Fawaz must think Forest supporters are gullible. All these names which are being banded about by Fawaz to be the next Forest manager is just a smokescreen. He knows beforehand that the managers at Fulham, Wednesday, Barnsley and Saltzburg would never be allowed to leave their clubs, and why would they.

They are at successful clubs, and getting Davies beggars belief. There will be no new manager coming in or new players. Why? Because Fawaz is skint. It will be interesting to see what flannel Fawaz gives Collymore today, because it has also gone very quiet regarding a new CEO.

I would like DF back. He made us solid at the back. Given funds I think he could do a good job. He did wonders under embargo. We have to be realistic. So does Fawaz.

I agree, it's easy to throw all these names out there but another story actually getting one to take the job! Said it last week, I fear the same old story, last minute appointment and then the statement " the money was there for new signings but the manger chose not to spend it" . Hope I'm wrong but time will tell.

I think bringing Defensive Dougie back would be another nail in our championship coffin

A couple of posters saying Fawaz is skint, the basis for this being that he it appears he is no longer willing to put £m's of his own money into a club where everyone hates him. So he may, or may not, be low on his personal fortune but ask yourself, if you were in his position, would you continue to bankroll the club, for all the thanks it gets? I don't want Fawaz involved in Forest any more than anyone else here but I understand the reality of why he wouldn't want to pump more money in, and why he is keen to recoup as much of what he has spent as possible.

I'm no Fawaz fan these days, but the names being mentioned by the press is not even funny.

If you ask me I think this takeover was dragged out into the transfer window, then sack manager and before a new one gets appointed transfer window will nearly be finished or will be closed, sell any players he can get good money for, No players incoming all an illusion for us to be fooled by Fawas again.

I would not be surprised if Fawaz agreed a sale at the end of the transfer window as a parting shot. He seems to want to make us believe he is now listening and will put a structure in place but I don't believe him as much as I want to

Having read so much of the commentary on this and other sites, over the last few years, I think I can summarise what all fans want to see, to guarantee a strong future for our club. An owner and chairman that is a true forest fan, a man of integrity and a proven track record of successful business dealing in Britain. Someone with a real desire to do the best for Nottingham Forest. An experienced chief executive, preferably with a background in a sports business, maybe even a successful local organisation. A senior football figure with loads of experience in the English game, to advise on football matters as a Director of Football or football consultant. With a team working under him, to identify and assess transfer targets and requirements. Then a young coach/ manager with recent success in management, a bright reputation and on his way up in the game. The name I give to this model, certain to bring a bright new dawn to the club is the Doughty/Arthur/Pleat/ Transfer Committee/ Calderwood model… can’t see how it could fail really!

The only person we can rely on to keep us up this season is going to be the manager I would stick with Brazil and lester at least these blokes know forest they know how much this club means to the fans they know all the talented youngsters coming through that will be hungry to keep us up because there will be no money for new players and I don't want some cabbage manager coming in that only cares about a job and wage packet and fawaz ain't bothered stick with who we have no decent manager out there would touch us with fawaz in charge

All I have to say is that "Actions speak louder than words" and the way Fawaz has acted belies what he tells us. I can see anything changing, he will always portray his actions as beneficial to the club to justify then to himself. I have no real hope for the future while he is the owner of Nottingham Forest. He doesn't seem keen to sell and is only likely to when he has run the club into the ground.

In the world of alternative and post truth Fawaz is working through his Observers Book of Football Managers and will land one of his targets one of these days!
