Also, some scottish press have claimed that we had a 300k bid rejected for kyle lafferty.

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Can u tell us wat press so we can take a look thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Is kyle not out {Ed001's Note - yes he has an injury.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lafferty is a donkey

I would say that bid was around 295K to high

pasal chimbonda is a free agent, worth a go

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Wage's buddy...

that guy will want 30/35k a week.

The bridge between the championship and the premier league wages is for too big

Agree0 Disagree0

Top comment I couldn't agree more

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand that but it was tweeted by a journo that he expected him to drop a division

Obviously we have missed out on the signing of Wayne Routledge as he has agreed to join Swansea. However Nigel Doughty mentioned in the NEP that we were still in the market for two players.
I believe from sources we have not given up on Wesley Verhoek or Tim Matavz and they are 'Two' of four players we are still looking at.
These would be too high quality additions.

Believable17 Unbelievable10

Who are the other 2?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim will not come, and wesley is all about the cash, to play in scotland for more money or play in gods country of nottingham?

Agree0 Disagree0

Anthony Gardner who is on trial.....it is likely we will offer him a contract, as backup to Wes Morgan and Luke Chambers. The fourth and final player on the shopping list is a young LB from Spain however i cannot remember his name will have a cheeky ask tommorow.

Agree0 Disagree0

Matavz? You play FM too much. PSV had a 10m bid turned down for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

We wont sighn any1 unless there free

Agree0 Disagree0

What are people clicking believable for you real or what

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 14 numpties that ticked believe, you clowns

We will not see anyone that involves a signing fee never going to happen

Things starting to happen at city ground two loan players to be confrmed by 2moro lunch rumour is that it's Ryan berntrand from Chelsea and Helgerson from qpr

Believable8 Unbelievable24

And you know this HOW

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you heard this? dont tell me Helgerson is the 20 goal a season player we are after?

Agree0 Disagree0

Helgerson? we are turning into Dads army

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve mclarens dog told my dog

Agree0 Disagree0

Be quite happy if it was true

Agree0 Disagree0

Helgerson's pretty average but give him good service and he'll score (well if you have taarabt in the team) but then again i think even McGoaldrought could have got 20 goals with QPR's midfield last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's just signed a deal with chelsea

I have been listening to the transfer tavern show on Talk sport their Dutch correspondent has just been on to talk about players in Holland who are on the move his word were-" one of the most exciting players at the moment is Wesley Verhoek there are two clubs in for him Rangers and Nottingham Forest. SM has been to see him in Holland twice and they have offered more money than Rangers. It is now up to Wesley to choose between life in Scotland or life in the East Midlands in my opinion (correspondent) Nottingham Forest will be getting a great player" then asked by the presenter "does that mean Forest are in the driving seat" and he said "YES he is looking forward to life under SM"

Believable22 Unbelievable11

No chance, someone else will come in and beat us to another signing, uncle fester more than likely

Agree0 Disagree0

Same old story rumoured to get someone so strongly then another team just seems to beat us every time we have to show more ambition

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know, whenever we sign anyone it seems to be because of the interest we show and how much we want them. Something that megson and calderwood were good at (even if they were bad managers, megson signed a lot of players). Also, it worked with moussi. SM flew to france and small things like that really make the difference. If i was Verhoek, knowing SM had been to holland to see me twice and knowing we've bid more just shows how much more we want him (and who would want to live and play in scotland)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully we can win this race.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the t**t who says who would want to live and play in scotland. im a rangers fan who has followed nottingham forest for years and watching rangers play to 50000 fans most weeks and every season being involved in europe is more appealing than the championship im afraid. your comments were not very wise and its comments like that which make some SCOTTISH people dislike some english

Agree0 Disagree0

Dream on. We just don't pay the going rate for the wages, that's why we appear to miss out on all our decent targets.
It's about time somebody told Marther that when you're only willing to pay peanuts you get monkeys

Agree0 Disagree0

Rather live in the mighty east midlands than in dirty scotland

red-till-dead

Agree0 Disagree0

Playing in Europe may be more appealing, but the Championship is ciertainly a more appealing domestic league than the low quality and inherantly boring and predictable Scottish 'premier league'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate am a rangers fan tae why are yous arguing cmon to man right the people who are slagging off the spl is qwite annoying becuse look at the money yous get for getting relagated its like 30 million what do wee get for winning the league 3 million and his comments was bang out of order for saying know wonder wee dont like the english well mate aff got family that live in england so just relax cam down and stop arguing yous are like kids arguing in a playground

