Heard tudgay to milwall mcgoldrick on loan to Southendvas part of the hall deal and we will get Maynard Ayala and Hutton in {Ed034's Note - Cant see mcg going to Southend

Believable13 Unbelievable19

No chance mcgoldrick will drop down in my opinion. If we do need to get rid of strikers who would u keep as the back up out of mcgoldrick, Findlay, tudgay or Derbyshire?

Agree2 Disagree0

Mcgoldrick looked realy good when he came on against villa so did tudgay

Agree1 Disagree0

In the last two seasons we have had to rely on the likes of McGugan and then last season McCleary to score goals. Maynard would at least be a genuine goalscorer to complement Blackstock or Miller upfront. Tudgay and McGoldrick arent good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be very happy with all of that!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's just wishful thinking... It all sounds to perfect so it's not...

Agree0 Disagree1

Wouldnt want to lose tudgay atm!

Agree0 Disagree0

Tudgay ain't going anywhere!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgoldrick, Findlay, tudgay and Derbyshire - none of them good enough, not even for back up! Get rid and buy 2 new strikers!

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally think findley could be a star, sod should use his pace on the right, he'd have the impact Tysons pace used to have down the left. I for one would be sad to see findley leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Findly cant find the back of the net even when its open, pay him to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody has any real basis to judge our current strikers, as very few of them have been given a real run in the side. McGoldrick and Tudgay looked sharp against Villa, so let's give SOD the chance to run the rule over and bring the best out of these players, before we start slagging them off. No matter who is in the squad, they are Forest players, and were are Forest fans. COYR.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ok so findley cant find the net, hmmm i seem to recall a time when he did score a goal

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely we should be giving derbyshire another chance.he was injured most of last season..come on guys be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

Op here i agree I can't see this happening just what I have been told so passing it on

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd give our existing strikers a chance. I remember DJ being a 'poor signing' and being sent out on loan and was about to leave permanently till he got a second chance. Then he banged them in.

Agree1 Disagree0

Our strikers, starting from worst to best are as follows: Derbyshire, Findlay, McGoldrick, Miller, Tudgay, Blackstock. Would love to sell the bottom 4 mind. Although McG/Miller may become good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Having watched the villa game, miller looked poor and uninterested. dex was ok but tudgay and mcgoldrick looked sharp! findley could do a job on the wing maybe with his pace but will always miss more than he will score. a proven goalscorer like maynard would give us that extra option which could be the difference between a mid table and another playoff season!

Nottingham Forest are trying to bring defender Kelvin Wilson back from Celtic on loan. (Daily Star)

Believable17 Unbelievable21

Why are we having to resort to bringing players in on loan? Same position as last year after Doughty resigned. Barely spent the money from Gunter.

Agree0 Disagree1

Looks like he is off to ipswich

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people getting so ragged off about the club not spending money for ? If the club Can get some quality additions in by not spending money , then we doing well. I would suggest if any of you don't like it , move down south and support Portsmouth for the next 4 days . We should be pleased we have a squad of players here for the coming season , sort memory's .some people. Get behind the club . Rant over

Agree2 Disagree0

Look what happened to leicester and people want us to spend loads straight away? we are going the right direction

Agree1 Disagree0

It sounds like we have a load of Billy Davis fans on here not happy unless we spend fortunes on stella signings,I am quite happy with players who are happy to be playing for our great club.
I was impressed with Collins and Harding and think Mussa will be a good adition to our squad.Halford looked a bit slow but maybe he needs time to get fitter

Agree1 Disagree1

'Same position as last year after Doughty resigned' - Muppet!

We are 3 weeks in a new sustainable 3-5 year business model. What on earth are you expecting?? For us to throw money about and run the club at an uncontrollable loss like the last chairman? Muppet!

512

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be a great signing IF we can pull it off. Fed up of these people moaning about us not spending millions, what we are doing is the correct way to run our club at this moment in time. We don't want players coming in on big fees (and big wages) and then flopping

Agree0 Disagree0

If Wilson is up for sale we will get him. He would be a great addition. A back 4 of Halford Wilson Collins Harding, looks good

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people either don't know or seem to forget that loan signings aren't free. In effect we rent the player from their parent club and pay either some or all of their wages while they are here.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be happy with Kelvin coming back. Hope we can go for hammill too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let us see how we are doing after the transfer window closes and spend in January if needed. [ in fact look at the result of loan signings last january ] I like it so far and more to come yet.COYR.

