I know this is about forest but would anyone agree Ben white is a disgrace and should never be picked for England again.
Not liking football and not wanting to play for your country
Players like our old number 3 were so proud to wear the shirt.

I think he would prefer to play for Holland what with his bright orange tanned face! ????.

14 Mar 2024 20:47:42
Glad you agree just had to say it I was so angry a player would even consider doing that.

14 Mar 2024 13:58:41
Well if the rumour is true the world gone mad. PSG willing to pay 80 million for Rashford plus half a million a week in wages. OK so probably just bullocks but to even have a rumour like that is mental. One good season and he's linked to that rumour. He's already set up for life after signing for 350 thousand a week. It's beyond ridiculous that a football player can earn a crazy salary by 20 and comfortably retire at 25. I know it's just the way it is but still, eye watering money.

Im surprised he's been selected again for England, in the upcoming friendlies?.

Morning Skegs. Don't let the arrogance and rude comments get to you mate keep posting ?. I might be over in the Skegness area in the next couple of months so will hopefully catch you, Balloons and maybe East Coast Red? What's the social club that you're working at called, think you said some time ago but can't find it. I'm off skiing for a few days in the French Alps next week and staying with an old mate out there, should be good and I won't miss any Forest games so they can't call me a part time supporter! ?Cheers for now ?.

This game illustrates how bad Origi really is against Bournemouth's strikers who are proper Premier League class forwards. Unless we have a striker who is scoring regularly every game is difficult.

Of course, I must stress that my knowledge of plea bargaining is entirely related to the criminal justice system rather than in the sporting arena. Also, I am in absolute ignorance of the size and circumstances of the FFP breach. It would just seem that everyone's happy ( ish) with a pragmatic solution like a suspended sentence. It gets the "guilty plea " tick in the box for the Prem trying to show they can run their own affairs free from Governnent regulation and it allows for us to get our house in order especially considering the inbuilt unfairness against newly promoted teams. We are (apparently) allowed a total of £60 million losses in the last 3 year period ( because of our time in the Championship) as opposed to the £105 million for the rest. Of course, ironically Luton have managed it ( just) so far despite ( arguably ) being in even more straightened circumstances. So, we wait and see. It's like the last few lines of Matthew Arnold s wonderful poem "Dover Beach" written in 1867
"For the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain;
We are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight
Where ignorant armies clash by night".

There seems to be an increasing groundswell of opinion that we will know our FFP fate by this Friday. Apart from our own estimable Carlo, we have information to this effect from the Athletic ( who are very rarely wrong).
I posted on here many moons ago when we were formally charged with breaches and from Forests conciliatory reply it seemed as though they were going to do some plea bargaining with extensive mitigation. So our anonymous spokesperson said words to the effect that we would continue to co operate fully with the authority with the aim of bringing matters to a fair and speedy conclusion.
This appears to be the case if rumour is true. The cases are completely different and Everton appear to be taking a much more combative approach.
So, at least we'll know the worst quickly and get on with our season. The relief might even unburden us mentally so we play better and with more confidence.
The par deduction, based on roughly on Everton's case appears to be 6 points. I'd go even further and hope that there will be a deduction of 4 or5 points or, alternatively, 6 points suspended for 2 years to allow for the unfairness against a newly promoted club with no parachute payments and 2 seasons in the Championship as part of the breach calculation.
It is, as several commentators have pointed out, severely prejudicial against our team. We might have a case against them in the Court of Aribitration in Sport against this inherent disadvantage if we appeal. But this would drag on way beyond the seasons end which makes me think a suspended sentence might be a good resolution. It might even have been already agreed.
The Brennan Johnson part is also good evidence of our fiscal good intentions though obviously too late.
We will see. the crucial decision is coming around quicker than we think.

Watched both games Italy v Scotland and England v Ireland, both brilliant games. There’s no feigning head or other injuries with these lads McGovern mate.
Back in the day my daughter had a stint at Leicester Tigers whilst she was training to be a physio at Nottingham University. They were all absolute gentlemen but she said the then Forwards coach and later Director of Rugby Richard Cockerill took the time to meet her for a welcoming chat. He said the most difficult thing for a physio to deal with was that no matter how badly players were injured they would absolutely refuse to come off the pitch, so she would have to be very strict with them.
When you think of Wayne Shelford losing 3 teeth on the first 10 minutes New Zealand v France in the “Battle of Nantes” then taking his shorts off in the dressing room to discover he’d played the game with a torn scrotum such that one of his testicles was hanging town ( the surgeons saved it) then you can understand what he means. Joe Marler, who played yesterday played virtually an entire match with a broken leg and Ritchie McCaw the legendary Kiwi captain hid a broken foot from everyone ( including his coach) to play the next game.

I believe there going to have a darts major in Saudi, I wonder how that would have worked when there was Leighton Rees, Jockey Wilson and Eric Bristow around, who drank about ten pints a round!.

09 Mar 2024 20:25:39
Let’s just wait and see
I believe we are good enough to finish 14th
Without a deduction.

Must just take a hit on a parking ticket?.

07 Mar 2024 18:07:24
Never had a parking ticket Barron, except one which I had overturned many years ago for an evening match, oddly enough against Stoke City.
Carlo, mate, I use a little known new housing estate behind the Old Turney Street Depot. I usually get there around 2 ish and always find a spot. If I’m running late I pull in some old favours with my ex Police and Group 4 colleagues and park at the Bridewell but I’ve probably only had to do that half a dozen times since I retired in 2009. Then it’s a walk along the canal and up the steps opposite Station Street and along London Road.
The housing estate is opposite the Embankment playing fields into the Meadows. As I say the locals have had a few chunters but nothing to bother me as long as you don’t obstruct driveways etc.

07 Mar 2024 18:57:17
Is that 2ish for an evening KOff ??
CARLO.

07 Mar 2024 19:55:18
I realised when I read it back Carlo! I should have put on hour before traditional 3 pm Saturday kick off mate That’s such a rarity these days but I’m an old hit set in my ways mate! ?????.
