had enough of takeover talk can we please talk about players?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

No. Because until the takeover is done, we will not be adding to our squad.

Agree8 Disagree0

If there's no takeover, I wouldn't expect many signings...
May be dipping into the youth academy {Ed034's Note - I would expect Gunter to be auctioned off and still a few coming in, be it free transfers or loans like last January

Agree2 Disagree0

Yep lets talk about players! We cant sighn any becouse we cant pay wages, sc dont even know his budget so even free transfers of any quality will be gone, we cant even keep players who would like to stay cus they wont wait around to see if we can offer a contract we have a very small unbalanced sqaud. There now we talking about players lol! Frusrated rant over!

Agree3 Disagree0

I think you will find at the moment they are explicably linked! One is dependent on the other.

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed - Not wanting to pi$$ you off, but your last posting, mentioned auctioning off Gunter from Forrest - Why get rid of one of your best players, if you are being bought/taken over?? {Ed034's Note - If you read the post I was replying to, the poster was saying 'if there's no takeover, I wouldn't expect many signings'. What I wrote was as reply to that post. I believe the takeover will happen, but that wold be a worst case for me. So all is not lost if it doesn't happen

Agree1 Disagree1

Anyone reckon this takeover talk is just a way of appeasing the nearly out of contract players, and trying to keep them as long as poss? just a thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

In some Scottish papers Forest are after Kilmarnock keeper Cammy Bell.

Mark Arthur says there is nothing to report on the takeover or transfer fronts.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Funny, yesterday he said he knows there is more than one party interested but does not know who. How do he know it isn`t imminent today ? He is not selling the club...

Agree6 Disagree2

I think mr pye made such a thing out of it they been told to tone it down.

As i have said before Mark Arthur is a fool and he will find a way to screw up any possible takeover bid. He is now saying it is not imminent and that Adam Pye was wrong. If i was investing into the club i would make sure that i was in the know regarding my investment so i do not believe a word of what he says.

I cannot wait until he is not at the club. {Ed034's Note - What is your timing on imminent??? Tomorrow, the next day, within a week?? He may say imminent is over the next three days and if it isn't happening until the end of the month, then he is telling the truth. Don't get me wrong I am not a fan of marthur, but I am also not a fan of just having a go for the sake of it

Believable8 Unbelievable3

22 june im still going by adam pye advised

Agree0 Disagree3

We're going down then..... a team that won the european cup,,,, we're a bargain to any buy... we got pedigree...mark arthur should get into leicester city and screw them up... {Ed034's Note - MA has got nothing to do with the takeover, so I do not understand why he is being blamed for there bing no new owners yet.

Agree1 Disagree1

MA is nothing but a parasite.

Agree4 Disagree2

Our club has a cloud over it, since we came out the prem bit by bit chuncks have been hacked away. how hard is it for the truth to know whats going on and why dont someone just see they have had to sign to keep descrete. if we not been taken over by end of june count it as we are going to be a demoted club..

Agree0 Disagree1

We had pedigree. We may be a bargain buy, but we have a mountain of debt. This may all be owed to one person but it is still debt.

This time last year on this site we were signing Prattley Whittingham Maynard and the Dutch guy.We finished up with most only Derbyshire so I don't read to much into these so called (in the know people).

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Whitts and pratley were so two years ago as for the dutch guy he was scared of the riots

Agree2 Disagree1

Get a grip as if he was worried by the riots.

I have some inside info, the new home shirt is to be released 2 weeks after the release of the away shirt.

The reason for BetVictor not being the sponsor this year is because Victor Chandler is buying Nottingham Forest, this is to be announced the same day the away shirt is being released. 21/06/2012

Watch this space {Ed001's Note - have you seen who is the Stoke's shirt sponsor? It is their owner's betting company! So why would Victor Chandler stop being shirt sponsor?}

Believable7 Unbelievable6

That may be true because they are still showing the city ground in the bet victor commercials

Agree1 Disagree3

That's not insider info about the home shirt its common knowledge and VC isn't buying Forest he wouldn't be able to pay the Doughty Estate what they are expecting, I was under the impression that the club owed ND around 65/70million maybe more, obviously the club won't sell for that but I'm sure the DE will be hoping to recoup some of that and possibly getting promotion clause?

Agree2 Disagree1

That may be true because they are still showing the city ground in the bet victor commercials

Agree0 Disagree3

He won't buy them but it would be common business practice to get a sponsor for the shirt of he did, this would generate funds which would not affect his pocket

Agree1 Disagree1

Dear oh dear. . . one of the main benefits of buying a football team is its advertising potential, hence why stadium names change etc. To buy a club yet allow another commercial organisation to clad it with their communications would be ludicrous. Remember Forest, in fact the majority of Champ teams, do not turn a profit.

Agree1 Disagree1

They don't show much of the city ground come of been any ground

i know it is the CG just saying

Agree1 Disagree1

I heard that Victor Chandler and a Consortium were buying the club.

make of it what you will but Mark Arthur was in the boots site in beeston today nice white jag, reason i no cause i work there, more sponsors or new owners??

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Thats funny cos a pic has just had him in london

Agree1 Disagree0

There is no way on this earth that Boots would buy Forest. More likely a case of mistaken identity.

Agree4 Disagree0

Perhaps he's going for a job...or has a headache. anwya, I thought he was undertaking a three day charity cycle ride.

