Dubai dynamos league and cup all bought and paid for game is totally being ruined by financial imbalance, not worth watching.

{Ed001's Note - nothing to do with Dubai! Abu Dhabi own City.}

Stevie there's been an in balance since the premier league was formed.
Doesn't matter how many good players you have, the manager still has to get them to gell and keep them all happy.
Remarkable manager who plays the game as it should be played.

18 May 2019 18:30:54
The only transfer we should be talking bout is getting m on out and a new manager in to try and challenge for the play offs. I posted saying the same when he was hired adding boring football and season will fizzle out. if we could just make a football appointment and not one related to sentiment we as a club could Go so far . I fear for next season and as predictable as m on is how long before he signs James McLean.

Just seen that darikwa is in provisional squad for Zimbabwe can someone please explain how a guy born in nottingham can have the right to play for country the other end of the earth and don't say his great grandad once went on all inclusive holiday so he is intiltiled too.

18 May 2019 16:31:28
His grandad went on all inclusive holiday there once

18 May 2019 18:10:57
Jamie ward plays for northern Ireland and is as English as they come and nobody goes there all inclusive 🤣🤣

18 May 2019 19:59:49
Do you qualify for China YellowMan? 🤣

18 May 2019 20:42:10
Redinexile you tell me I had some noodles once

18 May 2019 20:46:43
Only if he drinks plenty of tea red🤣

24 May 2019 08:37:01
His parents are both Zimbabwean so it's not too difficult to work out why he is entitled. (I believe his grandfather lived there but I don't think it was all inclusive)

15 May 2019 21:44:34
And all of the cheats have faded away
Try not worry you’ll cheat once again

15 May 2019 10:32:30
Good one 79.

15 May 2019 11:20:20
Bit early for potatoes?

13 May 2019 10:05:48
Well that's it then league title bought and paid for by Dubai dynamos, their seasons still a failure, when you spend a billion + nothing short of the champions league is enough, bored with being surrounded by celebrating plastics who only see 'their ' team play on sky, the prem is a joke,

13 May 2019 13:19:40
Should we stay put in the championship then?

15 May 2019 11:21:57
So when EM sells the club to Qatar you will be on your bike across to Meadow Lane then?

10 May 2019 15:50:24
Really hope MON goes for quality over quantity this summer. Maybe 6 signings either on free or loan deals. All of whom know English football. No more Dias', Goncalves' types who don't cut it in England.

GK - Hart / Pope / someone similar from PL (loan)
RB - Byram (loan)
CB - someone like Mings (loan from PL)
CM - Colback (free agent)
W - someone like Wilson (loan deal)
ST - someone like Abraham (loan from PL)

Doesn't need big spending in terms of transfer fees. Yes, maybe some higher wage demands but if we can trim the squad and offload around a dozen players, that will go a decent way to helping with cost of strengthening the team.

Thoughts on transfer business and potential chances next season?

Agree2 Disagree1

10 May 2019 17:46:50
Apart from Byram and Colback no chance with the others all of whom will be playing Premiership football next year!

10 May 2019 19:20:31
Not fussed about those two, ones a sicknote the other a plodder.
Prefer the other three but like you say prem bound

10 May 2019 22:21:42
J65, I’d like someone like Ronaldo or someone similar to Messi or someone like Kane or someone similar to Laport or someone like Aguero or someone similar to De Bruyne or someone like Jason Lee.

13 May 2019 10:14:51
Haha I didn't mean specifically those players. I meant players of that quality dropped to Championship last season, so maybe others would do the same next season (hopefully to us).

My point was simply that I'd like a few quality players come in rather than several average players. Also offloading the poor ones we have currently

13 May 2019 10:55:00
Yeah i know J65, was just pulling your leg mate.😁

09 May 2019 23:08:12
Brilliant for English football clean sweep of Europe,
Brilliant listening to "dick emery" trying to speak English.🤣

Mansfield chested by yet another incompetent referee,

06 May 2019 10:33:53
Don't know about you lot but for me, O'Neill and Keane still have to go aswell as bombing out the majority of our underperforming squad. Yes we won our last 3 games but that is no reflection on how we are truly playing. Things won't change under this management duo, players will go, players will come in, but the style of play and tactics won't change. Get ready for more of the same boring fossil football next season if things stay the same. To be honest, i could've cleared off at half time yesterday, i was that bored and the final whistle was a relief, it was like having an aching tooth pulled out. I know we need stability and a break from the managerial merry-go-round but this will only continue with what we've got now. Have we not seen enough to know what to expect next season? Results won't improve and it's deja vu again. We need a new younger manager with fresh ideas who is in touch with the modern game, give him the money to spend and the pre-season or i reckon this management cycle will continue.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 May 2019 17:11:38
So if we bring in a young manager with fresh ideas and he turns out to be rubbish after fifteen or twenty games, what would want to do then? Would you stick or would you twist?

