? this is what I read: 'according to latest news from ALHASAWI , that the next NF Manager will be - Hari the old Manager of NF !!'

seems to suggest it's billy davies. 'the old manager of nf'.

Agree2 Disagree3

Which twitter account said this?? {Ed034's Note - QADSAWIMALAKI

Agree1 Disagree3

Think about this logically. The family have sacked Cotterill only a couple of weeks before pre-season. They need someone who is a free agent so it doesn't take too long (someone signed to a club would take too long approachment, compensation etc) they also need someone who can enforce themselves upon players as soon as they arrive, and they need to have good pedigree. Billy Davies is a free agent, he knows half the squad so he can enforce himself and settle in quite quick, and he's done the best for Forest in a good while. And what better way to get fans on your side being new owners than to hire someone who a lot of fans have sorely missed? Makes sense to me.. {Ed034's Note - I would be very surprised if it was billy, but if it was down to me, he would be my choice

Agree9 Disagree6

That's the right one but he later stated in another tweet it will be Hari Redknap spelt that way! The old manager of NF through me out too.
I'm trying to find out from other sources but its hush hush and theyre not giving much away.

RG09

Agree2 Disagree0

Do you think it might have been a typo and they meant Hart the old manager of NF? It would be good to see what Paul Hart could do with a young side and a decent budget. Its just a wild guess bit hey i would be happy.

Nick the Squaddie {Ed034's Note - No and I wouldn't

Agree2 Disagree2

Billy would be nice - better then Mick but what would billy moan about if he had money!

the kuwaitis want a first class academy so will that fit with Billy

Agree3 Disagree2

Billy was a very good motivator, but as for having the clubs best intrest at heart He certainly didn't have.He dismantled the reserve and youth teams and caused unrest at the club.Young players are the lifeline to any club,We have to produce them and bring them through the ranks.Billy would never give youth a chance He would prefer to go out and buy a player (after all it's not his money He was spending)buying players for £1million and letting them go for nothing those days are over.

Agree5 Disagree4

I'm not on t**tter, but I have been following these pages for the last couple of weeks and it's fair to say that this chap has been quoted a few times. The main one I can remember was him congratulating Fawaz on the takeover, before it was officially announced.

Agree3 Disagree0

I originally thought it was a typo actually meant to be saying Davis, its all on my twitter above the replies are coming from the Kuwaiti club which Haswai was president at and still has ties, they haven't misled up to now, I'm not saying what they are saying is 100% fact I'm just sharing what's been said.

RG09

Agree2 Disagree0

As long as 'Marther' remains at our great club there is no way we would get Billy back. Sad but true.

Agree4 Disagree3

Get Billy Davis back.he knows this division better than any other manager. With some financial investment he could get us there this next season!

Agree4 Disagree5

Surely tho now Pleats gone Billy would come back, if anything I'm sure he was the one who ticked Billy off the most?

Agree4 Disagree1

Please please please can we get over Billy Davies. Yes, he did a good job on the pitch given that when he came in we were Championship strugglers BUT he caused so much disharmony at the Club. If he'd got on with his job without all of the public outbursts and without scrapping the Reserves and trying to scrap the youth teams he may well still be in the job!
I wasn't convinced when Billy was given the job but he turned me round whilst he was there. That said i felt the time for him to go was right. I think that MM is in a similar league to Billy to be honest - he's achieved promotion from this division with two teams and in fairness to him he had a pretty good run with Wolves in the top flight. He might sound dull but he's a straight talker that would get the job done.
I think the Redknapp connection is a red herring to be honest and the only way i'd like to see Redkanpp at the Club is with a strong Director Of Football in place to stop him spending needless amounts of cash. Daniel Levy got things spot on at Spurs by not giving Redknapp too much freedom in the transfer market. A glance at Portsmouth shows the damage he can do with free reign. I'm almost certain they'd swap their FA Winners status to still be in the Premier League now rather than minus ten points in League One.
Personally i would like to see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer given a chance. Good start to his career, ambitious progressive manager for an ambitious progressive Club. Would have a decent pull on players too with the ability to pick out a couple of Norwegian gems for sensible amounts.
LB

Agree5 Disagree3

Will you just let it drop about the poisoned dwarf.