Birmingham want to take Guirane N'Daw on loan again, but face competition from Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Who is he and who does he play for?

Agree0 Disagree0

Guirane N'Daw (born 24 April 1984 in Rufisque) is a Senegalese football midfielder who plays for Saint-√Čtienne of the French Ligue 1. He previously played for Sochaux and Nantes in France, for Zaragoza in Spain and for Birmingham City in England.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was In the directors box vs villa

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he was sat with maynard hamill and beckford

Ayala will be signed on a season long loan and the Syrian goalkeeper will also sign but moussa and the rest of the Syrian players will not be signed

Believable5 Unbelievable19

Oh no. It's the guy who thinks Kuwait is the same place as Syria again (fortunately for the Kuwaitis in the present circumstances, it's the other side of Iraq). If he/she doesn't know which country they're from, the info is certainly "unreliable".

Agree0 Disagree0

The keeper is Kuwaiti and none of the middle eastern trialists will sign due to work permit conditions. Moussa is likely to sign so seems your rumour lacks a backbone

Agree0 Disagree0

Moussa's no good! {Ed034's Note - He sounds like he's done well in his trial

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2012 20:50:16
The club is in negotiations to sign the Kuwaiti trio Khalid Al-Rashidi, Bader Al-Mutawa and Hussain Fadel

Agree0 Disagree0

Moussa looked very good on sat, I know it's only one game bt he did look fast and read the game well......hope we give a chance

Agree0 Disagree0

we are also signing maynard for 3 million this week would be a good buy i think

Believable8 Unbelievable9

3 million my ....

Agree0 Disagree0

We've been signing Maynard for the past 2 weeks...

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol it's just not going away this one is it?!? I'm not so sure we are dex needs a foil yeah but maybe SOD sees him already being on board? What we need is wingers and more depth at the back and if lil owd me knows that I'm sure the gaffer does
Notts Loyal

Agree0 Disagree1

We are desperate for a 20 goal a season striker?, ed who was the last forest striker to achieve this ? {Ed034's Note - Was it David Johnson??

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it pierre van hooijdonk

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah thats right, we need wingers like hammill and defensive backup , midfielders, strikers we have enough of. lets hope we put in a bid for hammill who can play both wings :)

Agree0 Disagree1

I believe you're right Ed - it was indeed David Johnson

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep it was Johnson, in 2002/2003

Agree0 Disagree0

Not Silenzi then

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought it was jack lester?

Agree1 Disagree0

I would like to see Maynard come in but SOD won't sign a striker until the rest of the squad is sorted as he said in his interview we have too many strikers. Also west ham won't let him go unless Caroll signes and that is looking unlikely

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was Big bad Bob Rosario or maybe Garry Bannister or how about David Currie!! Oh how we have had some top strikers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure Grant Holt hit 20 a few years ago? in all comps

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2012 20:49:25
twitter suggesting there WILL be a forward being signed but NOT until we get rid of a few which is fair enough. I don't think the transfer fee is an issue but if u think Findley, Derbyshire & Macodnought will have maybe 30k a week in wages between them & they are 4th 5tg & 6th choice & both Mcgugan & Raddy can play off Dex. So let's get them gone. Put them in a raffle or something!

Agree0 Disagree0

What happened to A Le F rumours.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure Jason Lee scored 20 goals....in his full career...or am I just pushing the boat too far?

Agree0 Disagree0

Forest will announce tomorrow the signings of Ayala on a season long loan and Franck Moussa on a free. Also later on in the week Ryan Hall will be signed and Ryan Shotton on loan for the season. COYR!! {Ed034's Note - Be happy with that. Just one more winger and possibly a striker, but the striker is just me being greedy

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Two season-long loans, a free and a Div 1 winger is hardly pushing the boat out. We need a proven championship goalscorer or we will struggle for goals again like last season.

Agree0 Disagree4

Would be very happy with that! solid defence, good midfield and a exciting winger having hall.. pep will take centre stage in the champ! and a first class finisher alongside dex would have be optimistic for a promotion push.
not gonna get too carried away tho.
YOU REDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Another striker (assuming we sign bader al-mutawa) isn't really necessary. if SOD gets the team playing football, hopefully we'll make a fair few chances and the goals will come. it would be nice to have a 20 goal a season man but it's not essential. those kind of players are pretty hard to come by anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

We have a 20 goal a season man. Dexter Blackstock. If he had been available all last season he would of hit that target!! Tudgay is there to, 10 goals at least. We also have Miller and Derbyshire. They are gunna score the odd goal if not more. Also lets not forget the midfielders especially Lewis and Radi. And Collins can grab a couple from the corners. We have goals in this squad and plenty of them. We just need the chances to be created (Reidy, Lewis, Adlene, Radi) and these players coming in, Shotton = pace and a good croos, Hall quality crosser abit of pace and he can score too!! Come on lads get behind the team this season!! We all know that this season nothing is gunna come at the end. This is the season to gel and push big time next season!! YOOOOOUUU REEEDDDSSS!!

