Billy Sharp is close to signing for Reading they made an offer of around 2m Nottingham Forest do not see the value in him enough to offer above the asking price

I don't know where people are getting it from that sharp hates adkins. they went through a patch where they didn't speak but so what? they're both professionals. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to reading

Why would he work with adkins again when he wouldn't play him in the PL while at soton?

Surely if the asking price is only 2 million, Forest would be willing to pay at least that for him. He's a proven finisher at this level and our top scorer last year, if Reading get him for that much that's a bargain.

If Sharp goes to Reading for 2mill, a snip at that price I might add, and we don't even try to get to get him it will prove we are not going to be spending a lot of money this summer. I know he has to want to come but surely we should be in with a decent shout if we show we really want him. What ever happens I hope this one is sorted soon before one of our rivals sign him and he comes back to haunt us all! COYR

Phil. {Ed034's Note - that's not what I said phil. I said if he doesn't sign, then it's because billy doesn't think he's worth that money and things there are better options available. I still think he'll sign but I was see it as a sign of 'lack of ambition or funds' if we don't

I'm hoping we do as a few quality additions, (that being a pacey winger & a play maker) would definitely get the best out of Billy Sharp.

. Oh! & a couple of full-backs & Craig Dawson at the centre of defence would also do rather nicely!