06 May 2019 18:05:54
But what if he doesn’t turn out to be rubbish spaghetti and his young fresh ideas get us to the promised land? Then we wouldn’t have to stick or twist would we now. And what if under O’Neill and co after 15 or 20 games we are still being served up the tripe we have witnessed over the 19 games he’s been in charge and Maranakis pulls the trigger? Things won’t improve as long as O’Neil is head honcho. Then the merry-go-round keeps turning.
So if you change your question to what I’d do now after seeing the bottom fall out of the play off challenge and having to watch the dreadful, clueless “football” since O’Neill has been in charge, then i say “twist”!

06 May 2019 19:55:07
We do not need fresh ideas just a season with the majority of the current first team squad plus some more quality in the front 6 and a manager and game plan for 46 matches instead of panic station at matchday 12 and 24!
Simples

06 May 2019 21:19:54
TAP1710 you make some very good points and articulate them very well indeed. Not sure about the spaghetti part though! Aren't you supposed to be a diplomat by nature? Or have the scales tipped?

07 May 2019 00:13:19
Yes S_Getty, I usually have to think about things first but then sometimes change my mind. On this occasion i didn’t and went off on one. Suppose that’s the Libra in me. It amazes me how you always remember. Sorry about the spaghetti my friend, I take that back.

Tap i could not disagree more. The whole situation that oneil has inherited is the issue. Where is the flair and charscter in this squad??? Where is the pace and upward mobility??? Its full of crocks, Graban included. Oneil changed the system against boro and produced a scintilating performance but nearly suffered through not burying chances. Carvalaho looks good when given time and space but lacks the strength to work his own space. Oneil now knows through the time here how the squad needs trimming and adding to. To change manager now would undo all this work and we woukd start from base one which would mean a summer of turbulance and quick fixes. Oneil will now know who he is ditching and will have targeted replacements and areas of improvement. Like i said before oneil likes big characters and players that will die for the cause. As for the football????
It was dire under AK, a modernyoung manager, it was fragile and rudderless under the breadman so taking a punt now on a whizkid would only start another potential false dawn. Keeping oneil is the first part of stability and patience we need. The club keep investing in infrastructure and putting the fans first. Oneil has the clarity of vision to put us on the right track for the first time in years. He is the right man to call the hand of the owner, as if,for example,he is not allowed to reduce the playing staff, which we all know is woefully bloated and short in ability, then oneil will leave its that simple. Oneil has dropped a few hints about our ability to score and finish moves, he is not a whinger, just a brutally honest guy and i trully believe he has thus far kept his side of the bargain. Its up to the owner to now let Martin get cracking with the clear out make sensible funds available for contract buy outs and invest the rest in oneil type players. Oneil is the best placed person to do this and by a country mile. Can you not sense the excitement of the comings and goings which will certainly be more interesting than the last 2 seasons we have just witnessed????

07 May 2019 09:10:50
I agree with pasta, no guarantees that any one you get will work. A note of caution from me as well, our neighbours hound out manager after manager, owner after owner. Once it becomes apparent that successive promotions to the championship aren’t going to happen the unrest starts with their supporters. Unrealistic expectations have got Notts to where they are now, why? Because they ended up an owner who’s a fan and pursued the expectation as a fan instead of a rational owner.

Is it possible for you to articulate what you were expecting that you haven’t had?

07 May 2019 17:33:30
1710 no apology necessary pal . It's all banter. By the way, 1510.😉

07 May 2019 20:59:25
Nice one S_Getty. A fellow libran. If i had a hat I’d eat it! 👍🏻♎️.

07 May 2019 21:16:18
My wife often thinks I'm wearing two hats!Well, that's how it sounds to me,at least.

07 May 2019 22:35:26
Come on tap don't be a "drip "
20 players clearout and Martin and Roy will sort it.
Squad is unbalanced he's found the only way it can get results by playing three at the back.
We need a left back if we play a flat back four, its clear Robinson doesn't want to play there and in a back three looks comfortable.
Like i say clear out
Smith
Steele
Dawson
Heffle
Grant
Geddy
Bridcutt
Osborn
Watson
Yacob
Thedi the Greek lad
Murphy
Clough
Cummings
Gomis
Edser
Ansarfarad
Sudani
Lamm
Arybi
Vellios
And then add ward and Henderson whose contracts are up.
Then add all the loans to go back and four or five quality signings we'll be ok

09 May 2019 13:11:18
Fff I have to say that I agree with almost all of the names on your list. But it won't be that easy to get rid of such a motley crew.
