West Brom and Wigan are lining up moves for Nottingham Forest captain Luke Chambers.

Chambers is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree a new deal at the City Ground.

The news has alerted a host of clubs to Chambers' possible availability, with the centre-half regarded as one of the best players outside the Premier League.

West Brom and Wigan are both admirers and they could test Forest's resolve to hang onto the 26-year-old with bids when the transfer window opens next month.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his rearguard as he looks to steer his side clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table.

And West Brom manager Roy Hodgson has made a new defender one of his top priorities in the January transfer window.

Opinion: Well goodbye then [shakes hand]

Thank god, he has been the worst player at our club this season, good riddance

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit harsh id say theres easily worse

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I'd let him go if there was a fee involved that made it worthwhile. He's a good lad and tries hard but I'm unconvinced about his ability. I predict he'll do a Perch and disappear in the Prem...

Agree0 Disagree0

He's committed which I like, but he's only average championship. If the moneys right then let him go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lynch has shown that he is upto the challenge of being a 1st choice centre back. so i think its time for him to move on

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree lynch has looked good.probs best defender of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree chambers has been a liability this season but doesn't selling him leave us with only two senior centre halves on the books plus lascelles?

we are short of central defenders as it is and i can't see where we'll get two from with the few hundred grand we'll get for chambers.

Agree0 Disagree0

"regarded as one of the best players outside the Premier League"

haha! :D

Agree0 Disagree0

Let him go

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a good lad that tries his hardest but he was praised too highly last season due to the performance of his team mates and the mostly the manager.

The defence has been awful this season pre and post McLaren.

I think we will easily cope with him leaving.

The future for Forest is through a real scouting of talent and the giving of opportunities.

Managers that buy success have it easy. I think we have a manager than will find potential!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know what's happened to chambo. Best player last season by far but this season he's crumbled under the pressure of captaincy, give him time. He'll be back to normal

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think we have that sort of time. Agree with everything response stated above. Sorry Luke, but you have been exposed at a time when as captain your skills should have been driving our team on.
As it is, yours is the first head to drop when we go behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chambers is a big lump of lard and we should give him away

Agree0 Disagree0

" Martinez is keen to bolster his rearguard as he looks to steer his side clear of trouble" -

....god knows why he's looking at Chambers then...

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed the amount of mistakes he is making a regular intervals this season are costing us he should of been marking that murray for palace on saturday when he scored instead he was making up ground
