Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren wants former Holland midfielder Bolo Zenden, 34. He is available on a free from Sunderland. Past it but cheap...I guess thats the order of the day...is that the steller siging ? oh gawd, is that all we've gotta look forward to ??

Believable11 Unbelievable2

I want a friggin miracle

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he would be a great signing brings some experience which we badly need and he will be more than capable at this level with his ability. Your a plank if you think this is a bad signing played premier league last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Call me Woody if you like but, at 34 going on 35 he will stuggle to last / play for whole season and hes not very fast these days....umm a bit like Reidy

Agree0 Disagree0

Granted he's not quick, but McClaren is looking for experience and creativity, which both Reid and Zenden have.

Worry not felllow reds i bring good news
six players will be signed this transfer window, just waiting for confermation from their relative clubs. I do know that Owen hargreves could be a possible signing as could Reo Coker. Two players are flying out tonight to meet up and train with the squad. One from germany and the other is from turkey. But let me state again players will be coming in and we can all breath a sigh of relief. I know it is frustrating with other teams already buying, but Forest will bring in some fantastic players in the coming weeks.

Believable14 Unbelievable17

Bull crap Hargreaves is injury waiting to happen...REo Coker has been on 40k a week....umm err way way above Mark As wages cap...no chance...get real WORRY

Agree0 Disagree0

I have that horrible feeling that Forest are going to be left behind in the transfer stakes due to those at top having ambition bigger than their cheque books .....again

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see us signing anyone elsa and what really pees me off they soon send you your season ticket renew but think if we dont get anyone to strenghten the team forget keeping hold of Cohen, Gunter, Camp they soon all go where the ambition....the board again only does one thing at our club... fooks it up

Agree0 Disagree0

Very true.We have the basis of a very good team, we just need that final push to beef it up with 4 or 5 quality players.I don t think those holding the purse strings have got the balls to do it though"Speculate to accumulate"

Once again we've all been fooled by the Doughy/Arthur sucker punch....yee gawds even Steve McClaren feel for it

Believable24 Unbelievable5

Shouldnt that be 'fell' not 'feel'

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the case he will be gone by jan.. :(

Agree0 Disagree0

I am very much afraid it'll be a rerun of the last months of the Paul Hart era, greatbteam just missing out, poor planning, lack of cash and/asset stripping meant we struggled badly and manager took the blame...you are right I really hope it doesnt come to this but, I give Steve M until Jan following a rele struggle :((((

Agree0 Disagree0

Doughty not Doughy lol, although perhaps he has put on some weight

Unbelievable

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy was right

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd be f**ked without Doughty, stop moaning about the fact we've sold or let go a lot of players that aren't good enough...

Agree0 Disagree0

Silly to argue about need for 'qaulity' whenm your left with the like of the really not good enough players, Tudgay, McGoldrick, Garner....Bennett was the best left back at the club if you ask me, and earnshaw the best striker by a mile, why didnt we start contract negotiations with him 6-7 months ago then at least we'd have a fee...forward plan ? ooops no, sorry frying pan

Agree0 Disagree0

We offered earnie a new contract last summer.

If you have the phone number of a gullible billionaire you'd better get in touch. If not then stfu.

Just out having a meal in Alanya, Turkey and who should sit across the table from me but Kris Boyd. He says that MA had told him that they were getting rid of BD whether we gained promotion or not and there was little chance of us signing him because of his wages.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

You are a liar or MA is an even bigger prat than we already think...how demotivating to say that to a player we loaned to help us get promotion before the end of the season

I have it on good authority, I.e someone within the club who wishes to remain anonymous, that forest will not bring in big name championship players as our salary cap is very prohibitive for the kind of players we want to actually sign.

My contact is very frustrated, as us fans are. I'm afraid the next season is going to be very long and hard.

....................................................................

does your source go by the name of david johnson by any chance he was talking about our salary cap on twitter

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Hello. It isn't DJ but someone within the club. If he is saying the same thing then I guess it is common knowledge now about the clubs plight and salary cap and the effect it will have on our coming season.

I believe this strategy is to try and mimic clubs like norwich whose costs are low but profits now high. I guess it is logical seeing how much Doughty is into the club. But a huge shame as it is massively diminishing our chances of promotion and therefore profit.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is 50 odd days to go in the transfer window so plenty of time to sign players. The truth is nobody really knows what goes on behind closed doors and how many players we will bring in, so most of this is complete rubbish.. I do not think Steve Mclaren would have taken the job if he was told there was no money to spend, and he wouldn't waste his time in the championship if he didn't think he would get the backing to get us promoted. I'm just as frustrated as every other fan but good players will have other clubs to chose from not just Forest.

Mate a squad of 13 i think the only sauce you've got is HP

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies for not being clearer. We will sign some players but they will be lower quality I.e we will be stagnating when others are developing. This is where the frustration comes from. No top quality champ players or high values prem loans. Unproven players and has beens will be the order of the day.

Please tell me what this means for tshabalala and forest

Siphiwe Tshabalala's agent has hinted that there could be an offer on the table from an overseas club by the end of the week but it won't be one from the UK.