Agree7 Disagree5

On a side issue, I'd love to see Heart back, not as manager but running the ND accademy.

Agree7 Disagree0

I wish people would stop speaking on 'behalf of the fans' Billy Davies was a decent manager, not brilliant tho. lets be honest when Forest played well it was down to him, when we played bad it was because the board werent backing him. He spent £12m in 2 seasons and had 2 failed playoff attempts. Time for new blood, we need to stop living in the past!

Agree5 Disagree3

Perhaps the original tweeter merely meant that Hari (Redknapp) would be the next manager and that he is 'old' which actually he is

Agree2 Disagree0

Bloke n facebook has quoted tht he was coming out club shop and harry was coming out in his 4x4 . dont shoot the messanger but tweeets from emt lady has said that they are still interviewing today

Agree1 Disagree1

If we're talking new fresh managers, why not Bergkamp? Great player and doing well at Ajax?!

RG09

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jul 2012 11:13:27
gianluca vialli wtf!! {Ed034's Note - And keane has just gone to evens at ladbrokes

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I think I would prefer Vialli to just about any of the other people who have been mentioned, including Redknapp. My personal favourite would be Pauolo di Canio.

Agree10 Disagree6

Looks like Roy is returning!

Agree5 Disagree7

I thought Vialli spoke very well as part of the commentary team during the recent 2012 finals and seemed very knowledgeable. He would be my choice ahead of MM at al. Not sure if he does have any history of being a premier league or championship, do you know ED? {Ed034's Note - He managed Chelsea for 2seasons and Watford for one

Agree10 Disagree4

Please get keane in he still loves forest, and he would scare the s@#t out of the players

Agree6 Disagree12

Scaring them isn't what you want, you want the manager to inspire and motivate the players

Agree14 Disagree2

Motivation - Billy! If Pearson can do festa twice (and under new owners) no reason why our favourite wee Scotsman can't come back!

Agree13 Disagree11

Remember Keane kissing the badge, then an hour later saying he was leaving when we were relegated! Done nothing in management. Would you give him your millions to spend? I wouldn't

Agree14 Disagree3

Unfortunately whilst I think Keane has some qualities as a manager i think his negatives outweigh the positives. Keane was a true legend on the pitch as a player but he seems yet to learn that he has to be more approachable and amiable at times as a manager. Not too many players are as good as he was or played at the same standard he played and until he realises that and adapts his approach he may struggle with management.
There's been plenty of names attached the post which shows one thing - no body really knows who is going to get it! Bookies odds fluctuate based on the money they take on a candidate. i.e. lots of people bet on Keane and his odds come down. It's not always a reflection of who is actually in line. Remember Keane was odds on favourite to take over from McClaren and looked who sneaked in there!
If the owners are looking for a credible young coach that can build a solid team and play football the right way then they should go all out to get Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the club. Served his apprenticeship under one Sir Alex Ferguson in Man Utd Reserves before going and building a Championship winning side in his Homeland.

Agree8 Disagree3

Yeah done nothing in management except take a championship team from the relegation zone to promotion to the big time. Not what we want at all ;)

Agree4 Disagree1

Guys - does anyone know whether Hasselbaink is still there? Hope not, the guy is a mercenary.

Agree4 Disagree1

Keane is damaged goods, no recent success just one bad split after another.

Agree5 Disagree1

He also bought Craig Gordon for a record transfer fee for a goalkeeper and he was terrible.

Us and Blackburn linked with season long loan for Barton. A normal Joey Barton is a good player but he can't help himself so no thanks. With the managers situation everybody remembers the 1 mistake that Glenn Hoddle made and not the tremendous football his teams played. I would go for him over others mentioned.

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Just looked up Glenn Hoddle managerial record nothing to write home about all his Wolves games seemed to be draws surely he hass been out the game too long in Spain.

Agree7 Disagree1

Is Hoddle hungry enough. Billy Davies would be. M ON would be great if he was not at Sunderland. Harry Rednapp outstanding ! WHO ! do we want {Ed034's Note - For me I would love billy, but can't see that happening. I can see positives in McCarthy. Hoddle and keane. I can't see any in ferguson though

Agree13 Disagree3

What is it with Billy Davies? He spent alot on very mediocre players, left us lopsided as a squad and didn't have the bottle when it really mattered. Blamed the board for not backing him but the same players were already sat in 2nd position. Billy Davies has no affection for Nottingham Forest but you all go on like he was a brilliant manager. He only likes the sound of his own voice and we must not go backwards.

