Nottingham Forest have announced a lucrative one-year sponsorship agreement with 'Fawaz International Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Company. '

Founded in 1973 by the late Mr. Mubarak Abdulaziz Al Hassawi, the expanding business enterprise has developed a reputation as a leading and trusted MEP contractor.

The electro-mechanical contracting company, which is based in Kuwait, also operates from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and a number of other countries.

The agreement is in place for an initial year with an option to increase in the future.

Supporters will be able to have the logo printed onto their shirt free of charge once designs have been agreed. Further information on printing will be announced in due course.

So there it is.

So all those cretins with the made up oil company rumours should never come to the city ground again :)

2.) 31 Jul 2013
Big Kuwaiti Oil Sponsor me arse. How much will be invested, any idea anyone. Thank God we have a sponsor.

3.) 31 Jul 2013
The undisclosed figure will be exactly the same as the value of the transfers we have signed, FFP? FFS :-)

4.) 31 Jul 2013
I've just googled the company logo and it will hopefully look quite smart on the shirt.

We'll just have to see how things goes with regards to finances and FFP.

5.) 31 Jul 2013
Not what I was expecting maybe the fa would not sanction the rights for our games to be televised in Kuwait so potential sponsors over there felt there brand would not get sufficient exposure for there money and backed out. Just a thought probably wrong though.

6.) 31 Jul 2013
I'd love to know who puts unbelievable, one year deal perhaps another Kuwaiti firm if we go up

7.) 31 Jul 2013
Does anyone know anything about the sponsor like who owns them or what they do?

{Ed034's Note - fawaz owns them

8.) 31 Jul 2013
I've gone cold on this post!. No substance to it whatsoever other than its an existing company.

9.) 31 Jul 2013
Cretins in the City ground? Think you got the wrong club friend.

10.) 31 Jul 2013
One year deal so that we can get a more lucrative deal when we go up.
Not sure how this sits with FFP! Fawaz in the name and the MD has the surname Al Hasaawi.

11.) 31 Jul 2013
Not one person got this right abit of patience always stops people looking daft

12.) 31 Jul 2013
Cardiff had their games shown abroad so doubt that was the problem no one will sponsor big money until we are in the prem

13.) 31 Jul 2013
However we try to dress this up it's not great news for the club.

It may not have too much affect yet on the supporters or team but no new money coming in is a bit of a disaster and means things will be tighter financially.

Fawaz now has the bill for this single handed and that's some bill. I can't imagine him wanting to go crazy? He clearly has the money but today we have had a knock back for whatever reason and all three of the potential sponsors have dropped out and left Fawaz with the burden.

This will mean less being spent. I asusme?:/ Conversations with Billy will now be about who we can send on loan and where we can cut costs. I would think this will be evident when we see half a dozen go out on loan before the weekend.

We could still see some of our targets landed but they are now potentially further away than they were this morning.

14.) 31 Jul 2013
Thanks for putting your hand in your pocket again Fawaz

15.) 31 Jul 2013
The deal will be scrutinized by the league to make sure its commercially realistic and not a way of getting round FFP.

16.) 31 Jul 2013
The FA will have to sanction this sponsorship on FFP rules, he can't just put in anything he likes, it will have to be similar to what Forest would get off a company of the same standing, or FFP would mean nothing.

17.) 31 Jul 2013
Looks cool to me! (sorry). Can't be bad if they operate in 8 countries in the Middle East and I would've thought air conditioning would be a big business over there with their climate. Pleased to now have a sponsor and ready for the season KO!

I tell you what though, I found a site for this company and some of the contracts they have won is top notch. Think they supply to top oil companies.

19.) 31 Jul 2013
If this is true it is a very shrewd move by our Chairman as it's an obvious way around the Financial Fair Play Rules i. e. he can just pay an extraordinary amount for the sponsorship which ensures our expenditure is always within 3 million of our revenue (because he can inflate the revenue by paying what he wants) thus avoiding any transfer embargo. I like it a lot. Top job Fawaz :-) Matt C.

20.) 31 Jul 2013
Does this mean our owner is sponsoring his own club?

21.) 31 Jul 2013
The only problem with this deal being one year is if another company sponsors us next season will have to buy another shirt

{Ed034's Note - a new kit comes out every season anyway. Gone are the days shirts lasting two seasons

22.) 31 Jul 2013
Fawaz needs to update date that website looks like a school kids IT project. Does have a nice company logo though.

23.) 31 Jul 2013
Me thinks he has only done this because he couldn't get another major sponsor. Suppose a 1 year deal will give them time to negotiate, and of course if they get a new one in the meantime Fawaz can simply cancel this deal

24.) 31 Jul 2013
Brilliant news, great work Fawaz. I wrote weeks ago that it would be a family business who would sponsor us. The perfect way for Fawaz to channel whatever funds he wants in to the club and circumvent the FFP. However I hope the FA don't investigate and find a problem. Happy days, COYR! All the best, Jon

25.) 31 Jul 2013
Nothing wrong with sponsoring your own club, plenty of others do.