The 26-year-old Kaizer Chiefs star went on trial at English Championship side Nottingham Forest back in January but their failure to win promotion via the Play-offs and the subsequent sacking of manager Billy Davies means the deal appears to have broken down.

Ex-England boss Steve McClaren was appointed this week at the City Ground and 'Shabba's' agent Jazzman Mahlakgane admits that he is now exploring other options for his client.

"We are working on other projects around Shabba now and not waiting for Forest. I'm hoping by the end of the week we will have an offer or two but not from the UK, " Mahlakgane tells KickOff.com.

"I can't disclose where that might be at the moment because I don't want to do anything that might jeopardise anything. In a few days hopefully we will be home and dry."

Having captained Bafana Bafana to the heroic 0-0 draw in Cairo last week, Tshabalala is currently enjoying some time off before he is scheduled to return to Naturena for pre-season training at the end of June.

But Mahlakgane expects Chiefs not to stand in the midfielder's way should he receive a suitable offer from Europe.

"It's not a secret anymore, everyone knows that he wants to go overseas, " Mahlakgane says. "Even the club acknowledges that it's time for him to leave because he has played in the World Cup and needs to move in order to keep growing as a player.

"It's a mutual situation because both sides believe it is about time he moves now. If we get a good offer, I'm sure the club would be helpful in making the transfer happen."

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Well it means he's not coming to forest

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't mean anything, it says he will return to training at the end of june, meaning this was probs mid june, it has been since then that new developments have come through, and they are more recent than this and are therefore more valid

Agree0 Disagree0

Think about it - this is an agent speaking. What Jazzmag is saying is that he's not waiting for Forest, i.e. we're still interested but dragging our feet. This is just as likely to be a ploy to get Forest to get things sorted quickly as a snub to us. We'll just have to wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its pretty obvious really...

Agree0 Disagree0

I read this story about a month or 2 ago so unless they have longer weeks than us in SA I dont think its true. Looking at comments about shabbas agent he seems bit dodgy. Shabba will stay in SA prob just tryin to build his hopes up

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as long ago as I thought dint spot the mcclaren part lol

Agree0 Disagree0

This report was published on the 24 Jan 2011 which is well out of date

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe it was postponed due to Davies out McClaren in, the offer was possibly still there n now McClaren has given it the green light

forest intrested in signing a spanish left back played for spain also close to signing adam barton from preston highly rated midfielder ( would have liked danny mayor) if possible yorkie the red

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Adam Barton is a terrific talent, but wasn't he linked with Everton not long back? If so it would seem unlikely.

Wasn't it his brother who signed for Aberdoom?

Agree0 Disagree0

That was Isaac Osbourne

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle United have accepted an offer in the region of £1.6m from Nottingham Forest for Wayne Routledge.

I just read this on the Arsenal section of this site:

"Arsenal are to make an improved bid for the highly rated Nottingham Forest Academy player Jamaal Lascelles.
Lasacelles ( Defender ) who has also been a target for Man City and Spurs, is expected to be high on the list for manager Arsen Wenger. Wenger has made no secret of how highly he rates Jamaal , only recentley saying "he could make the first team at Arsenal already" The bid is expected to be in the reigon of about 8 Million having previously seen a bid of 5 Million rejected. Lascelles is 17 and his current contract is due to end in the summer of 2013." Any truth in it?

Believable11 Unbelievable17

No truth whatsoever. Arsene has very definitely not said that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Knowing this club he has already been sold for 1 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lascelles is highly rated by Forest. He's been tracked by a number of Premiership sides. Arsenal have had a bid rejected.

im sorry but unless forest seriously start sigening players we are going to be in some serious trouble, the strikers we have at the club at the moment are nowhere near good enough to push us for promotion, earnies gone and according to bristol city, Leicester look ahead in the race to sign maynard. Leicester already have tied down david nugent, mackal-smith has moved to brighton what left is there with the quality to score goals in this league ? forests squad is looking thin and this needs to be addressed fast, its ok being patient but when you have the teams there are in the championship at the moment and the money they are splashing around forest need to act now.

Please forest wake up and start signing some new players

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Relax its early july, mcclaren wants to make sure we only sign the best and many teams have raced into signings without thinking just to gain numbers

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the original post. Forest are a joke. earnie gone, Joe garner to step in? haha what a joke. Forest need players now so they can gel in training and the pre season games. same story every year, we only want signings who will move us forward and then they never arrive. Oh tell a lie they signed that really prolific striker ermmm think his name is tudgay what a joke

john the egg has told me that calderwood has been told to consider retirement from management in order to take the assistant managers role at forest.
by retiring from management and remaining in an assistant role, hibs (who really are playing hard ball) would get nothing and i hear it's legally tight. any lawyers out there willing to comment? thanks.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

This is technically correct, though it has never been tested in a court of law. The way football contracts work in general are a very grey area since they are against the way standard employment terms and conditions apply.

Agree0 Disagree0

Col mate, you need to go and pay for your own lawyer, not get legal advice off some randoms on the internet
