dont think cox will be signing he played for wba tonight so why would wba let him play and risk injury if he was leavein think its time to move on with this rumour .......trentend sam....

Believable10 Unbelievable9

I have to say in not overly disappointed with that, although the fact he played doesn't mean he isn't signing

Agree1 Disagree0

We can only hope he doesn't! {Ed034's Note - The fact Swansea, Celtic and Blackburn are after him, suggest he's a decent player

Agree1 Disagree0

Why should they not play him?
We've only enquired and not bid for him yet.. If we can't get Maynard we will make a move for cox {Ed034's Note - there are more than one journo who ate saying We have bid for him and it has been accepted. We have spoken to his representative and the ball is in his court. As for playing for them, at least he'll be match fit lol

Agree0 Disagree0

WBA have accepted a bid from Forest for Cox. Although thats no guarantee we will get him due to other clubs intrest..We are in with a shout

Agree0 Disagree0

He is now 5th choice striker at WBA so think it's s foregone conclusion he will go in this window and if he chooses us over the teams ed mentioned then it's s credit to nffc. We played 4 strikers tonight over 90 minutes and there's a good chance that some if them will move on so don't agree with op

Simon

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't realise we were that close to signing him ed.. My soured have told me that we are trying to get a deal sorted for Maynard, I assumed we would go fr cox if that was a non goer

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont rate him myself, he hasnt done anything in the last 3 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Derbyshire proved yet again why he needs to be first out the door. McGoldrick and Findlay seem keen to impress. Miller is anyones guess.

J

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we don`t get Cox, not impressed with him at all!

Agree1 Disagree0

S O'driscoll has confined we have spoke with WBA and his representatives

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea enquired about him a while back but they are not linked anymore. Besides Swansea can't attract quality strikers Ed. graham is ok, Lita and Luke Moore are poor. As for Celtic and a relegated Blackburn, well say no more, hardly top clubs, look at his WBA record, very poor. {Ed034's Note - Swansea - premier league, after last season are eyed as an attractive club; Blackburn - just relegated, have money to spend and favourites to go up; Celtic - always an attractive club, will guarantee league win, champions league, huge and noisy crowd.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Sean thinks he's good enough then he's good enough. Let's be grateful we are going out and buying these players. Don't forget it wasn't long ago we had to bring in marlon harewood due to cash!
Simon {Ed034's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take him but rather have Maynard

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know anything about the lad but Cox was the only one who tried to do anything for Ireland in Euro2012. Maybe he is lacking games but I don't think SOD would bid for him if he didn't think he could revitalise his attacking prowess. If nothing else, he works very hard and has more skill on the ball than Tudgay. Plus he's faster than Tuds. And of all the strikers on Forest's books, on sheer merit of working so hard, the award has to go to Tudgay.

Cohen has injured his knee again. don't know how bad it is. could just be a problem with his rehab.

Believable10 Unbelievable15

Was told he tweaked a hamstring in warm up on staurday

Agree0 Disagree0

I commented on the online text commentary last night and I've been told its just become a bit inflamed over the past week or so, so thats why he's not featured in villa or county games

Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the capture of Norwich City defender Daniel Ayala.

Believable20 Unbelievable7

Great signing! What we reckon then boys- halford lb Collins and Ayala cb's and Harding RB? That's a quality back four! Freeman, Maloney, lascelles as back up? That's how you bring on the young uns shrewd move AGAIN SOD
C'mon u red uns!
Notts Loyal

Agree0 Disagree0

Well harding is a left back, and halford a centre back / right back. so i'm guessing you're going to be wrong. {Ed034's Note - Lol

Agree0 Disagree1

Ssn reporting that Leeds are interested I. Maynard. The signals are that he is available so sign him up fawaz. Much better bet than cox in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

What's the squad amount up to now?
How many did SOD want in total?
Just so we have an idea who will be surplus to requirements?
IERM

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol fair one! Always get halford n Harding mixed up! From what SOD was saying last night he still wants an out n out right back....

Forest are looking at Charlton right winger Scott Wagstaff. Young fast & good on the ball. Scores a few as well. {Ed034's Note - heard good things about him

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Impressive goal scoring record for a winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Saw play him play a few times last season (my wife is a Charlton fan) and he is a good player. Not sure Powell would want to lose him

that Nottingham Forest boss Sean O'Driscoll has set his sights on Norwich City defender Elliott Ward.

Believable17 Unbelievable16

Just read this on SS.com id be happy with him coming in, didnt look to bad towards end of last season.