Agree0 Disagree0

I can even that crazy Scottish gibberish

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that anyone Scottish would hate "the English" over them commenting on the clearly shambolic state of the SPL and it's massive inferiority to the Championship is ludicruos. Its not an indightment of your country, it's an absolute fact based on the quality of the football.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the C**K from Scotland- I stated what was said on Talk Sport as I sat listening to it at no point did I say I heard this or I think Scotland is loer then England. it was said direct from the Dutchman on the Radio so it must be what he thinks. so take the chip off your shoulder and your the reason why us english hate Scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Like a said a like the English you might not like us but a i actually don't have a problem with yous its people like him that is bang out of order but he retaliated its like if somebody came and said look at the state of your league whitch nobody can becuse its one of the best but if thay did you would get all up tight about it all the guy was saying is he was sticking up for his countrys football but he shouldnt be nasty about yous all am saying is af no problems with yous cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

At what point did he say he was having a go at Scotland? your right there might chip on his shoulder

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the c**k from scotland replying like i said i follow forest, have since the brian clough days but dont slag sum1s country off then cant take it back on the chin my dad is from nottingham and im proud that he is english which clearly makes me half english. unless you have been to an old firm game( which in my eyes is best derby in world ) then you cant really comment on the state of scottish fitba every1 is entitled to there say i also think the championship is a cracking league

Agree0 Disagree0

Read the quote from the dutch person on Talk Sport where did it say that a Forest fan was having a go at Scotland? it said that the Dutch person felt he would be going to East Midlands knowone has said anything bad about the scottish prem, get a grip and learn to read cus you cant write

here in Girona (spain) there is talks over alvaro of espanyol joining forest, that was in local paper

Believable9 Unbelievable15

Lvaro V zquez? What's he like?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you got any links too thier website ?

thanks :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lvaro V zquez Garc a (born 27 April 1991) is a Spanish footballer who plays for RCD Espanyol as a striker {Ed007's Note - Alvaro Vazquez Garcia, if you cut and paste a name the accentuated letters do not come through the filters.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love there to be some truth in this, seems made up tho. On wikipidia (which I know is a vastly reliable source of information) but anyway he's got the squad number 8 and appears to be their 3rd striker and playing at a high level in la liga so no doubt he's gonna be good but if there was any truth to this... really? with our board?

forest to sign wesly verhoek , tim matvz and wayne routledge

my source : a person fromm ssn but im not aloud to say

Believable8 Unbelievable28

Hope so so much

Agree0 Disagree0

This isn't FM. Matavz is not signing for anyone who's not in the champions league.

Agree0 Disagree0

How are we gonna sign wayne when he's already signed for swansea?

Agree0 Disagree0

Routledge is going to SwanseaSee Sky sports news web site...

Agree0 Disagree0

He may of heard it from rob kelly's gardners daughter who he is dating? haha as matavz would never come forest

Agree0 Disagree0

You have not seen ssn?routledege has gone to swansea.is this person at ssn billy liar?

Agree0 Disagree0

It says on ssn that routledge is having a medical at swansea tomorrow

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he isnt a very good mate or he is a nobody at SSN because none of them are true-so name him

Agree0 Disagree0

Your mate is having you on WR gone to swansea

Gardener will most likely sign. Glad to see the board be responsible with finances. Not like festa who will go boom or bust

Believable9 Unbelievable8

The owners of fester have billions with what they have spent unlightly to go bust

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 16:10:00
For the people who called me an 'idiot' & 'fool' for my previous post regarding the reason why forest arent spending due to the financial fair play rule that is to come in to play soon. Please go on doughty's twitter (nffc37 I think it is), he says finances are scarce due to this rule. Your apologies will b accepted. MJ

Believable12 Unbelievable11

Doesn't seem to have prevented the fox's from splashing the cash. The restrictions come into play next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right, the restrictions come in to play next season. However, forest are looking to get their house in order now, rather then last minute whole sales to come in line with the rules. Doughty actual said 'seems like everyone got the memo apart from Leicester'. They obvious think there's a way round it. Is it a coincidence that both man city & Leicester have recently got new sponsor's for their stadium? Maybe that has something to do with getting round the rules?? Who knows - MJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont tell me you believe doughtys twitter i wouldnt believe him if he told me today was sunday

