Tudgay signs 1 year deal

1.) 05 Jul 2013
Yes come on you reds! Like another signing really only
Ayer a couple of games last season and could grab a few this season if played more.

Jake

2.) 05 Jul 2013
Im pleased Tuggers has decided to stay. Alright, he's not prolific, but always gives his all for the cause.

3.) 05 Jul 2013
Personnally I'm quite happy with this as es a good squad player and a nice guy ( we met him aft the 5-2 derby game proper man plenty of time 4 the fans spoke to mcgugen same time arrogant asse!

4.) 05 Jul 2013
Yeah, like tudgay, honest tried. Good squad member. Supersub next season?

5.) 05 Jul 2013
Good, he deserves it. He'll always be in my good books after the contribution he gave to the 5-2 win over the scum

6.) 05 Jul 2013
Glad to see some positivity for Tudguy. Always thought his criticism has been harsh. Can't question is work rate in games. Pleased he has signed

JC

7.) 05 Jul 2013
He had offers from other clubs and would have probably got more playing time there but glad he put pen to paper at Forest for a years extension. I really don't need to say anymore because the above posts say it all.

8.) 05 Jul 2013
Absolutely agree with everything above, let's hope he gets some game time in what is shaping up to be a massive team.
C'mon Tuddie C'mon u Reds.

9.) 05 Jul 2013
Agree with the other comments, Tudgay always gives 100% a real honest pro and an asset to have in the squad, looking forward to next season, picking up season tickets next week brings it that little bit closer.
I saw the Fawaz full interview on the tv website, what a lucky club we are to have such fine committed oowners

10.) 05 Jul 2013
If I was Tudders 1 year plus a bonus for getting us promoted, I think I could manage that sweetener.

11.) 05 Jul 2013
Good player but when you go from talk of signing Austin and Hooper to talk of Tudgay contract extensions you wonder if we're all deluded

12.) 05 Jul 2013
Sorry guys I'm with the last poster, gives his all, nice guy, honest etc all admirable traits indeed but limited ability. Ok for the squad but hope we don't have to see much of him.

13.) 05 Jul 2013
And I'm with the last two posters. Don't rate him and never have. Hopefully will not be one of our four main strikers. However, I agree with previous articles about squad depth etc and the simple fact is that we are going to have injuries and absences throughout a long season and to have him for back up purposes when we are short etc is a massive bonus. There won't beamy fifth choice champ strikers as good as him. So looking at the bigger picture this is a very good move from billy

Keeno

14.) 05 Jul 2013
Solid player - disagree with the last3 posts. proven at this level and although not prolific will give his all a score his fair share of goals.

15.) 05 Jul 2013
Well said, spot on!

16.) 05 Jul 2013
How is he proven at this level. And how is the fact that he always gives 100% relevant. I would have a run out and give everything I had till I fell over incapable of running anymore, but who cares!
Why don't we just add in the 'nice bloke' bit again!!
Tudgay is not good enough for the team we are trying to build, but as stated in my above post I think he does have some small role to play

Keeno {Ed034's Note - we need a squad and we need to have cover. You can't have five star strikers, you need one, maybe two, that are willing to come in when needed. If you have five strikers who all expect to start, you start having problems in the changing from.

17.) 05 Jul 2013
Fair point ed about can`t have five star strikers sat on bench but one star striker at the moment would be nice. Would you start with Henderson? {Ed034's Note - I would start with cox plus one.

18.) 05 Jul 2013
Brave decision as he'll probably be on the bench a lot. Measure of the bloke with other offers on the table. A good red.

19.) 05 Jul 2013
Ed, agree with u completely mate. Read my post just above my last and we share the same view. I was just commenting on the but about him being proven etc

Keeno {Ed034's Note - it's sounding more and more likely we are getting mulenga, so would expect him and cox to start

20.) 06 Jul 2013
Like Morgan. Not good enough!

21.) 06 Jul 2013
Morgan, Championship team of the year, club player of the year & captain. Enough said on that one I think.

With regards to Tuds, not a bad player at all at this level. To have on a one year contract is good business IMO. Can be very effective.

Phil.

22.) 06 Jul 2013
Cohen was player of the year and wore the captain's armband a few times last season and he isn't good enough for our starting 11 this season so I think the poster is suggesting we don't fork out silly money for yet another player who gives his all (Cohen, Gillett, perch, tudgay, wes type players) who are honest, really nice guys but are not blessed with great talent). What was it some labelled Morgan when he was with us after a series of errors, calamity Wes wasn't it (which I thought was unfair by the way)

23.) 06 Jul 2013
I think he is a nice bloke but if we are thinking of making a stellar strike force, possibly of four strikers, he just can't be one. He's not good enough and hasn't got the goals in him. I can see cox and hendo scoring but dex and tuggers aren't up to it for me. I think I'd have preferred us to spend his wages in another striker,

24.) 06 Jul 2013
The last comment about Cohen is also spot on. If we are serious about promotion, he shouldn't be starting this year.

25.) 06 Jul 2013
I can see why ed hasn't replied to the Cohen posts, Avnet got a clue av ya, a great player on his day and his day comes week in week out, yes he can't kick the ball like Reid or blast the ball like guediora, but he really is a an unsung hero, I think he could make the step up to the prem and will get better, great cog in our wheel, please try and get behind him because everyone was racing about him last season and he does have talent otherwise he wouldn't be a professional at what he does would he?
Cheer up guys.

Jak {Ed034's Note - I haven't got a clue or the poster??

26.) 06 Jul 2013
The posters ed m8y, I know you r a fan of Cohen like most people, but for some reason he getting knocked all the time recently?

Jake {Ed034's Note - sometimes I just can't be bothered and would like others to back him up

27.) 06 Jul 2013
I don't blame ya pal, do you think if rumours are true Santa Cruz would pin forest?

Jake

28.) 06 Jul 2013
I was the one who agreed with the Cohen post. For me, his work ethic is great and it was nice to see him moving forward from left back. However, I don't think his work ethic alone makes him good enough for our starting eleven, or what I hope it will lookalike come August 3rd. Guedioura works hard in the middle, cox does the leg work up top, Halford runs all day, I'm hoping Paterson will do the same being young. I think Lichaj would make a better lb than Cohen, he has more experience and knows the position better. In the midfield, Guedioura and Lansbury must surely take the two central positions. Out wide, I hope the likes of Paterson and McLaughlin get chances. I expect another winger to join and I think we will play with two proper wingers. This is the best way forward and would give our strikers who I expect to be impressive, the best chance of scoring lots of goals. I don't think any of Cohen, radi or Reid will play regularly in the first XI next season and I think players like gillett and moussi may be no where to be seen. That's just my opinion but I think Cohen would make a good squad player, just not quite at it for a starting place.

29.) 06 Jul 2013
Short memories some folk

30.) 06 Jul 2013
Look at it this way. Lots of people moaned about Lewis.
He had all the ability and no effort.
Cohen has all the effort and less ability.
You need a good bit of both to get into a forest side fighting for promotion.
Therefore in my opinion, neither should/would be in our starting XI this season. Both would be good squad players but that's obviously not what Lewis wanted so he went.
