United hint of a robbie Brady season long deal loan with forest

Believable11 Unbelievable18

He a winger?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he's a winger.
Was on loan at Hull City last season, played 41 games

Adam le fondre spotted in Nottingham with family hopefully we sign him as he couldn't stop scoring in championship for reading

Believable10 Unbelievable25

No he hasn't, don't talk wet

Agree3 Disagree0

Yeah he was also round my house

Agree1 Disagree1

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, Im quite good friends with Adam and he's been told he's going to get to the chance to prove himself, there has been championship interest for him but as far as he's concerned he wants to play in the prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasn't exactly first choice for reading last season, but he did well when given the chance, he'll be on the bench a lot more this season there, he'd do well at forest if he starts often.

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said above I know Adam quite well and he had discussed where he stands at the club before the summer break, he will be there to fight for a premier league place and if its not working look for a Jan move

A couple of people I know connected to the club say the cox deal hinges on his wage demands. If he gets what he wants he will be on a few k more than miller who I think is 16-17. I'd imagine cox looking for 20-25 per week to sign. There have been further talks today though and also Franck moussa will sign for 2 years by the weekend

Simon

Believable8 Unbelievable17

If thats true then we need to walk away, if his ambition is based on greed then let him warm the bench at the Baggies. {Ed034's Note - and in the real world a player will get whatever he can, like you would at your job. If he wasn't ambitious and was only after the money, he would stay in the prem, earning more money than he would here. The fact he is talking to us shows he wants to play football

Agree2 Disagree0

Agree with moussa bt cant imagine cox being on 20k+

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed. I agree, providing you are good at your job, Cox is hardly a prolific target man, he did well at Swindon but has struggled at an higher level, hes hardly in a position to make wage demands, would rather go for Billy Sharpe who can be deadly in this league. theres a lot of negatives re Cox across the many nffc forums.

Agree0 Disagree0

Walk away he isn't a 20k per week striker. We've been here before we can get better for that money

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree he's not 20k+ but he could be prolific at this level given regular starts as a striker, the rare chances es had at Albion are on the wing.. His hatrick against Cardiff proves this

Agree1 Disagree0

Spot on, he's hardly prolific enough to demand high wages. Give him an offer, if he doesn't like it, move on, he ain't THAT good

Agree1 Disagree0

I seriously hope he doesn`t come to Forest, would sooner see LeFondre being signed up than Cox.

Cox is not good enough! {Ed034's Note - Yes he is! Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh no he's not! Any decent champ striker more get more than 1 goal in the prem in 2 seasons given the chance! {Ed034's Note - Oh yes he is. The fact that premier league, top end championship and Celtic are either after him, or have bid for him this summer, tells me that he is a good player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cox is a class act at our level, he also plays regular for Ireland, where as ALF has been prolific at Rotherham

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who put : "theres a lot of negatives re Cox across the many nffc forums". As long as there aint a lot of negative comments on the WBA forums who see him play every week (when WBA decide to play him in position) then I'm not bothered what most of our negative fans think!

Agree0 Disagree0

Alf didn't do bad at reading last season eitherbiwill keep saying it choice between cox and Maynard in my opinion and it should be maynard we get

Agree0 Disagree0

I think simon makes porkies

Agree0 Disagree0

If his interest is purely down to how much money he can make rather than playing in a red shirt move on he isn't that good as so many of us agree!

Simon cox passed his medical and is to be unveiled tomorrow

Did you just read the rumour replies from before? and then thought... hmmm , cox has passed his medical

Some Stoke fans reckon we might have bid for Ryan Shotton.

Believable13 Unbelievable12

Hope so good young defender

Agree0 Disagree0

A player that would fit well

Agree0 Disagree0

He is actually a winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Apologies, he can actually play right wing and right back

Agree0 Disagree0

He is actually both. Has played both positions for stoke last season. This would be a fantastic signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Plays right back or right wing, his long throws would be a useful weapon too

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a great addition

Agree0 Disagree0

How much could we get him for {Ed034's Note - I would presume it would be a loan

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2012 19:48:20
Was told today by player who is going out on loan, that there are 2 surprise signings coming before next sat.wouldn't tell me who though but said i will be very happy.

Believable13 Unbelievable22

Would SOD honestly tell the whole squad the names of players who are coming in? In your world has he held a team meeting to inform everyone of all of the players he wants to sign? This is so stupid it's unreal

Agree0 Disagree0

Never said sod, another player coming in said this.

Cox deal is done, announced tomorrow

Believable9 Unbelievable22

I bet u it's not!