26.) 31 Jul 2013
Matt c. Thankfully some one gets it. This is a shrewd move.

27.) 31 Jul 2013
I could see him being the sponsor its why I put a post on here explaining the rule on owners sponsoring there own club, I also think the sanctioning of this sponsorship, under FFP rules is why it seems to have took so long, Fawaz would have known he had to have it sanctioned, it's not a way round FFP, they've got it covered, the rules are there for all to see.

28.) 31 Jul 2013
John pye were willing to sponsor again so there were other bids on the table, clearly this one suits us and if we get promoted then another source will pay that chunk next season, if not Mr shrewd will sit down and evaluate how much the new sponsorship needs to be to keep in line with ffp

29.) 31 Jul 2013
For those worrying that there is no 'new money' coming in - don't! I work in Kuwait and the family is well known. Not only is Fawaz a grade A international businessman, but he is also connected to the ruling family through marriage. What he spends on NFFC is like what you and me would spend on. err. I can't actually think of anything insignificant enough!

Anyway, yes a lot of others do similar. E. G. Man City sponsored by Etihad Airways (owned by Abu Dhabi ruling family, who also own Man City). No coincidence there!

I never expected an Oil company, especially a Kuwaiti state owned company - what would they get out of it? Nothing! It was always going to be one of Fawaz's companies - good move in my eyes. COYR!

30.) 31 Jul 2013
I definitely agree his site needs updating!

31.) 31 Jul 2013
Suspect it's 1 yr to get around FFP AND get a big deal from elsewhere when we reach the promised land.

32.) 31 Jul 2013
Fawaz isn't daft - there will be a very good business reason for this, whether it be FFP or a tax write off or a. n. other reason it doesn't matter as it adds more money to the coffers.

And he really has been spending this summer

The future is Red, the future is Forest :)

Can't wait to be at the game on Saturday, already got my tickets high up near the half way line in the BC stand, mist rolling in from.

33.) 31 Jul 2013
This guy is very good. I bet this was the plan all along. No point in signing multi year deal if the plan is to go up in one season.

34.) 31 Jul 2013
Now watch the logo shirt sales crash with that mouthful!
Hope the marketing dept gives buyers the option with or without all season?

{Ed034's Note - don't see what's wrong with it. They aren't stupid and are going to have it looking stupid

35.) 31 Jul 2013
It can ONLY be a good move! That's why Fawaz & family are super rich, multi business owners.

I trust his decision implicitly. He knows his business & has got to where he is because of making the right decisions. (Apart from Alex McLeish lol!)

Phil.

36.) 31 Jul 2013
A cool move for the coolest team in the league

37.) 31 Jul 2013
Ed, sponsorship sorted. Any idea when squad numbers are released?

{Ed034's Note - no but let's be honest, we play Saturday and its Thursday tomorrow, so I'll sticky neck on the line and say it won't be long

38.) 31 Jul 2013
Some people ave to ask themselves whether their glass is half full or half empty. 24hours ago it was all half full an it still is for me. thanks MR FAWAZ.

39.) 31 Jul 2013
To all you doubters, why the hell are you moaning. We have gone from a local auctioneers to a huge multi national company who supply air conditioning to some of the hottest places on the planet. I would imagine they make huge profits. How the hell can you slag off our owner. You are persons!

40.) 31 Jul 2013
Having said in previous replies, that what Fawaz has done is not a way round FFP, what he would have done is put in the best sponsorship deal, and I believe not getting a lot in return, unless he some how gets a lot of coverage in the mid/east, I read a reply on here, that some one was not happy with a one year deal, Fawaz and all of us hope to be in the prem next year, where sponsorship will cost so much more, and get so much more coverage, so I take my hat off to great leader we have, in not taking advantage of this, and getting himself, a three year cheap deal, this in its self proves he has Forests interests at heart.

41.) 31 Jul 2013
A few points.
1) Man City owners do the same but not under the same name.
2) The owner is Fawaz brother after the death of their father Mubarak.
3) we will not be scrutinised by the league as Fawaz has had solicitors looking at this for weeks.
4) This way he can put in as much as he needs to get players and balance the books for FFP.
5) It is inevitable that some players will be sold or sent out on loan at least two of our strikers will go.

{Ed034's Note - he cannot put in what he wants because there are restrictions

42.) 31 Jul 2013
Don't know about his website. but he defo needs to update those emergency lighting trucks in Bahrain. red transits look about 20yr old lol

43.) 01 Aug 2013
Does anyone know anything about the sponsor like who owns them or what they do?- I think the clue is in the name

44.) 01 Aug 2013
Sponsorship has to be of marketable rate and by a third party!
