Steve McClaren went to The Hague tonight to watch Wesley Verhoek in action in the Europa League qualifiers. Forest previously had a bid rejected according to their coach, but with McClaren watching an improved bid must be in the offing.

Verhoek was asked about Forest after the game and seemed open to the potential move.

Believable19 Unbelievable4

Do you have a quote from the lad?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have a link?

Agree0 Disagree0

'McClaren is fantastic coach and for someone of that pedigree and from such a big club to be interested in me shows I'm on the right track in my career'

Agree0 Disagree0

From a Dutch newspaper tweet, it seems that Steve was not alone, other NFFC representatives sat with him on the front row

Agree0 Disagree0

Bull...

Agree0 Disagree0

Verhoek is going to Glasgow Rangers. Deal almost done.

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it bull? This is common knowledge, stop acting the person all the time Derby fan and go on your own forum

Any truth in the Franck Queudrue rumour?

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Doubtful

Agree0 Disagree0

No. He's crap

21 Jul 2011 23:02:00
from what I've heard over in Holland Wesley Verhoek is very much interested in a move away, as is his club. forest came in with a bid and it was rejected the fee was believed to be around 1.5 million euro's however den Haag value him at 2 million euro's. Forest have not come back in with a bid as of yet but they are considering their options.

Please forest match their valuation of the player and bring him in

New left back rumour just heard from local guy, Liverpool youngster Jack Robinson is set to join Forest on a season long loan.

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Ive heard this rumour as well but mcclaren would rather have a more experienced one if possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see the point in signing a young Liverpool leftback, when we've got young Freeman... Surely deserves a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

In the forest tradition, freeman is a right back who has been used out of position. jack robinson was integrated into the liverpool first team last season and was a lot better than konchesky. can't see them letting him leave to be honest

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like from last season that dalglish is looking to blood one or two of their young defenders, so this seems very unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed - very unlikely as Liverpool have issues at left-back and may want to blood youngsters while Forest want experience in the back line.

ok heres the info i ave received nottingham forest will not make any big signings due to lack of funds that is why we are going for free signings except greening 600k steve mc was told this before he became manager and would ave to sell to generate funds 3players will leave to make funds avalible camp region of 3.5mil / anderson1.5mil/and mcleary 750k no big deals till they ave been sold very good source and not what i wanted to hear from him but things behind the scenes are not as gud as we think........

Believable6 Unbelievable21

Won't sell camp no point in weakening to strengthen fool. You get back to your sheep

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh give over pal. What is the point in posting this? Forest will not sell their players- funds ARE available for transfers, the stumbling blocks are the agents and wage demands.

Agree0 Disagree0

B*LLOCKS

Agree0 Disagree0

Derby... go on your own site mate

Agree0 Disagree0

How did we bid 3-4m for Maynard if there are no funds?

Agree0 Disagree0

Total rubbish posted by a sheep no doubt?

Agree0 Disagree0

HAHA 1.5 million for anderson and 750k for mccleary, half thier values and you have a more realistic figure for a quick sell.

Mcclaren is actually saving his budget, as everyone who's in the know know's that every forest manager has a budget over the length of thier contract.

in other words billy davies spent his whole budget in his first season, while earning add ons and extra's on forest's position at the end of the year.

Mcclaren is spending his bugdet wisely which is a breath of fresh air in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Forest can get 750k for Mcleary we will get done by trading standards. Jesus wept, if anybody actually wanted to pay any money at all for him it would be a miracle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah so skint we had a 1.8 million bid for Routledge accepted yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's bin all over the news about our bids for Maynard and more recently Routledge, how can we be skint? Or did we offer monopoly money?

RED cW

Agree0 Disagree0

For starters all though values are half what we would accept and mcclaren already said no more r leaving

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's 21mins past your bedtime little boy.... GO TO BED

Agree0 Disagree0

We sell 3 players and there'll be nobody left , so this will never happen

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll see how many players come to forest over a million and under 30yrs , nd been creaming the club for years n don't say he's the savour he's made loads out of forest ... Billy was right tight n no ambition .. I'm a red

Agree0 Disagree0

If you think doughty is making any money out of forest, you must be on another planet.

Has anyone got an idea what's happening with Siphiwe Tshabalala ?

Believable4 Unbelievable8

He has been playing for his club

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he ain't coming was man of match against spurs last week premier team will pick him up

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubtful, i will ask some people but i think doubtful

Agree0 Disagree0

Tshabalala didnt play against spurs did he? didnt even think he was on trial with squad again...

Agree0 Disagree0

HE DID PLAY AS GARY MABBUTT WAS IMPRESSED ON THEIR SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR........

Agree0 Disagree0

He played against Tottenham for his club in South Africa.

Can anyone tell what happening with signing boateng, I thought he was signing today?

Believable10 Unbelievable4

He is a forest as he confirmed it on his twitter. Maybe forest wanna announce it alongside another signing tomorrow??