Agree2 Disagree0

No he isn't, we are miles apart regarding wages. Talking to Wolves and Hull about Ebanks Blake and Fryatt respectively

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm not convinced, wouldn't we have heard about a medical?

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm not gonna guarantee it but I am almost certain

Agree0 Disagree1

Fawas tweets before any one knows of any signings so if we have got Cox, why hasn't he tweeted ?

Agree1 Disagree0

1st you say "Cox deal is done"

2nd you say "I am not gonna guarantee it but I am almost certain"

So which comment is true and which one is a lie?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ebanks Blake and Fryatt I don't think so!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no idea whether the deal is done, but in my experience managers tend not to say anything in public unless they are fairly confident about the transfer. O'Driscoll is known for being quiet and guarded so for him to say something to BBC etc would suggest to me there's a good chance its close to being a done deal. He named Collins a couple of weeks back and the deal was done not long later so hopefully this follows the pattern!

Agree0 Disagree0

The first one

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok I reluctantly guarantee it. Same source as told me about Ayala and Harding before I told all of you good peoole

Agree0 Disagree0

I can also remember us talking to the BBC about a certain Mr Whittingham & Mr Pratley. And look where that got us! {Ed034's Note - But that wasn't so'd, I think that's the point

Agree0 Disagree0

1st you say "Cox deal is done"

2nd you say "I am not gonna guarantee it but I am almost certain"

3rd you say "Ok I reluctantly guarantee it"

Be honest mate, you ain't got a clue have you? LOL

Agree0 Disagree0

And you are also quoted as saying "I have no idea whether the deal is done"

Why do you bother mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Guarantee is a big word. I have been told by a VERY reliable source that it's done but if for some unforseeable reason it didn't go through I would look like a liar so I was reluctant. But that wasn't good enough. So I guaranteed it. Now that isn't good enough. I don't know what you want me to say. I apologise. {Ed034's Note - don't apologise, this is a rumour

Agree0 Disagree0

That one wasn't me

Agree0 Disagree0

No need to apologise mate its all just rumours and banter and fun

forest have planned face to face talks with simon cox on friday as they try to convince him to join forest.
Matt derbyshire and david mcgoldrick look set for 6 month loans elsewhere.

Believable10 Unbelievable15

Won't loan mcgoldrick out. He has looked very good in pre season. I think sod will keep him as one of our back up strikers. Tudgay and Derbyshire should be loaned/sold in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree1

Derbyshire needs loan to gain match fitness and form coz cox blackstock miller and tudgay would all be ahead of him and mcgoldrick is a mismatch here

Agree1 Disagree0

Cox been in 2nd round of talks today. See my next post

Simon

Agree0 Disagree0

Try paying attention to what the manager says, he is IMPRESSED by McGoldrick so he is going nowhere. He also had him at Bournemouth and LIKED him!

Agree0 Disagree0

All it take's is the right formula he might go on to bag a lot of goals this season :)

Hi all went to the game last night and got way too excited about the new season in the first half. We have a brilliant starting 11 already so anyone worrying DO NOT. SOD knows what he's doing the football from a strong team in the first half was great and it didn't even include pep. Sod went with camp Halford lascelles Collins and Maloney as a back five Collins was immense nothing gets past him but Maloney still not to standard for me. Mcgugan moussi findley reidy and then mcgoldrick and tudgay Reid looks trimmer than ever and the one touch on the floor passing was brilliant camp looked confident again and was looking for quick plays every time he got the ball I was a bit disappointed with Darlow Maloney and gillet but two young lads and a new starter if they're staying they'll do a job lascelles was brilliant under Collins it's been a few years since I've been excited for a new season but honestly it's time to stop moaning the boys look good last seasons lack of confidence has gone and so has that awful heavy shirt everyone looks good sod is getting them playing cmon you reds lets get behind Sean and the boys west brom up next with cox on our side I said I'd be happy with a top half finish after the games so far I'm optimistic of top 6 the football was great
Sorry it's a long post

Mod red

Believable15 Unbelievable7

Im just as pumped as you champ

Agree0 Disagree0

Reid only had twenty minutes, Greening started and linked up with McGugan. Findley got both assists from right midfield, hopefully he can do a job out there. Fenton did well at left back, Halford looks good at right back. Darlow made a brilliant save and could do nothing about the goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was greening on because reid was on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Early days yet boys. I went too, promising signs tho. Real test on Friday. Happy with the "comeback lot" mcgoldrick greening and findley. All looked sharp all be it against a poor pre season notts county...