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct me if I'm wrong but the new rule is you can't spend more than your clubs annual turnover. Last season Forests annual turnover was in the region of 14 million ( please correct me if I'm wrong ) .
Your right we are putting our house in order but if Forest planned to spend nothing why not come out and say they are going to try and get up on the cheap. I'm sure Doughty and Arthur when interviewing McClaren didnt say " oh by the way you only have 2million to re built a squad that has depleted by 9 players over the summer"

Agree0 Disagree0

His twitter is the only way he communicates with the supporters. Apart from the annual interview that will be in tomorrows evening post, that I'm sure will shed more light on why we aren't signing the amount of players we thought we'd see - MJ

Agree0 Disagree0

You say doughtys twitter is the only way he communicates with the supporters that because he is afraid to face them

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find that the club and sports chippers confirmed that this account is a fake

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree. If doughty just came out with it from the start that the money isn't there due to restrictions or whatever, then I think the fans would appreciate his honesty & we would all know where the club stands. McClaren clearly didn't get told the full story (probably in case he would turn the job down). He wanted 8 signings, the board feel we only need 1 or 2 further signings. Mark Arther said a left back was priority, but Doughty feels Cohen can do the job there. Which I feel will cost us - MJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Forest and the club have not said the account is fake. In fact chippers has said it IS nigel

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope they haven't conspired to pull the wool over SM's eyes. I fear he could walk if thats the case.

Agree0 Disagree0

These rules come into force next season which is why Man City, United Chelsea and Liverpool etc are spending big now end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is doughty's twitter account It's not fake. The rules apply to wages & turnover, so having a high wage bill now will cause a huge problem in the future.. End of

Agree0 Disagree0

I had a tweet from Sportchippers and he confirmed to me it is Doughty

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true how comes every other team in the championship are spending money except for forest??

Agree0 Disagree0

What was leicesters turn over?? f*** all spending more then that

Agree0 Disagree0

Leicesters owners have sponsored the stadium so bought more money into the club which is a joke of the rules which will be underway next season

{Ed022's Note - See Man City for further details... Kit sponsorship, stadium sponsorship, big rich owner funding everything... Fair? Hmmm, thats under debate...}

Agree0 Disagree0

It certainly won't be fair if teams try to get their house in order to fall in line with the new regulations, while teams like Leicester continue to buy & are allowed to get round the rules by pumping the money in to the club through sponsors. Maybe forest should get sponsored by one of doughty's company's & use that as a way to plough money in to the club?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 16:05:36
Why do we take it personally, or blame the board, when a player on our short-list decides to go to a different club then ours? The agents are out to get the BEST deal possible for the player and if the club don't feel the player is worth X amount, we shouldn't pay it.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

With the money forest are prepared to pay we always end up with NO SIGNING

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 16:01:35
To be honest I really can't see us spending any big money at all, just look at the players we've got in so far.. the only one we've payed for was Greening for 600K and now we're gonna sign Anthony Gardner for nothing. We really don't know if we ever did actually put in a bid for Routledge.. it's all just hear-say and a smoke screen to make it look like we're trying to spend big money on players. Verhoek won't happen.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

600k not bad for 3 good signings for this league better paying out millions on average players freebies are good deals if we get another 2-3 like what we just got

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not complaining about the players we've got in cause they're all v. good inmo, it just seems that we're going out of our way to get freebies and us spending 2 mill + on Verhoek seems unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 15:54:34
Wes Verhoek and Tim Matav will sign for us so chill out and enjoy the sun kids

Steve McClaren is a shrewd fella and has played several clubs.

We are going up

Believable16 Unbelievable6

I really cannot see this happening, it's always the same from the NFFC board, promise this, that and the other and none of it materialises.

Blackburn Rovers are holding talks with David Goodwillie after agreeing a fee for the Dundee United striker. - Source: SSN

Another one bites the dust

Believable15 Unbelievable3

Another what? The club have said they were never interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

There was never any interest from Forest just, as this site is intended for, rumour spread by supporters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another rumour bites the dust... sorry I forgot to put 'rumour'

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 14:34:24
Forest offered 2 million and swansea offered 1.5 million....

