The long and short of it is this. Players like Silva and Carvalho are only in the side to create goal scoring opportunities or killer passes really. Right? So if they aren't doing that regularly then there is little point in having them in the side. Right? This was also true of Carvalho for much of last season. Right?

We do need to create chances but the DOF or whoever does recruitment and player sales needs to have a long look at how we recruit players who do that IMO.

I think right now if we had a certain midfielder who is playing in the U23s at Newcastle we would have had cover/ replacement for Sow. If we had a certain Tyler Walker in the squad we would have had a decent finisher in the side with pace as Grabban - injured or not - can't play every minute. We would also have been served well late on last night with a decent target man but there isn't one in the squad!