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a summary of sources:

He announced on twitter (assuming it is an official account) yesterday that he would be playing for Nottingham Forest next season, indicating that a 1 year deal had been agreed.

presumably used this as their source to announce it as an "official" signing.

Someone took the Sky News article as fact and posted something on the Nottingham Evening Post website. The person who posted it is a fan, not a journalist but people mistook the fan post for an official story. He has since explained that it is not official news yet.

Finally, BBC Website has an article about Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink being appointed first team coach and also talks about wrapping up the signing of Boateng. In his interview with BBC East Midlands which is quoted on the website, Steve McClaren says "We need experience and we need more men in the team. We now have Jonathan Greening, Boateng and Guy Moussi. Hopefully that's the start of it [signings]."

I also read somewhere that all was done except for a medical, but I can't remember if that was an official source. I would hazard a guess that, assuming all goes well with the medical, he will be announced as a signing tomorrow. Hope that helps

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks lads.... Just that I saw an interview with on SSN last night & he said it would all be sorted today (thurs).. I personally think it's a good signing, to let him sit in front of the back four

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Forest are so cross he outed the deal on twitter they've ditched it as their announcement about unofficial announcements was very cross...

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't have thought they'd ditch the deal alltogether because of him announcing it on Twitter. However, he might have got in trouble with his new employers for doing so

Agree0 Disagree0

He failed his medical today, apparently discussions are taking place to see if he can still sign as the reason he failed wasn't particularly serious.

My mates just gone to collect his season ticket at the City ground.....when he starts screaming down the phone He has just said that a vehicle has pulled up in the players car park....he believes its Ryan Bertrand or Wayne Routledge and that Steve McClaren came out to greet whichever it was.

Believable12 Unbelievable13

Bertrand is playing for chelsea according to

Agree0 Disagree0

If he didn't know if it was bertrand or routledge how does he know it was not boateng or moussi??

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha considering there both away with their clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

Well it's not routledge cuz he's in croyden proberbly trying toget a move to qpr I gather.and i carnt see us gettin Bertrand

Agree0 Disagree0

Bertrand played in Malaysia for chelsea today and routledge is in Holland with Newcastle reserves, routledge has only been tweeting mates photos of croydon

Agree0 Disagree0

Screaming down phone? girl

Agree0 Disagree0

Routledge abroad playing

Agree0 Disagree0

Routledge? Really? Amazing must be his twin brother playing in Holland then....

Agree0 Disagree0

Total idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

Just saying no offence to anyone but its hard to mistake bertrand for routledge ?

Nottingham forest are setting the eyes on Derby County defender Dean Leacock, championship rivals Portsmouth are also chasing the defender's signature who is out of favour with derby manager Nigel Clough.

Source- news.

Red-Till-Dead.

Believable5 Unbelievable15

21 Jul 2011 16:02:22
Erm something laughable..... have said that us and Portsmouth want a certain defender - goes by the name of Dean Leacock. The last 4 letters of his name would be more appropriate to sum him up. Even as back up, really hope this isn't true.

Nottingham Forest and Portsmouth are chasing wantaway Derby defender Dean Leacock.

I hope not

Believable6 Unbelievable17

He's crap

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do leicester have to keep hijacking other teams targets?it's as if they lie in wait until a top championship side targets someone then jump in at the last minute and offer them more money.i think it's very underhand, saying that, that's how foreign buisnessmen work isn't it?

Agree0 Disagree0

If he cannot get into Derby's Defence then he will not get in our's?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want a player from the sheep that is no better than what we have ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I suppose as we're really looking for stellar signings (few around, very costly) or reserves (like Leacock) then I wouldn't say no. Just don't expect him to get a game but be there in case we have loads of injuries. Dunno if there's any truth in it though.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2011 15:24:43
wayne routledge signed for leicester on a 3 year deal. We've got enough strength in midfield just need a left back and a 20 goal a season man. You reds

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Soloman Kalou from Chelsea is a target for Forest according to the Evening Post
Season Long Loan
Watch out for developments soon

Believable2 Unbelievable25

Yes the evening post website which has been taken over by amateur bloggers with no imagination.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a hoax. Someone has hacked the website and is posting loads of spurious buts of info

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the evening post has become a rumour site like this you got ur head in the clouds

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, its fake

Agree0 Disagree0

The post is being hacked mate

Agree0 Disagree0

The nep website has been hacked

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear.... One needs a sence of humour mate

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a hoax but it isnt a hacking

the new NEP website allows ANYONE to post a news story on there now, which doesnt really make much sense to me.