Agree0 Disagree0

If thats true our squad will be full
2keeper
3 rbs 4 cbs 1 lb
2 rms 7 cms 1 lm
6 cfs

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be delighted with that.. Defence would be done, we already have one of the best midfields in the league and I think some of the strikers will step it up this season.. Don't shout at me but I can see mcgoldrick or Derbyshire being a vital player next year

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed we don't need another striker, if we play the way the manager wants to play then players like Reid, mcgugan, majewski will be key in making the chances for blackstock and the other strikers. We just need some more defensive cover and a couple of quick wingers. Would be happy to see moussa sign

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster above 'hardly breaking the bank' im not sure why we need to spend big if the freebies are out there - lets not be a pompy!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not really ed a top striker is a must

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget we are strongly linked with James coppinger too

Agree0 Disagree0

Shotten will not be signed. Played a big part for stoke last season and will play again regularly for them this season

Agree0 Disagree0

I still think we need more defenders. 3 senior players and lascelles isn't enough at centre back. Like SOD said in his BBC interview he needs 6/7 new defenders

Agree0 Disagree0

We can do much better than this 4. We want players to improve the squad, not journeyman who are scrapping around for a contract. We've got a fantastic academy. Why not blood some youngsters?

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2012 16:10:33
apparently we are targeting the Southampton forward Tadanari Lee, don't know how much we're going to spend on him though.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Sorry Forest fans but this is never gonna happen but you can take Barnard if you like!? All the best for next season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure the guys injured for the next couple of months....

Notts County want to bring Bredon Maloney in on a 3month loan, with a view to purchase the Right Back, as Freeman is out of the Question.

Believable14 Unbelievable18

I'd let them have him, not good enough at championship level

Agree0 Disagree3

Let him go we have freeman and halford at rb
collins lascelles and possibly ayala at cb and harding at lb
my prefered defence would be
Freeman halford collins harding

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if it was going to happen for him it would have by now, its probably best for all concerned if he moves on.

Agent 279

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard a rumour freeman does not fit in sod plans went down yesterday freeman best full back at club

Agree0 Disagree1

Gotta say, i think freeman is class, on the 2 occasions i've seen him he has not put a foot wrong..good experience last season at county and mansfield, he should now be pushing harding for the left back slot...reminds me of shorey. {Ed034's Note - Before people say it. The guy is right footed but can play both equally well. We have trained him up as a lb for a number of years

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I thought Halford was better at RB yesterday

C8RED

Agree1 Disagree0

My prefferedd defence is halford lascelles collins harding do u agree? {Ed034's Note - With what we have at the moment, yes. Add in Ayala for lascelles and that would be a very solid back four.

Agree0 Disagree0

I watched the game yesterday and this bloke is spot on, you can dee Collins as the new leader and with lachelles looking classy at the side of him would be my preferred choice. Harding was solid, caught a little by the pace of n'zogbia but a vast improvement on last year coyr

Agree1 Disagree0

Let Maloney go to notts, I'd even let him go to Dierby Clownty. He has had numerous chances but cannot give us that reliability and class to go chasing promotion. The new defence looks better than last year coyr

Agree0 Disagree0

Iwould let maloney leave so he can have a career and would also give freeman a run in the team he has played 5 times for forest 4 pre season games and 1 fa cup game and got man of the match also was named league 1 player of the month in his first month at county what more does this kid have to do to get the nod us fans at forest and i know alot of county fans agree this young talent is being wasted by not getting regular first team football

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think maloney is good enough and SOD didnt sound too pleased with him in his intiview

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see that SOD is involved in all footballing maters at the club. I understand he was present for most of the under 18's recent game and probably offered technical advice. The point is, SOD clearly has the ability to change a team and take it to the next level, that cannot be in doubt (Bournemouth, Doncaster, forest and even had an impact at Crawley for the short time he was there.
What he has never had before is the funds and resources with which to take his project to the next level on. Well, he has now...COYR,s

Believable12 Unbelievable7

He's been manager of only teams who play in red/have red in their kit? Legend!