Agree0 Disagree0

It was indeed greening I couldn't for the life of me get that last name just thought it must have been Reid findley and Halford looked brilliant down the right I thought Halford was a right centre back but he's a good right back findley looked confident and wanted the ball even derbyshi*e had a bit of confidence and I loved it when we were singing USA USA USA for robbie with confidence he can be a menace sorry about the mistake on greening, told you I was excited ;-)

Mod red

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh and it was the free kick at his near post that I thought Darlow should of got but we were to the side so not a great view. He doesn't look commanding but he's young. Still think we could do with additional cover for camp

Mod red

Agree0 Disagree0

Before anyone judges Gillett, first bare in mind he was a CM playing RB yesterday..

Agree1 Disagree0

Im happy with all additions and think cox is a gr8 player. Atm its about processes not outcomes

Agree0 Disagree0

He went centre mid when Felton and moussi dropped in to the back line and looked very light weight but he did one or two good things. He spreads the ball well if given time just not as strong in keeping or getting the ball like McKenna was he would be a squad player for me

Mod dom

Agree0 Disagree0

I've read this post and the replies several times. Can someone point out where the rumour is? As has been pointed out before, there are many other sites for chatting about team performances etc. The clue is in this website's name. Ed - don't think you should have allowed this one on this page. {Ed034's Note - Wasnt me who added it, so can't really comment. The fact it has annoyed so many people (I have had to delete a lot mentioning this), is rather strange though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post mate I just got my season ticket today so now im well exited, good to hear good comments at last. ....YOU REDS :-)
Glenn

Agree0 Disagree0

How come none of the kuwaits on trail did not play just got bk from turkey and cant find out why please help are they any good

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're being picky there was a cox to forest before west brom sniff in there but that isn't new. Was just a general observation from last night. You're welcome not to read surely?? You have to click on to read the comments. Just wanted to put a bit of genuine optimism out there based on sod and the team and the new season cheer up grumpy bum :-) youuuu redsdd

Re:Kelvin Wilson Celtic only want to sell him not loan him out he would prefer to come back to Forest but Ipswich have also made an offer for him on loan as well.
but we will not know anything as he is in Finland today and then in the U.S back Monday.
He would be good along side Collins from what i saw last night two good tall and solid center halves.

Believable7 Unbelievable14

I'd like Wilson back as It's always good to have a central defender with recovery pace to get back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure Collins and Wilson is a good combination, both left sided centre halves
With Ayala, Halford and Lascelles we have enough right sided CHs, so another left footed defender would be a good addition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need to bring a player back that did not want to be part of the club and left for money, thats all the move to Celtic was about, now he is out of favour and wants to come back,do one Kelvin the clubs moved on and your not part of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Kelvin head butt Halford which led to a red card and the fall out with billy D?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson is right footed...

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think a centre half is still required bt Celtic are short on cbs too

Agree0 Disagree0

Move on from Wilson, chambers took his place and kept it. Look to the future not back. Kelvin is no better defender than when he left us , or he would have played for Celtic regularly.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2012 12:07:04
With regards to simon cox. Celtic will only be interested if they get to champions league. The spl is that poor this season that they don't need him for that given thR strikers they already have. The main competitor is Blackburn who are still hopeful of Rhodes but think cox as backup to that plan. I may be wrong but I think this may drag for another week or so before he decides who to join.

Simon

Believable6 Unbelievable8

So they only want him for CL, so what's that 4/6 games, wouldn't be much point, for Cox anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic make the champs lge every year ?

My 1st post so be kind! Sod has confirmed we are in advanced talks with simon cox from wba, and he is playing down talks of a move for biLly sharp from southampton (ssn) also rumours are that we are making a move for jordan rhodes from huddlesfield with a possibility of a striker going the other way (such as mcgoldrick or derbyshire?) On perminant deals (various) COYR's!

Believable13 Unbelievable13

Would love to see these two putting on the famous shirt but my concern is not so much the strikers is getting the service to them... we are desperate for wide players {Ed034's Note - I think every forest fan agrees about strikers, but I'm also all for players in other positions coming in, as long as they improve what is already there

Agree0 Disagree0

Ten days or so ago I was a little concerned that we were hearing rumours about Strikers before we'd made any defence signings, but with the five recent defensive minded signings (inc Jamaal and Gillet), I'm excited about the possibity of a new strike-partner for Dexter Redsocks! Ureds

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see us going for 2 strikers and Rhodes could be off to a prem club.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to bbc radio nottingham we have had a bid accepted for nicky maynard

Bridgeford Boy2 {Ed034's Note - Can anyone else confirm this???