Agree13 Disagree10

Mccarthy would be very hungry as he would want to prove something after a lot of people doubted him once he left wolves

Agree4 Disagree7

Let's be honest - we've got money it appears so the media are going to link us with these types of the players for the next few weeks.

The manager will be the first signing - cannot see any players signing before then.

Agree2 Disagree0

I always liked Billy Davies, but have been to many away games where we didn't even have a shot on target, Scunthorpe and Sheff Utd absolutely battered us as we played so negeative. Both teams were relegated that year. Uder SC we were winning away from home and struggling to perform at home, surely a more rectifiable situation. MM will get us promoted, but won't really take us any further. I just look at the Alan Pardew situation, where he was an average manager at West Ham, until Newcastle showed a bit of faith in him, and now they are in Europe within 3 years of being in the Championship. We need someone who can utilise the cash. Think I would prefer an Englishman, but just hope we start makng signings soon. Harry Redknapp would be amazing.

Agree8 Disagree1

Billy davies is a hot head and loud mouth who left an unbalanced and poorly motivated squad.

Agree6 Disagree4

Mr D left the squad un motivated when he sacked BD!! They were raring to go up until then.lol

Mick McCarthy verbally agreed two year deal but cannot complete before back from his holidays. May cut short his holiday to come back this evening and try to close beofre press conference tomorrow. My source in Middle East says likely a second press conference on Tuesday as part of a ongoing roll of good news scenarios when player signing also follow next week as owner has already said players in one week. Namely 2 or 3 from Wolves as easist to conclude and keep fans happy as new manager knows he also will not be flavour of the month and this gives owners a chance to offset fans dislike of manager with quick signings for this league. {Ed034's Note -

Believable9 Unbelievable8

If McCarthy does become manager then Pep won't join from Wolves because Pep cannot stand the man!

Agree10 Disagree4

I agree, Pep etc were Cotterills choices.

Agree6 Disagree1

Your source in the middle east? Get real and treat us like human beings.

Agree3 Disagree2

If this is true why is the betting for the managers job has Glen Hoddle at 8/11 surley they would have McCarthy as fav FTID

Agree2 Disagree0

He aint the only one brother! The bloke is just a bully! and is clueless in the Prem. It's proven that dictatorial type of Management will have short term impact only and then its all downhill from there. This is NOT the man who can achieve the long term objectives the new owners are looking for.

Agree4 Disagree3

Workmate says if McCarthy joins expect Steven Ward (Wolves) to sign because they are related!

Agree0 Disagree2

Originally author here, my source in Middle East is my Kuwaiti Distributor's Manager who happens to knwo the GM of his Ace Hardware Business and is also fotoball daft. I am based in Dubai, so treat me with the respect the information I have given on McCarthy- basically do not shoot the messenger!

Agree1 Disagree3

Why does every1 call Adlène Guedioura pep? its getting really confusing as makes me think of Pep Guardiola former Barcelona manager, now theres a rumour to start pep for manager!!

Agree1 Disagree1

You've basically answered that yourself, he is called Pep because Guedioura and Guardiola are very similar names and Pep is easy to use as a nickname or on the pitch

Agree1 Disagree0

Why not just call him addy? If you actually pronounced Guedioura correctly it sounds like GEDioura, where as Guardiola is obviously pronounced GWARRdiola.. IMO addy suits better

Agree0 Disagree3

Does it matter how his name is pronounced? Just get him to sign his name on the bottom of a piece of paper with the word 'Contract' in big bold swirly writing on the top. Worry about what to call him later.

Agree4 Disagree0

McCarthy paid £2m for Guedioura so he does rate him as he does rate Elokobi.
We had the same rubbish spouted when BD became manager re his relationship with Camp and Earnshaw and they ran through brick walls for him!
Fans were also bemoaning BD football style pre Forest.
MM would be a good choice to get us into the Prem!