Agree2 Disagree0

MA is doing what we have advised for years now.He has got on his bike & is on a sponsored bike ride to Paris.Must have been his twin in Beeston.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was Marther not in london today doing the arc to arc charity bike ride

Agree0 Disagree0

If you look at the OS you will see that he is currently on a bike somewhere between London and Paris.

aston villa rumoured to offer 2.5 mill for gunts

source daily star - definitely no truth in it then

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Hold out for more than 3.5 m from the rich villians make them pay top dollar for best right back in championship - ok make it 4m

Agree3 Disagree0

Why would you sign chesterfield keeper if you've got camp!!!??

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jun 2012 10:30:03
Forest will be signing chesterfield keeper once the new owners are confirmed.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Looks like we will be scouring lower league talent as I understand from a very reliable source we have offered a contract to Sergio Torres from Crawley

Agree2 Disagree2

Hope not, his name suggests he should be good, but he isn't.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope not, his name suggests he should be good, but he isn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't be signing anyone until the clubs
Ownership has been sorted. Or if no new owners materialise until we off load, sell some players. Seriously why would we b looking at a squad full of cheaper lower league potential if we get a new billionaire owner? Surely they would want biggger names and try for instant promotion?
I like sc and I think he did a good job keeping us up last year but I'd settle for new rich owners and sir Harry of Redknapp!

It is a local consortium, John Pye will not only be the sponsors but part owners, along with Browne Jacobson and Geldards, all local firms

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Really? 2 law firms with a few offices dotted around the country? Doesn't sound too good to me. Certainly doesn't sound like a big money spinner for the transfer market and infrastructure of the club!

Agree2 Disagree2

Do you take the Minutes of the meeting when all the interested parties meet or a member of the Doughty/Seymour Pierce family?

Agree2 Disagree2

The easiest thing for the Forest Board to have done when they refused to comment on the rumours (which obviously inflamed the rumour further), was to simply state: "There is no truth in these rumours and we are continuing to seek a buyer for Nottingham Forest FC" - or words to that effect - the media/fans etc. would have stopped pestering and believed there was nothing in the offing - The actual statement just put fuel on the fire - for what purpose? Could it have been that when the takeover is announced, if it is Fawaz Al Hasari, they would come in for alot of stick had they straightforwardly denied the rumour, knowing it to be true. Forest have not chosen to put out a statement on all these other rumours of different consortiums taking over - just that one. {Ed034's Note -

Agree2 Disagree0

I very much doubt this is true. Browne Jacobson for one are in the process of moving offices which has cost a small fortune, so I doubt they are in a position to invest in a football club and I can't imagine that these people have anywhere near the sort of money needed to buy and run a club like Forest.

Agree4 Disagree1

No bloody mega funds then :(

Agree1 Disagree1

A colleague of mine's wife works for a Nottingham based solicitors (not sure of the name) she works in admin there and has seen documents about the take over, my colleague said she cant say what's happening and hasnt even told her husband all she told him was foreigners are involved.

Agree1 Disagree3

Stop just pulling local names out of the yellow pages. It is not going to be anyone local so forget trying to tell us so.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd be very surprised if an auctioneers and two law firms were buying a football club.
Browne Jacobson are a limited liability partnership (LLP) law firm. I'm struggling to see how this would work as a consortium, part owner of a football club. Geldards are also a law firm, if they came up against each other in the courts it would be interesting and a definite conflict of interests. Why would they be willing to put themselves in that situation?
I'm not struggling to see how you've looked at Google Maps and picked a couple of names from the aerial view of Nottm City centre.
Khakipillowslip

Agree3 Disagree1

Do you work for Seymour Pierce ?

Agree1 Disagree0

I think there is something in this, an ex player who I won't name has said that a number of them have been contacted to help support a local consortium.

Agree2 Disagree1

I wish certain people on here would stick to fabricating transfer gossip as oppose to attempting to conjure up buy-out tales. Some of the posts alleging from people in the know are simply child-like and completely lack credibility - they sound like the ramblings of a compulsive lier!

The Ellington post below is a proper rumour; it may be true, it may not. In this post we have anything ranging from a local consortium of random companies to a colleagues wife's talk of 'foreigners'!

Agree0 Disagree1

The Forest Board cannot say anything about the sale as it is NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. Why do posters keep moaning about no info from the Board on the sale?

Agree2 Disagree0

Ten bob each then? Which team in the Championship do you think the Kuwaiti is buying? I don't think Mr Hasari would have decided to put it out that he was buying a Championship club for a joke - why would he bother? - would make him look pretty foolish if it turned out not to be the case - so again, if it's not Nottingham Forest, who do you think it will be? Any suggestions? Or has the whole thing been an elaborate scam (can't think what he would gain). Even the Board were moved to make a statement, albeit a 'no comment'. If several bodies are vying to buy the club, I cannot imagine the Doughty family would decide to take offers from some local bods clubbing together against more serious money - the next rumour will be that the fans are to be asked to raid their piggy banks and pledge ten bob (fifty pence) each!

Nathan Ellington set to sign for forest after a disappointing season for Ipswich with no goals in 15 appearances. You heard it here first.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Yay more derby rejects :)

Agree3 Disagree1

Finally, a rumour thats not a takeover rumour. Good player, ex Derby doesnt bother me too much (Earnshaw, Tudgay, Camp) They've all made bigger impacts for Forest than Judas and Tyson made for Derby

Agree2 Disagree2

More players who cant score!

Army

Agree2 Disagree0

Nobody will sign before the takeover is concluded..Get a grip

Agree3 Disagree1

Sure, and I'll expect we'll also resign Andy Silenzi and Robert Rosario.

Agree3 Disagree1

Chris gunter going to villa, they have offered 2.5million at moment but will go in higher at 2.8million then offer will be accepted.

Agree2 Disagree3

Hold out for 3.5m from the villians

Forest signing strikers who can't score goals?

finally life appears to be returning to normal