Agree1 Disagree0

The Norwich fans seemed wounded about Ayala going but would rather it was Ward - take from that what you will! Then again thats their opinion and against prem clubs not champ. The plus side if this comes to fruition would be of course they have played together and would be excellent center halves together.
Ian T

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he'd be a good signing but i'm not sure i can see Norwich letting us have him unless they sign another centre back as it would leave them with only 3

Agree0 Disagree0

Ward was on loan at Doncaster 2 seasons ago and SoD wanted him to sign then but club didn't have the finances.

We are trying to loan Ji Dong Won from Sunderland

Believable6 Unbelievable21

I doubt it, he started in for south Korea and scored when they beat TeamGB at the Olympics. i just dont think sunderland will let him go

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mate come on get real. Do you know what his wage is? Why would he leave as prev guy has just said he played for South Korea and in Prem would be an unnecesary step down to us.
Ian T

Agree0 Disagree0

His wage is only 20k, of which we wouldn't pay ALL, and he is far from a 1st team player currently. Why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

there could be upto 6 signings today there is so much going on just wait and see

Believable8 Unbelievable22

If there was 6 signings today i'd personally come round your house and serenade you somehow

Agree0 Disagree0

Aa agreed. OP I think you're just getting a wee bit TOO excited but love the optimism though!
Ian T

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok lol looking foward to it

Agree0 Disagree0

2 done

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy with 3 by the weekend though

Agree0 Disagree0

You can really disagree here people. There COULD be...

Great business done today! Looks like its shaping up to be an exciting week.

Fawaz had tweeted again - Ayala in on loan. Now for Cox ?

Believable15 Unbelievable4

Brilliant signing, i hope that there are no recall clauses in it because if there is it will be a waste of time. but i don't think a player can be recalled if it's a season loan {Ed034's Note - I don't think they can be. I hope we have a transfer fee included in it

Agree0 Disagree0

Such a quality defender! can only benefit him playing alongside someone like collins too. Really pleased with that one

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. With respect to the others which have all been quality additions this guy is definately the best defender yet, hope it's with a view to signing permanent come end of season.

Ian T

Agree0 Disagree0

You cannot put a recall on any on season loans this is an fa rule the only exception are goalkeepers and recall to sell

Jamaal Lascelles has signed a 4 year contract!

Believable15 Unbelievable2

As good as any signing we have made brilliant

Agree0 Disagree0

That is possibly the best signing of the summer !

Agree0 Disagree0

Very shrewd piece of business because when the big clubs come in for him they'll have to buy out the remainder of his contract, likely to be at least 2-3 years.

Heard through the grapevine that David McGoldrick is considering a move away from the City Ground. And get this ! Derby County are odds on to capture him! Bye bye David ,David goodbye. You could,ve at least chose a more stable club then Derby?

Believable4 Unbelievable6

That would be brilliant!! The best piece of business we could do all summer.:)

We've just signed cox from WBA, I've a friend who's a scout at WBA Loughborough Red

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Good but a bit overlaoded with strikers now. Wingers and defensive cover major prioroty. Come on Fawaz keep tweeting!

Agree0 Disagree0

If the fee is as people have said, 2.8m then that is hugely over priced for a chap that has done absolutely jack in the last two years! I'll happily eat my words come Xmas though if he is free scoring!

Agree0 Disagree0

There is nothing on our OS. Nothing on WBA OS. Or anywhere else. Is there a tweet from our owners anywhere? Or is this just someone else talking garbage?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a premier league player at prime age

Agree0 Disagree0

It's someone guessing of course, our interest was only documented officially yesterday, but with the signing of Rosenberg for WBA maybe the cox deal will gather some pace, apparently we've also made offers for 2 of the kuwaiti's so those 3 along with potentially Ayala would make me happy

Agree0 Disagree0

Not worth 2.8m. Our priority should be a CB and wingers!! {Ed034's Note - I'm site it is a priority but it shouldn't stop us also looking for a striker that can improve the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

After Billy Sharp who is clearly not going to move he is the most experienced striker for our squad. Proven goal scorer, won promotion from Championship, an established international and great team player. Bring him on!