Agree2 Disagree1

He will not sign for McCarthy

Agree2 Disagree1

Alrite peeps.. Wolves fan in piece. reading ur board and ppl mentioning Hoddle? trust me! u dont want him as manager! he's terrible. left our club in a right mess. loves playing for draws 2. lol. (think we had 21 under him?) dnt rate Roy Keane either. did nothing at Sunderland n spent millions.

Agree3 Disagree0

Pep or McCarthy....thats easy Pep every time he has balls

Mick mcarthy in talks Tommorow! Paul Taylor of the Nottingham post via twitter just announced.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

And he has had a spotless track record over the last few weeks... NOT!

Agree9 Disagree2

Like to have seen SoD stay but if not him Holloway seems a good prospect!!

Agree6 Disagree3

Hoddle 4/9 sky bet .....

Agree4 Disagree1

As long as new manager spends right and gets us promoted i for 1 will be happy

Agree6 Disagree0

I wouldnt mind Poyet good young with a team that plays excellent football

Agree8 Disagree1

I'd like someone young n hungry for success someone like bergkamp whose now at Ajax coaching he wud get us passing n playing the right way

Agree6 Disagree3

Ha ha! Is this the same Paul Taylor who said the rumours of a Kuwati takeover were rubbish? And wrote that yesterday SC was going to be told to "spend big", hours before he was sacked? Taylor is a baffoon who the club clearly do not confide in.

Agree11 Disagree1

I would not like anyone that didnt have a proven track record and definitely not hoddle - clueless and out of touch. There are much better candidates by far. Would be a waste of time and money. Also think its a done deal. The person has probably bee. Advising on players in the background as unusual for a manager not to be involved in signings and apparently new signings will be announced shortly.

Agree3 Disagree2

Ok here is a short list of managers m mc carthy G hoddle B davies, im leaning more toward billys return fact he has been out the press for awhile and not much mention of him, this to me states he has already signed and has had to stay confidential, possible why deal taken a bit longer to complete. watch this space tomorrow. if it is not then give the new manager chance because the new owners know if its not working they will not last 5 minutes, they are showing us they are not messing around and mean big buisness.

Agree3 Disagree3

No point of renaming the academy if billy comes back - he did everything he could to shut it down.

Agree6 Disagree0

To the second poster, I follow him, and yes actually, he has been on the ball pretty much every time mate

Agree0 Disagree4

If the short list was 1000, Davies would NOT be on it. Sorry Ed harsh but TRUE. {Ed034's Note - Everyone is entitled to there own opinion

Daily Mail saying Frank Clark asked to resign and most of the backroom staff to go too. Only one likely to remain : Marthur ! Noooooo!!!

Lincoln Rob

Believable3 Unbelievable5

It kinda makes sense from the new owners perspective but would rather Clarke be offered Director of Football role and marthur be booted. But cos he is a slimey snake marthur will still remain

Agree6 Disagree3

Been waiting for developments before I renewing my season ticket happy up to now but if arthur stays I won't
Big mick also a disaster

Agree2 Disagree6

Your a top quality loyal fan then!

Agree4 Disagree2

Judging by your comments (If Arthur stays I wont) you are a fool especially in the face of potentially the most exciting period in the clubs history for Years!
Frankly the club doesn't need fans like you at all anyway.

No No No! Taylor on twitter. He has let it out of the bag.McCarthy is heading for talks. Please God nooooooo!
We can do better than this!
IERM

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Please god not the yorkshire bog trotter!!

Agree7 Disagree4

We can do better... A lot better! Reports in Daily Mail that poor old Frank Clark was asked to resign?!? Certainly no way to treat such a legend. If he goes and MArthur stays something wrong there!

Agree4 Disagree5

It's an inteview?

Agree0 Disagree1

Tbf Tayler and the NEP get literally everything wrong.

Agree5 Disagree2

McCarthy would get us up,give our new owners a chance

Agree4 Disagree5

Would you call Martin o Neill a Bog Trotter too,

Agree3 Disagree1

McCArthy would be a disaster of epic proportions!only worse choice Megson---the ginger mourinho----Let's cut our cloth to suit ---Poyet or ferguson would do a job {Ed034's Note - I understand you don't like the guy but I'm not sure how you can make that statement. The guy is proven at taking clubs up and that is what we are trying to achieve