Agree0 Disagree0

How about £2m plus Derbyshire and McGoldrick for Rhodes? We couldn't get that lucky :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Take them both

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance of Rhodesş.he ıs going to the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Although he seems set for Cardiff Craig Bellamy would be a great signing for one year.

Agree0 Disagree0

BBC Radio Nottingham aint confirming that :/

Agree0 Disagree0

Did findley play wide vrs county. 2 assists sounds like he has found his position

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like SOD is going for the 433 formation with a holding midfielder. We've enough strikers to make that work. Wouldn't be surprised if Findley/Miller/Derbyshire do play more of a wider role this season with Dex down the middle linking with Lewis or Radi.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Findlay played wide right did ok too so my cousin said.......& let's face it an out n out striker he ain't! From what I've seen he needs to work on his final ball though

Agree0 Disagree0

I can confirm the nicky maynard bid thing ed was in my car listening to it last night and it did say something about forest being in talks with maynard so i suppose a bid has been accepted

Liam Main stand {Ed034's Note - thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Bridgeford boy tells porkies!

Simon

Agree0 Disagree1

Mcgoldrick played very well last night, may get a chance under SOD

Agree0 Disagree0

If BBC Radio Nottingham had confirmed this then there would be an article on the BBC website, there isn't so this is all fairytales

Agree0 Disagree0

Simon i can confirm that bridge ford boy was right as i said to ed i heard something about maynard and a bid or something on them lines so i think you need to hear the news before you say others are wrong

Liam main stand

Agree0 Disagree0

We haven't had a bid accepted for Maynard!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you see huddersfield paying derbyshires wages ? in fact who do you think would pay his wages ?(apart from us)

pinxton {Ed034's Note - If he is not part if our plans, let them pay half. Is only paying him half to do the same job, nothing, is better than all

Agree0 Disagree0

Player Agent Darren Jackson was seen at NFFC offices.
This is only a guess, but possibly he was talking about Lucas Neill for a spell at Forest to gel the back 4 together?
We know for sure that Neill is now a free agent, and was unsuccessful at securing a million pound deal in the UAE with Al Shabab (although who knows, it may still be on the cards that he goes there).

Believable5 Unbelievable10

I take it you know that he is lucas niells agent ?

pinxton

Agree0 Disagree0

Well past his use by date!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would suggest that you have had a sherry judging by the time you posted this and the rumour itself is pants.

Agree0 Disagree1

Far to old he is 34 . 10 years to old for our club

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks. A massive no thanks!

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be a great signing if true

Agree0 Disagree1

There are many players with the same agent so i dont think so plus i dont think the FA would allow him to play with his zimmer frame

Agree0 Disagree0

If that is the rationale then I would say no, he is no better than than the players we have already signed.
One piece of the jigsaw left which is a decent right-back. {Ed034's Note - Halford??

Agree0 Disagree0

And Wingers

Agree0 Disagree0

Decent player for Blackburn, then he turned down champions league football with Liverpool for the money at West Ham. No thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

And cover at left back - they're like waiting for buses, you wait for ten years and then two come along at once

Agree0 Disagree0

Neill is a hard, hard player. Not many get past him and if they do... they sure as heck dont do it again

Agree0 Disagree0

He only follows the money. Definitely don't want him, there are better options out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we have Halford, I said a DECENT right back.
Would feel far more comfortable with Greg at right-sided CB {Ed034's Note - So your opinion is he is not a good right back. most Portsmouth fans I speak to say he is. As they have watched him play, I am presuming, a lot more than you, I think I'll be happy with him there

Agree0 Disagree0

Having seen the Villa and County friendliest this week I can confidently say that Halford is a much much better RB then centre back. I was quite impressed with him on the right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently forest have matched asking price for simon cox and will learn in the next 48 hours if he will be joining us, there are at least 5 other clubs interested one of them being celtic

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Morning, SSN reporting this again this morn, tho, interesting at the bottom, Billy Sharp is mentioned........ Sharp for me, yes please!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be very surprised if he went to Celtic. The SPL is a very poor league, probably of similar standing to our L1

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm afraid if in fact Celtic are interested he will be going there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy Sharp every day of the week!

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL is a poor league and now Rangers are gone its even worse, so I would think he will end up in the championship. Would be a great signing for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sharp won't join us, he wants a go in the premiership (read an article in daily mail in past month)

Agree0 Disagree0