We were never gonna get him in other words...

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Weve offfered more ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea offered 2 million PLUS

Agree0 Disagree0

Money is not the key to this transfer like most in similar circumstances, its the prestige of that possibility of playing at
Old Trafford, White Hart Lane, Anfield .....etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 14:17:20
we have to do everything in our power to sign verhoek now that routledge is going swansea otherwise im afraid we will be lacking abit of magic we need to get up

Believable14 Unbelievable3

My opinion is that we wont sign anyone else there is no way we will get Verhoek, so forget about him

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh but i would at least like an attempt to sign him

Agree0 Disagree0

Well unless you're Nigel Doughty and know something as fact, it's a good job your opinion doesn't actually matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll b right, just wait and see

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 14:15:31
No wonder billy Davies had enough , another quality player not signing in routledge. Does the board really have any idea when it comes to signing players? All we seem to do is scout for sven at the moment

Believable6 Unbelievable3

We've offered the club more money than swansea and we've offered the player more money than swansea. What else can the board do?

BTW The fat lady hasn't sung yet...

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont talk wet its not the boards fault if he wants to play in the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you have a better idea than offering the most money...

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need him anyway we need a striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Put yourself in his boots play in the championship, or in the Premiership.
Money is not the key to this logical decision, its the prestige of having them
golden oportunities.....Old Trafford, Anfield , Stamford Bridge etc etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 14:15:13
commence the battle forest take it to em boys who needs all them signings anyway our squad is still strong to challenge

Believable6 Unbelievable10

You are totally correct We beat lincoln 1-0. That's a sure fire example of the quality that we have. We might need one strong signing to catch us when we fall at the end of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im pretty sure last season we lost most of out pre season games to poor opposition and then went on to makethe play offs, so i'd say our pre season has gone quite well mate

Agree0 Disagree0

No we wont challenge with a squad smaller than one of the smallest squads in the league last season .. us

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 13:46:10
Forest will now go all out to get vorhoek after missing out on routledge

Believable3 Unbelievable14

And how the hell do you know this? The Routledge thing was only announced uncouple of hours ago He has said he prefers Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think my definition of 'going all out' differs greatly from doughty and arthurs.

we will be offering a two grand, an expired 50 PC world voucher, and pannini mexico '86 swaps of peter beardsley, careca and zbigniew boniek

Agree0 Disagree0

Forest offered more money for and to wr but he wanted to play in the prem and not once has he said he wants to play for rangers over forest he said rangers are a big club he also said forest were intrested and that he would be interested if the clubs could agree a fee

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 13:10:51
Routledge has gone to Swansea because we're not in the Prem, it's as simple as that.... They could offer him that, it's got nothing to do with what we offered him, get over it

Believable11 Unbelievable4

I'm told we actually offered him more wages than swansea, but he preferred prem football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea are a very well run club, they wouldn't offer him 15k a week because he isn't worth it.

i'm relieved he won't be coming. it's been clear we'd have been his absolute last resort for some time and we'd never have seen the best of him imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank god for that Totally p.ssed off with hearing about it

at least we can stop reading about him on here from now on

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Never again will i believe any thing that comes out of doughtys mouth he is the master of deception please put the club up for sale

Agree0 Disagree0

Doughty move on you have no ambition i am so deppressed about this you wind me up i say fans get together now and get him out totally pissed off was looking forward to this season but not now im staying away

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol chillax, you couldn't run a club

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 12:40:22
Anthony Gardner to be given a deal Monday brilliant back up for chambers and Wes. Routledge deal getting closer, still looking for a target man and have been told we will not compete to get David goodwillie now prem teams are interested. Camp, mcgugan and chambers will not be sold for any amount of money. After the first game expect 2 quality loan additions.

Believable8 Unbelievable14

That's right - the Routledge deal getting closer (for Swansea).

forest have decided against signing Anthony Gardner and will stick with what they have at the back. Forest are working on bringing in 2 more players but have back up ideas if they don't get these targets.
expect 2 more players in at forest by the time the transfer window closes

Believable3 Unbelievable17

Need them by end of week to be fair Taking long enough

Agree0 Disagree0

2 more players coming in WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course we will sign Gardner - he is available on a free and no other clubs are interested which is the way the AP like it.