Boetang, Greening and Moussi all signed as I told you last week. Just an update from my pal at Nottingham Evening Post - Rouledge deal very much in the balance He does want to come to use but Fester are offering more money - a real 50-50 Forest are after Murphy and Billy Sharp - Sharp could sign by the weekend. Maynard not longer on radar as he is too expensive In terms of left back there are three potentials including Lee Wallace who Rangers have just agreed a fee with Likely player in is Matiz though and according to my source is due at the City GRound either today or tomorrow. Expect three more siginings then loans. Will keep you all posted - Mansfield Red

Believable19 Unbelievable9

Can your source spell cos if he can let him post your junk for you.

report that Rotherham have turned down a bid from an un-named club for Adam Le Fondre.24 yrs of age and only 1 year left on his contract.I am not trying to suggest it was Forest that made a bid but now someone is showing interest we should get in there. Will score goals in the Championship no doubt.and the right age.I would rather take a punt on him than others mentioned from Dutch Leagues we know nothing about apart from a you tube clip.

Nottingham forest have been locked in negotiations with Huddersfield town over the transfer of Jordan Rhodes and now it seems Huddersfield have agreed on a fee and forest will now discuss personnel terms with the striker.

Believable12 Unbelievable8

Jordan rhodes agent is the same as robbie earnshaws and robbie said last week is agent was tying this switch up and robbie wished jordan well wishes as the set up at forest is great

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddersfield wont be interested in selling rhodes as they have already rejected a 2mil bid...we would have to do something big to get him

Lee clark said that rhodes is the only player that he is noy willing to sell

Hello, Keith "THe Daddy" red dog here. Just contacted my mate who is at this moment camped out in the CG car park waiting for some new faces (not camped out with a tent if you know what I mean) Just spoke to Deano and he says Boateng has just arrived and is huge Also Tim Matavz is down there and the rumour is he will be signing a 4 year deal. Deano reckons Boateng is only on 6k PW. Not a bad deal for someone with such experience. Hes making is way down to the training ground in half hour. He will post laterz

Believable13 Unbelievable9

Rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Whos tim matavz

Agree0 Disagree0

Boateng got a sign on his back telling everyone what he is earning then?I would say 6k a week is an awful lot for a guy whose career is basically over. How many people would know Matavz if he ran up to you and gave you a slap?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell your mate to get a job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Daddy's telling fibs, bad Daddy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who's Deano?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbh I went to like 35+ games last season and have no idea who "deano" or "the daddy" or "reddog" are...

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello Keith. I have just seen Deano being asked to leave the car park as security were locking the gates. He did manage to get the autographs of Boateng, Tevez and Baggio before getting ejected. See you tomorrow Deano (you stalker)

transfers update

will sign before august 6th -

routledge 1.8 mill
bertrand on loan
sharp 2.8 mill
jay emannuel thomas 1mill
boateng free
kiko macheda on loan

the robbie keane thing i think was a little farfetched and bertrand deal could definitly happen as van arnholt has been told he is number 2 lb for season

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Why post such dross? That is nothing more than your own dream sheet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty certain none of these (boeteng aside) will be playing for forest next season

Forest are closing in on two singing's, first of all is George Boetang who is curently a free agent. The second looks to be a 20 goal man in the shape of Billy sharpe, repotrs sugest that we are closing on a deal with mark aurther spotted at the Keep Moat Stadium yesturday.

Red-till-dead.

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Keep moat why?

Agree0 Disagree0

Who spotted him?Nobody saw him at all and as much as I like Sharpe are we really likely to spend 3million on him?

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to sell Jay Emmanuel-Thomas - but he wants £1million for the forward.

LETS HAVE HIM

Believable14 Unbelievable16

Id have him

Agree0 Disagree0

What for?He didn't do anything at Cardiff last season. If you want that type of player then Ishmael Miller at West Brom is a better player for not much more.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's selling him because he isnt good enough. Let's not buy anyone who becomes available.

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks the bloke is useless.

Agree0 Disagree0

POOR PLAYER LEAGUE 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not buy anyone who becomes available? Are you sure youre not mark arthur. Why is our logic that if hes not good enough for ARSENAL then hes not good enough for us?

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks. Lazy, fat and arrogant. Looked poor on loan at cardiff last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fat? Hardly, has the capability to play pretty much everywhere across the park, with the right coaching he could become a very good squad player with his versatility... Would be a better signing then Boateng anyway :/

Dexter blackstock --> Wayne routledge on twitter @7:00am

"are you sure you can handle the no.10 shirt at forest? Alot of big players have worn it"...

Is he signing?

RED cW

Believable18 Unbelievable11

Looks like a bit of banter but looks a little hopeful if blackstocks put a pod word in

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting

Agree0 Disagree0

Does actually say that but not sure of the context of the comment

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so??

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt mean he is signing since routledge was removed as number 10 from newcastle as hatem ben arfa took it and was changed to number 53 so its just banter

Agree0 Disagree0

Well at leat he is still earning his wages trying to lure players to forest (doing a better job than marthur)

Agree0 Disagree0

They are supposedly best mates so in our favour.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Routledge will choose Forest, its not far from his family in London, He knows Blacktock very well and I've heard he also knows McGugan and He'll be in a team pushing for promotion getting a game every week

Agree0 Disagree0

Hell be on his way to forest , looks like hes trying to lure thieery henry to the CG aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

Get dexter on the panell

Could afford henry transfer but not his wages