Agree0 Disagree0

To people who say Cox would be a good signing...his record for West Brom is 10 goals in 65 games...sounds like McGoaldrought

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgoaldrought is not in the prem tho is he, and there is alot of diffrents

Agree0 Disagree0

We have not signed cox yet. Albion have agreed the fee with us. So not yet completed. No doubt Cox will need to discuss personal terms.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like i said my friends a scout at WBA inside info

Nottingham forest are trying to bring tottenham striker harry kane and winger danny rose in on a season loan

Believable11 Unbelievable17

Forest been trying for the past 24 months!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny rose going to WBA season long loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry looks like cracking young striker,he as been under harry rednapp so will have the right atittude. Danny rose will not drop a league ,so i can,t see this coming off but it would be great if it did

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good striker harry kane and will score goals

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a Danny so he must come to Trentside!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see it happening myself, but they would be two very good additions to the squad!

Agree0 Disagree0

Forest have had a bid rejected by Boro for Marvin Emnes. My Dad is good friends with Marvins agent who has confirmed this. Miller could be involved in the deal going the other way.

Believable11 Unbelievable17

I don't think this would improve our squad at all

Agree0 Disagree1

Boro have been rumoured to be interested in miller Before.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I have to say the part involving Miller going the other way definitely improves our squad (this is unfortunate as I really hoped he would be a success for us when he signed). Whether Emnes is the answer to our attacking issues I am not so sure!

Agree0 Disagree0

Emnes is as idle as Miller

West brom just signed a new striker Rosenberg could we now see the cox deal speed up? I think he could be the right man to partner dexter up top. I think we will see some players leaving SOD said he wanted a squad of about 25. Could start to get busy again

forest to sign simon cox for 2.8million and ayala on loan in next 48 hours

Believable23 Unbelievable11

Ayala deal won't happen unless we buy him as he doesn't want another loan deal. {Ed034's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure about this 2.8m seems alot for him. especially when we have so many strikers already and the money could be better spent elsewhere new CB and a RW have to be priority. UUUREDS!

Agree1 Disagree0

Cox was class at Swindon and looked good when WBA got promoted so I'm excited about him signing. In SOD we trust!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Well done 50% right so far, lets hope you get the other 50% correct. {Ed034's Note - I think you mean 50% wrong. Ayala has arrived on a loan, not perm

Agree0 Disagree0

2.8 in every way is way way too much rather spend it on a out and out right winger (or 2) {Ed034's Note - Why not spend the same again on two wingers??

Agree0 Disagree0

nottingham forest to sign
danny higginbotham this week
and alson have made a bid for simon cox
ayala is in talks

Believable20 Unbelievable10

Why do we want Higginbotham when others are already in talks?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because his name is Dan and we like our defenders to be Dan!

Ayala is now thinking of staying and fighting for his place at ncfc according to various press today. Also the bid for cox was in the region of 2.75million which has been accepted from WBA. We are so far the only club to meet the valuation. Maybe sods Irish connection will push this through! Think Wilson will now be lined up should Ayala fall through

Simon

Believable11 Unbelievable12

For someone who has not played for the baggies and scored 9 or 10 in two years this seems a lot of money. However he has proven he can score goals in the past and lots of them, so we will see! Not really had a chance at west brom. Give me Maynard any day of the week though

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2012 01:03:03
We have offered Quadsia a total of 1 million dollars for pair Bader Al-Mutawa and Hussain Fadel.

Surely this means they can get a work permit?

Believable14 Unbelievable9

Hope not. If they do come I hope the owners don't force SOD to play them or get frustrated when he doesn't. These players are being foisted on us unfortunately. Nothing against them personally and I hope they prove to be astute buys but just cannot see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll admit, I was a little concerned when the takeover first happened and we were linked with people like Hoddle, Sven and Maradona as manager and we'd be taking loads of Middle Eastern players on trial. The Daily Mail added fuel to the fire by saying that SOD was only going to pick the team and the board were going to pick transfers.

However, there is no way that the players signed so far are so-called 'big name' players brought in without the manager's say so. There was a possibility that Geudioura was signed to appease the fans but I think Harding and Halford are magnificently astute signings at Championship level and I find it difficult to believe that they're the kind of names our new owners even knew about; they're 100% SOD's picks.

If (and it's still a big if) we do sign any Middle Eastern players I think, while the new owners probably brought them over for the opportunity, we should all have faith that SOD is the one who thinks they'll add something to the squad and he's the one who makes the decision to sign them up or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

The club owners want Forest in the premiership so why would they mess about with the manager and his team selection. Some people who post on this site really haven't got a clue have they.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, clearly SO'D thinks they can offer us something. 2 year deals we have offered them so if it doesn't work out then it's not a length contract to add to the woe

Agree0 Disagree0