Agree0 Disagree0

On the evidence of his current tranfer deaings I dont think hes doing much more than shopping for bargains even now. I wait to be proved wrong.

Agree0 Disagree1

What is it with you negatons (just made that up) should we have gone out and bought Man Citys second string..we're making progress the sensible way

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm happy with the SO'D appointment, very happy with the transfers in and out and really looking forward to the new season. Being critical though, we are just missing the blockbuster signing to get our pulses racing. {Ed034's Note - Im really hoping we make a huge signing on the wing

Agree0 Disagree0

I seem to remember a very good manager called Brian Clough who loved to shop for a bargin and one Stuart Pearce comes to mind along with Gary Birtles so don't knock SoD just yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great rumour ?

Agree0 Disagree0

He has not spent any money we need to spend we need to buy someone who can score week in week out at the moment we have a worst squad then last season {Ed034's Note - it's only the defence that has changed drastically and I disagree the ones we have signed, are worse than the ones gone. The only place we are not as good in is rw

Agree1 Disagree0

You have to first assemble a squad, test it against reasonable opposition and assess the week area. For this we have the funds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its pleasing to see a lot of sensible replies to the "lets blow millions" posts on here

pinxton

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with the Brian Clough comment. How many of those complaining now would have criticised the transfer policy of a newly arrived Mr Clough?!

Splashing the cash on signings doesn't make the player you buy any better. Splashing the cash on wages for new signings won't help with squad cohesion either.

In SoD we Trust!

Forest in talks with Shamrock Rovers to bring in Central midfielder, Ronan Finn on a 2year deal worth £250,000.

Ronan completed a successful first season at Rovers helping them win the Airtricity League of Ireland Premier Division and also playing in the Europa League group stages in 2011.

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Is this because we are in dire need of a CM?

Agree0 Disagree0

Another midfeilder that is not a winger
i thought the shamrock player we were looking at was a wideman anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Not another midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

Hearing Ronans name pop up more and more this week, hope it's true but we do need to offload a few central midfielders, like Greening for one!

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Aug 2012 10:02:46
Berra will not be coming to forest now i doubt because leicester stoke and southampton have both shown interest

Believable13 Unbelievable6

That's three clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

And if you doubt he's not coming, does that mean you think he is?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed can you make a room just for all the doom and gloom mongers to go so all us people that are happy and supportive with whats going on at our beloved club dont have to read their negative rubbish (red west) {Ed034's Note - We could do a glass half full page and a glass half empty page. I understand fans having a go now and again, but I don't understand why are already having a go at the owners, new players and the boss' judgement on players. Some are even having a go at the club just because we are being linked with players on here. Madness! But I am a happy clapper, so what would I know ;-)

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Anyone who went to the game yesterday would definitely have nothing bad to say, the the strikers looked sharp, the depth in midfield is very good and the defence looked very sturdy. No complaints at all about the signings!

Agree1 Disagree0

I went to the game yesterday and I amine of those who thought the same as sod in his after match comments,... First half was slow, and obviously full of players learning their roles, not doing on the pitch, what they're being asked to do in training... Last 25 mins or so much more up tempo ... I've a cautious approach and not expecting a lot this season,... Does that make me a moaner ( not a happy clapper)

Agree0 Disagree0

That makes you realistic. A moaner criticizes everything. You didn't criticize but offered your thoughts that are what most people are expecting. Steady hopefully, nothing more nothing less. {Ed034's Note - I'm not talking about performances. I don't get how people can judge the owners and new players, without giving them a chance. A fair reflection from what I have been told

Agree0 Disagree0

Message to all the moaners we laughed at that woman from norwich when she did her come on speech but she was right an look at em now

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see were some people coming from, the interview with the new owners couple of saturdays ago saying we will be up there with man utd and man citys saying things like this fans think there going to spend spend spend.
not freebies and sell to buy in which i think they have brought well with, up to yet do hope more to come but in right places 20goalman in which if you want what everybody else wants aswell then you need to pay for it,
its just the waiting again and another 4-5 year plan, we had a five year plan with billy then another with rain man sc. then with last manager all forest fans want best for forest thats why they sometimes have a moan,
at least this time it does look like a fresh start new back4 steady coming in place they say you start from the back lets hope this is a good year

Agree0 Disagree0
